10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were updated and very clean. The location was wonderful, right in the heart of beautiful Haarlem, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. A truly wonderful Amsterdam experience!
Cons: Stairs can be a little challenging, especially for the elderly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Malts Hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in in Europe (and we travel quite a bit)! The room was beautifully appointed, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and I always felt like I was staying with friends, not just in a hotel. Henk and AnneMarie were lovely hosts -- charming, helpful and informative. We loved staying here, and it set our whole stay in the Netherlands off to the right start!
Cons: Nothing! It was all wonderful!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This cosy B&B is in a great location close to the main attractions in Haarlem and an easy walk to the train station. The breakfast room (pictured) is also available for guests to have coffee or tea or snacks throughout the day.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic place to stay in Haarlem. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. The proprietors are every bit as friendly and helpful as other reviews have indicated.
Cons: We were visiting during the record-breaking heat wave (temps reached 100F/37C), so air conditioning would have been nice. This just isn’t a typical amenity in this part of Europe, so I can’t fault Hotel Malts for this, and I would happily stay here again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very welcoming, and provided excellent suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Very clean and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, superb central location. Would love to return.
Cons: Nothing - all excellent.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast ... very Dutch with cheese, meat, and eggs. Very close to central Haarlem. Easy to get to by bus from the airport. The owner gave us perfect instructions. The owner gave us good advice on what to go to.
Cons: The owner tended to advice us to go to more expensive restaurants whereas other good and cheaper places were available. The owner also tended to be somewhat racist in being negative about using a laundromat owned by a Turkish family ... which turned out to be excellent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wow we loved everything: the room, location, the owners, the breakfasts just everything
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely little hotel. Clean, spacious, quiet and comfy. Henk and Annamarie were such great hosts, a mine of information and tips about Haarlem and the property is perfectly placed to access the lot! We would definitely book again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location & amazing hosts
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, clean, comfortable beds and great hosts.
Cons: There is nothing not to like but the stairs would be a challenge for elderly people.

7,5 Good
Pros: Location,balcony
Cons: Noise and difficult staircase access
10,0 Excellent
Pros: great location, great facilities, friendly staff, Apartment with balcony. Was roomy. Been before and will book again.
Cons: Can’t really fault the property. Been many times before and will be back again in near future, but as went over heatwave weekend the room could have done with Air con, but had a fan that helped.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, easy to access and nice outdoor terrace.
Cons: Nothing.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Very noisy at night
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is located in a converted townhouse in the center of town, and the many shops and restaurants are basically within walking distance. The location is also within walking distance of the main train station, so that traveling to other cities by train is quite easy (15-20 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal).
Cons: Although it didn’t bother us, the stairs up to the suites are quite steep (as in many places in The Netherlands). If you have trouble bringing you luggage up stairs, you may consider somewhere else to stay.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff with their efficiency and accommodating attitude, thanks!
Cons: The steep stairs going up to the apartment and it was not easy to find the reception office by car, narrow roads around the canal and lots of bikes and motorcycles going in all directions!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location with lots of good restaurants, canal and tourist attractions nearby!
Cons: Steep flight of stairs going up to the apartment,,noise of the restaurant downstairs, difficult to find the reception office if you come by car
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely appartment, very friendly staff.
Cons: Bedroom was not completely dark during the night, which made it difficult for our little baby boy to fall asleep.

6,3 Good
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: 3 story flat with steep stairs. Living area in loft. Bathroom and entry on main floor. Bedroom in basement. Next to a bar so late night noise.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: One of the best I have ever stayed in, what a treat.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Large family room on top floor. Mini bar with items that were priced fairly. Staff were amazing and allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel for the day.
Cons: Noise. In the heart of pubs and restaurants. Location vs late night noise.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location central to all amenities. Stayed in 1 bed apartment overlooking street, fabulous for people watching. Shared roof top terrace, basic but great for chilling out.
Cons: Apartment is not soundproofed. Was there unintentionally during Haarlem music festival, apartment was bouncing with noise until 1am ... no chance of sleep so joined the party
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very near the Groot Kirk - nice and quirky, clean and comfortable room. Fantastic luck that by chance we arrived during Haarlem Jazz and enjoyed amazing ambience and entertainment all around the area. Would def stay here again - so much more atmospheric than an anonymous business hotel in Amsterdam.
Cons: Room with balcony was in different building (they did offer for me to move to the other building beside my colleague, so congrats to them on the great comms) and was a little 'bare' - only very minor suggestion would be that the room could have done with a couple of pictures on the wall beside the bed and something on the little balcony other than just the table and chairs.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Tout
Cons: I have nothing to complain about
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast; location could it have been better and reasonably priced secure parking that for our SUV just around the corner.
Cons: We had to use the toilet sideways as our legs were too long;0
9,2 Excellent
Pros: End of touring holiday parked at local multi storey. Booked room in building above the reception, situated in roof, large opening window- unfortunately opened on to several industrial air con units and extractor chimneys for cafe's below. Noise from these meant window had to be closed but too hot to survive like this had awful first night. Spoke with manager Nebi, very understanding moved us that day (even moved our luggage for us so we enjoy our day out) to split level suite in another building, with air con, excellent service. Easy train into Amsterdam
Cons: first room, too noisy as outside air-con never stopped
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a lovely continental breakfast with everything you could need, lovely coffee and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The decor in the room was a wonderful combination of modern and traditional and the location was brilliant just off the Groute Markt and within easy walking distance of the train station and there are many bike hiring shops in the vicinity. When I visit Haarlem again I will most definately be staying here again.
Cons: The only thing that surprised me was that our room was in a different location to the check in and the breakfast room which isnt conventional but didnt detract from my stay as the staff were so lovely and all propery loacations are nicely decorated.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location to central Haarlem, shopping, Museums and Canal.
Cons: Access via very steep stairs to 4th floor was dangerous and not easy unless you are young and fit. Our apartment was too small for 3 people and had little floor space for the bags. Bathroom was even smaller. Towels were nearly threadbare and some lights weren’t working.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location right next to the station. Very lovely hotel with great breakfast, clean rooms and cute interior.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and professional. The only thing we were not offered yet I heard offered to another patron was the snacks in the evening. Otherwise, this hotel exceeded our expectations. I will definitely be promoting this hotel to others!
Cons: No comment here.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Liked decor, generous breakfasts, so close to the station. Room was typical size for town centre hotel. However was comfortable and well appointed, with coffee machine and a proper kettle and safe. Plenty of shelves and drawers for two of us to unpack for our five night stay. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Dropping off from a car right outside the hotel is difficult. There is a side road, but finding your way to it is not straightforward. No hotel parking. Nearest carpark is three minute walk and costs 25 euros per night. (More than made up by the included breakfast).
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to station. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.

Pros: Breakfast so much variety, the room and facilities were first class and the staff were always attentive and helpful.
Cons: Early knock on the door (08.45) to clean the room, wasn't welcome but understandable, rooms have to be cleaned, especially a 315 room hotel!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Room was excellent with the best shower I've ever had in an hotel. Breakfast was sumptious. Only a 25 min walk to the old town. Lots of car parking spaces. We had dinner in the hotel which was good and very reasonably priced.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean and for the most part everyone was friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: All was good except sense I’m from the U S and spoke very little of the language. So there was some hesitation from reception staff to help us completely with our questions. I’m sure it was because they were not comfortable with English.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: An easy bus from the centre, a warm and friendly hostel with breakfast included, nice rooms. We also adored Haarlem!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The communal areas are lovely and there’s terrace by the river. The breakfast is great. The atmosphere is too. The layout is good too as the rooms are away from the noisy bar area.
Cons: Beds were uncomfortable and the drains smelt.
7,1 Good
Cons: Our room was at hall entrance and by stairs. When a group came after quiet hours at 10:00 they were incredibly loud and stomping up and down stairs for an hour. Staff didn’t seem to encourage them to be quiet. It was a rough night.
6,3 Good
Pros: Staff was so helpful and friendly They give free coffee every time And breakfast was good
Cons: It was so noisy and couldn't slept whole night People who stay in down stairs listen all the steps people walk on the upstairs all the time And people who is talking in the parking is clearly hearing to the rooms which was disturbing
6,3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and they had bike rentals on site. Rooms had bathrooms within them, and staff were helpful.
Cons: The room was so hot and humid with very little ventilation. Neither the toilet nor the shower had a fan and the window only opened a crack. It was also quite far from the centre and near a busy road.
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff very suportive, they really help with things like heating your food up late in the night in a microwave, lending you a padlock if yours does not fit into the locker, making clear what your bed is if you are not able to identify it.
Cons: The tourism tax that one must pay should be more clearly stated when booking online, so that one can effectivelly know the real and full price. Lockers should be wider because it turns difficult both storing in and removing from them full-packed bags.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I’d definitely come back.
Cons: Nothing at all.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were extremely clean and the beds comfortable

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great - right on the square in the middle of activities. The breakfasts were excellent. There is a wide choice of foods with lots of protein, fruits and bread. Staff service was excellent. Omelets were made if we requested them. They were helpful with directions and any questions we had and they stored our luggage on checkout day for 3 hours.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: excellent location right in the square at Haarlem, very good friendly staff, excellent breakfast range and excellent value for money,we were racing at zandvoort and the prices were more than double near the circuit, well worth the drive to the circuit which is only ten minutes or so away, highly recommend this hotel, not super flash luxury just did exactly what we wanted, with the added bonus of central haarlem with the busy bars and restaurants and scenic old town,
3,7 Mediocre
Cons: Had to ask for different room when we arrived first one was cold and smelled like musty mouldy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service from staff. During the night of Oct 17 or 18 I left my wallet in the lobby and staff took it and saved it for me
6,3 Good
Pros: The booking process and location were great. We were right in the centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful with a map of the city.
Cons: Although booked for specifically this reason, our room did not have a double bed. The "superior double room" had dirty walls and a dirty bed frame. Located above a noisy club (?), we didn't sleep until 4 am. The bathroom did not have a shower curtain, as a result of which everything was wet. Breakfast was medium; hard pancakes, greasy bacon and pastries (deep fried?), while the waitress cleaned a table by sweeping crumbs onto the floor. Would not go back.
7,0 Good
Pros: The location was perfect and staying in Haarlem was charming. It was very easy to take the train into Amsterdam and other cities.
Cons: The room was a little small for two people. The space would be just fine if you are traveling by yourself.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The location was great (extremely central). Breakfast was also a reasonable. Stuff were friendly and doing their best to accomodate our various needs during the stay, though there was only so much they could do.
Cons: The smell in our bathroom on arrival was horrible. Luckily, that cleared up after a day or so. It was unfortunate that the double window in the room was also broken, and the opening per se very small, so there was only so much we could do about the smell. We ended up stuffing pillows in the window to keep it at least semi-open during the night. The friendly lady at the reception agreed to look at it with us, and confirmed it was broken. The double bed we expected was just two beds put together with two very sliding mattresses on top, which of course slithered around with every move. On our first day, we found used tissues in the crack between the mattresses as they inevitably slid apart. Possibly not a problem for many guests, but very annoying for a couple's holiday. Overall, the hotel seemed to be under repairs during our stay there. The breakfast room was rather cold in the morning due to wooden constructure frames leading to the kitchen (and the outside?) instead of doors, the coffee machine was balancing on several wooden boards instead of a tablecloth.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very central.to shoping cafes bars restuarants.w
Cons: Weather.
7,9 Good
Pros: I like the location of the hotel
Cons: I thought the price was a little to much should really not top £45 a night for what is on offer
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location was fabulous! Central to everything, public transport only a short walk away, plenty of restaurants & cafes to choose from at your front door, & plenty of shopping with a good variety of stores.
Cons: Room wasn’t tidied regularly, which left us with full bins & low bathroom supplies.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the city centre makes it a great choice as your home base, while staying in Haarlem. The beds were clean and comfortable. The kettle, coffee and tea were much-appreciated amenities. The bathroom was bright and fairly clean (but slight mildew in the lower edges of the shower wall.
Cons: The carpet was blotchy and stained. The room was a bit musty. We had no view (just looked out on to the roof, in a shadowy corner, 90-degrees with at least one other window of another room). One of our towels was also stained and one of the teaspoons provided was clearly used. It was crusty with old coffee. On our second-last day, the cleaning crew didn't change out a used coffee cup and a used glass in the bathroom.

Pros: Friendly staff! Large room overlooking one of the prettiest squares in Europe. Nice breakfast and complimentary wine/soft drinks in the fridge upstairs. free hi speed wifi.Very accommodating when we shortened our stay due to a earlier flight. Highly recommend! Great value.
Cons: If you are intimidated by steep stairs and don't like the minor ambient noise that comes with a quaint B and B like this, it might not be the place for you. we are Americans in our sixties and we loved it.

5,8 Okay
Pros: Location off hotel
Cons: Workman seems to be the majority of occupants off the hotel. Very noisy during the evening and night. Breakfast not included.
6,3 Good
Pros: Relativelly OK Budget Hotel, good to stay over night when you visit tis part of Netherlands and need accomodation. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
Cons: Carpets and some other stuff could be replaced.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location for visiting lots of stuff
6,3 Good
Pros: In general, I liked the room, considering why I was there. Friendly staff, cleaning every day (not perfect, but still not bad), an ample choice of food for breakfast, considering that I am a vegan. Liked the location of the hotel.
Cons: Very small room for (as for me) overpriced. The bed is able to change position, it is interesting and comfortable for the first 2 minutes. The door lock is constantly stuck - the lock cylinder needs fixing, the door handle also dangles. Not a comfortable position of the desk, its locker rests against the left leg, and the clothes cupboard is interfering on the right. The clothes cupboard itself is in a dilapidated condition. + It also some kind of vertical ironing desk. What it for? And why is it not working? Not know. A large window to the street is very good. The only drawback associated with it was constantly smoking neighbor (I hate smoking people). In the bathroom, the lamp above the mirror did not work. Not deadly. The side glass wall is absolutely useless and brings more discomfort than convenience.
3,3 Mediocre
Cons: Very dirty hotel. It was very warm and the room didn't even have a fan. When I asked the staff to get me a fan, he tried to convince me to use the cooker hood, which gives no cool air. There was mold everywhere. And obviously the staff don't care about the bad hygiene and chaos, since it can be seen from the outside.
6,7 Good
Pros: Good start location for exploring Amsterdam and region. It is 1.2 km from train station and 400 m from bus station.
Cons: We use Quadro room and it is ok if you stay only for lodging, but not too much comfortable.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Lovely bed, very comfy. Shower was modern. Breakfast was nice, staff brought fresh croissants and made bacon especially for us since we were the last ones to come down for it.
Cons: We left a dirty towel on the floor of the bathroom to be replaced, but found that the housekeeping staff picked it up from the floor and hung it back on the railing for us to use again. The lock on the sliding door to the shared (!) balcony was broken and we told staff about this twice, but during our 4 night midweek stay it was never repaired. There were discarded chairs, couches and other things lying around the property (also on our shared balcony) which wasn't nice looking at all. Also, our dishes after our breakfast were still sitting on the table about 5 hours later, we saw them after coming back from our daytrip.
4,2 Okay
Pros: The location was good. It was the only hotel with availability in the area, but I would avoid if possible.
Cons: The smell. This hotel stinks throughout. The front door seems to have permanent smokers and drinkers loitering all day. It smells of cigarette smoke throughout, the bathrooms smelled of urine. The carpets we old and dirty. There was rubbish from the previous occupant under the beds. There was exposed wiring. The furniture was old and tatty. The bathrooms showed mould at various places. There was a thick layer of dust in the bathrooms proving they were not cleaned properly at all. The lighting in the halls were dim and dingy, the furniture was creepy. Breakfast was only available from after 9am! and items like yogurts were left out in the warm all day. It was horrendous. We were offered €100 in compensation, but given how much we were over charged in the first place, this was frnaktly the bare minimum we deserved.
7,5 Good
Pros: Room was so big and it is good if we bring family
Cons: It is very far with station, difficult for kids to walk away to the station, in fact at that time is raining, poor them
4,6 Okay
Pros: Close to some excellent restaurants
Cons: Tired rooms, most people staying smoked on their balcony and front door creating a smoke filled atmosphere. Bar was non existent, no common area and breakfast room little more than a canteen. No hotel sign outside and parking difficult as others with trade vans taking early parking.

7,1 Good
Pros: Wet room
Cons: Two single beds just pushed together (I had requested a double bed). No tea-making facilities.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Useless kitchen. We had large kitchen area with no cutlery at all. (There was even a coffee maker, but we had no idea how to use it without cups:)
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartment, great location!
7,9 Good
Pros: The location was the best. We had a big room for the 5 of us, which was simple, but clean and comfortable. We did not reserve including breakfast.
2,5 Mediocre
Pros: terrible customer service from receptionist to the cleaner who cant clean to staff that cant organise anything for a few hours
Cons: i didnt like anything the staff were rude wich spoilt everything
7,1 Good
Pros: The location was great. Very big room.
Cons: Not clean during the stay. No mirror in the room, just in the bathroom for a room of 4 person.
7,9 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable and it was nice to have the sofa and armchair so we could relax in the room without having to get on the bed. The location is excellent - it's right in the centre.
Cons: I have two complaints. The first was that the room hadn't been cleaned properly nor the beds made properly - the sheets were missing - but when we let the reception staff know they gave us the sheets and saw to it that the room was given a good clean the following day. The second was the cooking facilities. The portable two-ringed electric cooker sits on the sink draining board and that didn't feel very safe. It was also a bit old. It also meant that there was little room for draining the cutlery and crockery. This could be easily and cheaply remedied by putting in a small worktop from the edge of the sink to the wall where the fridge sits. certainly in Room 12.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was very spacious and had a comfy sofa and armchair. The beds were also comfortable. The location is great - right by the main square, with lots of cafés and bars but sheltered from all the noise (there was a music festival during our stay). There's also a handy breakfast café right opposite the entrance.
Cons: wifi and one light not working. Although I didn't need to use it, the kitchenette in the room was very poorly equipped.
7,5 Good
Pros: The location is the best in Haarlem. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is big and suitable for a family.
Cons: The apartment could be much better if a few chairs were added, and some kitchen equipment - there is a kitchen but it is empty. One lightbulb was not working, and a sheet was missing on one of the beds. To summarize, the place could use some more attention which would make it a great place to stay.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: I forgot some important personal items in the room and didn’t get any help from the hotel to get them back.

5,8 Okay
Cons: Room was very very small
6,3 Good
Pros: The location was very nice. The bed was quite comfortable. Staff were polite. The fan in the room worked perfect and I did not feel hot in warm weather.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location for the price is excellent
Cons: Rooms are cheapish and really not in line with what you would expect from the outside.
6,7 Good
Pros: The staff were outstanding but the place needs a thorough cleaning and updating.
4,6 Okay
Pros: Staff friendly but very low in number. Not really in a position to change much about my woes. Excellent breakfast. The room had a bath.
Cons: The room was extremely noisy. I am not a light sleeper but this is ridiculous. A machine elsewhere in the building made a constant techno-like booming bass noise. Could not even be drowned by the sound of the TV. Loud talking people on the landing and slamming doors for much of the night, each and every night. To make matters worse on the last night there was a police raid in a room not far from mine. No consideration for the fact that they were in a hotel. Apparently, criminal activity had been going in that room. The rooms are hardly clean.
4,6 Okay
Cons: We were originally put in a tiny twin room that was dark and dusty. The reading lights did not work and we only had one working plug socket. The safety catch on the window was broken so it swung wide open which was potentially dangerous and the decor was incredibly depressing (brown walls and no pictures or any decoration) the tv was tiny and was positioned so that if you sat on either bed you could not see the screen so it was pointless. We had a separate bathroom that was filthy (dusty) and very damp because there was no window or extractor fan. When we complained the following morning the staff were helpful and moved us to a slightly larger room with more lamps and clean floors for our second night. The bathroom was still a bit grimy but it was an improvement on the other one. The beds were comfortable in both rooms and the sheets were clean. Because of our experience with the first room and the fact the second was not much better, I would not stay at this hotel again.
5,4 Okay
Pros: Kind and helpful staff.
Cons: Very stuffy and hot room. Dim light in room & bathroom. Most of accessories broken. No wardrobe. Poor breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: 1.I had room 106. When I had the window ajar, the smoke from the people who were smoking on or near the terrace downstairs, came into my room. 2. The bass sounds of the music played on Saturday night were far too loud; I could feel the trembling in my room.

8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the view from the room was beautiful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast included could be better seeing as they are a hotel and restaurant combo. We expected that they would at least serve warm food on the breakfast buffet. Also I'd probably suggest that they should stop using paper cups for their guests as it really makes the place appear rather cheap. I believe that is not what it is supposed to be. It is a good place to stay, I enjoyed my time, but they only have to raise their standards and quality of service a bit.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: The hotel and the room were poorly cleaned, there was no cleaning service and for the price we paid we do not believe it is good value for money.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: such a great location. small room but it popped up late and i was glad to have it. restaurant attached is pretty darn awesome too. just great city!
Cons: all was good
5,4 Okay

7,1 Good
Cons: Breakfast was really bad. Access to the rooms, the steps are really small and dangerous specially for children and elderly people
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The food was good . the hotel is located in the center of the town and is easily reached from the car park. plenty of shops and restuarants nearby.
Cons: The stairs were very steep but made a very interesting and amusing stay.
6,7 Good
Pros: the location was perfect because the hotel is situated in the city centre right across the cathedral
Cons: the bathroom was small and there was no elevator but none of the staff asked to help with the luggage. it was very dangerous when you're traveling with a big suitcase.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: No tea making not a hotel it is a pub with extremely poor rooms untidy laundry blocking stairs. Sloping floor rounded beds Photos were no relation to reality one of worst and relatively expensive
7,1 Good
Pros: The staff, breakfast and locality.
Cons: Cramped room, two single beds when we were led to believe from the images upon booking that we would have a double bed. Lack of space in room for clothes.
7,9 Good
Pros: The location was very convenient for exploring the town and catching buses or trains. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice.
Cons: I had a lot of luggage and had to take it up three flights of narrow stars to my room. For people who are traveling light, this would not be a problem.

Pros: This property is OUTSTANDING in many ways! All the staff at the reception were friendly, accommodating and provided me with everything that I needed from early check-in, towels, refreshments, adaptor, suggestions where to go, etc. I had a fab breakfast at less than 10 euros! Scrambled eggs with cheese and tomatoes was the best! The lobby is really cool and relaxing to hang out. The room is very spacious and sparkling clean with private toilet and bath, this is what I really like :). The bed, pillows and linen were so comfy, I've never experienced this before with other hostels, I decided to skip a night out and just enjoyed my rest. Everything was perfect!
Cons: none

Pros: The room and location was wonderful, it was very very clean and the lounge area was lovely. We felt very comfortable and secure and felt the whole hostel was equipped with everything we could possibly need, the bed was also extremely comfortable!
Cons: The neighbour across the road was quite disruptive when he shouted during the night for people to keep the noise down, despite the fact that there was often little noise.

Pros: Everything else. Great place. Nice location just out of the noise of Centrum, but only 5 min walk.
Cons: 16 euro breakfast. For 2 in that is 32 Euro or 50 CDN (where we are from) for a boiled egg, piece of bread and a coffee.. Too high. Should be 10 or free with stay. We walked just a few feet away and had a beauty breakfast for 10 per

6,0 Good
Pros: Friendly service at lobby.
Cons: Room seemed modern from the outside but old from the inside. No room service after 10:30pm. Clean bath towels had stains.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We s stayed at this hotel may times before - this time it was very noisy, from the front of the hotel where where was building work taking place to the house immediately opposite and more frustratingly from the cleaners who seemed be shouting from one end of our floor to the other and we’re generally very loud. Also most annoyingly, despite paying for a late check out we still received a call asking why we hadn’t left our room. Still a great hotel but mustn’t be tempted to take its eye off the ball.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Room very comfortable, expecially the bed. Waiters and chef in restaurant very kind and open to create a special course suited for my needs.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location in Haarlem. Walking distance to everywhere. Nice big comfy rooms and great breakfast
Cons: Distance from Amsterdam and station. The room had some sort of underfloor heating which wouldn't switch off.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The staff we're friendly and very helpful - as always. The hotel is in an excellent location. My hotel of choice in Haarlem.
Cons: I always like to have a steam iron in the room. Especially when staying in a good hotel (which the Carlton Square is) and during a long business trip. A small thing I know, but sometimes important for me as a business traveller.

Pros: The location is excellent, very close to the Market Place, the magnificent St Bavo Kerk, the river and all other attractions and facilities. The bed was comfortable enough and the air conditioning very welcome in view of the hot weather!
Cons: Breakfast was not included in the room charge, and at 19.5 euros per head was deemed expensive so we had breakfast elsewhere. The wash basin had an annoying habit of emptying - there must be a leak.
7,9 Good
Pros: Great location. Good size room
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located directly in the city center, close to all attractions and in walking distance from the train station. The room is exceptionally clean. WiFi speed is great. Highly recommend the hotel for both business and holiday visitors.
Cons: It could be slightly noisy in the rooms facing the street, as it is open to traffic in the morning, but the sound insulation is ok and it does not disturb much. The breakfast (19 EUR) seems to be overpriced, but this is common for the country.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness and professional and helpful staff.
Cons: The rooms, while exceptionally clean, are a bit drab. Just a bit of freshening the artwork and/or bed linens would help.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: This is a very good hotel overall and it has the most wonderful feel, helped by the circular staircase in the middle of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and I simply felt happy staying at the hotel.
Cons: The shower over the bath has very poor pressure and the towels are rather rough and small.
