Stunning courtyard with fantastic staff
This hotel was only a 15 min walk (even for a tired 4yr old) to the center/train station but felt more like a small tucked away hotel you might find on a hillside somewhere. The courtyard/pool is stunning, with a really nice space for eating outside as well. The wind in Nîmes meant it never got too hot, but also meant the water in the pool was very very cold. The train to the beach at Grau du Roi (where the water is a bit warmer) took less than an hour and was only €1 each way. Great boulangerie across the street, plus a Carrefour just around the corner. The friendliness and helpfulness of the reception staff really sets this hotel apart. I travel extensively for work and can only think of one other hotel with staff so helpful, and that was after staying at that hotel for a month, not just the few days I spent at L'Orangerie.
We stayed in two different rooms. The first was more expensive but a bit more shabby. Its shower room really needed updating. The next room we had booked was much more cheerful and fresh, and the bathroom was fine.
Easy to find.
Bed was terrible as both twins rolled into the center so that you were lopsided. Also noise from the highway is loud. Sleep was difficult and this hotel does not measure up to other Best Westerns.
Quit nice small and hospitality but need some repairment. Staff is good. Breakfast very poor
Bathroom is very old and needs some repairing bath and toilet
It was a convenient stop before leaving early in the morning for the airport.
Did not like the fact that the restaurant was full and we could not dine there.
The restaurant in this hotel i very good.
