Pros: Beautiful location, right on a beautiful beach. The staff were amazing, especially Renato at the taxi ordering desk.

Pros: Very clean and relaxing place

Cons: Location, at the end of Ipanema but overall wasn’t too far

Cons: Not good service. Tiny horrible bathroom.

Cons: A bit in the middle of nowhere, everything must be done by cab. But also good because who wants to escape the craziness of the tourism is in the right place.

Pros: Lovely beach with no hassle, warm pool, nice place to be based for a chill and explore the area. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast and club lounge with some rooms a nice extra. Great views down the beach and could even just see Christ the Redeemer in the distance!

Cons: Location a little out of town, (but walkable to Ipanema beach in daytime and a free shuttle every couple of hours.) Sea not kid friendly for swimming, big strong surf breaking on beach.

Pros: Amazing staff and a great location with Leblon and Ipanema beach within walking distance. The “private” beach access is only shared with some locals so it feels really safe! Great breakfast!

Cons: As long as you are fine with the rather “American atmosphere” of a hotel chain from the US there is nothing to complain about except that the sun sets quite early in winter due to a mountain directly behind the property. Leblon and Ipanema beach have longer sun exposures

Pros: The property was gorgeous and the pool was wonderful.

Cons: Nothing to dislike about the property. But I am upset with Sheraton grand rio because they didn’t handle a situation properly. My husband had money in his pants pocket and it was a zipped pocket. The pants were folded neatly on the nightstand. We discovered that $50 usd was taken from his money in his zipped pocket. When he realized I told him to look everywhere and we both did. Once we confirmed it was truly not there I called the front desk and spoke with the manager on duty that night. She came to my room and looked as well. She said her and head of security will investigate and interview the housekeeping in the morning. ( since the morning housekeeping are the only ones who entered) now the morning comes I get no answer or call. I decided to go down, there was a new manager and she said they are still investigating and keep in mind today is my check out Day now which they extended the time so this can get resolved. So I go about my last day into town and come back around afternoon. I go to my room pack n take a nap. I wake up at 4pm and check out is 6pm. They have never called. I called and by this time there is a new manager there and now he tells me they interviewed the housekeeping and they said they didn’t take anything they have been there for years and nothing like this has ever happened so I need to go to the police station and make a report. At this point I am upset I’m due to leave at 6pm for airport and he is now telling me this. I go downstairs to talk face to face. He reiterates what he said over the phone and I let him know I do not want to go to the police precinct can’t they come here and he said yes I can call them. I let him know I travel very often and showed him my passport and I don’t know if it the because of the way we look why we are being treated as such (we are young black couple). He assured me we don’t look anyway and that’s not the case.

Pros: Comfortable hotel, large rooms, good bed, fast WIFI, good breakfast, lot of fascility’s.

Pros: Room , staff , swimming pool ( water temperature controlled) , restaurant and the private beach all are very good

Pros: Clê and the rest of the staff were amazing, very friendly, and helpful .. The view is super .. and the hostel is very close to Morro Dois Irmãos.

Cons: They don’t have food in the hostel so you must go walk around the favela and find something

Pros: I met the most welcoming, polite and dedicated people in this hostel during my journey. The hosts are gonna happily help you in any matter and let you get involved as much as you wish to. Great ideas, great spirit, great hospitality, I am deeply impressed! As the hostel name indicates, the view is simply stunning. You might check the current situation, if you decide to come.

Pros: Safe and so funnnnn it was so sad to leave we were so enjoyed , really good experience in favela !!!! Recommend!!!

Pros: The view from the hostel is absolutely incredible and the staff is friendly.

Cons: The photos of booking.com did not match the reality at all (except the photos of the view). The bathroom and kitchen were really dirty, without doubt these had not been cleaned for weeks. Unfortunately, also our bedroom was not clean, sheets contained many strange stains and the floor was dirty as well, with all kind of items from the former 'inhabitant'.

Pros: View! The terrace is beautiful, location is great.

Cons: We had some water issues, bur I believe it is quite normal for a favela. They always fixed it immediately.
