Cons: Carpets needed a good hoover as there were cat hairs on the floor Very poor lighting in the en-suite Bathroom especially over the mirror Magnifying mirror required for Shaving & wife applying make-up TV needs updating, screen too small & too high up,

Pros: Very friendly proprietor. Loved the happy hour.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. A peaceful, sumptuous long weekend away. All the additional touches made us feel very special and in a beautiful village location
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was absolutely superb - the best we've had in a B&B. Also a lovely little touch - free wine and cheeze between 17.00 and 18.00, as well as sherry and cake in the sitting area all day if one wanted it. We loved the eclectic style of our room, and the bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The only minor issue was that the cold water first comes out of the tap scalding hot, and continues like this for about a minute before starting to run cold. I feel that's something that ought to be fixed if at all possible.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were ‘roomy’. Everything seemed to be done with care and style. Breakfast was very tasty, just the right amount, and beautifully cooked and presented.
Cons: I can’t honestly think of anything negative at all.

Pros: Location couldn't be better, the whole place was quirky in a lovely way,and there were some nice little extra touches like the complimentary chees and wine, and cakes every day.The staff were all polite and efficient, and we will probably go back in the future.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast choice and quality was fabulous
Cons: We arrived in the heatwave. Given the weather last year we were surprised that no fans were available. They size of the bathroom and toilet were also small a larger person would struggle to sit on the toilet because of how close it was to the shower

7,5 Good
Pros: Beautiful building, surrounding area and grounds stunning.
Cons: What sounded like lawn mowing 7.30 in the morning.
6,8 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fabulous and great choice.
Cons: I felt the interior of the spar area and hall itself lacked atmosphere and character. Parts of the hall decor was tired looking and not in keeping with the hall itself. We stayed in the coach room and although the bathroom was obviously new and fresh the decor and soft furnishings were tired and poor. No access to open a window for ventilation and it was very warm and stuffy.
7,0 Good
Pros: The hall and surroundings are beautiful
Cons: It was the little things. Lighting was fairly poor, not great for applying make up. There wasn’t a suitable mirror near a power point for using the hairdryer.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the peace and quiet of being lodged in the coach house, we also enjoyed the grounds.
Cons: Our room was rather dusty.
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is absolute beautiful and the inside of the hotel is in style. The garden is also mote than beautiful.
Cons: The coffee was absolutely far below on what I like, it was week and tastless. The internet was almost nowhere available. Not a seperated shower.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated, spotlessly clean, well-equipped and luxurious. The hotel overall was quiet and peaceful, the service provided by staff was prompt, professional and friendly, the food superb and the whole ambience pleasant and tranquil. The crowning glory was the pool and spa facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning. My only criticism was the foldaway bed which was so uncomfortable due to being old and broken that it could not be slept on.
Cons: The foldaway z-bed provided for my ten year old daughter was old, broken and so uncomfortable as to be impossible for anyone to sleep on. In the end I took the mattress off and slept on the floor and my daughter slept in the four-poster bed with my husband otherwise she would have had no sleep at all. Considering the cost of this foldaway bed is £25 per night it should really be of better quality.
7,5 Good
Pros: OK BREAKFAST - LOTS OF CHOICE BUT NOT TASTY POOL OK BUT NOT ENOUGH STEAM/SAUNA ROOMS FOR A SPA WALKING AROUND THE MAZE
Cons: SPA AREA IN NEED OF MODERNISATION DOGGY SMELLS NEAR ROOM 7
8,0 Excellent
Pros: the hotel its self
Cons: breakfast plate far too hot ,food like cardboard dry and very hot .Quite poor .
6,8 Good
Cons: The WiFi is advertised online (it’s in a very rural area so signal is very poor) and then once we arrived, a book in the room stated “WiFi maybe not available in all rooms” and of course didn’t work. Also the spa bath had been disconnected without prior notice and the double bed was 2 singles pushed together. I felt what could of been a beautiful room was then very basic!
7,0 Good
Pros: Facilities and the hotel itself were second to none
Cons: The menu in the room packs for the restaurant were different to the menus in the restaurant The restaurant staff looked down there nose to us as we were the youngest in the room Overall we loved the hotel itself but the dining experience was extremely poor
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location. Beautiful country house. Pleasant and helpful staff
Cons: Didn’t have enough staff on duty Bedrooms too hot - need air con in summer Booked a breakfast for 20 people - only set for 15 Ordered a chair in advance - it wasn’t there Staff resolved issues swiftly but shouldn’t have happened

Pros: Breakfast was outstanding. Ate so much that we didn't need lunch. Family room was quite sizeable and the beds were comfortable. The shower had on-demand heat and was very modern.
Cons: The door to the bathroom was ill-fitting and made a loud noise every time it opened. The walls were a little thin but fortunately our neighbors were quiet.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, clean and good food.
Cons: Nothing.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accomodation, very helpful & friendly staff, . The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Alnwick town within a 15 minute walk of the castle & gardens & a 5 minute stroll of the main town centre. Plenty to see in & around Alnwick & the surrounding area- a visit to Alnmouth beach is a must. A good car parking area at the back of the hotel & a nice outside seating area in which to relax.
Cons: Nothing that could be improved just a slight issue with traffic noise at the front of the hotel if you are a light sleeper as it is situated at the end of a busy junction. Solution - request one of the annexe rooms at the rear of the hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were pleasant and efficient. The rooms were clean and well presented. The food was excellent . The hotel ideally situated for going into town

Cons: Parking not private.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Very genial host. Lovely property nice and clean and the room we had was lovely and bright. Location was very good close to town centre and free parking was appreciated.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The B&B is located in a quiet residential area with street parking and a 5-minute walk to the town. Paul and Helen were charming hosts and readily provided information on various places to visit within the area. Breakfast was good. The room was small but comfortable, although the mattress and pillows may need changing soon, and plenty of space in the wardrobe to hang your clothes. Alnwick castle and gardens are well worth a visit as is Bamburgh Castle and Craster. There are a number of places to eat in Alnwick, but I would recommend the Market Tavern as the food is excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Cons: Although not directly overlooked a net curtain on the window would provide more privacy.
7,5 Good

8,3 Excellent
Pros: In good location. Easy walk into town and very good eating places round the corner. Breakfast excellent.
Cons: Bit of a tight squeeze in the car park!
4,3 Okay
Pros: The shower was fine, with good temperature and water pressure (except for the lack of shampoo and conditioner.) Location was good for proximity to bus stop and the places I visited. (Alnwick Castle and gardens, Barter Books, some shops)
Cons: Once you scratch beneath the surface of the semi-glam posters and velvet/velour fabrics, the lack of attention to detail, upkeep and even basics shows. For instance, in my room (#7): 1) the carpets were dirty and musty smelling, like damp dog. When I mentioned this to the proprietor, she offered to vacuum them. Really? You mean this isn't a daily routine? 2.) Simple amenities are lacking: no facial tissue, shampoo, conditioner or even a bar of soap. Instead, you get a bottle of cheap drugstore brand body wash gel and liquid hand wash soap. 3) The towels were not changed until the third day. 4.) There is unnecessary, too large furniture - in the bedroom, a triple wardrobe that leaned precariously away from the wall, a large dresser, plus a large cabinet in the bathroom. I proper desk or table would have been useful. 5.) the bed was no more than adequate, with skimpy, thin pillows and a thin duvet. 6) I had to hunt around for a free electrical outlet, and finally found an extention cord on the floor between the bed and bedstand. 7.) I was concerned about security, as there was a narrow passageway between the entry area to my room and a room at the end of the passageway. It looked like anyone could have accessed that passageway. 8.) The room faced the street, and the narrow sidewalk meant buses, trucks and cars passed just a few feet from the window, rumbling by at all hours. Also, a pub down the street with live music brought rowdy revellers late at night. 9.) the plumbing seemed a little dodgy, with odd wop-wob/glub-glub sounds coming from the tub every time I ran the sink taps. Lastly, can somebody at these English hotels and guest houses please learn how to make a decent pot of coffee? I would not return to this guest house for the above reasons. It was not an enjoyable stay and I did not get good value for my money. I was a solo traveller and I think I was given the worst room.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient for the town and castle.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent the rooms were comfortable and nothing was too much trouble
Cons: Nothing

7,0 Good
Pros: The hotel was well located for the town centre and Alnwick Gardens and Castle. We liked the hotel lounge and bars and parking facilities was excellent. The hotel restaurant served a good choice of meals and the town had a good choice of pubs and restaurants. Lastly, the staff were very helpful and attentive.
Cons: Were originally given a small room room next to the fire escape and due to health & safety reasons the windows were bolted shut! If there was a fire outside that room how would you escape? This was a problem as we were experiencing humid temperatures and couldn't air the room albeit there was a fan. Also, there was a pungent smell of stale water coming from the bathroom shower which added to the unpleasantness of the air. Were given a better room, but the pungent smell of stale water was also present in that room. Fortunately, we were able to keep the window open to freshen and air the room. We felt the quality of the bed was poor. We were there 4 nights and didn't have one good night's sleep.
7,0 Good
Pros: nice hotel, good breakfast, nicely decorated. friendly staff. i would stay again.
Cons: hot room, no windows to open , air cooling fan was a little pointless.

Cons: TV was limited in channel selection
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location, the staff, the room and the breakfast all good will be back
Cons: Nothing all good
6,3 Good
Cons: Noise from road traffic Set alarm off as I left the sleeping quarters before 07:00 but hadn’t appreciated it would cause the alarm to go off
6,8 Good
Pros: Location was excellent, ample parking. Bed linen was clean, friendly staff, fan in room was very welcome as it was a warm night.
Cons: Lube found by side of bed, cracked tile in toilet which cut my daughters toe and t.v. didn't work.
6,8 Good
Pros: Location was excellent, within easy walking distance of all the tourist sites of Alnwick. Having easy car parking was a definite bonus.
Cons: The accommodation, as advertised, was room only. We thought by simplifying the over complicated breakfast menu and offering B&B instead would have made the stay a better experience. Although all the staff present couldn't have been more helpful, there just didn't seem enough of them to run both the bar-side of the property and welcoming guests. This also seemed prevalent during both breakfast and evening meal sessions where service could have been much slicker. The food and drinks however were excellent. We had some issues with the room too. There was a pervading sewer smell from the bathroom, and the sink tap persistently kept falling off. Both these issues should have been picked up and rectified during housekeeping.

Pros: Fantastic breakfast. Friendly efficient staff.
Cons: Room at top was very hot (there was a heatwave).
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was very good
Cons: . On day one the shower didn’t work . The room would have benefited from a fridge . The decor was very dated and dreary . The staff in the restaurant were overstretched.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Dining room well presented. Hotels with linen table cloths are always very pleasing
Cons: All the stairs to bedroom. Should have asked to be on lower floor.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and were from the local area. Good food and great service.
Cons: Wi-fi kept dropping out, which was frustrating at times. Plumbing is a bit antiquated, but a dripping tap was the worst we had to contend with.
7,5 Good
Cons: Noisy all night, with motorbikes and cars going past until very late; hotel can’t help that it’s on the main road, but noise-proofing the windows might help (they are single glazed).
4,5 Okay
Pros: The reception staff were very helpful. But the hotel dose not have a style
Cons: Breakfast staff should be a lot more helpful and attentive. Also clearing tables were not on par
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. The incredible elegant decor from HMS Olympic--sister ship to the Titanic--is posh beyond belief.
Cons: Wifi is poor on rooms distant from check-in, but what do you expect from a historic stone building?
5,0 Okay
Pros: The dining room was stunning and food excellent. Location was fantastic and that was the reason for booking.
Cons: The front desk staff were not that helpful. The room was small, no view, very warm and in fact very dirty. My wife found a pill in the side drawer beside the bed. The main room light was humming and the bulb needed fixing in the bathroom. This was reported on the day we arrived. This was never fixed as we were at the hotel for two nights nor did we have an update from staff.
6,8 Good
Pros: the olympic restaurant was the reason for our visit, it was very nice but totally lacked atmosphere food was quite basic but also not expensive
Cons: room was very very hot could have done with a fan

Pros: The owners and the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you embrace the eccentric behaviour of some of the staff then you will have a lovely time. The room we stayed in was very clean, bed sheets and towels were immaculate and plenty. The shower room was lovely with plenty of hot water. The breakfast facilities were a little spread out so you did have to go on the hunt for cutlery and a cup of tea but the food was lovely. Nice outdoor facilities.
Cons: If you can embrace an old hotel which is in a slow process of being renovated then all is good, but there is a lot of building rubbish left around, old broken up furniture left around and outside our window a roof patio covered in building materials and rubbish.. If they cleared this all away the hotel would feel a whole lot better. Get a skip and sort. As we arrived some of the staff were a little intimidating and unhelpful as if we were an nuisance but finally met the manager and he was very welcoming and very helpful. The staff and a few guest partied till about 3am and were very loud. This didn't work for a family with children. Maybe this hotel should target as a youth hostel type / party hotel and not somewhere families and older couples should stay unless you are going to stay up with them and embrace the liveliness..
5,8 Okay

5,0 Okay

6,3 Good
Pros: Location is great
Cons: Very tired bedroom not finished off very poor workmanship
4,5 Okay
Pros: Nothing. It was so grim I put a blanket down for the dog so she didn’t have to lie on the dirty carpet
Cons: It was dirty, poorly maintained, incredibly expensive and had a terrible food hygiene rating. It was so bad that despite paying £155 for bed and breakfast we left before eating for fear of how unwell it could make us. Would literally rather starve
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Waiters who hold the toast on the plate when bringing it to the table. Coffee pots that were never washed.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Convenient location but could not find on-premises car parking
Cons: Slightly grubby. Poor antiquated electrical wiring. Extractor fan Room 3 detached from fixings.
6,3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was cooked well and always hot.
Cons: The hotel is in the middle of being redecorated and updated. Our room was not finished and not sure it should have been used yet.
