You walk straight out of the hotel into a lovely park which surrounds the top of the falls, and the maid of the mist entry is close by. It's an independently owned hotel and so does not have the corporate "all the same" feel to it. Rooms are clean and comfy, and the food is excellent and good value for money.

Pros: Everything was wonderful, from the check in staff, who was so kind and helpful, to the DELICIOUS Free full breakfast, to the staff that shipped our clothes home to us because we accidentally left them in the closet. We couldn’t believe that we could WALK to the falls , and could’ve walked over to Canada. If we were there longer we would’ve. I would definitely recommend the Red Coach Inn. They were amazing!!!!

Cons: Al the staff is doing it’s thing without giving you the feeling you are the guest. Missing ingrediënts in cocktails, drinks not available and no creative thinking how to cope with that. The hotel staff is missing a soul, I think because nobody knows whats expected from him/her.

Cons: Waiting staff in general were very poor and very slow. In the 4 days we stayed we had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation and there were empty tables. Slow to bring drinks, and even forgot one of the courses. However when it came to producing the bill they were all smiles and very speedy.

Cons: The rooms are pricey, but given the location this is not surprising. There is no elevator. This is a very small thing, but in our room (Somerset) the blackout drapes did not reach all the way to the side of the window and left a small gap that is, unfortunately, where the head of the bed is. We did manage a work-around for this, but this would seem to be an easy fix for the hotel.

Pros: The well-located(easy walk to the Niagara Falls State Park and the Rainbow bridge(don’t forget your passport) to Canada), historic Art Deco Hotel Giacomo is a beautifully restored property. The service is impeccable(on early arrival, reception held our luggage, telephoned when the room, where our luggage, soft music and lighting awaited, was ready. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The lovely, large standard room with an exceptionally comfortable bed, and the yummy breakfast(7:30-10:30)all made for a wonderful week’s stay. The extras include a cozy bar with a good evening snack/bar food menu. On 2 occasions, we enjoyed their charcuterie/cheese platter with a bottle of wine in their 19th floor ‘Skyview’ lounge(view of the falls, comfortable seating, TV, wetbar, restroom, and wine social on Fri/Sat nights). We stay in a lot of hotels. The Hotel Giacomo is unrivaled for service.

It said they had 1/2 price bottle of wine on Tuesday night, Ladies night on Wednesday night and entertainment on various nights. We were told by the bar manager in a rude fashion these amenities did not exist. If you advertise on your website, then you must honor what you offer. Was told by rude bar manager that amenities stopped 2 years ago.

Cons: Wish the Casino was non-smoking with a enclosed smoking area for smokers, instead of a smaller area that it has now, that is in a non-smoking section. The machines that we liked were in the smoking section which was kinda a turn off for us. We should be able to play without having to breathe unwanted cigarette smoke.

Cons: The only complaint I have is about the check in policies which is the same pretty much every hotel but we ended up getting there about 2 o’clock was told at check-in our room was not ready and I thought check in time was 3 o’clock they said it was 4 o’clock and they said the room may not even be ready by four so I went and gambled for a while came back about quarter after three room was still not ready but they accommodated us by putting us in another room And let us in early so that was a really great and helpful of your friendly staff but overall was very nice and had a great stay.

Cons: On our first day the lights went out completely right before us leaving to go out to the park. They were back on when we came back at night. Second day fire alarm was set off from TGIF we had to evacuate the building but was told to go back to building everything was taking care of. Hydro spa wasn't anything special like the brochure seemed. It's all a self serve spa with machines so they aren't being cleaned after you use them for the next person. Door Access to spa wasn't working staff member helped us in. Oxygen mask were dirty and there wasn't a new supply set out.

Pros: The pillows and bed were super comfortable. The desk clerk who checked us in was more serious and not very friendly- however ALL the rest of the staff were friendly. Loved the bar, pool table, breakfast, free WiFi, how close to the Falls we were. Everything was within walking distance. And they validated our parking!

Cons: The front desk clerk threatened to refund our money and send us elsewhere when we came down from our 1st room that was filthy and had broken beds. Second room had mold finally the manager put us in an acceptable room.

Cons: Very outdated. Our room was surface cleaned but really hasn't had a deep clean in years. Stains on walls, ceiling cracks, cobwebs and dust everywhere. Pool area and hot tub are in need of being refreshed as well. Staff was great. Breakfast bar was sufficient.

The Bathroom behind the door in room 219 is Filthy in the corner Needs Scrubbed the wall paper is Pealing looks like a Water Damage Happened and someone Elmer's Glued It.
