Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Great location with great views especially on a summer's night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location and surroundings. I had a very comfortable evenings rest.
Cons: Unfortunately the road was closed to the hotel which extended my trip to my workplace, however this couldn't be helped. It was also a tad frustrating that we had not been informed to book in at the restaurant so we ended up eating in town.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The setting of the hotel was very picturesque. The hotel was lovely and clean. My room was delightful
Cons: Attention to the customer could improve. On arrival no information about when or where breakfast was. When asked where restaurant was I was told ‘Through there’ ! Dinner in the restaurant, I had to ask for a menu again no information about no table service after waiting 15 minutes, I went to the bar to be informed that I had to order from the bar. This was fine but the waitress should have told me that when she gave me the menu. Breakfast, was excellent food , I asked 1 waiter twice for a round of toast, then asked a second waiter for a round of toast, I’m still waiting. These are very small criticisms on a lovely hotel but the staff could do with being a little more attentive. Having said that I would stay again if in the area. Such a tiny improvement to detail would have been welcome.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean everywhere. Bathroom white grout -makes a change from other places
Cons: One guy in bar didn’t bring teaspoons for coffee, he spilt it in saucer had to ask him to clean it up. Then our guests arrived he obviously hadn’t learnt anything because we didn’t have teaspoons again.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I was blown away by the whole venue what a beautiful building and gardens also the staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful Will definitely be back our room was stunning
Cons: Absolutely nothing
6,3 Good
Pros: Large room, power shower, good quality toiletries, good restaurant. Nice little basket of stuff to make your own drinks, iron and ironing board and two fluffy bath robes.
Cons: Over priced for what is provided, no lift, no leisure activities, view of the fuel tanks, bins and rusty shipping containers. Noise from other rooms was also a problem. We had paid less and had a suit with sweeping views over extensive grounds, a swimming pool, golf course and gracious dining room.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Picturesque and utterly beautiful place to stay, staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Bathroom is extremely nice but has a low pressure shower system.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely ancient property. Set up now as a restaurant and wedding venue. The rooms were very spatious, clean, modern and comfortable. Pretty gardens and good car park.
Cons: The reception was in the bar. The receptionist was efficient but not welcoming. They need to have a proper reception if they want to sell this property as a hotel. The breakfast room and facilities were inadequate and soleless. Who ever is running this business has an eye on quality and comfort. But they need to examine who their customer is. I felt side lined by the over activities on site.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Large comfortable room. I slept well.
Cons: For some reason there was no handle on the outside of the bathroom door, making it difficult to shut
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, amazing facilities and rooms. The staff were great and very helpful. The cellar had a great menu and good quality food, and well priced!
Cons: No lift!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The website photo doesn't do the hotel justice. Historic building with contemporary interior.

Pros: The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. The staff were very good and helpful Car parking was good not far to walk into the hotel.
Cons: The water in the bathroom was very cold, when we asked we were told because of the water system you have to let it run for some time until the hot water comes through. A sign in the bathroom would have been helpful. Sadly the table top on the breakfast table was greasy and sticky. when I put my glass case down on it the case stuck to the table top.

Pros: Really friendly staff that were very helpful. Great breakfast cooked to order which was excellent. Room was clean and good facilities in the room-kettle with plenty of tea and coffee, iron and board, hair dryer etc
Cons: Door didn't shut properly unless you pulled it. No reception area-files left on a table by the door in full view of everyone. Quite noisy when other guests returned and shouted down the corridors (not hotels fault but it was after 1am!) Bathroom was small and the toilet seat wasn't on straight so it kept falling down!

Pros: Location. Large comfortable room. Bed very comfortable. Cleaning staff cheerful and efficient
Cons: Despite reporting a fault with the hot tap on our first night, no action was taken by maintenance staff. Accosted by barman when leaving restuarant with my guests, demanding to know if I had signed all bar and restuarant bills. Inept and ill mannered.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: Bed. Stairs. Very basic accommodation. Couldn’t eat the food.
7,0 Good
Pros: This is a well located premises with comfortable rooms. The staff were very helpful and courteous. It was excellent value for money.
Cons: There is little to fault here. Unusually the bathroom had no toiletries which was no inconvenience for me because I carry my own but might take someone by surprise. I imagine though that the staff would likely assist in those circumstances.
7,9 Good
Pros: We stayed room only. It was good value for money. The location was excellent for town centre
Cons: The drinks in the bar were more expensive than many of the surrounding bars.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fsntastic customer service. Nothing was toomuch trouble.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, good breakfast and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking available.
Cons: Not much really. Stairs are very steep and high to bedrooms but it's an old building.
6,3 Good
Pros: The staff were very nice and helpful particularly after I had been there for a couple of days. The bed was incredibly comfortable, television worked and the location was perfect for me as close to Stafford Archives.
Cons: I think the age of the building precludes it from being suitable as accommodation. The internet either didn't work or worked briefly depending on which room you were allocated. The showers were also an issue as one caused flooding, another was difficult to adjust the temperature and the other one sprayed willy nilly. Yes I had three rooms! Good internet and bed in one, terrible bathroom (room 25). No internet and great bed, layout in two but extractor fan would not cease even when turned off. Room 11 had a comfy bed but was really wonky! Floor crooked, no internet, no markings on shower taps regarding hot or cold. I really feel the staff are under-resourced and I appreciate their efforts but nothing can overcome the drawbacks of a very old building in a modern age.
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff did not seem happy and requests appeared as a chore! They did not seem to be prepared properly for the guests and you had to ask for milk small spoons and did not really listen to your breakfast requirements.
Cons: On one day our bed was not made, the mugs and spoons which were dirty were not replaced and although we did not request a change of towels three were taken off the rail leaving us with one towel. As we were out all day it was not possible to take the matter up with the management. On leaving the following day there was nobody on reception to speak to we were told they were possibly in the kitchen! As we had an urgent appointment we could not wait any longer.
6,3 Good
Pros: Spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows. Free WiFi. Ideal central location.
Cons: Unable to open window in room, no alternative fan in warm weather which meant uncomfortable nights sleep. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned before our arrival - bath not rinsed out and bin not emptied.
6,7 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and convenient being in the accommodation. The hotel itself is quite dated, but the location is great and the parking is really helpful.
Cons: The bathroom in particular was quite shabby. The shower door seal had come off. The radiator was stuck on full. The tiles and toilet could definitely have been cleaner.
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was clean and a nice size
Cons: The person that checked me in seemed a little unorganised and initially gave me the wrong check in form with someone else’s details on. The shower gel in the room had run out.
Alton Brook House - Stafford

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Super comfy beds! Lovely continental breakfast included
7,5 Good
Pros: Comfortable and something different, bit of an adventure for two little girls
Cons: No reception facilities, had to ring to find where key was etc
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this place just for somewhere to crash as was celebrating my sons 21st birthday at Alton Towers. As it turns out I accidently took the wrong caravan, but we were more than happy with where we stayed. It was cosy, warm and clean. Completely perfect for what we needed as other B&Bs were expensive for 6 of us.
Cons: The weather, it rained all weekend. Beautiful views though.
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: The fact it was so close to Alton towers theme park was good because that was where we spent our time. However it was quite difficult to find, because it wasn't an exact address on the satnav and pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
Cons: The 'chalet' (which actually turned out to be a very small Romany caravan) was not pictured anywhere on the website and was NOT suitable for 5 people (as stated). My 3 children had to share a bed which was smaller than a double bed and my husband and I were on the sofas (which apparently converted into a double bed, but would have then blocked the only doorway into the accommodation). When we arrived at the accommodation, there was no sign of any staff. My husband rang the bell and shouted several times to no avail. It was then that another resident told us to phone the owner and she would come across. When we spoke to her, we were told that the keys were in the door for us (despite us having no idea where we were staying!). The accommodation was dirty, had a broken blind (which meant that daylight streamed in VERY early!), and had nails sticking out of the floorboards. Although 'shabby chic' decor had been attempted, it was really just shabby! Breakfast consisted of an out-of-date loaf of bread, a few boxes of cornflakes and some cheap chocolate pancakes. There was no sugar in the pot and only UHT milk in the fridge. We were not treated to the views and animals as promised on the website and, when we tried discussing our unhappiness and disappointment with the owner, she was just downright rude.
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Not a lot.
Cons: The caravan was damp and dirty and we were expecting a cooked breakfast instead of a just a few boxes of cereals and not much else.
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Location only
Cons: Everything. No welcome on arrival, in fact avoidance I’d say. Obviously don’t like dealing with people and no customer service skills. Got a message a week before saying a problem with our booking, had to move from the folly to a mobile home but didn’t say why. Mobile home was extremely old, dirty, damp, stained everywhere, shabby. Poor breakfast looked nothing like pictures on website, no croissants or anything other than cereal and small loaf of bread. Small long life milk in fridge previously opened. No hot water for showers. When contacted owner they just kept saying ‘I don’t know why this would be’ but having read a review from the week before they had the same problem. Offered us a shower in the house but we didn’t want to trapse over to House across car park in dark (5 of us). Said we were disappointed with whole place, so they moved us into the junior suite in house. Much better but not without issue, one of the remotes missing a battery, tv Ariel kept falling out of wall. When hot in double bed mattress fell through frame half the slats had come off, my husband had to fix. Shower curtain of walk in shower was a few inches too short so water went everywhere. No crockery for the breakfast so we had to go and get from mobile home. Dodgy looking electrics. I could go on. No money spent in place in long time I’d say. Grounds look nothing like photos. Very stressful stay and way overpriced. Taking advantage of families going to Alton Towers!
6,7 Good
Pros: Comfortable, charming
Cons: I stayed at Alton Brook House with my Wife and three kids (12, 14,16). We booked the 1 bedroom Chalet which is described as sleeping 5. I called ahead a few weeks before to confirm the booking and double check it would be suitable for the whole family and was advised there would be no problem. To cut a long story short - it was not suitable. However, to their credit, the owners moved us into a wonderfully converted portakabin which was fantastic - compact but comfortable for all of us. Only issues with the whole stay - the portakabin was filthy - the shower had not been cleaned nor any of the kitchen surfaces. But the bedding and linen was fresh and it was comfortable. The key is just left in the door of the cabin/chalet so don't expect any kind of welcome - apparently this is how things are done in the country - at least that was the explanation I was given by the lady on the phone I spoke to when I arrived to checkin.
2,9 Mediocre
Pros: Ideal for dog walkers only
Cons: Very dirty Broken door handles Dog hairs in the bed Dead spider inside the fridge door Fridge dosent work properly Didn’t have hot water until we phoned the property owner Needs a LOT of TLC
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Large living / sleeping space which is great for family and outdoor area which would be fab for longer stays. We couldn’t work the TV but someone sorted for us very quickly.
Cons: With children a bath would have been helpful as shower not ideal. Or a lower shower head unit. No one there to greet you on arrival which would have been nicer.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The chalet was cosy and well equipped, the location was beautiful and very peaceful.
Cons: Everything was just perfect
