Eppley Omaha Dollar Rental not reputableCons:First no issues with Kayak website or service. Omaha Eppley Dollar Car Rental is independently owned. Returned car at 4:30 AM to catch a 6:00 AM flight. Time is before any lot attendant is on duty but knew this in advance and where to return keys. Dollar claims the car wasn't returned until after 6:00 AM and then tried to charge an extra $80 for apparently 2+ extra hours when I originally had the car for 5 days @ $154. I'm pretty sure they do this to all their unsuspecting customers when there is after hours return of vehicle. Called them twice, manager (Crystal) never returned my first time. Second time, the service person said they were not authorized to remove charges - only the manager could do that - the same person who refused to return my call. Just disputed with my credit card company rather than waste my time with a dishonest company. Won't be doing any business with them in the future. Buyer beware.Reviewed Sep 12 2017

Pros:The second car, a Chevy Malibu, was a nice car.Cons:The dashboard lights on the first car, a Toyota Camry, lit up on the first day, telling me that my anti-lock braking system, blind spot monitors, and collision warning system weren't functioning properly, and I lacked windshield wiper fluid. So I called Dollar and talked to maintenance. They asked me if the car was still running "normally," and I said, "yeah," I hadn't gotten into a wreck yet, so they said I could keep driving it if I wanted to! I asked them if I could return it, and they said they would give me a new one and a discount if I did that. So that night I tried to return the car, but then they told me all they had left was a pickup truck, so I had to come back to return the Camry the next morning and pick up the Malibu. This only set me back about a 1/2 hour on my travel schedule, but they discounted me a whole $7.80 for my inconvenience! I was told that "this happens sometimes on Camrys," although it's the first time that I've ever heard of it. I don't think I was prepared to drive several hundred miles that week, much of it in rain, with dashboard lights saying the car was basically "out of service." Dollar should spend more time maintaining their cars instead of waiting for them to break down.Reviewed Oct 24 2019

Stop at the booth to get the keys. They're not inPros:Car was nice and worked perfectly.Cons:When I picked up the car, the agent told me about a 200 mile/day limit that I was unaware of. The agent was sure to point out that it was my mistake for missing the information. They should have been more helpful in addressing the problem instead of defending their role in it. (When I went back later to see where it states there's a 200 mile/day limit, I still couldn't find it anywhere.) I was also charged $19 more than expected. When I called about it, the agent was unable to help me and gave me another number to call tomorrow. Also, when picking up, the agent should tell the customer "Stop at the Dollar booth in the garage to get the keys." I was not told that and I walked a long way to the car to find it without keys. It was extremely cold and I had my kid with me. We walked around to find help. The person in the Dollar booth said, "You need to stop here first.". Thanks a lot. By the time I got in the car to begin my vacation, I was so heated and frustrated that it took a couple hours for me to cool off, forget the bad experience and start enjoying my trip. The car was awesome, but the pick-up process was pretty rough.Reviewed Jan 5 2016

Excellent service at a great pricePros:The Buick we rented was new in perfect condition. Picking up the car and dropping it off was very easy. Before I rented I compared prices and pickup/dropoff locations. Dollar was comparable to the leading car rental companies at a much lower daily rate.Reviewed May 16 2017

Watch for the hidden feesPros:The type of vehicle that we had.Cons:There was almost $200 in additional fees they tried to charge from the rate kayak gave me $283 and in reality they wanted $460. It's a franchise so good luck with any corporate help. Cons:The salesman at the counter was less than truthful about the weather conditions and convinced me to pay for a 4-wheel drive car I ended up not needing. The car wasn't cleaned out from the previous renter when I picked it up. There was still road salt in the back and that got all over my suitcase.Reviewed Feb 10 2018
