Pros: The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.

Cons: The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not.
It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold.
We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste.
So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.

Cons: I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.

Breakfast exceeded my expectations. They give you a little menu to choose from PLUS there’s a little buffet bar of meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, and jams. It was perfect and included in the cost already. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved that the room key had to be inserted to use the lights— environmental friendly!

The room was explained to us as very small and not much room to do anything and if we wanted to upgrade to a standard double room it would cost 25e. We decided to stick with the cozy room and it didn’t disappoint. Bed was up against the wall but there was more than enough room for two people. Bathroom was nice and spacious and bed very comfy.

Cons: Room 203 was very small for a couple, could not order room service breakfast as there was no where to eat it, missed this treat. Room extremely stuffy, and couldn't sleep much due to some extractor outside that was going all nite. Shower over bath we could not use as even at coolest setting was still too hot, so we used the mixer tap shower attachment on the bath. Think I will try Isaccs hotel across the road next time.

Cons: Parking is a bit of an issue as there isn’t a lot of room outside the property. It was also quite noisy with people talking loudly in the hall / the room next door from 7am onwards.

Cons: Parking is very limited - we didn't get parked in (thank goodness) but if more guests had cars, it would have been a bit of a logistical challenge.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We booked our stay last-minute and they did their best to accommodate us and got us a cheaper rate than what we had booked. Each person that we talked to at reception gave us helpful tips for our trip and made some great recommendations!

We had a room with an ensuite, though we didn't know it was an ensuite until we were leaving...oops. We just never thought to look. The bathrooms attached to the rooms are much nicer than the public bathrooms.
Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. I believe it was 3 or 5 euros each.

Pros: The location was so accessible, there is a hill on the way up but it’s not bad all. It’s near all the best restaurants and pubs and you only need to cross the bridge to get to all the high street shops. The staff were lovely and welcoming. Its a great place to stay if you are traveling alone, everyone mingles and chats in the evening.

Cons: The bathrooms were not the cleanest and could definitely do with a good scrub. The dorm i was in had very high windows and were open and we were unable to close them which meant there was a bad draft, However this would not stop me from staying here again.

Cons: Security is way over top, have to leave key at desk, street door locked after 11pm and have to summon night porter to be allowed back in after night out. From 7am the inter-staff intercom went off again and again from behind wall of my room. I wanted to sleep in, have leisurely breakfast and checkout but the intercom blaring and crackling while cleaning staff talked to each other was disruptive and annoying. The "discount" hotel advertises for Carroll's Quay carpark to avoid their private parking in traffic jam only took 2 euros off the parking ticket charge....12 euros to park my car from 7.30pm to 10am next morning. It was safe, at least.
