Pros: The friendliness of Angela and Michael. Breakfast was plentiful, well presented, very tasty and plenty of choice. Parking is fine, on both premises and outside the property. Location was good enough for what we wanted (relaxing few days to do absolutely nothing). You would need a car however to see any sights, a couple of good pub/restaurants near by, we got a cab but would be a hike without transport of some kind. Though only found the The Hare in Langton was open on a Sunday evening for dinner, again transport needed. A lovely few days away. Have been before and would definitely go back!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My wife and I liked everything. Angela and Michael have thought of everything and more. With relatives living nearby we have stayed at several hotels. However from now on we would NOT even consider any other accommodation in the Tunbridge Wells.
Cons: Honestly, there is nothing to dislike.

A nice touch to have a couple of bottles of mineral water which were free. Good location short walk to Pantiles and very close to the Spa valley heritage railway.

6,0 Good
Pros: Food lovely good music and friendly staff
Cons: Bathroom needed decorating, toilet brushes a no no
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms; nice staff who helped get our bags to the room.
Cons: We’re hoping looking for local food in the restaurant, not pseudo-American. Not that it wasn’t good food. But it’s a themed location, so go expecting that.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I like the themed aspect which is the Wild West, the food is amazing, there is a good choice of drinks, the restaurant is huge and can accommodate parties so ideal for birthday group meals, popping in for breakfast or dinner or do all of these and stay over! The rooms have a large shower with complimentary bathroom supplies, flat screen tv, heating, tea/coffee making facilities. There are only a small number of rooms so it’s less hectic than larger hotels. The parking is always easy as there are plenty of spaces, you can arrive and park up early then check in later. The next day breakfast is until 10.30am so no rush the next day. We usually go into town on arrival and the next day when you can leave your car until ready to go. There are a large number of great pubs to choose from and to visit during the day, but I recommend having drinks and dinner at the hotel ... then when you are ready you just walk upstairs to your room!
Cons: Nothing.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Harold greeted us with a home made Victoria sponge cake and afternoon tea in the drawing room. His love for the Victorian period is flamboyantly reflected throughout the interior of this remarkable bed and breakfast. Harold’s attention to detail ensures that you feel immersed in the grandeur of the late 19th century. His eye for detail extended to our amazing bedroom and bathroom which featured a very comfortable large bed, roll top bath and lovely hot shower. Our breakfast was served in the ornate dining room where we opted for the delicious full English. Nothing was too much trouble and we would definitely recommend the Victorian B&B.
Cons: There’s absolutely nothing to dislike!!

Pros: Harold! The owner was an absolute darling, the decor the Ambience, comfort & cleanliness was perfect.
Cons: Wasn’t a major thing but tea & coffee making Facilities in our room would have been nice!! BUT I don’t think it would have gone with the Victorian decor, so wasn’t really a negative to our stay.

7,0 Good
Pros: Bathroom was quite big and decent pressure from the shower. Spa was ok but sauna wasn't mixed so had to go separately from my partner
Cons: Stayed in a deluxe room. Didnt thinkbit was particularly special. Would have been nice if room had a fridge as we had some drinks in the room and had to keep going to the bar for ice The mattress wasn't to my liking too soft.
7,9 Good
Pros: Very clean
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, architecture.
Cons: Flood lights on the outside of the building made it very difficult to get to sleep. Room temperature was excessively hot at night.
7,5 Good
Pros: Great gym and swimming pool.
Cons: Sound isolation is almost non-existent. You can basically hear what is being said in a nearby room. Very frustrating that the brasserie is open till late and people come back to their rooms being loud. It’s very hard to get some good sleep in this hotel.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room space was enough and the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was big enough. The hotel has enough parking places. There is a nice bar that works in the nights.
Cons: The included breakfast could be improved with more options, a bit limited
9,0 Excellent
Pros: They gave a little birthday note with macaroons as it was my birthday on the day of arrival.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet cosy room on the top floor. I like the fact that each room is different (I've stayed many times before) so there is an individuality about them all. Friendly, efficient welcome. My only disappointment was that I was unable to get a table in the restaurant for dinner- I shall make a point of booking next time!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really nice Room was very clean.
Cons: Floorboards are quite creaky.

6,0 Good
Pros: Spotlessly Clean, lovely breakfast.
Cons: The main thing that let this place down was the surly staff (including the guy who I think was the owner). The girl doing breakfast was pleasant enough though and tried to be hospitable. Staff at the bar and restaurant needed some training in service with a smile.

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good central location. They took dogs.
Cons: The room was looking quite tired and old. It was New Years eve, but they were very understaffed in the bar... 2 barstaff serving cocktails to an obviously full restaurant/function. We had to wait ages for a drink. In the morning, breakfast was the same. They didn't have the staff to cope efficiently with a full hotel. All just felt a bit tired and resting on their old reputation.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The Decor. Cosy. Staff were nice.
Cons: First room was tiny and pokey. Asked to move and the next room was better. One tiny milk sachet. Not worth the money.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was one of the nicest hotel rooms and one of the biggest rooms I have ever stayed in. The hotel has a very friendly, relaxed vibe. It is a top class hotel but it is not at all pretentious. The bar facilities and restaurant are welcoming and comfortable. The position is ideal, in central Tunbridge Wells.

8,0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast good, wide selection of food although coffee (from an urn) was cold on one day
Cons: see above
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful and Santa made our little boy's stay very memorable, so thank you.
Cons: We had requested a family room and when we arrived the room on had a double bed in it. They soon erected a folding bed but this left no space in the room. The room was also right next to the entrance to the block of rooms and drunken Christmas revellers seemed to congregate just inside the door and make a lot of noise, not great with a 5 year old in the room. Complained in the morning and the receptionist moved us to a bigger and quieter room which was great. Wasn't very pleased that not only had the hotel blocked the total amount on my card on arrival but then charged me again when we left and didn't release the blocked amount for a week.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and tidy, helpful staff, very good evening meal, great grounds and the history of the place. highly recommend
Cons: Being slightly picky, the signage could have been better. ie this way to hotel reception.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The mansion house, where the restaurant and bar are situated, is beautiful. We enjoyed pre dinner aperitifs and after dinner digestifs in the comfortable lounge, warmed by the fire. The following morning we had breakfast in the conservatory, overlooking the beautiful grounds of the estate. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The barman/waiter looked after us particularly well.
Cons: The signage is poor. Upon arrival we went initially to Runcie Court, thinking the reception was there. Better signs or lit signs would be helpful. Although the accommodation blocks are nearer to the mansion house than I feared from reviews I read, and the rooms are very clean and well presented, it would have been more of a treat to be able to stay in rooms in the mansion house. Although I appreciate that such rooms would need to be more expensive.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous grounds and views. Delicious breakfast and evening meal. Most staff were excellent.
Cons: Our bedroom was in a separate building so we had to brave the elements to get to and from the dining area. The bridge from our room to the car park was very slippery when covered by frost. The girl at reception on arrival gambled information too fast to follow.
7,0 Good
Pros: All fine, comfortable and clean. Room a little small for two people
Cons: room size
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Superb location in idyllic surroundings like being in the countryside, yet a very short distance out of Tunbridge Wells town. Staff very good and nothing too much to ask for?
Cons: Our first allocated room had a rough pungent smell....which I addressed with reception, but very swiftly and with no hesitation moved us to another room.

Pros: Very nice staff The Lodge is really close to very pretty cool sites: Tunbridge Wells, Scotney Castle, Bewl Water And there are a few restaurants where you can walk to. Nice to be able to park there too
Cons: It was a little cold when we arrived at the place but the heater worked well!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful couldn't do enough for us was very comfee and clean will stay here again
Cons: Everything was fine
10,0 Excellent
Pros: They literally thought of everything you need, and anticipated things I didn't even think I needed. Arrived to be offered snacks, there was filtered water, ear plugs if needed, hot chocolate, very comfortable bed and lovely long bath. The kitchen area had a lot of things available to use, so it was like a bit of self catering too. It was a nice peaceful, comfortable, home from home.
Cons: That I wasn't able to stay longer.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, extra heating ready when we arrived, friendly staff
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location was perfect for me
Cons: No face to face interaction with any staff at all for my stay. The side panel to my bath was broken and hanging off.
Mercure Tunbridge Wells Hotel - Tunbridge Wells - Building

7,4 Good (3 271 reviews)

Overview Reviews
The 4-star Tunbridge Wells hotel boasts 84 contemporary guest rooms inside a beautiful 18th century Georgian oast house. Set in a tranquil corner of Kent and conveniently located close to Tunbridge Wells, Hever Castle and the breath-taking Kent countryside, this hotel is ideal for business or leisure trips. After a busy day guests can relax in the impressive gardens, rejuvenate in the Feel Good health club or take a dip in the impressive indoor heated swimming pool.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was very clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely, everything you needed was provided.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Arrival and welcome were very good, breakfast was nice.
Cons: We were told on Christmas night that there was no food available for us at all - nothing! After a short while a more senior member of staff arrived on the scene and gave us a table in the large function room where a coach party were being fed with a sumptuous buffet. This was fine, but the other member of staff should not have said this to residents of the hotel.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The pool was lovely and bedroom was clean with a comfortable bed
Cons: Other than two members of staff who were friendly and competent the levels of service have dramatically declined over my last two stays, with most being dismissive and lacking in any customer experience. I actually had a member of staff clearing and setting my table for breakfast whilst I was still eating my dinner and this was only around eight pm without any decency to even acknowledge what they were doing. Food was dumped on the table and the presentation of both meal and drinks was beyond poor. In addition the quality of food has disappointingly declined over recent months, plastic frozen heated up is all I can describe it as and unfortunately I stayed at a holiday inn a couple of nights later who served an incredible perfectly cooked steak on room service so well presented and politely warmly delivered it has highlighted even further how far the service levels have fallen here!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable room close to the hospital.
Cons: Hotel is kind of old fashioned for the price.
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was not bad nor excellent. No lift is the let down of the property. Non hotel guest can use the swimming pool Especially the kids swimming lessons Made it a bit awkward for the guest to use the pool.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good. The room was fine. Beds a little springy! Boing! It would be a good idea to remind upstairs guests that noise travels through the floor like billy o. It is probably easy to forget that you’re upstairs to be fair. Like to mention Ellie in reception who was excellent !
7,0 Good
Pros: The staff were very attentive and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Rooms were clean even though a little tired.
Cons: Restaurant service on evenings was slow, despite great waitress service and food was average (microwaved or overcooked). Breakfast was better.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly, nice and quiet in the rooms

6,0 Good
Pros: Staff friendly, room spacious, sheets clean. Fine for what we needed - a crash pad for after the party we were in town for
Cons: Room did not smell fresh- odd smell like bo when you walked in which continued to be noticeable an hour later. Had to request air freshener from reception and was told they didn't usually do this and I would have to return it later. The can was already practically empty but I was still chided when I returned the empty can. Room not hoovered, very scratched and dirty wooden headboard you wouldn't want to sit up against. Mirrors grimy.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a good area
Cons: One plug socket in room. Bathroom small and dirty. Was charged incorrectly for breakfast and served the wrong items which we paid extra for. We are Muslim and asked for egg on toast for breakfast and was served a full English which includes pig. No one around to ask to fix this. No water in room, you would think at least a bottle of water which is around 45p a litre would be provided for people who arrive late.
3,8 Mediocre
Cons: No hot water and No heating!
6,7 Good
Pros: convenient location
Cons: it would have been good to have a kettle in the room.
7,7 Good

6,8 Good
Pros: It is a very attractive and stylish hotel. Great location near many things. Our room was very good sized.
Cons: My one recommendation would be to include more shelves or a dresser in the room.
6,0 Good
Pros: It was nice to have a larger than normal room, very airy with a handy desk, etc
Cons: No bath, nice shower etc though.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Room decore was nice
Cons: No inroom facilities, poor menu (excuss as because they are in the middle of town you can go out to reasturants), no cooked breakfeast available, staff helpfulness was poor (was taken to the lift and left to my own devises to find the room)
5,2 Okay
Pros: Good location for where i needed to be.
Cons: Rooms were too small especially the bathroom, only a continental breakfast was available and a very limited choice of meals for dinner.
