Pros: Staff were lovely, as was the location. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The Roslin deserves its stars. We also were part of a wedding reception at the hotel and the whole day (ceremony, reception, dinner, disco) was fantastic. What a great experience.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We knew the hotel was on the beach front but were pleasantly surprised when the hotel had beautiful palm trees, plants, furniture both outdoors and indoors which looked amazing. Also we were greeted by the friendly receptionists who told us we had been upgraded which we loved! The room was beautiful with blue accents, clean, modern, fairly large and had a lovely ocean veiw. The bathroom was amazing!! We also asked about their spa to which guests get 20% off so me and my partner both enjoyed massages the next morning, the spa waiting room makes you feel like royalty and the massages were greqt and relaxing. Would 100% go back there
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel, definitely a 10/10!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Southend-on-Sea is a hidden gem and the Roslin Beach Hotel is wonderful. The location was perfect, right on the seafront with beautiful views of the bay, walks along the beach and also within walking distance to stores and pubs. The staff were super friendly and courteous. The food was delicious and the room was lovely. Very large and comfortable bed, seating area, great bath and all (and I do mean all) amenities provided.
Cons: Protected parking onsite is free which was great. Only drawback was that the hotel is so lovely that once or twice, parking was a bit tricky as the hotel is very popular for afternoon tea, Sunday lunch and dinner.

Pros: We had an accessible Bedroom which was fine. Massive room big accessible shower lovely
Cons: Food was absolutely diabolical
9,6 Excellent
Cons: The bed blanket had some stains on it
10,0 Excellent
Pros: My stay was for one night only, next to the airport to enable a early morning flight. The location for the airport and the train station is excellent but only for that reason would i stay there as nothing else of interest at that location.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The roast, the handcream and the staff
Cons: The was a weird stain on the bed back board
5,0 Okay
Pros: Room size was good and bathroom lovely.
Cons: The fact that the room service was very expensive and they have taken money out of my partners account 3-4 times and charged £18 for what we actually ordered. We was staying for my partners twins wedding and when we arrived back at the hotel 2:30am a fire alarm went of and the whole building had to be evacuated. I was tired and freezing cold and still got charged room service, I think as a sorry gesture on behalf on the holiday inn they could have waved the room service charge off or given us some money back as we paid double as to what the rest of the family paid as they got a room at the premier inn.
5,7 Okay
Pros: Location and modern feel
Cons: Air condition noisy and too cold. Staff not very friendly more matter of fact so didn’t make us feel special

Cons: We didn’t have breakfast in our deal, for the money we paid it would have been nice to have it but it wasn’t a priority we still had a lovely stay
5,7 Okay
Pros: Warm welcome, friendly atmosphere made me feel very at ease.
6,0 Good
Pros: The room was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee, the staff were friendly.
6,3 Good
Pros: Very friendly owner and freshly decorated.
5,7 Okay
Pros: Very friendly owners
5,7 Okay
Pros: Location. Breakfast. Owners.
Cons: Almost booked a nearby place at half the price, but was swung by the prospect of an 'Executive Room'. The Waverley has some really lovely rooms... but not all of them it seems, & unfortunately the room we got was a disappointing one - duvet had cigarette burn; carpet was most stained I've ever seen; room was cramped; had to stand on the bed to operate tv from the top (no remote). It's a shame as some rooms looked great, but that just makes it even more disappointing when you pay the same money for one of the poorer ones. We asked if there was another room - but they were all reserved, which shows that people in the know, do return. For a lovely stay ask for one of the more recently refurbished rooms, otherwise you might be disappointed
5,6 Okay
Pros: Lovely styled room, nice suprise. loved the sofa. loads of tea, sugar and milk always an asset
Cons: Heating didnt work. toilet was heavily stained and smelt, holes in the sheets blinds didnt close at the bottom, had to stand on sofa to draw the curtain. fire alarm sounds 'fire in zone 1. there wasnt any members of staff on site so I dealt with it, muting the alarm and calling a number. My guess is a smoker but if it hadnt been we could have been in trouble
6,4 Good
Pros: Good clean family run hotel. Pleasant staff, good facilities and close to attractions. a great bar/bistro with a seaside outlook was situated on the beach a few yards away.
Cons: None

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Clean Loved the family room Though the floor needs refurbishment Overall the place is nice
Cons: I wish the staff could be a little bit more friendly and approachable Smile a bit
8,8 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before as it is very convenient for visiting our son and his family. The staff are nice and the rooms large. Beds comfortable.
Cons: The towels are too small and past their sell by date. Could do with a slip mat for the bath as there is no handle either
7,5 Good
Pros: The room was nice but bed too small for the space it was in.
Cons: I can't Express enough my concerns of NOT having a disabled parking spot. It's unreasonable in this day and age, not to have it. Where we did finally get a spot, was around the side of the hotel, in a VERY DANGEROUS, not lit, uneven paved car park. My husband uses a walking stick and had difficulty seeing where he was walking. We were/are not impressed.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly, the rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious, had a very comfy bed, two armchairs, desk and a view onto the garden. Piping hot water in the bathroom. Plenty of tea, coffee & milk in the room. Breakfast was £5, value for money.
Cons: Although the breakfast was plentiful and very nice it could have been a little hotter.
7,1 Good
Pros: Very kind staff
Cons: There was a very limited menu because the whole place was taken up with a massive birthday party. We felt it lacked any atmosphere.
3,7 Mediocre
Pros: The staff seemed nice
Cons: Although it is not far from the airport, it is not possible to walk to the airport. I travelled on the train and had to get a taxi from the train and then in the morning back to the airport (c. £7.50 each way) . Consider this when compared to the other airport hotels. - The two big problems with the hotel were- 1. The carpet in my room was physically soaked by the door to the bathroom. I did not realise to just before I was going to sleep as I had my shoes on before. I left very early in the morning and there was nobody at reception to tell them in the morning. I had read a number of reviews saying that the place smelled like there had been a flood. It would seem to me that the issue is more fundamental, whether it's a plumbing or a ground water issue, there are some serious issues. 2. More annoying probably, the WiFi didn't work. I needed to do some work and had to tether to my phone to get any internet.
6,0 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Met with my requirements. Budget price for a large enough room, decent bed and clean. So it ticked my boxes. It's everything I needed on this occasion.
Cons: Nothing
6,0 Good
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Rooms needed modernising, I’m sure it was clean but because it was dated it didn’t come across like that eg rust on the soap dispensers

Cons: Tv small and too high up. Beds a bit lumpy and lamps too dark to read by and centre lights too bright. Room was also quite cold and the setting for the heating was behind and bottom of the bed, took a bit of adjusting.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, nice clean room and freshly cooked breakfast.
Cons: All good, nothing negative to say.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room and lovely breakfast
5,8 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff and great location. Delicious breakfast with many options available.
Cons: There’s a safety fire exit light in the room that you can’t turn off. This means it is like sleeping with a nightlight on. So avoid if you’re a light sleeper

Pros: I now always book my room at the Bull whenever I am in the area. The rooms are very comfortable, always clean and the facilities (apart from small TV!) are great. The very best reason though is the staff, always friendly and professional. Their willingness to ensure your stay is the best it can be makes all the difference. (That and the fabulous breakfast !!!!)
