Cons: The rental office closed at 1 am, and our flight was delayed from an original arrival time of 12:30. I had called them ahead to explain that my initial arrival was changed to 12:30 AM, and they didn't tell me that the rental counter closed at 1 am. This left not only me but other stranded at the airport, and I had to take a Lyft into town an hour away.

Pros: Staff was great on pickup. I picked it up at night and walked around the car to inspect for dings. I did not notice a small ripple in the front panel due to the darkness. When I returned the car they accused me of producing the damage. I wish there was a camera system or something that could end this subjective inspection process with rentals. It’s too difficult on business travel to manage a faulty inspection process. What’s to stop rental companies from sneaking in these minor ripples that will go unnoticed for night pickups and stick consumers with faulty claims?

Pros: Staff were great and super helpful. Rental counter was quick and courteous. Return process was super fast and easy. The car functioned great, was upgraded with all the newest features and was great on gas.Cons: The inside of the car was super clean, but there were some weird marks on the driver's side window that interfered with visibility a bit. Ultimately wasn’t a huge issue but maybe would have taken the time to remove that before renting it.

Cons: I chose the option where the company chooses the car. They put me in a Hyundai Accent that wasn’t clean at all and had 40,000+ miles on it. I took pictures before of the outside because it was all dinged up and dirty. When I dropped off the car they were looking for r the outside and commented about dents and dings on the outside as if I did them. I showed them the pictures I took and they stopped asking. Poor service. Felt taken advantage of since I choose the option for them to choose the car even though the price was on a couple dollars less then the normal price.

Pros: Pick up was a bit of a challenge, O’Hare is a bit of a maze to get to the car rentals. However the car was super clean and new, and the drive went without a hitch! The staff were friendly and helpful, the underage fee was higher than listed online (around $40) but overall not too much pricier than a flight.Cons: If additional fees were listed online it would make for fewer surprises at checkout.

Pros: The price of the rental and ease of return.Cons: The vehicle was not cleaned prior to pickup. There was only one staff member for multiple agencies. The line was excruciatingly long. The young man on duty did his best but had NO support staff.

Cons: Booked at reservation for 5:00pm pickup. Arrived exactly at 5:00. Light out, doors locked, place closed. Paper sign on door said closes at 5:00. Why did they let me reserve for 5:00 pickup? No call, no text, no email. You kind of think Hertz would do better. The system (and employees) has to know we were picking up at 5:00

Pros: The vehicle was clean.Cons: Agents tried to say we rented a car and not an SUV. Then after having to show the the receipt they agreed to giving us what we paid for. Next they made my wife buy insurance even though we bought insurance when we booked the vehicle. Again I had to show receipt and demand a refund. Not sure if they were trying to swindle people or if they were just incompetent.

Cons: The rental office was closed for the day. I scheduled a pickup for Noon, and the office closed at noon. I arrived at 12:05, and wasn't able to get my rental and needed to book a second rental for my trip. Why would you allow me to book a rental pickup at the time when the office is closed???

Pros: Initially $200 deposit was charged to my account in addition to the rental charges on the day of pick-up. Was told it would be refunded the day after I returned the van (Monday). The van was returned on Sunday... on Monday an additional $100 was charged & now again today Tuesday an additional $100 is charged to my credit card.

Pros: Staff was responsive and apologetic once we notified them that our car had not been cleaned since the previous user turned it in.Cons: So the initial Nissan Armada that we were given had not been cleaned, so they were quick to switch us to a Tahoe. The full size SUV description said 7 people and 4 bags, so I assumed Suburban or the equivalent. In actuality you will be able to fit one large and one roller board behind the third row. I was surprised that there was not a cleaning protocol for the rental... even the second “cleaned” car had a dusty steering column and dash, so it was obvious that it had not been wiped down. Be prepared to do your own sanitizing.

Pros: The only thing I liked was my refundCons: Communication that the place closed right at noon my pick up was at noon I was there at noon and the doors were already locked they were unable to give me another car anywhere in Omaha even though they had cars available at the airport they refused to give me one and they said that I should’ve been there before noon well they should’ve communicated that to me or kayak.

Cons: Absolutely awful experience. After waiting in line for 45 minutes to pick up my vehicle 30 minutes after the business closed, I told the Hertz employee that I wanted to prepay for gas. It's my fault in the end that I didn't read the contract, but I trusted that he did what I asked and I was already there 30 minutes past close. I brought the vehicle back on E and was changed $200 by Hertz to fill it up. I've made several calls to their horrible customer service people and have been told "too bad, you signed the contract." Supervisors refuse to call me back, and I will never rent from Hertz again.

Cons: First, their computer didn’t work at check-in. Then, it was a typical “bait and switch”. I reserved a “standard” size vehicle (advertised as a Chevy Malibu or similar) but got a Kia Soul, which I hate.The car wasn’t clean, the gas tank was only half full when got it. Never again with Dollar!

Pros: The second car, a Chevy Malibu, was a nice car.Cons: The dashboard lights on the first car, a Toyota Camry, lit up on the first day, telling me that my anti-lock braking system, blind spot monitors, and collision warning system weren't functioning properly, and I lacked windshield wiper fluid. So I called Dollar and talked to maintenance. They asked me if the car was still running "normally," and I said, "yeah," I hadn't gotten into a wreck yet, so they said I could keep driving it if I wanted to! I asked them if I could return it, and they said they would give me a new one and a discount if I did that. So that night I tried to return the car, but then they told me all they had left was a pickup truck, so I had to come back to return the Camry the next morning and pick up the Malibu. This only set me back about a 1/2 hour on my travel schedule, but they discounted me a whole $7.80 for my inconvenience! I was told that "this happens sometimes on Camrys," although it's the first time that I've ever heard of it. I don't think I was prepared to drive several hundred miles that week, much of it in rain, with dashboard lights saying the car was basically "out of service." Dollar should spend more time maintaining their cars instead of waiting for them to break down.

Pros: Staff didn't pay attention to my reservation on KAYAK, and were clueless about the insurance coverage I purchased from KAYAK. They overcharged me, even though I gave them all the reservation number, insurance policy number and overall charges and left it in their drop box with the keys to the vehicle. I will never rent a car from that location again.Cons: Everything. I even called the Enterprise location after I booked the reservation on KAYAK, and they seem to have had that information on Tuesday (the 12th) but didn't have a clue by Friday (the 15th) which was the pickup date. I wasn't instructed on my follow up call on Tuesday that any paperwork or confirmations were needed. Sad state of affairs, I would think the Enterprise District Manager for that location would be on top of those types of errors.

Pros: The car pick up was at the airport and I did not need to use a shuttle, there was not much of a line so it was quickCons: The guy giving me the keys was rather high pressured with wanting me to take his insurance which I declined because my personal insurance and even my visa covers me, he asked to see my insurance card and quized me on who my insurance was through, which was odd. He also tried to sell the gas return option rather enthusiastically, felt like there was a commission on extras. Car smelled awful, like old cigarettes and body odor. Back seats dirty. It was a very dated SUV that drove rough. Wiper blade on driver side needed replaced badly. And all this for a high price.

Pros: You allowed me to book a pickup/drop off time that was at the end of that location’s normal working hours. They changed my pickup and drop off location. To the airport. The airport location completely changed my reserved vehicle type to something “not similar” and less fuel efficient.Cons: Fulfill any one of the promises made in the reservation... changed pickup location, wrong car type, changed drop off location. Clerk was rather rude when I asked why I couldn’t have what I reserved.

When we checked our car for scratches, there were several, so we had to flag a Payless rep. She was excellent - immediately went to get another car and made sure we were satisfied. HOWEVER, the car obviously hadn't been washed. We didn't mind, but. . .

Pros: The vehicle was awesomeCons: I was late, called 7 times to the local branch, but it kept going to the call center. The call center didn't have the answer and ended up costing me double because nobody could answer a phone call. Did talk to a manager that told me they were closed and have it returned by opening og the next day, that was a lie so now I will be filing complaints with every office i can, starting with bbb and file a claim with to get a refund.

Pros: Counter Staff was amazing. Very customer oriented at the time of rental.Cons: Car smelled of marijuana once it sat out in the sun. I called this in Day 1 after the car was sitting in the sun and the smell was overwhelming. As soon as I got through being on hold the representative told me they noted the smell to my account and then they hung up. I wanted to swap cars, but I did not have time to call back as I was travelling on business. Then when I returned the car they emailed me my receipt. Upon review of the receipt I was charged for a tank of gas when I had turned the car in with a full tank. Called the local number on my receipt ... Put on hold..... Then hold again for them to verify .... "They made a note and corporate would email me in 3 to 5 days, the charges are already in." So in a nutshell dirty car and overcharged.

Pros: The new Nissan Pathfinder was the best rental car I've driven, great choice! I needed something bigger than a mid-size SUV, but I didn't want a big Tahoe or Suburban, so the Pathfinder was the perfect size and a wonderful leather interior. I'll be back hoping to get the same in the future!Cons: Nothing!

Lost a future customer over $5Cons: I picked Payless because they said they were based at the terminal (Omaha) and the others mentioned a shuttle. Payless had a desk at the terminal but it was not staffed and instead had directions to the same shuttle as all of the others. Plus it is a bit of a pet peeve when customer service agents finish their conversation with each other before attending to the needs of the customer. Also I had asked for an extra hour on the rental to finish up my conference for which I was willing to pay the hourly rate of $5. They said if I was 1 minute over I would have to pay for an extra day. I left my conference early to get it there on time (3 minutes early). Instead of them getting a little extra for the hour, they got no extra, and they got one less customer for life over $5.

Will never rent from them again.Cons: Car battery died not once, but twice in three days s was quoted $81 including taxes and fees, ended up being just over $200. Dropped off the car and was asked about a chip in the windshield, one that was there when i picked up the car. Total nightmare, will never rent from them again.

Pros: Long line at pick-up with only one person working. The agent was unflappable and very friendly/professional to everyone. Drop-off was a breeze. Car was awesome.Cons: Pre-covid we were frequent flyers and have been to the CWS many times. I understand everything cost more now for various reasons but felt the car rental price was ridiculously inflated.

Pros: After long walk to the counter, the sign directed me to go directly to the garage where I waited with my family, sweating in the humidity, for 30 minutes while they sorted out their janky computer system. I ultimately got a mini-van despite reserving an Full size SUV, along with a whopping dose of apathy from the staff.Cons: Give me what I reserved, and don’t make me stand 30 mins in my own sweat to do it

Pros: Staff at the booth helpful, but billing was completely different than he explained. There was a $50 no cancellation fee charged that should not have been applied. The agent also told me that if I returned the car by 7:30 Sunday night, I would be charged for one less day ($30 less). So I was over billed a total of $80 on this rental agreement.Cons: They need to say what they mean, and back it up with their words. I tried calling them Monday, May 18, stayed on hold for over 30 minutes, then disconnected when an agent finally answered. Because of this experience, we will not use Avis again. I also have to question Kayak on this as well.

Pros: Pick up was fine, the late night staff was nice. The car was the right size for our needs.Cons: We reserved a luxury vehicle and got a full size vehicle. The radio mechanics didn’t work, the car was filthy on the outside, there was a star in the windshield and other body damage that was not gone over with us at pick up. Drop off was complicated after hours. I didn’t have the paperwork to fill out with me so had to leave the garage and find my uber who was circling the airport waiting for me and then take it back up. There was no pen provided to fill out this mandatory paperwork so I had to scrounge one up. Just a disappointing experience overall.

Pros: Nothing at allCons: No agents at the desk upon arrival. Booth agent Matt was unprofessional, not helpful, and unfriendly. Unable to reach customer service by phone. My reservation was cancelled and I rented with a competitor for less money. Customer service experience was terrible overall.

Cons: I rented the car on line for a stated rate. When I arrived at the counter I was charged a higher rate. The counter attendant pointed out that the online vendor did not charge enough in fees. When I pointed out that, that was not problem and that I should get the lower rate, she told me that she would send my appeal to a supervisor for review. I received an email the following day with a commitment from the supervisor to honor the online rate. So while it worked out well, I was surprised by the disjoint between the online quote and the Thrifty direct price.
