Value is great and since I live on another Hawaiian island, I liked the location, a somewhat quiet area of Waikiki but very close to the action. Great for LGBT travellers as well. You are far enough from the madding crowds and most of the guests were warm and friendly.

Pros: The room was very nice and the comfortable. We ate at the Kani Ka Pila Grill 2 evenings and for 1 breakfast. Everything we ate was very good and the service was good. The Mai Tais were awesome. Be sure to go for Happy Hour, great food and drink prices with live entertainment. There is more live entertainment in the evenings.We heard 3 different groups and all were excellent.

Much more secluded and private compared to downtown. I think this location is more upscale compared to the other Outrigger Beach. We did have a great view of the pool and could leave the door open for the lani then listen to the nightly entertainment. Everything to eat and shop is in walking distance. They were very welcoming upon arrival with a cool towel and a mango drink. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. This is for sure my go-to place in Waikiki.

Pros: The Prince Kuhio was only a block away from the beach, and the shuttle to Ala Moana (a great shopping centre) stopped right outside the door. The staff here are very friendly, in particular the crew from Mac 24/7 who provided great service for breakfast every morning. The rooms were stylish and very clean and had everything we needed, and the hotel seems very family-friendly. For the very reasonable proce I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Pros: Everything was wonderful we stayed for 5 nights booking them in 2 lots as needed to add on and extra 2 nights at the forefront. The cleaners were friendly, do anything for you and were at all times available to help out if needed. We loved the upgrade we were given as it gave us wonderful views of Diamond Head and the Honolulu Zoo grounds and some animals. It is close to the beach and provides everything you need for that including towels and a shower at the entrance to rince off the sand. It was close to the shops and restaurants etc. We had stayed there before and loved it and was very quiet so decided to go back.

Pros: Location and staff were the highlights, but the overall experience was a positive one in every aspect. There were renovations being done in the next room, and on the outside of the hotel. I was told this when I checked in, and they were very considerate of guests, limited the hours the work was being done (i.e. when guests were likely to be out of the hotel) and thought they managed the renovation process well in consideration for their guests. Fantastic.

Pros: I enjoyed 2 nights here and then looked for a bit more savings. I actually went to 3 other hotels in the 100-150 range and looked at their rooms. Nasty. Old, outdated, musty, mildewed... the Shoreline Waikiki is not fancy, but it sure is clean and smart. So I went back and rented another room for 3 more nights. Rooms are small. Rooms were clean! First room, on 6th floor, was a tad shinier and newer than second room I rented on 5th floor. I suppose it had seen less traffic. Hotel staff was friendly, there's coffee and iced tea downstairs, there's a simple but clean and effective pool on the roof. All the design/remodel choices are one smart notch above budget. Hotel is a few feet off of Kuhio, in the midst of the Waikiki tourist district. Beach is a 5 minute walk. No complaints at all. Heartily recommended.

The staff, the facilities, the service, and the way that the hotel feels secluded even though we're in the middle of Waikiki... there's so much to love about this place. Pros: We stayed in a partly ocean-view room and loved the location of this hotel. The Waikiki Beach is right in front and they provide beach chairs and towels at no additional cost. The room is cleaned up two times a day, and that's perfect with the guests who frequently jump in and out of the ocean all day long shedding sand. The food at the beachside restaurant is also great. Also there are many great restaurants within walking distance. My husband and I had a great time.

Pros: The facility and management were awesome and very accommodating. The initial room I was in seemed to be slightly dirty (tub and sheets both had stains). I can’t for certain say they weren’t clean. I couldn’t tell if they were stained or dirty. Either way, I shouldn’t have to guess. Once I notified management this was quickly rectified and I was placed in a new room- with a bonus upgrade. This is still my favorite hotel.

The location 10/10
This is my second time staying here after visiting 2 years ago with a friend. The most trip with my fiancè. The price seems expansive however I can assure you it's definitely worth it. The pool and location best in Waikiki. We had a standard city view room. And the room was a decent size with all standard features. The location and adults only pool, make this the best hotel I've stayed at.
They also have a great kids pool if traveling with a family, with slides.

Pros: When you go to Wikipedia and look up Waikiki, there is a picture of THIS hotel! If you book an Ocean-front room on a higher floor in the Eastern-most tower, you'll have the classic view most can only dream of from your balcony or even inside the room. Besides the obvious beach across the street, within a few blocks walk, you'll find dozens of restaurants and high-end shops, as well as the Honolulu bus transit line. Timely response to the only need we presented was commendable. Wifi worked well, also.

Pros: The updated room was very nice. We stayed on the 37th floor and we had a fabulous view of Diamond Head and the beach. The beach is literally right in front of the hotel. The location is great. It is within walking distance of everything you need. This hotel is a great value for the price. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Pros: I liked the location. It's right next to the mcdonalds if you're hungry for a cheap meal, especially if you don't want to spend $35 for the breakfast buffet that they offer at the hotel. But if you get a free deal for the breakfast buffet if you book through Expedia or a third party website , it's definitely worth it. There's a parking garage connected to the hotel but it'll cost you $25/night. It's also super close to the Hyatt and international market. And the beach is 1 min walk. You just have to cross a stoplight. Diamond Head and the zoo are close too. I would uber to diamond Head if it's later in the day cuz parking can go fast. But the zoo is walkable.

Pros: I was very pleased with the location of the Hotel which was very central and right opposite the beach. The breakfast in the hotel was very good and catered for all tastes and the three storey aquarium was a lovely feature and very restful. The room was very well appointed and very clean.

Pros: Check in was quick even though I read that it took 2 to 3 hrs at times. I did see that a few days after we were there. The lines were huge! The scooter I ordered was right there at the bell hop. We were upgraded to the Rainbow Tower with a view of Diamond Head. Beautiful! The super pool was below us and the lagoon around the corner. Watched the fireworks off the lanai on Friday night. Check out was easy and so was movie rental. Beach was wonderful.

Pros: The hotel has beautiful grounds and a great location right on the beach. Even though we didn't have a beach view we had a view over the lagoon which was relaxing - at least we weren't looking at the brick walls of another building. It's a great place for a family vacation, although my husband and I were there by ourselves. We walked down the beach to other hotels and restaurants which took about 15 minutes and didn't really bother us. Next time we go to Honolulu we might think about staying closer to the centre of Waikiki.

During peak times like Christmas / NY it makes it tough to secure space. Service at the restaurant by the pool was very slow. Painfully slow... I would return but challenged to stay there again @ $500/ night unless everything is perfect.

Pros: I liked that the hotel was located near the harbor. A short 1 mile walk form downtown Waikiki and not too crowded with many surrounding hotels. Definitely an adult resort, although I did see a few kids. Staff was super friendly, views of the marina and ocean were great. Access to the beach just a short walk although from beaches on O'ahu this was the worst strip of ocean I visited. I'd suggest staying here and enjoying the beach elsewhere. Liked the details of the ukulele, sea shells and sarongs as décor. Room was ready early. Room was quiet and simply decorated with all white giving a feel of space. Clothes line in the shower for wet swimsuits was a plus!

Pros: The Ambassador Hotel has a wonderfully responsiveness staff who were willing to help. For example, our toddler locked us out of the in-room safe and a maintenance person came immediately to open it. The hotel also has filtered water machines and re-usable bottles, which I liked. The gym and laundry were good. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the beach.
