Nimes hotels near Nimes Museum of Fine Arts

Pros: Location, opposite the railway and bus station. Cheap rates. Not a lot of services, but is good enough Relatively comfortable room

Cons: In comparison to other ibis budget, I missed a microwave for public use. Very, very slow water drainage in shower. Some nights, shower was more an alternance of hot and cold water than a mix. Internal building sounds, like doors closing, were more a problem than external soundproofing, for me well blocked by the window.

Pros: Close to everything. Very clean. Aircon in the rooms. You couldn't hear anything outside which was really good. Friendly staff and spoke english.

Pros: The welcome by a young woman was very pleasant. An offered breakfast toward the problem with the lavabo.

Cons: the channeling of my sink was completely obstructed, the water evacuated badly. I was offered to change rooms but I preferred to stay. The problem was the clogged ducting and the poor hygiene that resulted from it.

Pros: It was exactly what we expected. Good location. The guys on reception were very helpful & extremely polite, I would definitely stay there again.

Cons: Room needed paint and was worn. IBIS should know better than using flat sheen paint that can’t be easily cleaned without damaging drywall.

Pros: There are a number of ‘budget’ hotels in the area however having stayed previously in a few of the others this hotel was better. The receptionist was especially helpful

Pros: A modern and comfortable hotel, part of a large French chain. The air-conditioning was a godsend in the record 43C heatwave. Location in the heart of the city excellent for the Roman arena and Greek temple.

Cons: Could not get to hotel parking. Street in front was blocked and we did not know an alternate route to get to the hotel parking. had to park in nearby city underground garage which meant we have to drag our luggage up and down steps.

Pros: The bar staff was extremely sweet and helpful. There wasn't much else that we liked besides the fact that the elevator to our room arrived quickly.

Cons: The front desk staff was unhelpful. There was no personnel to help with our luggage. There was no lift to the limited parking area. The parking structure was not regulated at all so that many cars took up two spaces. The gates would never open automatically - we had to call for the gate to be opened and the personnel was extremely rude on the phone and hung up instantly when we were simply asking to get out of the structure. It was a long wait to get in and out with our car. It was extremely difficult to move our luggage in and out of the hotel as well. Our hotel room key also kept deactivating when we did nothing wrong (it was not kept by a cellphone or other cards) so we had to take an extra 10 minutes to go all the way back down SIX FLOORS to get the key reactivated and then go all the way back up. We have enjoyed the previous hotels and personnel that we have experienced in France before we arrived at this hotel, and this hotel was an unfortunate exception.

Pros: Parking in the hotel car park was easy and reasonably priced. Reception was airy and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Very central location, just across the esplanade to the Arena, 20 minute walk to the Jardins and Diana's temple and lots of bars and mid priced restaurants within easy walking distance. Pedestrianised immediate area so no real traffic noise. Tourist bus stop opposite hotel which did a circuit of the city, taking you to all the popular points of interest, but not in service when we were there due to road works. Air con in room was efficient and very welcome as it was baking hot when we were in Nimes. Nice bathroom, lovely toiletries and good hairdryer! Quiet room. Great coffee machine in breakfast room. Free refreshing welcome drink on arrival.

Cons: Breakfast was OK, very limited cooked food, basically just eggs, plenty of bready type things to eat, not worth the 16 euro price. View from bedroom was disappointing, overlooked block of flats and a concrete wall.

Cons: When we arrived there was a sign saying that their carpark was full, so we had a horrendous time parking nearby. When we checked in we were told there was plenty of space in their carpark, they just hadnt bothered to remove the sign. We ended up paying for both carparks.

Pros: The double-room with kitchenette was brilliant. Good value for money. The staff were very helpful and polite at all times. Keep up the good work Appart'City Nimes!

Cons: The parking was horrible. The hotel shares a few places in a longer row of offices and shops. Fortunately we were able to utilize handicapped parking or we would have been out of luck.

Cons: Hotel staff tried to take money out of my account for no reason upon arrival. Upon questioning what the payment was for, they claimed that it was ‘to ensure that my card works and to pay for city tax’ - city tax was £7 and they tried to take out £44!! I had a receipt to prove that I already paid for the room and city tax upon booking the room. Hotel staff asked me to pay for city tax AGAIN upon check out, until I showed them the receipt and they said ‘ok don’t worry’
