7,5 Good
Pros: Bed was comfy, just lower height wise than expected and wasn’t a memory foam mattress so when I moved my partner felt me moving. The ac unit in the bedroom was noise than the unit in the living area. An overall pleasant stay.
Cons: Bed not being higher and non memory foam and the noisy ac unit in the bedroom

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Beautiful clean rooms. Wonderful hotel staff! Will definitively stay here again!
4,0 Okay
Cons: funky smell of the room. Not worth the $$$ Continental part of breakfast was ok, hot buffet - eggs were horrible. this was one of the reason we picked this hotel because it included breakfast, but unfortunately we had to go out and pay for breakfast.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The suites and the pool
Cons: Nope
4,0 Okay
Pros: location and cleanliness
Cons: the housekeeping refused to show up after requesting for a cleanup after a toilet leak and the maintenance guy had to show up after repeating requests
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was updated and very comfortable and spacious. Having the mini kitchen was very helpful. The free breakfast was decent. Convenient location to many nearby towns and a lot of shopping and food nearby.
Cons: Honestly the only negative I have is the hair dryer they have in the rooms is old and barely works. That's the only negative I can think of.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The Lighthouse Suites is a beautiful, clean and provide everything for your stay!! No need to bring beach chairs or towels as they have them accessible for your in every room. This is the second time I've stayed and will absolutely do so again!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was so clean and proximity to the beach
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We could not have been more pleased with this unit. We had a one bedroom with full kitchen and living room. The space was more than adequate for the two of us. The unit had all new cooking appliances and washer/dryer. The bed was adequate, but not all beds are as comfortable as your own. A king size bed would have been a great offering in this unit. The view and the closeness to the ocean was perfect. A short stroll thru the dunes and we were on the beach. Being September, it felt as if the beach belonged to us. Perfect
Cons: The only thing that both my husband and I did not like was the stroll thru the dunes to get to the beach. Most days we walked barefoot and the deteriorating mat hurt our feet, but it was easier to walk on that than the soft and deep sand that was a bit of a struggle for us to keep our balance. this was such a minor struggle that I even hate to mention it. The younger generation will have no issues with this.

Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. The people were kind and very helpful. The food at the restaurant was very tasty and our server, Maggie, was friendly and went out of her way to be kind to our children. The view was spectacular. The lobby was beautifully decorated.
Cons: Nothing.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, great water view, super clean
Cons: Only two treadmills and one elliptical, and elevation function on neither treadmill worked. A small thing, but kinda important to a workout.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is near everything. It is very quiet and clean. Love having a water view. Quick check in and out. Valet was great. This was our 2nd time staying here.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: I was placed in a handicap accessible room with an unusual walk-in shower configuration; the drain was in the center of the bathroom. I had to sop up water with bath towels as water was around the toilet and in center of bathroom, causing a trip hazard.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location...couldn't have been more convenient to everything, especially to the Fore Street and Commercial Street shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was amazingly courteous, responsive, and friendly. The facilities were clean, modern, comfortable, and exceeded our expectations. We would definitely come stay here again on a future visit to Portland.
Cons: The room rate was rather steep, but probably to be expected during the "high season" in Portland.
6,0 Good
Cons: Paying for an ocean view but looking at a parking garage. Front desk staff was terrible.
5,0 Okay
Pros: good location
Cons: house keeping didn't do good job
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, staff, and food choices.
Cons: Our room had a terribly designed shower. It was a handicapped room and the entire bathroom filled with water when the shower ran. The drain in the room was not designed properly to accept the water runoff. We needed 10-12 extra towels a day to prevent the water from exiting the bathroom and reaching our hotel Room.
7,0 Good
Pros: within walking distance to many interests
Cons: $25 additional for parking above the room rental
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place!
Cons: Bar open alittle earlier than 5:00 would be the only thing i would have liked. Otherwise, this place is PERFECT!

9,6 Excellent
Pros: We really loved the eclectic decor (previous owners of the house were artists). The location is a quiet residential area with beautiful old houses but within walking distance of restaurants, museums and shops. The breakfast was also good.
Cons: Sometimes it seemed like they didn’t have enough people working there. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and homey.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely artistic home. Great experience. Very accommodating staff.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and service were exceptional. Staff was really the best, even cleared our car of 2 days of heavy snow!
Cons: 3 flights of stairs for seniors was a tad much, but hardly a major issue.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The overall experience was very pleasant and the unique creativity of decor much appreciated!
Cons: The breakfast experience was a little confusing, leaving guests unsure about food selections and the Inn’s morning routine. Most of our past Inn stays had someone greeting us and explaining the process etc.
Black Point Inn - Scarborough - Building

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Black Point Inn in Scarborough, you'll be next to a golf course, within a 10-minute drive of Higgins Beach and Prouts Neck. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free valet parking is available onsite.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Location and setting good. Restsurant average.
Cons: Nice location...property was needing updating..to be a truley nice destination.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location. Next to historic Cliff Walk and beach in a nice neighborhood. Like a large 1910 beach mansion. Nice staff.
Cons: Rather absurd elevator you had to get a staff member to operate. Overpriced. Somehow a room for $450 or so ends up costing over $1,100 for two nights. That ain’t “tax” alone. I think even $400 plus tax might be a little high for our pleasant but hardly lavish room. We stayed at the great Williamsburg Inn on this trip for $450 plus tax, and the room and the whole hotel were incomparably more luxurious than this one, with infinitely better facilities in an equally great location. Sure, luxury beach house is more casual, but less is usually charged for more casual, too.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Secluded, stylish, historic, unique, beautiful nature
9,6 Excellent
Pros: All Fabulous, staff very accommodating
Cons: there was a wifi dead zone in our room, wouldn't have been a problem so much but also no cell service either, just minor thing, maybe a new router would be good.
6,7 Good
Pros: fantastic location lovely outdoor dining
Cons: Noisy room
8,3 Excellent
Pros: A friendly, helpful staff with great attitudes. The location and views also cannot be beat!
Cons: Some of the furniture was a little worn and tired, and breakfast did not start until 8:00 a.m.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant is great and the location is exceptional

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location. Complimentary ice in evening and coffee try in am!!
7,0 Good
Pros: Location is best for an extended weekend trip, within walking distance to all shopping and restaurants, etc. The staff was friendly. This was first trip to Portland, and we loved the experience.
Cons: I thought it was a little pricey for the room size. We had two rooms and they were not really equitable, I didn't think. Also, the cost of parking was a little steep for me.
2,9 Mediocre
Cons: The staff at the front desk was incredibly rude, did not honor their advertisement or what was booked via phone call. The manager yelled at customers when asked why they wouldn’t honor their advertisement. My daughter and I will not be staying here again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved, loved , loved the location. Hotel was festive with Christmas decorations . Rooms and beds were comfortable . Downstairs bar was awesome. Very friendly accommodating staff. Breakfast at the restaurant was superb.
Cons: Hotel was under renovations, didn’t know that when we booked it. But it did not affect our stay at all.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Pro's : Location. Right in the middle of the Old Port. Complimentary room service coffee in a.m. Staff was friendly.
Cons: King suite was TINY for the amount of money it cost. Small, dated tv. Walls paper thin. Would not stay here again.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Right downtown made it easy to walk to shops
Cons: Elevator had a potent smell of smoke..caught us off guard for such a fine and elegant establishment
9,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved walking into our room to find the TV on the classical music channel and the buffet table open - a perfect atmosphere for NYE. The bed was turned down and with chocolates and a small bottled water on the beside tables. It was also wonderful to see a couple groups using the lobby sitting areas and enjoying their bottles of wine and socializing. A very warm and cozy feel.
Cons: The beds were firmer than I’d like and the heater was noisy when it kicked on. Awoke us from sleep a couple times.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved their set up for coffee and tea in the morning. It was simple however very convenient to have it on each floor.
9,6 Excellent
Cons: There was a night club close to the room that played loud music till 2 am
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was great there. I had injured my ankle on the street (after a snow storm) and felt like having some wine sent to my room, unfortunately the bar menu wasn’t in my room or online. However I called downstairs to let them know and a few minutes later there was a knock on my door, it was the restaurant manager John. He gave me a menu from the restaurant/ bar and took my order then brought the bottle back up to my room with fresh glasses. Having worked in restaurants and hotels before I know how going out of your way isn’t as simple as it seems and I greatly appreciate it!!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great- the valet attendants were very professional (and the parking was actually cheaper than the city parking garages) and the front desk staff were very helpful. They even had a complimentary car service! You also can't beat the location of the hotel- a minute walk and you're surrounded by beautiful shops and restaurants!
Cons: Our room was near the elevator and the pantry- due to the proximity of those two things, it was pretty loud throughout the night. There was a sign next to the pantry encouraging people to be quiet but I'm not sure that advice was taken. While the wooden floors were beautiful, I don't think they did a lot to muffle noise when people walked to their rooms in the middle of the night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! We were there on Dec 2019. The hotel was very wonderful. Staff is very polite and kind. Will be back for the next visit
Cons: Nothing:)

Cons: N/A
5,0 Okay
Pros: Close to airport and car rental services which helped with early morning departure.
Cons: Overall the hotel is a bit played out. Bath tub in bathrooms very old-fashioned; step-in showers much easier to use and safer. Wall mount AC units with electric heaters must be 30 year old technology. Noisy, can't hold set point.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: No
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Pool, spa, whirlpool
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic service. Very comfortable. Great location. Restaurant was awesome
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were big and beautiful but the real part that we loved was the complimentary evening snacks and drinks and the big complimentary breakfast. Never have a stayed in a hotel where the lobby really felt like a place your encouraged to hangout in rather than being an intrusion for hanging out in the lobby. Great place to stay and plan on returning!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What a fun place! I had heard about the Manager's reception from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, but nothing prepared me for what I experienced. Apparently, I was there on a very busy night so the lobby and bar were packed! Free wine, beer and mixed drinks, and snacks. It was a party! And everyone was friendly and in the spirit. Traveling alone, I felt part of it all and talked to people - it was a blast! Dinner in the restaurant was good as well, and complimentary breakfast the next morning was excellent. The rooms and bed were comfortable. Can't believe you get a whole suite for the money. All in all, excellent and I will always stay here when I'm in Portland!
Cons: Nothing.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Staff was great and very friendly. Reception hour was nice breakfast was great.
Cons: Food from restaurant was either over cooked or cold and not prepared as we had asked. Also was at checkin for 4 hours trying to get a room. They had all of my rooms messed up because if s 3rd party reservations. So charged me twice and locked up my credit card all weekend with authorizations that shouldn't have been on my card at all

Pros: This hotel was very different from most, and was a delight. It likely is not for everyone, but provides all one could ask for or need. Personnel was always helpful and courteous.
Cons: The distance from city center was the only disadvantage I found.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Convenient location and exceptionally friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: The room description was at once inaccurate (no in-room fridge and microwave, as indicated) and correct (no in-room bathroom). The inconvenience of an external, airless bathroom”at this price”marred our experience.

7,5 Good
Pros: The location was great, the room very clean and spacious.
Cons: I will not book this hotel again. There were unsupervised young children running up and down the hallways at 11:30 p.m. screaming and yelling, Slamming doors and very loud. The front desk did try to address the issue but the reprieve was a short lived 15 minutes until it started up again. This continued until 2:00 a.m. needless to say it was not a restful night at all. The hallway also had a heavy marijuana smell coming from one of the rooms.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: Recently with hotel stays we’ve noticed that when you try to place used towels on rack so they’re not cleaned most hotels are cleaning them anyway. We try to save energy as suggested but hotels don’t always follow through.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly. Starbucks located right in the lobby. Water views.
Cons: No bathtub - BUT had a super nice shower.
4,0 Okay
Pros: I liked that it was very clean.
Cons: There was no hot tub even though it is listed and there were pictures of the hot tub. I was told by a staff member that they blocked off the hot tub over a year ago. Why they haven't updated that on their website, I don't know. I was disappointed because that was the main reason we chose to stay there. I paid for breakfast included but the staff said that was only for one person even though I booked for 4 people. We never ate breakfast there. So I paid extra for breakfast for no reason. Very annoying.

Cons: I felt as though the front reception (one person-Tia) was overwhelmed by as many customers who were waiting for check in. Helper MIA (Heavy set guy) hanging in back room and then later on, consumed with internet browsing. Also, no toilet paper! Thankfully there was some facial tissue to save the day!
1,0 Poor
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Our room was unavailable at 3pm as advertised. We were advised that it would be ready within an hour. We walked around the city and kept ourselves busy for 4 hours, went to the movies etc. On return to the hotel at 7pm, we were informed that our room was still not ready!! We had no place to change or freshen up before our dinner reservation. We were so disappointed.

Pros: fantastic location lovely outdoor dining
Cons: Noisy room

Pros: A friendly, helpful staff with great attitudes. The location and views also cannot be beat!
Cons: Some of the furniture was a little worn and tired, and breakfast did not start until 8:00 a.m.

Pros: Really liked the woman at the front desk. She was super nice, provided great dining places. She also recommended the sister B&B, as well. Just so pleasant to to have a conversation with, in general.
Cons: We didn’t like the sounds above us. It was old structure, well kept but the floors above were all hard woods. It was noisy during the day so a nap as o day was quite impossible. Luckily they have a no noise policy at night so sleeping at night was great. We had our vacation on one of the last weekends of the season and breakfast offerings were pretty whittled down.
