Return was a real headache. I called day before to make sure ok to return before 4:00 am due to flight at 5:00 am, NO ENVELOPES at either key drop site!!! Dropped car off in parking lot. NO Envelopes! Ran back to make sure my 82 year old friend was ok at Delta counter. Then ran back to actual counter INSIDE airport. NO Envelopes. Ripped off a piece of paper and wrote info on it. Folded paper around key and had to practically stand on my head to get key in slot!!! By then I was exhausted. What can you say to me about this?? That eventually I got a small car.Cons:
Had reserved a small car -- but only a truck was available. Was told to come back the next day, when there would be plenty of cars, and swap it out for a small car. Did that -- told us that no cars were available (all cars reserved -- tho of course my car was reserved too). Told to come back the next day between 8-10am -- when there would surely be plenty of cars. Did...and after 30 minutes (first saying there were no cars) they found a small car. Incidentally, had tried to call ahead each time but the main office didn't know the local car situation and no one answered the phone at the local office. Local office told me that they don't have anyone available to answer the phone. This isn't a problem that can be solved without people driving all the way to the airport to find out if there are cars available?9,2 Wonderful

The 2nd car was clean & in good working condition. Try’s car w/ cracked windshield & followed all instructions when I called in & got case #, did follow up before returning car. Simple “incident report” done upon return, easy, 15 min to do paperwork so was impressed they gave outside service, avoiding lines inside terminal.Cons:
Initial car had obvious front end or alignment problem that should have never been rented out. Caused me to return next day for replacement. Eating my valuable vacation time.10,0 Wonderful

The car had very dirty , spotted windows making it hard to see. Particularly the side rear view and the back window. The paper work and other trash was left in the car from the renter before me. Also, the charger did not work and I ran out of battery on my phone. This resulted in losing the GPS directions. The man that waited on me in Sarasota was curt and unfriendly.6,4 Okay

Cons:
The steering on the vehicle was defective and it was dangerous to drive. After I drove to my destination ,which was about 60 miles away from the Avis location I never drove the vehicle. I would have returned it immediately however it was just before Hurricane Irma struck and I hadn't to get my wife and myself to safety. It was a frightening drive. I called the Avis help the next day and explained the problem to them. A tow truck was sent to retrieve the vehicle that day and I thought that would be the end of it. However, I received my American Express bill with a charge of $464.12 which I have challenged. I should not have to pay for a defective vehicle which I only drove for about 60 miles and only because I had no choice.Not only that, but the invoice I received from Avis shows a balance of $464.12 and reflects that I drove the vehicle for 351 miles which is absolutely false. The only time I drove the vehicle was the day I rented it Since I rented the vehicle thru you, I would appreciate it if you would try to resolve this issue for me as I have no intention of paying for a defective vehicle. Bill was extremely helpful in adjusting the amount overcharged. Paul was also a pleasure. Everything about our encounter was very very nice. The drop off process was very easy. if I was not overcharged I would have been out of there in 5 minutes.Cons:

I called to let them know I needed the car two days earlier. Had to leave a voice mail and got no return call. Didn't know where to find the shuttle. Took forever to process paper work. When we went to return the car, there was no one there. We had to call two different numbers to get someone there to check the car in and give us a ride to the airport. HORRIBLE!!!!
