First impression was not great , seeing the main door glass smashed , this was soon forgotten, as in the tough cocona virus times the staff were 100% professional, and as helpful as they could ever be
All other than door was brilliant , and I would not score them down on it , it was just a minor issue
Heating in room!
The room was good. The power shower very good. The beds were comfortable. The hotel setting was very nice. The bar and eating area were very comfortable and relaxing.
The food could have been better. The breakfast was straight from the kitchen but was warm at best. The chips at lunchtime were not enough. Served in a goblet as is the trend these day.. The chicken and bacon sandwich was pretty tasteless and my girlfriend gave me half as she wasn't impressed. There were also some people who were chatting and smoking outside our room on and off upto 1am. I had to tell them to go elsewhere to chat.
The room i was given on the first floor was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was a fire escape door situated below my room and a group of very loud men were meeting there to smoke and have a chat. They had absolutely no regard for any other guests. I was awoken at 10pm to the sound of shouting and laughing.. I thought that my window may of been open, but it was shut...I walked down to reception to make a complaint. The corridor reeked of cigarette smoke and i could see that they had opened the fire door despite the sign on the door stating that the door was alarmed and not to be opened for emergency use only.. The staff were very understanding and apologetic.. the manager said he would talk to them..I walked back with the manager and i witnessed him telling them that they were not allowed to open the fire door and not to do it again... I then returned to my room only to be awoken again about an hour later by the same individuals. They had totally disregarded the managers instructions...The fire door was left wide open and the corridor was thick with cigarette smoke. I complained again and they very kindly found me an alternative room.. I can't fault the staff who were very professional and apologetic. Its a real shame that these selfish individuals had no respect for other guests or the staff whatsoever..
Location is really good and great for access to the area. although on the main road it is well laid out and far back off the road so no traffic noise
Pillow menu would be a great addition
