Pros: Extremely convenient location to main train station and many of the popular tourist sites, very clean with great soundproofing (couldn’t hear my neighbors or anyone out in the hallways), extremely clean and great air conditioning. Also, front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating with great advice on what to see, where to eat and any other questions we had about Salzburg. The restaurants were also wonderful featuring local cuisine. Also, the view from the Sky Bar restaurant was awesome! This will be our go to hotel when we visit Salzburg again.

At least the staff dont get you the car from and back to the parking. 3. I saw spiders in our room - 3 of them. 4. I expected bath tub but none available, my kids were disraught. 5. High windows and full concrete all around, no point looking at windows.

They also seemed to recognize our family every time we walked through the lobby. It was a great experience. We had two rooms. Both were amazing and cool in different ways. They were both spacious with interesting design. The beds were particularly comfortable, and we appreciated the good air conditioning during what turned out to be a historic heat wave. Also, given the central location on a busy tourist street, the hotel has done a great job of soundproofing the windows to make for a quiet room.

Cons: The location is very central, on the main business/tourist street in the old town. That makes it a matter of preference. We tend to want to stay slightly away from all the tourists, and this is right in the heart of things. On the other hand, it couldn't have been more convenient for getting out in the evening and seeing sights. Despite how busy the street can be during the days, the soundproof double windows made it feel like a refuge from the crowds all the same. Our only other slight criticism was the service at breakfast could have been a bit more attentive. We ate breakfast twice, and both days it required some work to get the attention of the severs. Nothing major, and we might have just hit it on a bad day.

Some might not like the country style décor, but it represented the authentic traditional Austrian style which we enjoyed, and it added to our whole experience. Pros: Fantastic location close to everything you could possibly want to see or do in Salzburg. Very polite and attentive staff - we were even given a tour of this historic hotel and finished with a cocktail. Some might not like the country style décor, but it represented the authentic traditional Austrian style which we enjoyed, and it added to our whole experience. The restaurant was excellent (but expensive!)
Cons: It was a strange set up in the hallways, and even in our room, for example the placement of furniture. However this was due to the historic and evolving nature of the hotel. and did not really create any problems.

Cons: The hotel is located on commercial street of the city, an area with restricted car access. Consequently, I lost at least 30 minutes trying to identify the address where I could not reach by car. Finally I called the hotel and they indicate me a different address for car navigation and so I got behind the hotel. Then I realized that the hotel has no parking and I was sent to a public parking (relatively close to ~ 200 meters). A very unpleasant experience, amplified by the fact that rain in that day and walk with luggage from the public parking to the hotel it was not the favorite part of a holliday day.

Pros: The hotel is in a charming old building in the heart of old Salzburg. We got upgraded to a very large room with a lovely view to the river. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom was big and recently renovated. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast had and amazing variety of EVERYTHING and everything was top quality and delicious. There were “à la carte” items to order as well (included in the buffet breakfast). We highly recommend this hotel and we will for sure stay there in our next trip to Salzburg.

Cons: We had a problem with our card room keys which wouldn't open our bedroom door. This happened around 10.30pm when we were tired and we were sent backwards and forwards 5 times before a member of staff was able to leave the reception desk and help us. There was a fault with the door, not of our making. The next day we had to move rooms because the room was not secure. At no point did any member of staff apologise to us for the inconvenience. Not good enough.

Cons: Paying an extra of 20 €/night for a room with a balcony - and not even a garden chair outside. The airconditioning system was running on a strange scheme, i.e. from 11:00 to 19:00 hrs (most of the guests were not there), then it was switched off. Regretfully, the rooms became warm again and while opening the window, you had all the noise from the street. If you book, no need for a balcony, but insist to a room towards the (large) inner court.

Cons: This hotel is SO NOISY. The street outside turned into party central early evening and raged until morning. That’s one thing when you can keep your Windows shut but when it’s 30+ C, you can’t lead you suffocate. This hotels solution to cooling the room in sweltering heat was a tiny desk fan (10cm, seriously). Too hot and too noisy to sleep. Never again and I honestly think they owe us some credit back for the misery and lack of notice on the situation.

Pros: The holiday inn was rubbish and standard was poor the staff was rude the breakfast was only till 10am normally it’s 11am , no parking as I was there first and reserved parking but after I came back in the evening there was no parking available although I paid for it . There was no air conditioning in the room

Cons: The spirit of Salzburg is just a marketing trick. Nothing like this doesn't exist there. It is overcrowded tourist city with bad gastro (even the caffee shops), with low capacity, bad traffic and full of chinese tourist. Culture of gastro is more and more made by "non-austrians" and you can't be sutisfied with this level (quality, cleannes...). But also the "typical" restaurants are very poor (especially in the centre) with low quality, reliable on tourists e.g. not returning customer. A man would expect a Mozart spirit (or at least clasicism spirit, or at least the spirit of the Austrian Empire). Unfortunatelly you find there nothing like that.

Cons: I have stayed in NH hotel in Milan and thought it was superb while I found Salzburg not of the same standard. Bathroom towels were hard both days, cleaning staff walked into the room both mornings after one quick knock. Kettle I requested on booking was not in my room when we arrived.

Cons: There was a new girl on the reception who was really poor and had no idea what she was doing. The senior front desk people did not really help speed things up! Check in took forever and then check out again took forever. On check out we had parked in the parking and paid the fee but the girl failed to give a special token which was required to exit which meant another trip upstairs to reception to get the token and then downstairs to exit.

Cons: The buses are a bit confusing and this hotel is not walkable distance from the train station. The room itself was nearly perfect. The only thing I think could be improved would be to add USB outlets as this is very handy for international guests. I wish I could have stayed all 3 nights at this hotel while I was in Salzburg, but the rates move around dramatically from night to night. This seems common. I saved about €100 by staying in a different hotel each night of my stay in Salzburg.
