It would have been nice to be able to get ahold of someone on the phone to set up a different drop off location. Now I get why people drop rental cars wherever. You don't answer your phones.Reviewed Feb 14 2024

Pros:It was a good value! It beat the overpriced rates of Enterprise that are taking advantage of the tourists and locals in Venice, Florida. I drove 40 miles to get this Rental, and it was worth it.Cons:Staff was Great, but you need to get a drop box for rental keys for after hours and weekends.Reviewed Apr 27 2021

Pros:Original price was good but the tire went flat and had to call a wrecking service ($65). When he came he found that the spare was flat. Had to take tire to be fixed ($21). Had to take a taxi from airport to rental location and from rental location back to the airport ($35 + tip each way=$80). Extra $165. We lost a day of vacation when tire was flat and 2 1/2 hours waiting for tire to be repaired plus time getting to and from rental location which was approx. 10 miles in the opposite direction of where we were staying when we passed a Hertz location about 5 min. from where we were staying on the way to the place our reservation was made for us. Was told when I made reservation that we could be picked up from the airport.Cons:All of the above was a dislike PLUS the guy who was there was NOT personable or professional.Reviewed Apr 17 2021

Pros:Two days before scheduled pickup local Hertz called and canceled our prepaid 10 day rental agreement. By that time there were NO vehicles available for rent in Venice, Florida due to Spring break and Easter holiday. Local personnel said they had no vehicles though there were 7 vans sitting in their parking lot. When I questioned them they said they were all “broken”. Local personnel called their fellow employees liars, said corporate Hertz was terrible and to blame and said there nothing they could do about it and nobody else I could talk to. I also called Hertz customer service and they likewise said there was no one I could talk to about this cancelation at the last minute. Extremely disappointed in Kayak and Hertz. Will not use again!Cons:Everything!Reviewed Apr 3 2021
