Insurance is ridiculous. Is practically mandatory
Pros: The car was great The employee was very kind
Cons: Insurance for third parties is ridiculous. The limit is $ 100,000 which is practically zero. In Italy that it is not a rich country the statutory minimum is € 5 million. is practically mandatory additional insurance (SLI) which costs $ 18 / day plus tax. In addition the policy on the damage to the car (Kasko) is extra.

Great service, poor automobile and pickup procedur
Pros: Great pickup personnel at desk and with drop off. The car they gave me was not in the space they told me, it was parked next to it in overflow parking. I got all the way packed, inspected and to the gate before someone told me I was in wrong car. Cost me an hour to get it straightened out.
Cons: See above to start. The car was in poor shape. Banged up rear fender and missing hub cap. It had almost 31,000 miles on it.

Second rental same results
Pros: Customer service was good but car was poor. Lots of scratches and dings, interior tire pressure warning light on the entire time.

Outside service awful
Pros: Free upgrade to larger, nicer car.
Cons: After inside paperwork was done, was told to go outside and find attendant. Finally found her texting someone in one of the cars at which point she took my paperwork, examined the the parking spot and led me to a nice car. Unfortunately it was the wrong one, discovered by the gate agent. Took me another 45 mins to get out of lot. Upon check in, the attendant was absent again, finally found her texting again in another car.

Worst rental ever
Cons: Customer service and rules are aweful. I reserved a car with this company cuz it was cheaper and spent 20$ for taxi to get ther but wasn't able to pick it up because have been told that I have to have my own insurance even can't buy it from them therefore didn't get qualified even tho there was no mention of it on confirmation. How can I have insurance or what am I going to do with that if don't have a car, that's why I'm renting it. So I ended up paying triple price of what I suppose to pay with reservation.

Pros: The car was clean and what we expected
Cons: The price on the booking did not reflect the final amount paid. Taxes and other fees were not including in the booking leading to a wrong comparison with other possibilities.

Overpriced, not worth the money
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: My experience with Advantage rentals has been terrible. This was the third time I rented a car from them and the service is no good, they have a lot of hidden charges. These charges are from Advantage as well as the third party website that I book from, (Kayak in this case) The cars are not even clean and they really do not have much of a choice in selection. Its been a totally disappointing experience and I will never be renting or recommending Advantage to any of my friends again. Made my trip a terrible experience as I had to shell out a lot of money just for the car rentals, and also getting a dirty car for my money. NOT WORTH IT.

Pros: Jennifer, the young lady who received me at the time I was picking up the car made a great impression and was really helpful and professional. I rented from many others locations in recent months and she made this really unique. Working in hospitality, I can tell she knows how to relate to the client which is important.

Pros: Had to change plans last minute because we got bumped from our flight and flew to a different airport. Call and within 5 minutes had another reservation. Received great personal service and drop off was less than 5 minutes. Will certainly rent again from Enterprise.

Cons: We got overcharge almost $200 of fees because the Entreprise representative instead of telling us that we were in the wrong location made a new contract without telling us and did not honored our reservation at all Result instead of paying $239.16 all charges included we end up paying $423.16 Shady people Would never go with this company again

Wrong pickup location
Pros: The pickup Kayak assigned me was to an enterprise office not at Newark airport but would have involved a 20 min cab ride across town with all my luggage. Luckily the enterprise staff at Newark were very helpful. My booking wasn't transferable but they were able to find me a booking at a similar price. I had to pay more though.
Cons: Kayak pickup location is not at the airport.

Pros: Car was in super condition and clean. Drop off was smooth as silk!
Cons: Pick up - the lines were too long and there weren't enough attendants. Wifi did not work at the pick up location. Also, although they advertised Sirius Radio and wifi hotspot in the car, neither of these worked. They also did not offer us the EZ Pass options and it resulted in long lines at toll booths.

Cons: I have gold status. I entered my number, hit the icon for getting a discount and the quoted price more than doubled!! Started over and reserved at the price obtained on Kayak. Then I don't get credit for the rental. Pretty unique way to treat a customer.

More explicit information when a car only seats 2
Cons: When I arrived, I was told I booked a car that only seated 2 people. I can't imagine making that oversight when I was intentionally booking a car suitable for 4 people traveling with me. The other person in my party booked the same and had the same incident. I don't know if it was Hertz doing a bait and switch or if the process on Kayak was not transparent, but I hope there can be more clarity upfront so we don't feel foolish or taken advantage of. I've booked with Hertz many times before and this was the first time this occurred, and I wouldn't note it if it hadn't happened to both groups who made a Kayak reservation.

Simply bad miscommunication as well we bad informa
Cons: I waited in line at 3AM for 40 minutes, because they are short staffed. they put me over the phone with a live representative. She was not very helpful at all and asked that I have to wait 30 minutes to get my car. Meanwhile, the counter person was helpful enough, but then told me that they cannot accept debit cards!!?! Asked me to come back at 6PM to pick up the vehicle. He told me if I can't do that, go ahead and go to the next stop and get it from someone else, because no one at this terminal would take debit. Also he claimed that I can call hertz and get the pre-paid refund, which later I found out is not true. Nonetheless, after an hour30 minutes, I left with no car, no reservation, in the middle of the airport. So I walked over to Alamo, and they basically rented me the same car with the same price and took my debt.

Poor Service at EWR Pickup

Cons: Very poor customer service at the counter and kiosk at Newark. Poor service prolonged the paperwork, and the price and billing were not correct. The car was fine, and dropoff was okay. Didn't get the value for my money I expected via Kayak

Very Disappointed
Pros: Drop off was quick
Cons: I spent more than an hour in line to pick up my car. Only a few people working, and several people in line. The following day, my tire was flat. They told me to go exchange the car after roadside assistance came to put the spare on. The nearest exchange place was an hour away, so for the sake of time, I had the tire fixed at a local tire shop and decided to suck up the cost. Unfortunately the tire went flat again the following day, so I had roadside assistance change the tire and I went to exchange the car. It was 2 1/2 hours of my time--late for a business dinner--oh well. The initial car ran hard (I was driving a compact ford) and was very uncomfortable. It only had 34k miles on it, but it ran like a much older car. The new car was much better and more comfortable. But as I was driving again (in the middle of nowhere) I found that that car's tire had a slow air leak.

Pros: Easy pick-up/drop-off. Convenient access to Budget office via Newark Skytrain. Surprised by lack of assistance in locating car and checking out of the lot. Decent car make/model in great working condition.

Pros: Both pickup and dropoff were excellent - quick and efficient.
Cons: Although car was clean throughout a previous driver or passenger must have been a smoker as there was a lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Car felt like it had more than 15k miles on it but that might just have been the model or the car.

Pros: The car I reserved was not ready when I get there. I was told no definite time I have to wait. I waited for more than 45 minutes and they try to force me to take the compact with the same charge. I had no choice but took it. They finally offer me 50$ deduction for the entire 8 days rental period.( $6 / day discount). Reception was not friendly at all.

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: The cars were bad. The staff was rude. The call center was unable to help at all. And they give you a faulty car on purpose then charge you for the fix. I would suggest you look somewhere else.

Hope it doesn't rain when you return a car.
Cons: On the day that we returned the car, it was raining. There a no covered shelters to return your car. Although the check in process was quick it was not thorough. We were drenched when we got in the car rental terminal and so was our baggage. Totally unenjoyable experience and then having to board your flight wet.

Cons: I was told that the fuel option could be removed from my final bill if I brought the car back with a full tank and showed a receipt proving I filled up with 10 miles of the drop off location. I did as such but was told I was misinformed and they would not remove the fuel option charge. I will not be renting from here again as this cost me an additional $40.

Feel mislead on insurance by Kayak
Cons: I brought insurance as advertised on kayak but when I got to the pick-up I found out this didn't even cover third party and was told I had to pay extra on arrival to cover this. Actual feel mis-sold by the whole fiasco

Pros: New, clean car. Returning was easy enough I guess.
Cons: I feel like they are dishonest with regard to fees. They upsell insurance hard and it's not needed for almost everyone. Also, they charge an absurd amount to use EZ-pass which is very convenient in the tristate area. Ridiculous and inconvenient. Other rental companies don't charge for EZ-pass (including zipcar).

Pros: When I went to the assigned space the car wasn't there. An employee was driving by and stopped immediately and got me a different car and sent me on my way with very little delay and was extremely nice and helpful. He was great and made me happy to use Thrifty again in the future, he was a perfect example of good customer service.
Cons: The ladies' bathroom was not very nice with one of the toilets clogged and the floor was wet.

Cons: the front passenger tire blew out while I was driving and the spare had a leak so it would not hold air. got a trade in and the tires on it were also poor. bad air leaks. the maintenance people are not checking to see if tires are good to put on cars. sales people did not care about my complaints and did nothing to make me want to come back. no discounts or refunds. bad customer service.

Cons: They have added ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE PLAN without any notification. When I initially booked, mu time and mileage fee was quoted as $183.00 for the 15 days. Instead Payless, charged me $313.And also they added Road side assistance plan.When I called them to cancel this optional plan with phone I could not reach them.

This was just a drop off point for me
Pros: I pulled up and they scanned the car barcode and took it back right away.
Cons: The roads in and out of Newark airport are annoying and the signs suck, they are small and posted last minute and I mistakenly went west instead of east of 78 and got delayed another 10 minutes back-tracking

Cons: The car they sent us to was already being loaded by another customer. The second car the parking lot attendant told us to tell the counter agent to rent us was already rented. We didn't get a car until the third one and had to wait in line a second time. Rental was by Budget agent, who seemed more annoyed than helpful. No agent at Payless desk.

Worst rental car company ever
Pros: Didn't like anything
Cons: The manager was rude and when I tried to pick up a confirmed rental, I was told there were no cars. I had a confirmation number, but she said that couldn't help me. This was the Payless rental at Newark airport. Went to the next counter and rented through budget. Don't book with them!

Cons: Outrageously poor service and an infuriating experience Who are the clowns operating this half-baked rental car business out of Newark Airport? I'm guessing they're evil, whoever they are. When I arrived to claim my reserved car they lied about what my original reservation details were so that they could try to up-sell me into a more expensive contract. Try to get your head around that? The attendant was so rude, she wouldn't make eye contact, and she lectured me with her idiotic company-fed lines until finally accepting that the scam wasn't going to work on me. I eventually got my car as reserved, but it stank like smoke. Absolutely horrific.

Pros: Drop off was super easy
Cons: Called a month ahead of trip and asked if debit cards are accepted. Was informed that they would accept a debit card but a higher deposit is required. No problem there, but upon arrival was then told I'd be charged an extra $30 per day on top of the higher deposit for the daily damage waiver insur.

Pros: The price; Personnel at time of return were very nice.
Cons: Return site not at airport and difficult to navigate to. Was unable to return to any other airport. Confusion over whether I was renting from Economy or DriveGo or something like that. Could not find the address using "Economy Rent a Car" on the internet. No gas stations nearby to fill up tank. Personnel at time of pick up made me feel like they were doing me a favor.

Pros: The employees were really nice and friendly.
Cons: It took 40 minutes from the time i called for the airport shuttle to pick me up. The damage inspection was completed in a dark parking lot, which made me nervous, as it was difficult to get a good look at the car. They just need another light out there. The car itself had a few minor issues, but nothing majorly wrong.

Be care with this place!
Cons: When I found the place (not easy), I was informed that I had to pay more for unlimited miles!! According to the rep. I was from New York and that was considered local?? They are in New Jersey which is a different STATE! They claimed that priceline was the middle man and they had no control of this. Ridiculous! About an hour car ride to get there. They tried to get me to accept their insurance plan and had to call my insurance to stop them. They video taped the condition of the car which was fine...until someone on the premises told me, "if I were you I would video tape also! I know what I'm telling you". I quickly took my cell phone out and recorded. I felt ripped off by this place because I had to pay much more for a car deal that indicated that it was unlimited miles. Make sure you ask one hundred questions before you decide to do anything with economy.

A struggle
Pros: The price was the original reason for me booking this unknown rental car company.
Cons: Unfortunately, it ended up not being worth the struggle. From the pick up to the drop off, everything was difficult. To the shuttle bus taking 20 minutes to pick me up... the $40 ticket for expired registration on the car (to which I do not plan on paying)... broken pieces in the car ... to a 30 minute drop off because I showed up at 8:30pm!!? And trying to get help in getting to the right area was beyond frustrating.

Off -airport location takes some time
Pros: Staff were really helpful and kind. Car was fine. Price was significantly less than others.
Cons: Car had overpowering air freshener smell -- we couldn't get rid of it. Stenchy. Off airport location took extra hassle to find their shuttle (not with other off-airport rentals. Don't take the air train!).

Pros: Nice clean car; great check-in with video of car before it left the lot. Shuttle that picks you up goes through many back lots & it is difficult to orient yourself. When asking about drop-off they say use mapquest. Just need to say it is next to Holiday Inn -- Bingo!
Cons: Drop off was a nightmare! I missed my flight but I was actually within 3 miles of the location an hour and a half prior to my departure. I called the number for Drivo and there was 1 person, heavy accent and did not know area. I called back several times and got different instructions. Last call (too late for my flight) told to look for Holiday Inn--Voila!

Pros: Pick-up counter was a nightmare-- we waitied 30 minutes. They were woefully understaffed, and all but one of the staff was ridiculously slow. The location is also very difficult to access when returning the car. It's like some kind of google map exercise to see if you can actually find the drop-off
Cons: More staff, or at least one that felt some sense of urgency. Unfortunately, the location issue is a bigger issue with Newark Airport.

Pros: drop off was ok
Cons: At the pick up location, they did not recognise the insurance that we had paid for online and tried to sell us a much more expensive insurance. When we said that this was not our experience with other car rentals that we had done in the same month she asked us to go to the competition instead.

Pros: I liked the price of the car. And the car itself I was upgraded to since mine was unavailable. The woman at the counter was polite enough, but The rest was lacking in general.
Cons: When I picked up the car the woman was polite enough but didn’t have the car I rented available. I was provided with an upgrade so it worked out but then she didn’t fully explain the gas prepay option (aka you get no money back even if you return it still half full) since it is in the fine print of a pamphlet they also don’t give you. Then I was told where the car was, but no one did a walk around of the vehicle. No one showed me where the key features were or anything really.

Pros: Very nice, low-mileage, well maintained car. Courteous agents. No real problems at either end of the rental. Since it was a one-way rental, I had to choose either Hertz or Avis, and Avis had the best price of the two.

Cons: I was able to reserve a car on line to drive from Manhattan to Cleveland. I even received a confirmation number. When we called to verify, we were then told that we could not have a car with a one way trip to Cleveland. I then received 2 texts and 2 phone calls requesting that I forward my information regarding the rental. During the last phone call, requesting "where I was" it was indeed clarified that I could not rent the car one way to Cleveland and the person on the line would just cancel the rental "for me". Really? It was confusing and frustrating.

Pros: Car was good
Cons: Pickup - attendant was rude and abrasive when picking up. Drop off - extremely rude attendant when dropping off. The entire staff did not want to be there. I had to call an Uber backvto the airport bc there was no shuttle available. When I asked about the shuttle they brushed me off. I almost missed my flight and anniversary dinner bc of them

Cons: Attendant at location was unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude enough that I opted to cancel my reservation and make other arrangements. I can't say anything about the vehicle itself since I was never in it.

Cons: Please ensure that u add additional time to your booking in the beginning itself. They charged me for 2 whole additional days for returning the car about 3 hours late. Also, the Audi Q3 is not the best option for a long drive. The car hydroplaned massively on wet road conditions in upstate NY. Seat quality and ride quality left a whole lot to be desired. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. Wouldn’t be recommending.
