Cons: Old hotel, super low ceilings - our room was on 8th floor and the ceilings height in the shower did not allow to put the hands up. Located a bit far from the center, around 15 min walk. Expensive onsite parking. the bar did not impress at all - the quality is below average and overpriced. Compared to other Cordis/Langham hotels experiences, this one definitely did not meet the expectations.

Cons: One of the worst desserts I've ever had and my breakfast salmon omelette was very fishy tasting.
There are not really good views despite the location. We paid for a water/harbor view, but it was really a city view with view of a boat. Most of the rooms look either onto the city, other rooms or over the street and businesses across the street. Seems like at least the restaurant should be located where it has great views - but it has no views, unless you sit outside.

Although we were usually on our own it is a hidden gem. We had a lovely couple of meals. Beautifully presented and very reasonable too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.x

Cons: Expensive breakfast menu. Access to the Hotel wasn't clear. Also not easiliy accessible, unable to locate for first time visitors. Could have been clear access point or signage with lights. Should have a short stay car park for check-in. The first staff wasn't letting me to check in without moving the car. I wanted to check in & unload the luggage to return the rental car.

Cons: The hotel and the room although clean was pretty tiered. Carpets in public areas were dirty and stained. Our room had a big loose patch in the middle of the room all frayed they must have tried to repair a hole or something. Carpet needed replaced.

Cons: We weren't aware that the window view was of the burnt construction site across the road. We spent most of the time in the room with the blinds drawn because of this. Also because we booked via third party, we missed out on the rewards for Premier card. If you want those, check before booking.

Cons: On arriving at reception, I felt the receptionist did not over extend themselves with information, as this was a first stay for my family. An example was where and which floor was breakfast as this was inclusive in the stay, what were the times and the last morning we were there it shut 1/2 an hour early and missed breakfast. I got more local information from the man who delivered the bags to our room. The staff were polite and professional but lacked the Christmas Spirit a "Merry Christmas" greeting on the day would have been welcoming. On arriving to our rooms the temp was 28 degrees - quite unbearable! knowing the room was booked it would have been nice to have the air condition on.

Cons: We booked this hotel for New Years Eve in Auckland. Besides being overpriced for the night in question, they charge ridiculous valet fees, put us in a handicap room with no bathtub, horrible view, and construction all around, put bacon on my Ceaser salad after I specifically said I was a vegetarian, brought the salad on filthy plates covered in chocolate from what I can only assume was the previous meal. Upon checkout no one even bothered to ask how my stay was. I asked for a manager and voiced my complaints. No attempt was made to remedy the situation.

In regards to location, the hotel was close to everything so location wise it was ideal. The breakfast buffet was on point though and worth the $25per, lots of choices.

Cons: It was really difficult to find because of the construction - there was no sign on the door indicting the location of the hotel. We did a few loops of The area before we found it - definitely not easy. Parking was expensive and valet was the only option.

Cons: Our room was missing a shade on one of the mirrors. The other 2 were in shreds. Our view was of construction workers directly across the street. The bathroom had mildew in the shower. Needless to say, this was not what I expect from a 5-star hotel.

Cons: The big hill, but that can’t be helped, it’s Auckland after all. My daughter complained that she didn’t find the sofa bed in the one bedroom unit we were in, very comfortable. Someone was smoking on the balcony next to ours, even though it was clearly signed as “No Smoking’, & the smoke came into our room.

Pros: We were on the 7th floor and had a great view of the city. The room was neat and had everything we needed. We order some room service and it was delicious. Before heading out for the night we went for drinks on the top floor "bar" and what an fantastic view of the sky tower and city skyline at night. The breakfast was to die for the next morning while overlooking the warf. The valet parking was a treat.

Cons: Air conditioning wasn’t working and clearly hadn’t for ages. Shower head was broken and this made it hard to shower. Plug in bathroom did not work and there was no other mirror to use. Very, very noisy. The glass is clearly not double glazed and the road and street noise was loud all through the night!

Cons: There was one staff member (a man) who worked on reception. I found him really rude & wasn’t very helpful. For example, I was asking about the wifi as I checked in late and there was no one at reception to explain, once I approached him about it he wasn’t very nice and not approachable. He made me feel really uncomfortable and just ended up walking away. Other than that, all the other staff were really lovely & friendly.
