8,0 Excellent
Pros: The owner really makes you feel welcome, the beds are good, in the neighborhood are a lot of nice restaurants and the eggs at breakfast are yummie!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very kind service. Delicious breakfast. Very nice area of Antwerp. Nice restaurants nearby.
Cons: Some noise from the outside.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The owner/manager of the building greeted me with a fantastic welcome and always referred to me by my first name whenever he saw me throughout and made check in as quick as possible. Before I even went to my room I was told I was upgraded to a bigger room and given some delightful tips and places to eat around the local area. Usually I stay in the Centre and although I was just slightly further out then normal I was in the museum area with some hip and trendy places to eat and it was close to walk or catch a tram. The room was good and decorated well and to a high standard with great broadband and good bathroom facilities and brilliant samples from Rituals. The shower was strong and the room had great A/C. I couldn’t hear a thing when I went to bed (although it was a full hotel) and had an enjoyable few days. There was an honesty bar packed full of wonderful refreshments and a very clear system on how to use. On checkout I was given a cheerful goodbye and a discount voucher to use again.
Cons: I was very pleased the room was automatically upgraded and delighted with the room set up but perhaps a double bed rather than two singles together would have been better as I could feel the slight gap between the beds when I was in the middle and a little nervous the two beds would separate during the night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: the best place to stay in the business trip!
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We had a very good moment at Maison Emile. The host is super friendly (from the welcome, the tips for visits and restaurants, until breakfast and checkout). The building is nicely decorated. The room was cute, clean and fresh. The breakfast was good! The hotel is close to the part of the city with all local bar and restaurants, but the rest of the historical city is also easily reachable by walk or public transport. There is also a big free parking nearby. So good address to bookmark!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean boutique hotel with a personal " antwerp" touch. Staff goes at great length to provide the necessary service. Good and healthy breakfast.
Cons: The air-co made a sissing sound all the time, so we had to put it off. Happily it was not necessary to have it on all night, although it became a little bit chilly in the morning. The acoustic isolation between rooms could have been better, our neighbors where loud when they came in, in the middle of the night.(but that was on the account of the neighbors, not on the account of the hotel, rude people, you find them everywhere.

Pros: cosy environment, more personal, providing a feeling of home. Friendly and professional staff, very umch customer oriented, excellent breakfast and convenient location.
Cons: nothing to report
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Julien embodies the best of 21st century Antwerp. It is a gentle lesson in the art of good living. The building’s natural virtues have been sympathetically and expertly anointed by Van Duysen’s modernist language. It is comfortable, informal, and elegant. The staff are helpful, but not intrusive. Nothing is a problem, equally nothing is too much trouble. A joy.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Very charming and well located property with spacious and quiet room.

9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, the staff super-friendly and the breakfast outstanding. The room was very nice and spacious and especially the bathroom was an experience.
Cons: the bed was not so good (at my end-my wife liked it a lot) and I felt the blanket was too warm.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed our 3-night stay at Hotel de Witte Lelie. The decor was beautiful, we loved the different themed rooms, beautiful textures and creative furnishing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, accommodating all our requests and making our stay very comfortable and superbly enjoyable! Breakfast had a good selection of good quality, healthy items (and not so healthy, your pick!). The hotel was quiet and located very conveniently with short walk to many good restaurants and best shopping in Antwerp, as well as the museums. Really enjoyed the non-hotel vibe ie only doorbell entry, no public access made it feel more like a home rather than a transit point. Would definitely stay again during our next visit!
Cons: Would have been nice to have fitness facilities, but for a short stay this wasn’t a big deal as all other amenities made up for its absence. I might also struggle ever having breakfast without candles and a fireplace...
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel decor was really nice and the room was super comfortable with a lot of space. Lots of towels in the bathroom was really nice touch. Breakfast (although a little expensive) was fantastic.
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent

Pros: I have stayed before and went back as it is a very convenient and comfortable hotel. Reception staff are friendly and welcoming - one of them remembered me from my last stay!

Pros: Beautiful meticulous beaux arte mansion converted into b&b. Family owned by distinguished gentleman Renee & his dachshund Geoff. Artwork, stained glass, ironwork detail is exquisite. Room is no frills yet all the comforts including robes and bathroom amenities. Delicious elegant European breakfast included.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful family run small hotel with a lot of taste, charm and individuality. It is situated in an Art Deco building. When you enter you feel an old world hospitality there, you meet the owners of the old school of hoteliers who care for you. Staff are helpful, served breakfast had everything one could desire, was delicious and everything was freshly prepared and of a high quality. Room was well appointed, beds were comfortable. The hotel is close enough to public transport to get into medieval Antwerp in about 10 minutes on the tram No 7.
Cons: Nothing related to the hotel itself. There was a small issue about reservation through booking.com which had been already paid but did not show in the system of the hotel, so I had to pay twice. The price was later refunded to me by booking.com.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel have both personalities, charm and wonderful owners. If you should have good, memorable traditional stay in a hotel Antwerpen. Then you should book this hotel. M

Cons: I cannot think of anything that I did not like.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Bery comfortable
Cons: Because of the wooden floors it can be a little noisy
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfy, location excellent, breakfasts excellent range of choices
Cons: Pillows are a bit too thick to get comfortable
9,6 Excellent
Pros: It was a great central location virtually round the corner from the main square, the restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and had a good wide choice. Our room was pretty and well presented. We would happily recommend it and thought it was good value for money for such a central location...with breakfast.
Cons: It would have been nice to have had tea making facilities in our room, but there was nothing else to dislike.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: We booked 2 rooms. Both were spacious, clean and had comfy beds. The hotel breakfast was fresh and had a variety of food options. They also had a nice coffee/tea station. We loved the freshly squeezed juices. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful with directions and dinner reservation recommendations. We will definitely return next time we are in Antwerp.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: location, style
6,0 Good
Pros: Staying for a night for a city break. Perfect location and hotel was just as billed. Sadly no big window but fine Bathroom was large and had what was needed. Big comfy bed but pillows not great.
Cons: Standard room for £180 a night would hope for a little more touches. Only had one bedside light which was odd. But it’s really only nit picking as only staying for a night and needed central with charm which wasn’t a ripoff

7,0 Good
Pros: Location is excellent. Very close to the Central Station.
Cons: Cost of breakfast and overall cost. The cost is above the level of the hotel.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: good rooms , excellent breakfast , nice area
7,7 Good
Pros: Really good location close to to the central station and city center. Friendly staff and comfortable bed.
Cons: I didn't like the view from the room. It's next to some offices.
7,5 Good
Pros: Property was in a good location by the station and close to where I was visiting for the few days in Antwerp. The hotel room was pleasant and unconditionally quiet with no noise despite being a bigger hotel than what I normally stay in. The bed was spacious and inviting and the room had all the basics. Hotel bar had a good selection of beers although I didn’t use the restaurant as I went out in the city and tried a few places. The room was good value for money.
Cons: Although the room was large and clean the A/C could have been more powerful. Although the bed was great the duvet was a little heavy and I was warm during the night (despite not being under it). This next part is a little shallow: the mirror was on the wall by the bedroom door right under a very unflattering light when the light was switched on. If, however, you turned it off you couldn’t see yourself properly.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very good location. Very friendly staff, always ready to help out. Room was large and clean. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit too expensive.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Have never had a bad stay - great staff, great bedroom, food always good.
Cons: I think we should have been forewarned about the renovations that are currently in place. I feel the breakfast is over-priced. Whilst it is a good breakfast, I don't feel it justifies EUR23. Sauna was great but you need to insert your room card and then wait outside the sauna for 30 minutes in order for it to warm up.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed in that hotel for the second time. Rooms are comfortable, staff - friendly and cooperative, and very close to central railway station.
Cons: No complaints.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It's always like coming "home". My fourth visit and I always feel so welcome. The staff are friendly, they are accommodating and are there to assist whenever required. We upgraded our rooms for a small fee of EUR10 and it was worth every cent... being able to bath when coming from drought stricken Cape Town was just wonderful :)
Cons: Unfortunately, the restaurant is not open on a Sunday evening, so only a few snacks available. When you have travelled for 24 hours and don't want to venture out, its a bit disappointing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No USB charging ports and no international power outlets in the rooms.
8,3 Excellent
Cons: Check-in too long , 20 minutes!

5,0 Okay
Pros: Close to business meetings I had; owner did help me carry my bags up and down the stairs
Cons: Very difficult staircases high up, sunk in bathtub that was very difficult to get into, steps up to bathtub without handrail, hairs in bathtub, towels old and worn out, no fresly brewed coffee for breakfast (guests are supposed to make their own with the machine provided), many spot lights not working, no make up mirror, no shampoo, no conditioner, no body lotion (just 3x hair&bodywash), pool not available, for sauna one needs to make prior reservation (but how can one know that if one hasn’t been there before), breakfast served in room but quality of food very low, everything quite dated
7,1 Good
Pros: Apprently we were satisfied with staying here. But we would not come back. Impressive bath system, braod main bed and tidy kitchen were there.
Cons: however second bed wasn’s good and breakfast was not good enough. A man delivered a heavy tray to 3rd floor. That was colourful but lukewarm, unfresh bread, no fruit with some mini tomatos. I have to give 7 star
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly. The apartment was very spacious, especially the bathroom and the breakfast, fresh, delicious & on time!
Cons: Location isn't very central but only a 10 min cab ride
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our host were very friendly and helpful. They provided us a lot of information about Antwerp and provided a map with pointing out some places to visit. We asked for the availability of the poll in the morning and it was provided the same day. The breakfast was huge and delicious and the variation of the different food was enough for the days we stayed. The room was clean and big and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back.
Cons: Nothing to mention.
7,1 Good
Cons: There is a disco studio downstairs and although we were told that we won't hear any noise being on the 2nd floor it was not possible to sleep until 2am in the morning.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly and approachable staff. Well furnished room.
Cons: I wish the cleaner had come to change the sheets every day.
7,9 Good
Pros: 4 days sheets were not changed and we had to ask for clean towels
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Very well-appointed rooms, spacious, comfortable and simple and airy decor. Huge and very comfortable beds. Very smart common areas, inviting reception and restaurant. Friendly and competent staff. Great location close to central station, yet quiet. Overall, a very pleasant experience and definitely a repeat.
Cons: The bathroom, while clean, could probably do with refreshing soon. A persistent smell of mould belies old pipes and did subtract from overall review. Also, the party walls were thin - which generally might not be a problem but when your neighbour is keen to tell his business partner about red light conquests AND tell his wife how hard he's working over Skype, but not quite trusting Skype to reach all the way to his home continent, then the volume carries. And at late night and 5am these conversations one could really do without overhearing....
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The property was comfortable and centrally located. There were plenty places to eat within walking distance.
Cons: The bathroom was acceptable but could do with upgrading. A coffee maker and kettle were provided but we had to ask for some larger cups.
6,3 Good
Pros: Location is great. The room has excellent equipment. The shower is superb.
Cons: Washing up left in dishwasher. Any sound from the corridor could be clearly heard in the room. Building works not highlighted by staff or when booking.

Pros: - close to the historic city centre - the owner was very helpful (prepared maps for us, told us about tourist attractions and public transportation), he even booked a taxi from the airport for us on arrival and picked us up from the property to the airport after check-out - tea and coffee in the room - the apartment was clean
Cons: - a little bit claustrophobic bathroom, but that's all
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Paul was super helpful with getting us settled and providing maps and suggestions for exploring Antwerp - very appreciative of his help with street parking and I distance on carrying our heavy bags up the 3 flights of stairs - great location convenient to transporting, restaurants and a gelato shop next door - Paul was a wonderful host that we would love to stay with again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely lovely! Spacious, bright, cosy, quiet! Perfect location to explore Antwerp! Paul's hospitality, friendliness and helpfulness is hard to top. We will be back.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good location south of old citycenter. Host very helpful with carparking and sightseeing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Zuid: 5-10 minute walk to a huge selection of restaurants and bars, not to mention the gelato shop next door! The room has everything you need - small fridge, kettle and a microwave. I found the bed to be very comfortable. Paul is a great host - helpful and very accommodating.
Cons: Personal preference - not a fan of the coffee pads coffee machines.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed spacious apartment and Pauls warm welcome and instructions. It's one of the best places I've stayed.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location is fantastic, close to the best cafés and restaurants, but still not busy. And Paul is a man that one can be friend with since the first word one exchanges with him. Informative, helpful, friendly. The room was clean and perfect size, and the breakfast is nice, from a local bakery. Looking forward to go there again.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely wonderful place in the nice Zuid part of Antwerp. They have a few apartments apart from the lovely room I was staying in, which had coffee and tea facilities and a fridge. The room is in many ways very simple but in the most positive sense of this term and perfect size for somebody travelling alone. Paul is a fabulous host, making sure that you have all you need, and with an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of Antwerp, able to answer all your queries. My computer back pack, for example, needed to be replaced and immediately he told me about the nearest shop, where, indeed, they solved my problem in a most satisfactory way. I have no doubt that this is where I will stay next time I visit Antwerp
Cons: The mozzies were a bit of a nuisance but who can blame that on the establishment!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was cosy and clean. Paul is one amazing host, he helped with suggestions regarding restaurants and other things to see in Antwerp. For sure we are coming back to this place next time we are in Antwerp
Bed & Breakfast Exterlaer - Antwerp - Building

Overview Reviews
Located in Antwerp, Bed and Breakfast Exterlaer is a 3-minute drive from Stampe and Vertongen Museum and 6 minutes from Wijnegem Shopping Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I really love this bed&breakfast. The place, the location, the room was great, clean and comfortable. The garden can make me feel really relax during breakfast. The balcony from the bedroom is nice. I could see the beautiful sunrise sky from my bed. Love it. The owner are really nice and friendly. They help giving information i needed. Breakfast was nice. Ps. The cat is cute also.
Cons: Only thing that i don’t feel comfortable is they don’t have the door to completely seperate the bedroom part and bathroom part in my room. That’s it.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored house in a quiet residential area. Friendly owners. Nice breakfast with high quality ingredients. We did not sit in the garden as it was too cold outside but in summer it must be a lovely spot to have breakfast.
Cons: Minor comments: parking is for free but it might take some time to find a parking spot as it is located in a residential area. Curtains do not obscure the room completely so you wake up at sunrise.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place, our second stay in this B&B was again superb. Quiet room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast of off course a very warm and helpful welcome.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Decoration, hospitality, lication
Cons: Everyting! Complete perfection!!! And fantastic decoration & style, designed by the very talented host himself, perfect breakfast, beautiful garden, one of the greatest hospitality experience and close to the biggest natural swimming pond in Belgium, the Sportpaleis, the Riverenhof and the centre of Antwerp. I am a fan!!!!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The owners ,who live in the the adjacent townhouse , were gracious and informative. They are artists who beautifully restored ed and furnished the property. The Exterlaer perfectly met our locational needs, and met our it "charm standard" . It is located in an early twentieth century neighborhhod with a diversity of architecture. Free parking was available about a block away.Parking in Central Antwerp is expensive and restricted. A tram, however is located a half block away ,and it provides easy access to Central Antwerp as well as the Osli Coglei (sp?) art nouveau district, Antwerpen is an overlooked city,
Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very helpful, made us feel very welcome. The bed was very comfy, the room was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was superb.
Cons: I had a problem with opening the front door with the code. The problem was not with the code itself but turning the knob of the door in the right direction.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The house and decor are very attractive and the rooms expansive. The location is close to the city centre easily accessible by No 9 tram. There is an excellent restaurant nearby. The continental breakfast is very comprehensive and tasty catering for all tastes. Daniel and Linda are truly wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble and they are very knowledgeable with reference to the local area and the city. If I should need to stay in Antwerp again then undoubtedly it would be here!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I think Bed & Breakfast Exterlaer is a guest house rather than a hotel. I would say that it is really cozy and welcoming. Interior inside is basically a home. There is even a cat that will come to say hello at a breakfast! The hotel is located in a quiet and nice area and there is a park nearby. There is a tram line No.9 that will take you to the center of the city in 15 minutes. The hosts attitude is very pleasant. In the beginning I was maybe a little bit confused by the attention from the hosts (that you normally don't get at hotels), but then I got used to it and realized that it is actually a hospitality. The only thing I could point out is that the house has wooden floors inside and when people walk and talk in the staircase one can hear it from the room. But this was not really a problem for me.
