8,8 Excellent
Pros: Ambience and history
Cons: Only two English breakfast tea bags in room. Noisy fan in bathroom.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the hotel was ideal. Staff couldn't be more helpful.
Cons: It was too warm in the room. The radiators weren't even on.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was lovely. I've known the "Talbot" as an ancient building for most of my life and I love it. Reception, restaurant and bar areas are very inviting and the open fire in the lounge bar is the icing on the cake. My room was warm and comfortable and, with breakfast, was very good value for money.
Cons: The standard of welcome unfortunately isn't consistently maintained throughout the building. The stair and landing carpets need replacing and there are some grubby corners!!!! As soon as you've left the main entrance you feel as though the behind the scenes areas are a bit neglected. The shower water struggled to reach lukewarm (I did mention this to the receptionist who said he would try to rectify the problem). Bathroom needed a good clean to get rid of mould on the edge of the bath and dirty spots on the tiles.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful

Cons: nothing

1,0 Poor
Pros: People in the corridor shouting all night running up and down went down to reception to tell someone no one was around . Also when coming in from a party went to the bar to get a drink no one was around so we gave up and went to bed with the worst nights sleep possible

7,0 Good
Pros: Very friendly welcome and spotlessly clean throughout
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was lovely, clean and the lady that owned it took care if everything.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: My room was clean and a reasonalble size for one - it needs some small refurbishments (ie hole in bathroom door, sorting out of bottom of shower cubicle) but basically it was in good order. A very good shower. Manager was very helpful - I brought a ready meal (as a lady on her own, didn’t fancy going out to eat!) and allowed me use of her kitchen/microwave. Also there was no hairdryer in the room but the manager immediately went and got one for me. The breakfast was excellent - cereals, toast, full cooked breakfast - so very good value for money.
Cons: Only small things as detailed above. The pillow were rather hard but that’s probably a personal preference.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very quite, easy to get to the city
Cons: The sign post is not big and bright enough so one can easily missed it.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable warm room. I was late for breakfast, but still offered coffee and toast.

Pros: Lovely breakfast. Comfy bed.
Cons: Someone snoring and being sick in the next room.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great value for money. Very clean with beautifully pressed sheets. Bathroom simple but good shower pressure Little extras such as an iron and hairdresser. Traditional but good breakfast - friendly owner/manager. Near to town and bus stop outside.
Cons: For the price I could not fault it,

7,5 Good
Pros: The bar and restaurant serve delicious dinner and breakfast. Good value for money overall.
Cons: A bit of struggle to find the place as satnav navigation using either booking.com direction or postcode send me to the village on the wrong side of A1. Pros: Beautiful decoration in bedroom, very comfortable bed. Warm and welcoming on a very frosty night. Good breakfast, friendly staff and generally a very warm, friendly feel to the inn.
Cons: Not a question of not like, rather that the standard of the bathroom did not match at all to the beautiful bedroom. Functional rather than high standard.

4,0 Okay
Pros: Food was ok
Cons: Phone in room was broken , when water running from Bathroom basin all stuff was coming up obviously blocked somewhere .
7,5 Good
Pros: Professional friendly staff, great food, excellent location, clean, well stocked bar, no waiting - staff were ‘on it’. Thank you.
Cons: The bed was ‘unstable’, wobbled, squeaked. it was the smallest single bed I’ve ever seen! The partitioning was done so badly that it sounded like the chap in the room next door was sitting in my room with me! Very unsettling. My neighbour smoked and blew the smoke into the extractor in his bathroom.... which was linked by ducting in the ceiling to my bathroom. Hence smoke filled my bathroom. The cost - i can get a comfortable, private double room just down the road for an extra £5. No brainer. It’s a shame because the location is spot on.
4,0 Okay
Pros: Nice staff nice place
Cons: Very Noisey music till early morning, people next door in and out of there room , even knocking on the door between our room , not a good nights sleep at all !
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel is being renovated so some things were still in the process of being finished. Otherwise a nice place to stay.
Cons: Awful pillows!
6,0 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly and the location was perfect for what we needed. 15 mins walk to the centre of Peterborough for dinner and easy access in the car to the hotel. The room was a nice size and had all the facilities you might expect and the shower was easy to use.
Cons: The breakfast was very average, nothing special. The room was a bit noisy - at first from noise outside the hotel such as the metal fire escape stairs banging and then our room door seemed to wiggle and bang through the night. It must have been whenever any of the near by rooms opened their doors in the night. Whilst shampoo and soap was provided, it's in small plastic bottles and there also was no conditioner provided.
6,0 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful. The location was idea for our visit to Peterborough
Cons: You could not change the temperature of the water on the shower, which was quite hot. Also the basin hot water got very hot, a warning notice should be in the bathroom.

Pros: nothing
Cons: walls were filthy looked like a drink had been thrown at them, shower room flooded and leaked into the room, room was next to a public door so every time someone used it our room banged, heating was turned of through the night so couldn't dry our wet work clothes for the next day, would never go back way to expensive for the money paid

Pros: I liked the location and the free car park. The staff were very accommodating and the family party they hosted for us was lovely. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The shower was hot and the towels fresh.
Cons: It was a little rickety inside but comfortable and clean.

Pros: Beds were comfy, host was very friendly, breakfast was good, staff accommodating with additional towel and iron.
Cons: Noise was excessive, given the function that was happening on site. No pre warning of the event. Finished at 12:30.
