Pros: Before our arrival we were contacted to ensure all our needs would be met. From the valet to the desk personnel to having transportation arranged for our evening to a special anniversary gift delivered to our room we were overwhelmed and so pleased with the attention all the staff paid to us. It made the stay so much more enjoyable and effortless.

Pros: We had an excellent experience at the Westin Ottawa. Our room was on the 21st floor overlooking the Parliament buildings - it couldn't have been better. The room was spacious and well-designed. We would definitely return here.

Pros: Close to convention center, shopping & Byswater (Bayswater?) restaurant area. Not far from Chateau Laurier or Capital Hill. Clean rooms. Friendly staff at front desk. Cool/funky little restaurant/cafe area on the first floor, which filled up at night. Common areas bright and nicely decorated, with lots of computers for general use. Room was small but functional and clean. Gym was a little disappointing, but had treadmills eliptical and some weight machines. It was fine for a short stay, but not much more. Nearby construction makes for some unattractive views, but it's not noisy or bothersome otherwise. Overall, I was happy with my selection for the price I paid.

Pros: We expected a hotel room, but we got a small apartment with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room.
The amenities have been updated and were quite adequate. It is an older building and the hallways and elevators are dated, but don't let that fool you, the room was very nice.
I especially liked that they had very large screen TVs in the living room and bedroom on regular Rogers Cable, not the crappy Hotel system that won't let you watch regular TV in HD.
Breakfast was excellent with a large variety of options and EXCELLENT coffee. They didn't mention it, but there is a second room for breakfast across the hall on the other side of the elevators if the main dining room is crowded.

Pros: During my five night stay, every single staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and polite, and unbelievably helpful. I've never been to any business, hotel or otherwise, where the staff have been so good.
The room had beautiful wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows. It was always very quiet. The AC worked like a charm, which was great bevause it was 30 degrees outside most days we were there. The gym and pool were nice.
On Canada Day the hotel let all the guests onto the top floors, which have a 360 degree view of the city, so we could watch the fireworks.

Pros: We had top floor 1 bedroom suite - nice apartment with balcony and great view. Myself and 2 older daughters. No car needed as easy walking to Rideau center and University etc. Elgin street 2 blocks away with bus routes,excellent restaurants. So location is perfect. Can recommend Mayflower for breakfast and don't miss Friday's restaurant for prime rib. In hotel, although we did not cook much kitchen was certainly equipped for all our needs. Nor did we use the breakfast, nor other hotel facilities only because we had no need. When it was hot finding AC was tricky as located above refrigerator, but found it OK without having to phone desk. Will stay again next trip to Ottawa. Lovely city. And the wifi Internet is free and good speed.

Pros: We were surprised that it was so clean, the room was larger than expected, includes a fridge and sink in room, coffee maker. Beds were comfortable. We arrived early in the morning (check-in is at 2pm) and the hotel staff let us leave our car in the parking lot while we visited Ottawa. Location is excellent! About 4 blocks from Byward market, Parliament, etc. There is a 24 hour Metro grocery store 1 block away.
