The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

I'm very happy with their customer service, the day before my first flight I received a phone call from Qatar's customer service saying that due to delays I wouldn't be able to make my connecting flight to Edinburgh so they would like to book me on another flight instead of me having to wait 24 hours in Doha. Initially charged $1000 for 3 tickets for modification of return trip - confirmed the same and tickets issued (i'm fine with this). But, after i made arrangements for new date, I got a call saying calculation error and asked to pay another $500 leaving me no choices. How can such a reputed airline have no tools to calculate the pay? Other airlines offered one-way for half of the price i paid. On top of it, online helpdek promised front line seat to satisfy me but nothing was offered even if i ask explicitly. Simply declined saying i am not in priority list. Why do they make false promises? Friends, Just don't fly for food ....."

Cons: "The seats don't recline very far and on the a380 the window is a very long way from the seat making it impossible to lean against. - so difficult to get a reasonable test. The food was not great. Perhaps not qatar's fault(?) but we bought duty free alcohol in Brussels and took as carry on then after a layover in Doha we were advised Australian regulations prohibited us from taking it on board for the final leg - even though it was still sealed in the duty free bag. We were forced to check it protected only by some lightweight clothing and a thin back pack we had been using as cabin luggage. Fortunately it made it undamaged - but it would be better if we had been informed of this at Brussels."

Cons: "IAD-->DXB--?AMM; Airlines took my stroller from me before boarding the first flight to Dubai(at gate), and they gave it to me in Amman. WHen landed in DXB, There was a long walk form the plane to the gate where you can find a stroller in the airport( which is only a single stroller) and having 3 kids which does not help. Why not give strollers at gate just like all other airlines! I was prepared and had the double stroller with me! Never again on Emirates with kids!"

Pros: "For starters, the seats were decently comfortable. They were wide, and offered generous legroom. The food was good: an unbelievable improvement from the previous flight (I recommend the chicken). The ICE system was impeccable. It had a wide selection of movies, TV shows, and games as well as access to the news. However, the flight's greatest perk my have been the compassionate crew. They were very helpful and friendly. They offered many accommodations, like a pizza and photo, all for free. Overall, the flight went very well."
Cons: "Although I enjoyed the flight, the only bad part was the boarding process. To start off, the departure in Milan was delayed for about 45 minutes. Also, when boarding finally began, the line was extremely long and moved very slowly. That was the only event that marred the flight to JFK."

It wasn't this flight but the flight from Tanzania to Dubai, the crew sprayed the plane and I would like to know what was sprayed as it was awful and what if any chemicals were sprayed on us. Perhaps it would be better to spray the plane before the passengers board the plane."
Cons: "There was only one flight attendant would didn't assist my friend when we asked her to please take my friend's food tray away. My friend Emily Bayne was having a major discomforting eye allergy attack. Emily eyes were burning, dry, turning red, and very itchy and she wanted to go to the bath room to run warms water over her eyes, however she had the food tray and so we push the attendant help button. But when the flight attendant came to see what we needed and we asked if she could please take Emily's food tray, she just said I will come back later for that. So I told Emily just go to the bathroom I will hold your food tray. Emily Bayne was seated in the middle and I had the aisle seat, 44H. While Emily was in the bathroom I complained to another flight attendant what had happened, she took our food trays and then told her supervisor what happened. The supervisor came shortly and assisted Emily by granting her request and providing her with two warm wet towels, and later 5 more. The supervisor and the other attendant that I complained to continue to check throughout the fljght to see if Emily needed anything else, which was nice and accommodating. The flight after that incident was good, as the supervisor immediately corrected the insensitive act of his flight attendant."

They still never provided me with an email though and information allowing me to have my daughter checked in. they only provided me with her reference number."

Cons: "Flight from Zurich to Johannesburg: Swiss 288 (airbus a340-300) Sat in the last row of the Swiss air flight, economy, which was okay but our whole row video enternatinment system didn’t work. You’d pick a movie and it wouldn’t play. The games, camera and flight status animation all worked but not the movies. Air hostess tried resetting , still nothing. But it was a great opportunity to have a lovely conversation with my new German Friend Barbara and read my book! More lactose intolerant alternatives for breakfast which had much (cheese, yogurt, croissant) Other than those two , excellent flight. Thank you Swiss!"

Pros: "On board crew was friendly and helpful"
Cons: "Muslim meal does not mean all Muslims eat curry. It’s rediculous that we cant have a decent English breakfast instead you get curry or some form of curry for breakfast, lunch and supper. Your so called Muslim meals are not suitable for kids!! There is no such thing as a Muslim meal either. It’s simply called Halal otherwise then everyone else’s meals should be called Christian or Jewish meals etc. Also I requested help with transfer to my last flight which was horrendous because I’m one adult with 4 kids ages 1 to 11 and my eldest has sever learning disability. I nearly missed my flight because our flight landed late and I was struggling to keep my kids safe and together while running for the next flight. Somone should have been there to help with transfer."

Pros: "Professional staff, up to date aircraft, very clean, good meals, good selection of entertainment, very attentive to customers. Passed through many times with beverages. Lufthansa is always a pleasure."

Cons: "We were not offered veg and non veg options. We were only offered a vegetarian meal. A minute later, the gentleman behind us was presented the two options. We disregarded this on the first flight, but when it happened on the next flight similarly, we asked if we could get our children the chicken meal. The air hostess explained they had no more. But she presented the two options to the fellow passenger behind us. We were extremely offended by the way we were treated. The airlines offers no entertainment for children as do other airlines. In fact, one air hostess went so far as to ask me to tell my Lil one to MUTE the volume of his ipad."

Pros: "Firstly, the food was great!"

Pros: "My wife and I ran from our connection all the way from one end to the other and the crew could tell. They said after I stow my carry ons to corn to the back and get a drink and use the bathroom to cool down as we were just about to take off to taxi to the runway. The crew was absolutely great and the I. Flight entertainment and food was great. We just wish our luggage had made it back too. We are still waiting to see where our luggage is - if in Europe still or Dallas."
Cons: "I would say that other passengers had their kids behind us and they kept screaming and kicking our chairs. We told the woman to tell her kids to stop but all she said was “they are a child” when all they needed to do was just tell their kid to stop. Flight attendants saw and knew but I don’t know what they could do to help when they can’t help with bad parenting. I wish there was a clear way to upgrade to first class on a trip as it was difficult to find out how."

Cons: "Movie selection was lacking, stewardess on one leg of the trip was hard to understand"

Pros: "The crew - seemed very amenable and pleasant on this flight. One helped me move to effectively solve the acute posture problem."
Cons: "The seat - window by request, but it was in front of an emergency exit The seat - is jammed in - very tight - could not put it back to relax, and could not relax my left side by the window. My left shoulder and arm and left hip started hurting - couldn't sleep - took 2 days to get rid of the numbness in my arm. I asked to move, and it became obvious that there were many empty seats in the next section behind. I moved, and my comfort improved. Why was I given such a posture killer - especially on such a very long flight with seats to spare?"

Cons: "They tell you to download the app for entertainment but it doesn't work. No entertainment on the flight and no food unless you pay. The service sucked."

Pros: "I was upgraded after all the pressure from thehurrricane this was the icing on the cake"

Pros: "There was a problem with baggage self checkin and it was hard to tell what to do"

Cons: "Entertainment system wasn't working. 11 hour flight. Boring. No seat change available. No reading light, as light controlled by entertainment system. Seats in front of toilet cluster lit up every time door was opened. Crew were slow to react. Wasn't a priority. Ruined the excellent first leg of had from Philadelphia to Frankfurt. Do they run inferior planes to South Africa compared to USA?"

Cons: "Problem, flight was from Munich to Moscow, got onto flight from Munich to Ankara, boarding staff didn't notice, still not in Moscow."

Pros: "You can't beat the German's at efficiency. Awesome!"
Cons: "Houston isn't their hub and I have to put up with United."

Pros: "wasn't Lufthansa it was actually Singapore airlines they changed my flight and it was very good"

Cons: "I wished to change to an earlier flight with plenty of seats available. the Lufthansa ticket agent stated the only way, as I had booked a "light" fare, was to pay a full-price one-way economy ticket--plus luggage--for about 380 euros with no credit for my current ticket. After booking a day-room at a local hotel, I checked in on-line and discovered for 115 euros I could have upgraded to business class, with luggage included, and been accommodated on schedule changes. My suggestion to Lufthansa is if they intend to rip their customers off it's best NOT TO LET THEM FIND OUT ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, or if they're simply too incompetent to match marketing offers to their booking department they could save considerable income and reputation by closing the ticket office. As it was, the impression was a low-class money grab. It's not like they can count on their partnership with United to make them look good."

Pros: "The stewards did their jobs well."
Cons: "Our departure was severely delayed due to airport and aircraft crew errors. This meant that I missed my connecting flight in Munich, had to endure an extended lay over, board an extra flight to Budapest and endure an even more unbearable lay over there before being able to reach my final destination in Athens. I paid for a one-stop flight and have ended up having to endure a two-stop flight with extended lay overs. I feel completely cheated out of my money and overall have had a terrible experience."

Pros: "The entertainment options were great, and the food was better than many airline meals I've had before."
Cons: "I am Star Alliance Gold and I didn't like that it wasn't possible to select an economy plus seat upon check in, and I wasn't upgraded even though there were seats available. I picked this airline specifically because of it's star alliance membership but it didn't get my anything."

Pros: "I like Lufthansa. We were treated very well."

Pros: "- Right before boarding, a fantastic agent helped us move seats, and was extremely kind. - Food is not bad - Crew was very nice."
Cons: "- We cannot choose our seats online! You would expect that if you are flying from Germany to the US, they would allow you to do that. - My husband and I booked the flight together, and were assigned two separate seats, with 20 rows of distance! - Our video monitors were frozen mid-flight...."

Cons: "This long haul flight was on an Airbus plane with five restrooms in the basement. There was not enough space to accommodate people waiting in the basement so people had to stand on stairs or by the galley. Flight attendants kept on telling people not to do so but there was simply not enough space."

Cons: "So you book in advance, used the tarif that allows you to book your seats (row 9), check in and.... When you board you get new tickets with seat row 36 and family not together. Lufthansa has done this twice to us. My kids 8,10, 12 year old girls are well behaved and used to flying, so don't disturb anyone."

KLM offer a superior flight experience - it is a shame their terrestrial customer servic does not match it!"

Pros: "Flight was lovely, crew were friendly and very helpful and food was delicious!! We travelled with assistance for mum and it was excellent and we were kept updated all through the flight."

Cons: "KLM crews look unhappy with their work. Everything they do is a favor not duty."

Pros: "Excellent experience with the cabin crew."
Cons: "Seats on the 777 were too narrow. This 777 had a 3-4-3 seating arraignment, it would have been better with a 3-3-3, similar to a 787 configuration. With the current layout, even with an aisle seat, I was sitting in the aisle. And I am not a large person! The flight was full, so use the 787 and two daily non-stops. For a twelve hour flight, the food was only Okay, could have been better and with a better selection. Meal timing was poor."

Cons: "Flight was delayed 8 hours. Arriving at Incheon, discovered ground crew were unaware of our arrival to take this connecting flight. However, we were put up overnight in a hotel, which was nice."

Pros: "Boarding/unboarding"
Cons: "Didn't allow my carry on. Said too big. Same bag was on earlier connecting flight on much smaller plane. Also on flight on Southwest week prior. But larger intercontinental flight wouldn't allow it."

Pros: "I really like the spaciousness, the plug ins and general service"
Cons: "I have a dairy allergy but had no option to prepurchase a dairy free meal. It made for a very unenjoyable flight as I couldn't eat anything they had. What was worse was after I told them of my situation they said they understood and had a meal that would do but there was cheese, yogurt, milk chocolate, etc."

Pros: "great choice of entertainment content, friendly crew"

Cons: "Our flight was canceled from Amsterdam to Bordeaux and did not receive any direction and had to find alternate flights for ourselves with the personal expense of using our own cell phones. Then our luggage lost for 3 days. Not happy! We ended up flying from Toronto to Paris then to Bordeaux. Lost my upgrade money for seats. Now have to deal with KLM for refund!"

Cons: "No Marlboro light cigarettes on the duty free shopping cart"

Pros: "The cabin crew, the flight and communication and the cleanliness of the plane."
Cons: "It was really unclear which desk to use at Birmingham airport to check in. It was extremely stressful for a first time flier as I had no idea what to do - the desk location wasn't marked clearly and when no staff were there it wasn't clear that the desk was open."
