They charged me $1500 on my visa. Not a hold. It took a whole week to get my money back. They could not electronically return it after I returned the rental car a day early. They had to write me a cheque. I was not happy that it took so long and it inconvenience me.Reviewed Apr 11 2024

The first thing we saw, was the place is absolutely filthy. From the doors, floors, the chairs…everything was filthy. After we waited, sometime to be helped, as they were helping other people, we could hear what they were charging them for deposit, etc. When it came to us, we were asked to pay $1500 deposit. And that came with a smug look and a shoulder roll, we believe 100% that was because of our outer appearance, being plus size people. We asked why the dramatic difference from $500 to $1500 and the response we got was because Alberta residence pay more. This isn’t the first time I’ve rented a car, this is the first time I’ve received prejudice, because of what I look like. And asked to pay triple. Not Happy with how this all went down. Need a car. Thought their rates looked good. Prebought on priceline. ( nonrefundable). Got a bad feeling from their returning customers. Declined to take the rental car, lost my money.Reviewed Mar 25 2024

We had an amazing experience with Routes Car Rental! Everything went smoothly.The car was in great condition brand new,i booked a Nissan Roug Gas but they offer me 2024 Ford Escape Hybrid which saved my a lot of gas and money and the price was reasonable comparing the expensive ones espesialy Entreprise. Pros:staff let you read the fine print.Cons:AVOID this rental car. have all sorts of hidden fees . while booking, it was 'unlimited mileage'. then because i am an Albertan renting in Calgary, it is 200kms per day and have to pay for extra mileage. RIPPED OFF , Used another rental agency last week to go to Victoria BC with real 'unlimited mileage"- well now i know how ROUTES works, i will never ever rent a car there. i actually declined and cancelled the car rental on that day, i went to another agency and get another car for unlimited mileage almost the same price. Pros:no commentsCons:They have hidden fees, while booking, it was supposed to be unlimited mileage however since i am an Albertan ,it is not unlimited, it is 200kms per day and the agent told me you should have read the fine print . Thats fine! i missed it , i thought it would be "unlimited mileage" as it states . I rented a van from another agency a week ago in calgary , we went to VICTORIA BC with unlimited mileage . So folks, avoid this company , its ripped off - choose a better rental company !Reviewed Sep 30 2020
