Solid old style hotel
Rooms are tired and dated
Nice lobby and downstairs
Bedrooms were very dated and needed renovation, unbearably hot, tv with very bad picture (old bulky tv) paint peeling off bathroom ceiling and nigh on impossible to get mixer tap for shower to give right temperature!
Not far from Shopping
Easy to find.Good location across the river from bus station and main shopping street and bars. RC church close by. Walking distance from train station. On site leisure facilities/swimming. Bring your gym kit as well as swimming costume. Friendly staff everywhere. Pleasant room overlooking the river. Self serve breakfast in lovely dining room, adequate choice. Impressive spacious, welcoming & luxurious foyer with relaxed atmosphere.
Fire doors in corridors noisy but understand their importance so not complaining.Prolonged smell of cigarette smoke in our room one night, penetrating from another room, I think, which I didn't like, but realised I hadn't specified non smoking room when checking in, not sure if it would have made a difference. One of the lifts was out of order.Didn't eat in bar as nothing on menu appealed to us and bar area not particularly inviting. Are you missing an opportunity?
clean room,friendly staff cant complain
Girls at reception extremelly friendly
Bar food, really really bad. Not even 2star standard. Left the ceaser salad it was so bad. Bar staff under hugh pressure
great location for bus/train and city centre
i suppose its just like most hotels nothing very personal
The room was too small for two people. It would be suited as a single room.
The location of the hotel was my prime consideration. It was perfectly placed in relation to clients that I was visiting.
Wi-fi reception was a bit hit and miss
Close to City
Parking was difficult
Our room was great, and the price was great value also. Also room service was perfect, and the food very good, and great quality.
Our room was very cold when we arrived. And we were told we couldn't have any heating until 9 o clock. which we found to be unbelieveable. We were offered a small heater, but with the bathroom to cold to enjoy a bath, before heading out, it was very disappointing, and also took the joy out of what you a hotel, which is some warmth and luxury..We had to put on extra clothes, forgoe our baths/showers, and make the best of it, but it wasn't comfortable until the next day, when the heating had been on for a while...Also we couldn't get the music system to work, and a porter checked it, and said maybe it was our Cd's? And said nothing could be done about it, as you had none to spare..which was also a bit dissapointing, as we had CDs of the band we were down from dublin to see at the marquee, and when we saw the player, were delighted as thought we could play the CDs beforehand, to find out we couldn't. Although later that evening, my husband cleaned the player, and we got it going, but leading up to going out, we were cold, and couldn't play the music...Also the bar and reception couyld be made more welcoming visually, it all looks a bit vast and cold....
