Pros: It was our second stay at the Peninsula and it was even better than the first time. The quality of services is amazing and people are really caring and taking care of your wishes with a smile and full politeness.
Their Mediterranean restaurant is excellent as well as the Lobby for tea time. The room is extremely nice and has full facilities, nespresso machine, mini bar, tea facilities , dressing room, and big bathroom with both shower and bath and two sinks. All is controlled via a kind of iPad which works great! I love also their concierge box. It is extremely central and situated in a luxury small shopping center.

Pros: The Park Plaza is an excellent hotel and well worth the money that we paid for our 5 night stay. It is very well maintained and excellently located extremely close to the Dengshikou metro stop and within easy walking distance of the Wangfujing walking street. The staff is friendly and highly efficient. Everything worked excellently. The buffet breakfast was excellent as well. There is nothing negative that I can think of about the hotel. I will make it my Beijing hotel choice for all future visits to the city. It is well worth the moderate cost.

Cons: When we arrived they did not have our request available for 2 twin beds non-smoking. We had to wait after flying for over 17 hours... Front desk staff does not speak acceptable level of English. Front desk gave us a hard sell to upgrade for an additional 40 USD per day to their Club Floor w/free breakfast, which we did not want.

He arranged taxi's, helped up purchase tickets for temples and even seeing the great wall of China. He checked in with us to make sure we were ok and to see if we needed anymore assistance. Cons: The location was much far away from the Tien An Men square or Forbiden City than it seems on the map, but the subway is just under the hotel.The most unpleasent thing about this hotel is the fact that they ask you at the begining to make a money deposit as big as your stay plus 3-400 euro for different expanses in the hotel. We exceded the 3-400 euro extradeposit, and even if we still had to stay 3 more days for which we already payed the deposit, when they realise that we exceded the they called in the room at 23.30 to tell me to go to reception to pay 400 more euro. I refused at the begining telling them I will pay next morning, but they continued to call till I got down and payed. My wife couldnt sleep again for the rest of that night.

Cons: The location of the Hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the pedestrian walk of WFJ. It is about 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Dongsi subway. Not exactly what we'll call "near". The address is no. 2 WFJ which is the other end of the pedestrian walk. It is suitable for those who have transport or those who travel a lot by taxis which are plentiful there.

Cons: Took about half an hour to check in, reservation information seemed to be paper based now computer based. We were then told we only had paid for one night and had to pay a deposit for the second night, however when I booked online I was told I did not have to pay anything till checking out. Also wanted a deposit for room keys which seems a bit excessive.Other than that the hotel met all my requirements.

Cons: Bed was so hard it was like sleeping on concrete! Hotel currently under renovation, and drilling and hammering started at exactly 8am every day, and continued the whole day until 5pm! On check-in their credit card machine could not connect to the server, and reception staff kept me waiting there for over 30 minutes, blaming it on my credit card! Many staff have only very basic English. Expensive internet in rooms.

Cons: No clear information, which are no-smoking rooms. One of our three rooms had on arrival a cigarette smell of previous guest, the smell however disappeared after several hours of ventilation. In hotel restaurants a selection of western foods, but poor selection of ethnic and other Chinese dishes (my previous hotel in Beijing had several restaurants, one of them with Chinese-Moslem dishes); poor selection of food for vegetarians, no detail information about the constituents of dishes (in regard to vegetarians or to people over-sensitive to eggs or tomatoes).
