I pre booked my car but upon arrival the Credit card machine wouldn’t read my card for the deposit. The person at the desk wasn’t willing to be helpful. So I went to Avis and rented because that person was able to be helpful.Reviewed Aug 18 2023

They didn't provide a charging cable for the EV, despite saying there "should" be one in the trunk. So we had no option to charge other than to find a public charger, of which there were none in the area where we stayed. not great. We rented an electric small SUV that they gave to us not charged. They were unable to help us when we realized after driving 10 miles that the car battery was going to die. We went to the only gas stations with chargers and we happened to be at the only WaWa in the area that didn't have a charger. So we drove back to the airport with the charge so low it just said "Low" and didn't give mileage anymore, then had to pay the difference for a new car. The worst part was we were there to see family in the hospital and had a limited amount of time and missed visiting hours that day because we were dealing with the hertz mess. After my sister complained to the counter person she offered no apology and gave me some certificate for 40$ toward my next rental car with Hertz. Not gonna happen.Reviewed May 27 2023

Pick up was all about upspending. Not comfortable Drop off in Punta Gorda was very unprofessional. Poor signage no worker dark unsafe and keydrop was as you left the lot. Should have been near cars as we had to go back and get keysReviewed May 14 2023

The key pick was a little confusing. The parking garage office said platinum members go inside, when I asked a Hertz employee where I get my keys she told me I had to go inside. After waiting 15 minutes, I was told the keys were in the vehicle.Reviewed May 8 2023

There was a mix up on the drop off of the car. We had selected same drop off when making our reservation. We were told only because we asked that it had to be dropped off at a different location! We could not rebook or change it at the airport - instead we were told to call a 1-800 number which I did and after getting transferred around, was told I had to call the location where we were suppose to drop it off at. I did that. They told me they couldn’t do anything about it and that they didn’t think it would be a problem for us to take it back to the airport - but they couldn’t promise we wouldn’t be charged extra fees! So then I tried calling the airport - several times and they never once answered the phone! We ended up having to drop the car off in the city and getting a ride to the airport. Very disappointing and frustrating that I talked to no less than 4 people - none of which could help.Reviewed Apr 26 2023

The person who checked me out told me I had fuel forgiveness but I got charged $70 for bringing it back with 3/4 of a tank and Hertz says they made no notes so it stands and the location is impossible to get a person on the phone to discuss.Reviewed Apr 24 2023

Where do I start? Worse experience ever. Went to the airport hertz counter and they said the hertz we were put in was off the airport. Took a cab there and after a F’ing $60 cab ride in a bad side of town, they said they had no cars. WTF. After waiting 2 1/2 hrs we get a POS car with 50k miles on it.
