Had to wait a long time for shuttle from airport in Fort Meyer. Replaced car when first rental developed cracked windshield but new car was older and not as nice. We had to argue that the cracked windshield was not our fault. They eventually assumed responsibility.

Rental says $45/day. After add-ons and surcharges ended up being $70/day. Great staff at the Fort Myers location. Friendly and helpful. When I had a question before returning the car, options on the phone wouldn’t let me through to a person. Told me to work on the web. Finally called reservations and again got a friendly agent named DJ and she helped. Thank you

If I had to describe the experience in one word it would be confusing. I’m still not sure what I paid for and what I was nickled and dimed for. I paid up front for the rental two months before I picked it up. I was given no receipt when I picked up the car and the one emailed to me had additional charges to the tune of $200.00 I did not understand. You can’t call and talk to anyone at the location. When you call you get someone in a call center somewhere. They asked if I wanted to prepay the toll for the bridge which I did but I believe I was charged twice the toll plus tax. I have no idea how to get a live person to explain all this to me. I was asked to look at the car and document and scratches bumps when I picked it up but when I turned in the paper they looked at it and gave it back to me. They didn’t even make a copy of it. Very confused and feeling ripped off.

Woman at desk lied about what car was available—my partner and I heard her talking to another coworker. She also was extremely pushy in trying to get me to buy the insurance and a SunPass—I told her the interior of the car wasn’t cleaned well—her reply “just write it down”. **The air conditioning went out after the first day. We were driving around in Florida for a week with no air conditioning—it was awful.

The surcharge for use of local toll bridges and roads is extraordinarily high. Otherwise, I was very satisfied with Fox.

They did not honor Priceline price we were quoted. Unprofessional staff. They were annoyingly push about adding on extras for more money. Will never use them again.

The location is off-airport, so the price is a bit less than others. You need to take a shuttle, which was crowded on the pickup, good on the drop off. The drivers are hustling. The wait in the lobby to do the paper work is like many car rental companies ... long. The really disappointing issue had to do with Fox's handling of tolls in Florida. They are clearly just trying to make money, not give you service. We knew we would cross a toll bridge to get to Sanibel Island that has a $6.00 toll. Fox said each crossing would result in a $21 charge to me. Outrageous. The toll entity has gone to a "plate" charge of $3.00 added to the $6.00 toll if you don't have a physical transponder and account set up. So, each crossing should cost $9.00. Fox is going to charge $21.00. Like I said, outrageous.

I will never rent from Fox again. Ridiculous amount of upsell, rudeness, and lies from the representative when I picked up the car. Total pain in the butt. It kind of ruined the first few hours of my trip.
