10,0 Excellent
Pros: Arrived late and everything ready for us. Easy check-in at arrival. Nice cakes and milk left in fridge. Large room and bed very comfortable - we had Kingfisher room. English breakfast is outstanding and more than you can eat! Owner is proud to serve local produce. Eg Cumberland sausages. Also excellent alternative breakfast choice that you might expect from a 5* Hotel!
Cons: A little isolated so you need to drive to restaurants etc but that is what we expected. A little tricky to find the drive entrance in the dark.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: From the welcome to departure was just perfect for me. My room was well equipped, layout had been thought about and every possible need catered for. Thank you
Cons: Nothing to dislike ! Everything you need and more is to hand. Comfy clean and thoughtful !

Pros: Room, breakfast, car parking, location, welcome snacks, fridge
Cons: Prefer not to have a fixed shower screen as it's difficult to reach the bath taps and shower head but not insurmountable. Mattress was extremely firm but probably good if you have a really bad back. None of this made it a bad holiday though.

Birchleigh Guest House - Grange-over-Sands - Outdoor view

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Birchleigh Guest House in Grange-over-Sands, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Cartmel Racecourse and Yewbarrow House Gardens. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay as the room was very comfortable.
Cons: The accommodation did not offer parking to all guests and this was a worry to me as I have a disabled son and do not have a blue badge for him and had to keep moving the car. I hope I did not get a parking ticket..... as one of the guests said that the parking warden had said that she had booked several cars one morning electronically. I was of course within the parking rules, but this was a stress to me as the information did say that there was parking. Other then that we had a very good trip and felt very welcomed. I would recommend this accommodation.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: 1. comfortable and exceptionally well serviced and appointed room 2. excellent breakfast choice and hot, tasty cooked breakfast 3. convenience to town 4. friendly and helpful but unobtrusive hosts This is a high quality guest house offering first rate accommodation for a very reasonable cost with all the comfort and facilities you need. You could well pay more for a small hotel which would offer, for example, an additional resident's lounge but may not then provide this quality of essential facilities.
Cons: Nothing!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, couldn’t fault the place, staff or facilities
Cons: Nothing it was perfect

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Peter and Linda were fantastic hosts. We were able to drop our suitcases off in the morning and were given early access to our room as it was ready. Our room was fantastic, decorated tastefully and with care. Tea and coffee making facilities alongside hot chocolate and fresh biscuits. The WiFi was strong and reliable and at no extra cost. The breakfast was great with lots of choice, from fruit juice, fresh fruit, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cereals. White and brown toast, and followed by a choice of cooked items. I enjoyed poached egg on toast and my husband the full English, both of which were delicious.
Cons: There weren’t really any negatives.

Pros: A warm welcome from Andrea on arrival who was very attentive on the afternoon of our arrival bringing us drinks from the bar as we relaxed in the cosy lounge in front of a beautiful fire. This was followed by an excellent dinner where Chris then took over the hosting duties along with his excellent waitresses. Lovely rooms and a comfortable nights sleep followed by a wonderful breakfast. The whole ambience of this hotel is brilliant. The owners and staff are attentive but not obtrusive and the attention to detail throughout is top notch. Very relaxed atmosphere and great rooms and food. What more can you ask for! Pros: This historic property is a treat in itself , and the service fulfills the expectation you have , when first you see it. The size exudes a homely welcome , especially the log fire in the sitting room . Finally the food is top drawer served in a fascinating dining room , by exceptional staff .
Cons: As a person with mobility difficulties , I should have checked , stipulated a room with less stairs to climb however the rather rare cantilever original stairs fortunately were shallow , and so I managed .
