10,0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast I have ever had at the b&b. Friendly and very personable approach. Very clean and good standard
10,0 Excellent
Pros: After a pretty miserable long drive in terrible weather, Moortown Lodge was easy to find. Mark and Sabrine excellent hosts. My room was exceptionally comfortable very quiet and great nights sleep. Wonderful breakfast. The house is nicely furnished. I felt Moortown is more of a high end hotel than very good B&B.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, well presented with plenty of choice, including choice for vegetarians! The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated, even a built in toothbrush charger, a lovely idea.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, good size. Lovely bathroom with powerful shower. The breakfast was great. Hosts were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful e.g provided sofa milk in my room for my tea, told me a good place to eat etc.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great bed and breakfast for Ringwood business trips. Right next to fitness center with a swimming pool. Excellent a la carte breakfast selection, loved the pancakes and bacon combination! Grocery store nearby. Candy in the hallway is a nice touch.
Cons: Separate hot and cold water in bathroom sink is a British classic, yet not very practical. If the bathroom is to be redecorated, a standard single faucet could be used.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were so helpful and pleasant. They recommended and booked our evening meal which was excellent. Our breakfast was amazing. Would absolutely recommend this place and will most definitely stay here again when next in the area.
10,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, good location, great breakfast! Clean and comfortable
7,1 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Given a family room on arrival. This was not the room booked. Furniture was extremely poor with only one chair similar to a dining chair and very uncomfortable so that we only had the bed to sit on. This is really only a B&B. We were moved on our second day. We were told on our arrival that we could be so I think it was understood that they had not met the booking conditions.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for a good price, just around the corner from the friends I wanted to visit, my daughter could easily come over for breakfast and was welcomed with a cup of tea and fresh toast... great! Even the tiny room at the beginning was cosy and comfortable, the one during the following week simply luxurious. I'll definitely book it again!

9,0 Excellent (1 411 reviews)
R3 060+
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location - worth paying a little extra for the river view bedrooms. Nice jacuzzi/spa (once you managed to get in!). Very friendly helpful staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner was good quality if a bit expensive - amazing cheese soufflé.
Cons: It is starting to feel a bit dated in places - the centrally controlled air con that doesn’t really do much, panel heaters on the wall. The shower pressure was awful - it was a mere dribble if you wanted it with hot water. Was only offered the more expensive menu at dinner time rather than the all day one. Food felt about 10% over priced. Queuing and waiting time for the Spa. Expensive drinks in the bar.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Captains Club which far exceeded our expectations especially the standard of accommodation. The luxury apartment we stayed in was very spacious and well furnished. Every member of staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. This is without doubt one of the best hotels we have had the privilege of staying in. The only downside of our stay was checking out! We are already looking to book our next trip so hope to be back soon.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was 1st class.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Cleanliness and friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious room. Spacious and comfortable bed. Lovely greeting. Breakfast was perfect. The selection on the buffet and choice on hot menu was great. Eggs cooked to order.
Cons: There was little to not like. The only thing I would say is that the shower was a bit feeble and I think the shower head could do with an upgrade, the water was slow to come out. The bathroom was also a bit stuffy.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great large room overlooking the river with desk to work as on business trip.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Location was great Good breakfast
Cons: Our first room (as we moved) was called ‘cosy’, I would call it pokey! Barely room to swing a cat, up in the eaves and very uncomfortable. Robert the duty manager changed our room to the suite which was better but was still not impressed with the place. Some of the staff were very ‘meh’ about the fact I’d had 3 hours sleep in a room they guarantee “your best nights sleep” Thought it was expensive for what you got, no idea why this is a 4*? 3* at best. Will not recommended and certainly not for the money.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Unfortunately when we arrived one of our rooms was not made up . And our room smelt damp and had mould growing in the bathroom. The bedroom felt unclean and dirty. Tea tray was incomplete and dirty. Our shower facilities in the morning flooded the bathroom floor as the waste needs cleaning . The situation of the hotel is fabulous as we love outdoor activities. We have stayed on many occasions and have always had positive experience’s unfortunately this time was a complete disaster. I could except one room not being made up , but both rooms is unacceptable. Our complaint was handled professionally and would like to thank the staff for that . Also our breakfast was very good . But really don’t think I will be returning as I feel the whole establishment loosing its appeal . I feel it’s dirty and unkempt. No attention to detail to make your stay comfortable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely warm and welcoming

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Coffee machine in room is really nice. Don't forget to pick up small flask of milk at reception - much nicer and envirofriendly than the plastic uht pots you get elswhere. Good breakfast!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location situated in the New Forest and close to the pretty village of Burley. Country house with cosy welcoming atmosphere, evident as soon as you walk in the main entrance. Enjoyed relaxing in the hotel lounge with a real fire and later dinner in the restaurent. Lovely bedroom with welcoming bottle of wine and beer!
Cons: No one on the desk when we arrived.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: This our third time at Avon Causeway and we have always returned because of the lovely, comfortable rooms, lovely food and great service.
Cons: This time the place was a bit busier than we have seen it before, and whilst we were really happy that people were clearly enjoying the hotel and wanting to come, it did mean the usual great service we get, did slip a bit. We had to wait 20 mins to check in, which was fine as there was a few people at the bar and only 1 person working. However at dinner, we ordered drinks from the bar when we arrived and then was forgotten about for half an hour with no one even coming over to our section of the restaurant to take our order. In the end I ordered from the bar. It was a busy night and clearly not enough people to cover. Food was lovely as usual. Then at breakfast, again only one person on. Which meant she forgot to bring our toast and filling up the self service bit was a little slow. We didn’t mind in the end as we were full but I know a few other tables around us had issues with her forgetting things. Again, not her fault as she was doing it all on her own. We would return but not in a hurry. I do think better planning by management is needed to ensure enough staff at busy periods, especially on a Saturday when there was clearly a lot of people booked in. It was unfortunate as it’s the only place we have returned to multiple times and so was a shame to see standards slip a bit.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was friendly and welcoming from the start. Beautiful rooms with lovely touches. The dog bed and bowls filled with treats and water etc was a wonderful touch. Made very welcome and loved the hotel.
Cons: Sadly for me the bed was too hard but otherwise everything was great

Pros: We had to leave early before breakfast, and they delivered a breakfast tray to our room, which was unexpected and very appreciated. Also we had a lovely evening meal there too. Would highly recommend it.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely Country pub food was excellent rooms very clean the only two down sides was the room was very hot (we opened a window so that was fine ) and the outside light was on all night shinning in our room but that didn’t stop us sleeping.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like great place to stay

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great night sleep
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, Recommended Jetty restaurant
Cons: Lack of parking on arrival, bridal fare
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The treatments at the spa were excellent as was the food at breakfast, lunch and dinner! I particularly liked the relaxation room overlooking the beach. Bedrooms were spacious and clean and beautifully decorated.
Cons: Although the hotel can accommodate many guests, the spa is quite small in comparison and very busy in the afternoons. It did get much quieter after 5pm.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and we were surprised that in addition to the complementary mineral water, we also had gin and sherry. This was something really extra and I won't be looking for it next time. The Location is great, with the restaurant looking out over the harbour. Unfortunately it was a very wet couple of days and most of our time was spent in the Spa and also eating. very relaxing.
Cons: Not sure that there was much that could have been done better. The bed was really soft and my preference is for something a little harder, but it was Ok. The switch for the light in the bathroom was a little difficult to operate and we could have done without the fire alarm going off at around 7.30 AM, but staff were very apologetic, when I went down to find the muster point.

Pros: The room was clean and modern. Bed was comfortable. The shower room was clean and modern also. The breakfast was delicious although you only got 1 sausage, 1 bacon and 1 egg. 8,0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, good toiletries and comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast was well presented and cereals, yoghurt and fruit were available. Of course, chocolate in room was an added bonus. Free parking was very useful and the location of hotel meant walking to town, pier and BIC was extremely easy.
Cons: Having to make own coffee or tea from machine at breakfast. A very deep bath means climbing in to use 'over bath shower' could be a challenge for some people.

Cons: When I received my booking confirmation it was for a Double room. About a week or so before the trip I got a reminder and that said a twin room. So when I arrived at the hotel I said this but was told it would be ok. I had a very bad nights sleep as I kept falling between the beds and waking up. When asked how my stay was at reception I told the lady and all she replied was sorry to hear that. So i just turned round and left. I wont be staying here again.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent, well presented with plenty of choice, including choice for vegetarians! The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully decorated, even a built in toothbrush charger, a lovely idea.

Pros: Comfortable room, good size. Lovely bathroom with powerful shower. The breakfast was great. Hosts were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful e.g provided sofa milk in my room for my tea, told me a good place to eat etc.

Pros: We stayed in the room for Disabled as my husband has a mobility problem and it met all our needs. All very clean. The Staff were very helpful and pleasant in the Restaurant and at the Reception.
Cons: There was no Earl Grey tea in the Tea Selection in the restaurant ! The mirror in our bathroom was off the wall and resting against the wall on the side table which looked precarious !

Pros: Breakfast included in rate good value reasonable quality cooked to order, although self service station wasn’t replenished needed to ask, cereal bowls, hot water & side plates
Cons: Staffing levels minimal but again you get what you pay for so this was the balance you need to be prepared for. Initially made an error on booking wrong date my fault entirely but according to T&C’s payment would not be refunded even though the booking was two weeks in advance
