10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is ideal for anyone arriving in Ayr by train as Turas-Mara guesthouse is only 5 minutes away, also it is so close to everything. There is a Morrisons Supermarket directly across the road with it's own pharmacy, (if required), to pick up any items you may require, 5-6 minutes from a large town center, a 15 minute steady walk to a lovely beach and a 15 - 20 minute walk to Ayr racecourse. As for places to eat or go for a drink there were a lot of variety within a short distance. The room I stayed in had a double bed and a single bed, the decor was light and relaxing, and the breakfast was fantastic. The people who run the guesthouse could not do enough for the guests.

Pros: The host is wonderful, warm and very welcoming. The bedroom with an ensuite was clean and tidy. The ensuite has a blue mood lighting relaxing. The Scottish breakfast was excellent kept me going all day.. I've been in plenty of hotels and BB all over Britain. From Plymouth to Peterhead , Norwich to Bangor and this comes out on top for BB. I believe they could beat some hotels I've stopped in. The host was very knowledgeable about the area and that's the key, When taking your break. I don't give out top scorers however, for a BB I would give them 5
Cons: There is nothing not to like however, the TV is a little small

Cons: Nil
7,9 Good
Pros: The location was ideal. And the bed and pillows were really comfortable.
Cons: Room 2, It wasn't a sea view as advertised. The shelf in bathroom needs fixing as does the toilet roll holder, both loose. No explanation that you needed a permit for parking or that the keys given out were for front door as well as your room, had to ask where the room was. It's 2x single beds pushed together not a large double as advertised so you could feel the join. 1x bathrobe instead of 2. The free toiletries needed replenished. All small things really but attention to detail does make a difference. Certainly not 4 star.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfy . Staff were helpful unfortunately no Soya milk for breakfast but l had my own in the room and brought it to the Restaurant .Hotel was spotless clean only thing l would be a TV in the lounge for homely touch .
Cons: Only no Soya milk and felt lounge needed a TV for music distraction etc
1,0 Poor
Pros: room was lovely as always
Cons: What a shame, this hotel is usually excellent, however, we had a nightmare, specifically relating to staffing issues, granted the hotel was busy, but there seemed to be no supervision on the bar staff, at one point the young bar tender when asked for a large amaretto and a soda water and lime she proceeded to pour me a concoction off all these elements in one glass, thinking it was a cocktail and not 2 drinks, omg. that was bad enough but after ordering a baileys and another amaretto, the bar tender used the same measuring jug and didn't clean it out first, resulting in a very murky amaretto. breakfast was worse, as they were busy we were shuffled to a side room, that really wasn't suitable as a breakfasting room, you could hear a pin drop and everyone's conversation, anyway, it took 35mins before the coffee arrived after a polite excuse me, they had obviously forgotten about us. my advise is to the owners, you need to invest in more staff and in particular experienced staff. what a shame

Pros: Breakfast choice was large. Not the best cooked breakfast we have had (a bit greasy) but the porridge, eggs and smashed avocado were excellent. The staff were really friendly in all areas. We loved our stay there, the negatives were just little niggles really.
Cons: The bathroom was quite small and the hot pipe in the shower was exposed and very hot. The telephone emitted a beeping noise so had to be unplugged. The shower flow rate was very low at times but nicely hot.

Pros: The food in the restaurant was outstanding. I stayed for 5 nights and on each night had a fantastic meal. The cost of the meals are also tremendous value for money.
Cons: Nothing
