Pros: Everything
Cons: Location!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Finishing touches such as individual toaster on each table, decor, lovely fishpond, etc. Superb hospitality from Angela and Mike.
Cons: Nothing at all!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Hosts welcoming and friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Our room (Poppy), although not large, was beautifully and attractively furnished and fitted. Top quality fabrics and bathroom towels and accessories. At breakfast, great choices of drinks, fresh fruit, cereals, cooked, and preserves. All food and drinks freshly prepared and cooked. Personal and very friendly service. Spotless cleanliness.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely everything, Angela and Mike were brilliant hosts the accommodation could not have been bettered anywhere in the country. Wonderful, wonderful place to stay
Cons: That we were only staying three nights
9,5 Excellent
Pros: In our experience the best and most memorable B&B's involve a welcoming and engaging couple, in this case Angela and Michael. We had a very enjoyable stay of five nights in June; lovely house, comfortable and well appointed room, and excellent breakfasts with very nice choices. Good location for visits to the castles, great houses and gardens of Kent.
Cons: As noted in other reviews, the house is in a residential area with limited restaurants you can walk to. We did enjoy meals at the nearby Thai restaurant and it is not so far to the Diamond, a very upscale gastropub.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We really liked this property. The attention to detail is superb, brilliant hosts who have thought of everything. Breakfast was fantastic - unreservedly recommended.
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like about our stay
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved Danehurst and the hosts were wonderful. My husband and I had really busy stressful weeks and as soon as we got to Danehurst we relaxed. Welcoming hosts, delightful decor, extremely clean, comfy bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, gorgeous breakfast with homemade bread, all the perfect little touches and nothing being too much trouble. Thank you so much for the stay and see you again very soon.
Cons: It was all lovely
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant breakfast.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: A lovely room with a very comfortable bed and a great breakfast. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.

7,5 Good
Pros: OK bit basic.
Cons: Fresh bakery goods
5,5 Okay
Cons: Right on Sainsbury’s car park and very noisy all night. Worst night sleep I think I have ever had in a hotel!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This is a cowboy themed hotel and it is fantastic, so much to look at. Everywhere you go it’s interesting. We stayed for 2 nights. The staff are fabulous and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Included breakfast was amazing. Will definitely come back.
Cons: No air con but it’s an old building and you can open the windows wide and a fan is supplied. It wasn’t a problem.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Really liked the theme of the whole thing.
Cons: Food generally not great. Bacon particularly.
6,8 Good
Pros: Western theme was unusual but well done. Welcome on arrival was excellent. Food good.
Cons: Room very dusty with lots of cobwebs everywhere. Shower door part broken . Coffee machine in room impossible. Service in restaurant for dinner (party of six of us) was awful.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The fact that we were able to park our car for 2 days.
Cons: The loud music ( we are old)
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Wider range of food at breakfast
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean and were tidied and cleaned daily - to a high standard. The Wild West theme was fun. The location was excellent. Also liked the light breakfast option.
Cons: Nothing really. It was exceptionally hot during our stay so we might look at somewhere with air-conditioning next time. There was a fan in the room though, so that helped.
6,3 Good
Cons: No air con in the room and I stayed there during one of the hottest nights in the UK. Breakfast is decent but one would expect a proper buffet. There are breakfast sets to order but some of them are not included in the 'included breakfast'. Reception is at the pub, check-in until 9pm! Definitely not a 4-star hotel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was OK Nothing special but reasonable
Cons: Finding things, one of the other guests told me where I could get Cereal and juice from, This was in keeping with the hotel theme but a couple of small tables to put a bowl on whilst helping oneself to juice or cereal would make the task much easier
10,0 Excellent
Pros: very good nicely presented and cooked, very pleased.
Cons: all good except the choice of fruit at breakfast could have been more.

Cons: N/A
10,0 Excellent
Pros: A fantastic place to stay - Harold is very welcoming and hospitable. Would thoroughly recommend.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: I booked to stay 2 nights at the Victorian B & B with my daughter as we were going to a festival at the weekend. Wow, as soon as you walk through the door it feels like you have stepped back in time. It is an amazing place. Harold was so lovely and attentive and attention to detail was second to none. We loved to hear the history of the building and look at the photographs Harold showed us. Our room was large, clean and bright with very comfy beds and the garden is fabulous. For breakfast there is toast, cereal, yogurt, home made smoothie, fruit & a full cooked breakfast. Coffee and tea. There is a large table to share with the other guests which was quite fun, although I guess not everyone may like that. If you want TV and mod cons in your room, a bar or a reception then this may not be for you but to be honest we really didn't miss any of that - we just soaked up the history! Totally recommend.
Cons: Having to leave!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful stay in the such an interesting bed and breakfast....feels like a small art gallery! The host is superb, extremely knowledgable and friendly. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom was simply stunning. Afternoon tea was a lovely touch by the fire and breakfast was very enjoyable. Check out was 12pm which was rare and was lovely to have that little bit of extra time to enjoy the surrounds. Thank you for making our new year so special and I am sure we will be back!
10,0 Excellent

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic room. The bathroom was incredible with the large bath and separate shower
Cons: Little things like the bath tap being loose.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Very luxurious hotel with nice spa facilities. We had a very large and comfortable room with a gigantic, spotlessly clean bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you, we had a great stay.
Cons: Breakfast was nice, but we were not informed about the extra charge for a cafe au lait when we asked for it. A little more transparency would be appreciated, when breakfast is included.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great service, lovely facilities, pool and grounds.
Cons: Bar layout a little strange - a little cramped, but good service and selection of drinks and food.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds and stunning rooms.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building and the bedrooms were very well decorated. The food was great.
Cons: Our room was situated quite far away from The wifi meaning we had no signal when trying to connect.
7,0 Good
Pros: The food was disappointing and quite expensive. We booked for Sunday lunch and the roast lamb was poor and they had run out of mint sauce! We ordered a sandwich for supper and one of the four slices of bread was stale. Who is checking on the quality of what the kitchen is serving?
Cons: The staff were friendly and helpful

6,8 Good
Pros: Like the breakfast
Cons: Although the place was quite nice and breakfast was good, it was quite pricey for one night.
6,8 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfasts. Restaurant choices.
Cons: Rooms dark and limited space.
7,5 Good
Pros: Comfy, good facilities, friendly staff.
Cons: This is a great place to stay, value for money, clean and tidy. Nothing negative, but it is a pub with good facilities but, busy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was excellent and the family atmosphere of the people running the hotel
Cons: Nothing
9,3 Excellent
Pros: This place is spotless. The rooms are nicely furnished and the bathrooms very well appointed. There is attention to detail at every step. The range of food for breakfast and evening meals is incredible and the presentation is well above expectation. We found the staff attentive, polite and helpful. The bathroom was well equipped with fresh thick towels and excellent showers and wash facilities.
Cons: Difficult to fault. We had an evening meal and 3 of the four main courses were excellent (nice food made with good quality ingredients, properly cooked (not overdone), appropriate size portions, properly presented, no excessive waiting), however one was rather dried out and had cold areas as if it had been prepared earlier and chilled or frozen. This wasn't important enough to us to even complain about but we couldn't finish that dish.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location. Quiet and easy to get to by car

Pros: Friendly, charming and helpful staff. Healthy and good breakfast choice. Great location.
Cons: The bedroom decoration could have been better.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Room was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Service was very slow . Night receptionist was surly.
6,8 Good
Pros: Long wait for service Breakfast choice limited.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent
6,8 Good
Pros: Good location and lovely building
Cons: We were unfortunately placed in room no.3 which meant the restaurants extractor was directly outside our window. Not only was it huge, ugly and noisy.. we had no sleep. We were looking forward to a lay in the following morning but this was made impossible due to the noise. Was a real shame as I’m sure there were other rooms available. Additionally the reception staff were aware of this issue when we discussed it with them in the morning and yet.. we were still placed in that room :( This was our 5 year anniversary so a little disappointed. I’m sure the other rooms are fine, maybe it was just bad luck for us
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was all good
Cons: Nothing
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were spot on, staff were very friendly and helpful. Convenient location for both the town and the Spa Valley Railway.
Cons: Wifi was okay for general Internet browsing but very poor when it came to trying to e-mail high resolution digital photographs, it took more than 30 minutes to send them to the publishers. So a new Internet and wifi service provider wouldn't go amiss.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, bed was large and comfortable, breakfast was delish with not too many choices and the staff were friendly. The atrium area is a lovely place for breakfast.
Cons: In the updated bathroom you have to climb into a large bath for your shower getting out can be tricky. This was our room not sure on the others. This could be from the type and age of building. Moving around the rabbit warren to your room can be quite difficult with a large suitcase, suggest when thinking of staying would be to travel light.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast good, coffee could have been hotter
Cons: Overall very good except basin hot tap needed attention, the flow was little more than a dribble.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Big bed . Clean neat bathroom. Nice view over town !

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of the room and customer service was superb.
Cons: All good.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and a good menu to choose an evening meal. Location excellent.
Cons: Limited parking although I was able to get a parking bay to the front of the hotel.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location next to the beautiful park was amazing. The hotel should sell this point.
Cons: Staff member on arrival was overwhelmed by lack of help from her manager and could not check us in as there were many other people jumping ahead of us in the cue. .
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful setting, English country hotel comfort, excellent service.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location and breakfast were really good and the room was very comfortable.
Cons: As a smokers I found there were no smoking areas in the hotel garden ( which was quite large). As it was raining I was forced to share the shelter belonging to the insurance company in the car park next door. This was not ideal for a 4 star ( and not cheap hotel). They should consider all their guests and create a small area in the ample outside space they had.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast but service a little slow
Cons: Small bed.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Bed was super comfortable. Ambiance superb.
Cons: Nothing! Devine accommodation...
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious and the bed comfortable. The public areas were very pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The shower never produced hot water, even after waiting several minutes. The house-keeping could have been better. When things, such as tea bags, were used they were not replaced. We had to ask for a second set of towels.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The house settings. The pillows.
Cons: Steep walk to room
7,5 Good
Pros: The ground were beautiful. Breakfast good
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable
7,0 Good
Pros: I was nervous about our visit after reading so many negative reviews on TripAdviser. However I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the accommodation.
Cons: The catering seemed very disorganised, and was of poor quality.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was lovely.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and ideal for peace and quiet
Cons: the guests staying in the Canterbury were very noisy and banging doors - giggling and cackling very loudly - this ruined my stay
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The welcome and room cleanliness
Cons: Shower drain partially blocked leading to water to overflow into the bathroom.
6,8 Good
Pros: Interesting place with museum. Nice staff. Room smart and clean but small. Spacious grounds. Close to Tunbridge Wells.
Cons: Rooms up a steep incline. Menu offered for dinner differed from that in room and online. Healthy choices were difficult at both dinner and breakfast. Bed was hard and pillows poor. We had to wait 2.5 hours to get into our room despite check in being advertised as 3pm didn't get in until after 6pm. Weddings and other events clearly take precedence which is understandable in terms of economics but very annoying when you are tired.
5,5 Okay
Pros: Location. Style.
Cons: Well...I’m going to review this one. Check-in was fine. I arrived late. I was given a ‘double bed’ - actually two singles pushed together. That’s not a double room. A double room needs a double bed. To be fair I booked a single room just for me so I would’ve ended up with a single bed anyway. Both single beds had the springs coming through the mattress!! I’m sorry but that’s just rubbish. I’d have got better in a cheap b&b! So I turned the mattress over and it was 20 % better that side - but still awful. So bad in fact that in the morning I asked for a duvet cover to be fitted to the duvet - why wasn’t there one fitted? Then, after a cover was on the duvet, the next night I folded it in half and used it as a mattress topper. It wasn’t great but was a little more comfortable. I’ve arrived home after 3 nights here exhausted. Mainly because of paper thin walls and ones going to there rooms late at night or early morning. Not impressed. Spent last night listening to the guy or girl next door snoring very loudly. I mentioned this to the guy at check-out - his response? He just ignored everything I said and asked me for £2.50 for the coffee I bought at the bar. Sorry.....NOT GOOD ENOUGH GUYS. I won’t be back that’s for sure. Time for bed and to hopefully catch up on some lost sleep!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really good experience thank you
Cons: Room good

6,8 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely. It was 7 mins taxi to Tonbridge wells town
Cons: The upstairs floorboards were very noisy and woke us up when the people started walking about
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Wish it was air conditioned. In warmer weather you will be hot! Only a fan to cool down.
5,5 Okay
Pros: Location, exterior look.
Cons: Asked 3 desk employees about getting a working phone in room, no one got back to us, phone never worked. Counter staff should have transit knowledge should a client have (simple) questions. Went to bar to get cold ice water as explained in letter left in rooms. The bartender and waitress appeared annoyed we interrupted their conversation when we asked for water. Fan provided was noisy.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Old, out of date, nowhere near 4*, parking spots are so narrow that you can’t even open the door, if someone else is parked beside you. It desperately needs to undergo a complete refurbishment...
5,8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Bathroom old and needs redecorating Hairdryer didn’t work Spare bed in room dipped in the middle Room smelt musty
7,0 Good
Pros: Food was fine The room was very tired and in need of updating no fridge / safe or Air conditioning. On booking I was led to believe we were booking Bed and Breakfast but on arrival found out we had to pay another £22.00 per day for our breakfast also we weren’t told that the room would be different prices on different days ! The Staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: Not being informed about room prices for different days and being charged extra for breakfast
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Staff where excellent
Cons: Building starting to look a bit worn .
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: Definitely not a 4 star. Spa resembled more an average leisure centre than a hotel spa facilities. Our room was “privilege”. I don’t want to think what the other basic categories feel like.
5,5 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The whole place was 'tired' and a bit shabby. It was OK but no more than that.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Airy pleasant room and very friendly staff. Lots of toilets! Good breakfast.
Cons: Our lunch took a while to come and we had had to go looking for someone to place our order with. The food was rather dry (burger). Breakfast by contrast was great!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly & gave us a warm welcome as well as very explanatory of facilities. The pool Was lovely and warm as well as a rear size. Lovely sauna and steam room. Breakfast was superb.
Cons: Th only flaw was peeling wall paper in the bedroom but didn’t really bother us though. But it’s the only bad point I can think of.

2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Filthy, filthy room. Stains on carpet, room stank of vomit. Not a hotel more a council band b with transient type people. Also our room had dark net curtains and purple lights and dim lights so obv used as a brothel. No hairdryer in room as specified when my husband went to reception to ask for one they laughed in his face. No hot water most of the time. Horribly overpriced as room was not cheap as they say. Plenty of cheaper rooms of outstanding quality. Room opposite left door open and when i said hello there was no reply only wierd noises. Horrible experience would not wish it on anyone. Why do u persist on putting these types of accommodation on your site that is completely unsuitable and unacceptable?
5,8 Okay
Pros: The room was very large. Nice patio garden at the back leading off the breakfast room.
Cons: Very noisy room overlooking the road. No double glazing. The hotel looks tired and needs money spent on it, e.g. chipped headboard, carpets in need of replacement or a very good clean.
5,5 Okay
Pros: No breakfast taken, location couldn’t be better.
Cons: No on site parking available, 2 spaces taken throughout stay. Rooms in need of a serious improvement. Shower mixer broken, door didn’t fit, tray chipped and tiles loose. Carpets stained and pillows dirty. If we hadn’t had our brother with us we would never had stayed there.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I was upgraded to a double room which was lovely and spacious and faced out to a gorgeous and peaceful back garden. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
6,8 Good
Pros: Location good
Cons: Rushed decor, hot but due heat wave.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean and the staff approachable, friendly and quick to help. The bedding and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Early check-in was accommodated without issue so we could change for a wedding.
Cons: The building and decor were a little worn around the edges though nothing that spoiled our stay. Breakfast was adequate, a little under-whelming for the price (cold, plastic wrapped pastries, small portions and only Full English for the cooked) but well cooked and tasty. I wouldn't reccommend this hotel for a special occasion stay.
6,8 Good
Pros: Staff very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was nice - there were six of us staying together and was advised that because of the size of the kitchen we would not be able to have all the meals together! This however did not cause us much problem.
Cons: Lots of walking along long corridors and stairs to our second floor room. Very tired in places - worn carpet etc. Lack of parking facilities for the size of property can be an issue.
7,5 Good
Pros: I THOUGHT THE BREAKFAST WAS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE HOWEVER IT W ASSENT BUT THE BREAKFAST WAS NICE ANYWAY.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: The hotel was very peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: There was nothing we didnt like, but would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
6,3 Good
Pros: Stayed for one night due to a wedding at the High Rocks. Location excellent for central Royal Tunbridge Wells. Style of hotel was boutique and ideal for a short stay. Breakfast was continental.
6,8 Good
Pros: It is a very attractive and stylish hotel. Great location near many things. Our room was very good sized.
Cons: My one recommendation would be to include more shelves or a dresser in the room.
6,0 Good
Pros: It was nice to have a larger than normal room, very airy with a handy desk, etc
Cons: No bath, nice shower etc though.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Room decore was nice
Cons: No inroom facilities, poor menu (excuss as because they are in the middle of town you can go out to reasturants), no cooked breakfeast available, staff helpfulness was poor (was taken to the lift and left to my own devises to find the room)
5,2 Okay
Pros: Good location for where i needed to be.
Cons: Rooms were too small especially the bathroom, only a continental breakfast was available and a very limited choice of meals for dinner.

Pros: It’s a lovely place, the rooms are really cute and comfortable! They are clean and have everything you need. The beds are really comfortable! And it’s nice that they have 24 hour check in, especially for those who are travelling a long way. They have good facilities as well and the back of the hotel is really pretty! I’d definitely consider staying here again when I come back to visit the family.
Cons: It’s a little on the expensive side!

Pros: Location was close to where i was working at the hospital. it was really quiet and the bed was very comfortable. Room 3 was ideal for me as it had toilet and shower.
Cons: Could of done with more mill for my coffee, but no one around and none in the kitchen but that wasn't a problem.

Cons: Limited time & space for breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and was a good start to the day. Location was good, neat the pubs where the meals were very good. Although small, the room had all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay such as TV and bathroom. I was not needing a resort style room as I was mostly out looking at the sights in Kent all day and only needed somewhere to sleep and shower. The owners / staff were very friendly and were keen to ensure my stay was comfortable, so I wish them every success with the lodge. I was impressed that they took the time and effort to give some work experience to a couple of students from doing hospitality studies, who were also very pleasant.
Cons: Although the facilities were self contained, there was plumbing or a fan that made a lot of noise next door (behind my room number 2). This would not worry me too much, but one night the guests in the next door room checked in about 10:30pm and were not finished showering and settling in until 11:30pm. I suggest that the plumbing / fan noise could be fixed making a significant improvement.
