Staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Bed was very uncomfortable and the heating was not working in room.
Bar and restaurant closed where as all other hotels had them reopened.
Room was ok, good size, flat tv, good shower and bathroom though no proper shower cabin, comfortable big beds and covers, fairly good location, not exactly city centar but walking distance and right next to the river and port of Cork. There's a good work desk, only one chair though. Coffee maker was a nice plus. Girls working at the reception were friendly, greetings to kind lady who recommended me Sin E pub, last nights before the lockdown.
I asked for a room with a river view before I arrived but I did not get any reponse to my online request. Got a room on last floor overlooking office building and parking lot so curtains had to be on all the time, no privacy ! I was there in March and radiators were freezing cold most of the time and so was the room, I complained a number of times but always got response that heating was on timer(seemed to me if so that time was set on 99% off), finally got a portable heater in the following days. Sound insulation is not very good, I could hear the noise from the hallway and even knocks on my door in the middle of the night a few times, God knows who that was, I wasn't opening the door to check out ! Last day of my stay my room got a visit from 3 hotel staff, looked like an inspection, I found them coming out of my room while I was coming back from town, the 'do not disturb' sign was on the door which they obviously failed to respect... Would really like to know which hospitality college these 3 attended ?! Do not disturb mind you means just that - do not disturb and do not enter guest's room unless invited. Overall leaves a lot to be desired for 100$ per night and 4 star hotel but I guess you could do worse in anyway totally overpriced Ireland.
