the breakfast was OK...
Very bad internet. All over very dirty - especially the bathrooms. Every room (even the gym), has dirty wall to wall carpets. The service at the reception was extremely poor - bad english and overall little helpful. My card was stuck inside the ATM at the hotel and I had to spend two whole days to retrieve it with the help of random and friendly chinese people I met at the different banks (bank of china). The manager, Austin, was especially rude and little helpful. The breakfast was ok, but took forever to get coffee. Dont even try to get help to get a taxi, or to get to tips about the city.
Everything was very satisfactory but nothing was really outstanding. The breakfast and dinner buffets are very good.
The one thing that let it down for me was the lack of seating areas in the lobby. If you are not eating there is really nowhere to just sit.
Need a fresh looking. But it is an excellent hotel overall. It is awesome to have Chinese staff smiling alway. XIE XIE.
Location was fantastic. Selection of buffet was good. Concierge was really helpful.
Facilities are a little aged. Plumbing got blocked. Staff English was fairly average. Breakfast buffet was good selection but food not hot.
Definitely the location is good. The Forbidden City is within walking distance and the metro is accessible through the National Art Museum. As it is the last station of line 8, is almost impossible to miss it.
The hotel is a bit expensive, but my major complaint is the tourist office in charge of daily trips, which has a desk in the lobby. Their guided trips are definitely substandard. Explanations are sparse and they focus on the shops. Particularly they split the visit to the ming tombs into two visits, leading to a waste of travel time.
