Pros: Close to business meetings I had; owner did help me carry my bags up and down the stairs
Cons: Very difficult staircases high up, sunk in bathtub that was very difficult to get into, steps up to bathtub without handrail, hairs in bathtub, towels old and worn out, no fresly brewed coffee for breakfast (guests are supposed to make their own with the machine provided), many spot lights not working, no make up mirror, no shampoo, no conditioner, no body lotion (just 3x hair&bodywash), pool not available, for sauna one needs to make prior reservation (but how can one know that if one hasn’t been there before), breakfast served in room but quality of food very low, everything quite dated

7,0 Good
Pros: Apprently we were satisfied with staying here. But we would not come back. Impressive bath system, braod main bed and tidy kitchen were there.
Cons: however second bed wasn’s good and breakfast was not good enough. A man delivered a heavy tray to 3rd floor. That was colourful but lukewarm, unfresh bread, no fruit with some mini tomatos. I have to give 7 star
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were really friendly. The apartment was very spacious, especially the bathroom and the breakfast, fresh, delicious & on time!
Cons: Location isn't very central but only a 10 min cab ride
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our host were very friendly and helpful. They provided us a lot of information about Antwerp and provided a map with pointing out some places to visit. We asked for the availability of the poll in the morning and it was provided the same day. The breakfast was huge and delicious and the variation of the different food was enough for the days we stayed. The room was clean and big and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back.
Cons: Nothing to mention.
7,0 Good
Cons: There is a disco studio downstairs and although we were told that we won't hear any noise being on the 2nd floor it was not possible to sleep until 2am in the morning.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location was very central, easy to walk everywhere. The room and the bathroom were spacious. The breakfast was very good. The ironing facilities in the room were an extra bonus. You can feel that the owners care about the guests and want them to enjoy the stay.
Cons: We arrived on the late afternoon of a hot day and as the room was on the last floor, directly under the roof it was VERY hot and stuffy in the room. I wish the aircon was on before our arrival as in other hotels as it took really a long time for the room to cool down. Small but important things spoiled otherwise very good impression: the tiny toilet needs a ventilator to be installed ( one can easily suffocate in it!), the shower is very good but there is no shelf for the shower gel, it would be nice to have a mirror in the room, not only in the bathroom).
6,3 Good
Pros: Situation, breakfast, staff
Cons: Very hot in the room without A/C
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, authentic Flemish architecture in a cool neighbourhood near museums, away from main touristy areas. Breakfast was to die for with its variety and freshness of products.
Cons: Should have had two bottles of bottled water for free as most 4 star hotels that we have visited in the past month have had.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The area was quiet but surrounded by the plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes. Helpful staff, nice facilities and a good buffet breakfast. Can definitely recommend.
Cons: Nothing, albeit that it is just a bit on the pricy side.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Although the building itself is quite old, the room is so clean and we were able to stay here nice and comfortable. I would come back to this hotel again.
Cons: The room was a little warm and we wanted to control the room temperature.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Nice old building, excellent location, convenient parking
Cons: ./.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of staff. Location was quiet and not far from the main city centre, lots of cafes, restaurants and shops.
Cons: Hotel Room disappointing, but spotlessly clean, dated furniture, tea and coffee making facilities would be useful. First Room was on 4th Floor, attic room, very dark, no opening windows, just a skylight in the bedroom, very hot, smell of sewers, air conditioning had not been turned on, very claustrophobic. We asked for a different room and the staff were very helpful, the 2nd room on the 3rd floor was adequate, furnishings need updating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Staff very helpful, parking garage attached. Excellent air conditioning, which was a nice relief!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: There was nothing to dislike about this excellent hotel. The staff were helpful and courteous. The breakfast was stunning.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: thank you for the hummus at breakfast, the soft boiled eggs. the quiet, for the pleasant help for the great location
Cons: The art on the walls, I took some of it down. nothing on the walls would have been better. Something authentic from the flea market or old posters would be better, in my opinion

6,3 Good
Pros: The location was good.

Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this hotel!
Cons: Not applicable
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Property is really nice, the rooms are trendy and got all the comfort you need. The restaurant downstairs is really nice too and the whole thing is beautifully located in Antwerp’s vibrant South area.
Cons: It’s not a dislike more like a little inconvenience is in the bathroom, if turn on the tab fully you get soaked, but that’s a real tiny thing and didn’t really do anything to the overall experience. Will definitely go back there in the future, it’s too nice!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were superb and nothing eas too much trouble. Location was good too
Cons: Nothing
9,3 Excellent
Pros: It's absolutely lovely to be able to sleep in a room with high ceilings.
Cons: An extra towel.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hotel. Located on a cozy square with local bars and restaurants. Great and spacious rooms with a big bed and huge tub. Would recommend!
Cons: We read that the food bar downstairs was really good as well. We went there to get breakfast but had to wait over an hour to get our food. That’s too long to wait for breakfast, but the food was awesome!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The position of the hotel and the general vibe is amazing. Effortlessly cool but understated. The room was stunning, so much light also. A relaxed and comfortable place to spend time. The restaurant and bar are well designed and the staff were great, the little shop was interesting and full of eclectic pieces.
Cons: Not much to say here, other than the big white LCD tv kind of ruined the beautifully deigned interior of the room. I don’t need a tv when I’m on holiday, but that’s just me!

It was not clean in the room when we checked in. Diapers were in the bucket in the bathroom. 3. We couldn’t use the safe due to there were no batteries. 4. A few times we saw how the workers who made a renovation in not a clean clothes come in to the elevator with cups with tea or coffee, speaking loudly while guests of the hotel should try not to become dirty.

Cons: if possible should include breakfast
4,8 Okay
Pros: The room is great value for money
Cons: When my room was cleaned they often left dirty towels and did not remove used shampoo bottles etc.
6,0 Good
Pros: nice rooms, beautiful architecture of the rooms
Cons: terrible breakfast on a sunday morning, hotel fully booked, poor service
6,0 Good
Pros: The coffiee possibility, the ensizing mirror at the toilet, good beds.
Cons: My room was probably next to something that sounded very high, possible a air-condition fan? Luckely I had my earplugs so I could sleep anyway, but if I shouldn't have them I should have asked for another room -and that I feel should be no problem with the service I recived in the check in. I would like to have some more information, eg. regarding how/where to use the wireless and in the elevator some more info about the different levels - eg. here is the bar, breakfast etc.
6,0 Good
Pros: Brand new facility, nice furnishment.
Cons: Too small and hard pillows. Too soft bed.

Cons: The parking is very expensive - 20 euros for a night, but it’s nice that it’s private. The pillows are overstuffed and uncomfortable. If you have mobility issues, there’s no chance - the stairs are very steep and there is no elevator.

9,5 Excellent
Pros: Easy to park our car in the underground garage and we could leave it there for the day after checking out. Nice breakfast and clean and comfortable bed. The metro station is right next to the hotel entrance.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was outstanding. As with most places, it's good to get to the restaurant a little early. It gets very crowded around closing time. The hotel is well situated across from the main train station. It's easy to get to. The train station is beautiful and I had a room facing it. There is a tram right in front of the hotel which takes you to the old section of town. It is a little bit of a walk so the tram makes it a little easier. You can get a day pass for the tram for about six euros. There is a Metro station right under the hotel which is also convenient. There is a ticket machine there where you can get your day pass.
Cons: One little problem was that the area is rather mixed. There are some nice cafes around the square but if you go too far from the square, the area can get a little seedy. It's not a place I would walk at night.
6,8 Good
Pros: Overall: Nice vibe. Clean room. Bath!
Cons: Breakfast was sub par. Not a great quality of food and very crowded.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: WOULD BE NICE IF 1-LUGGAGE WAS TRANSFERRED TO ROOMS INSTEAD OF ME CARRYING THEM 2-WATER IN THE ROOM
6,3 Good
Pros: Good bed. Good brekfast(not The Best but still good)
Cons: There is no smoking area, you have to go downstairs on The street, where is not The Best continent. For check out you have to wait in The same line with everyone, there is no extra line just for check out. So we were lucky that we left one hour earlier. In bathroom you can see that its old building because there was some places where was mold.

Pros: Everything else
Cons: Had to pay on the day after admin error.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Big rooms, friendly and helpful staff. I used to live in the area when I was young so the building is appox. 40 years old. Renovations have obviously taken place since, as the large room with large bathroom we stayed in was beautifully furnished and couldn't have been nicer.
Cons: Restaurant was closed on weekends.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice City Hotel with friendly staff. Short walk to City Center, straight at Rubenshaus and a weekend market and many bars and restaurants nearby. Central Station in walking distance. Overall good organized - Quick check-in and check-out - Breakfast buffet well attended and nice bar in the evening.

Pros: Staff, breakfast

Pros: The one unusual thing was the lack of airconditioning, instead there were same electric fans.but I cannot complain , it wasn't warm nor cold at all.
Cons: Ariconditioning

Pros: Love everything about the hotel
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very pretty
Cons: The hotel was half under construction
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All of the facilities in the room were very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. We also took advantage of the buffet on the Saturday evening which was excellent. Lots of choices and plenty of it.
4,8 Okay
Pros: Location was not too far from the city center. Better deal than other 4 star hotels (offered on line) with breakfast The beds were comfortable and firm enough.
Cons: I am very disappointed!. We were expecting a 4 star hotel but this is barley a 3 star hotel. 1) The smell or cigarette was all over our room and the staff were not very helpful !!! I went to the front desk and complained , the gentleman behind front desk was trying to help and maybe switch the room , but for some reason he is asking the lady (Emma) and she said there is nothing available and her solution was spraying the room to get rid of the smell of smoke!!!! Either they sprayed the room or not even didn't bother!!! since the smell existed until we checked out. We could not keep the door /window open at night since our room was facing the HWY and the noise was disturbing us. 2) We arrived at 9:25am for breakfast and the four trays of the warm food were gone!!! There was no staff in the restaurant and I told the front desk to send someone to the area. The fruits and other food items were also not fresh and not good quality. We were planning to stay a few more nights upon arrival but with our disappointment we decided to stay only one night. If Scandic wants to survive in Antwerp they must do something about this low quality service.
2,6 Mediocre
Pros: The location
Cons: staff are unprofessional, breakfast is bad specially the egg and sausage choice. Rooms are dirty. Electric plug was broken and we complained three times but nothing was done.
9,3 Excellent

7,5 Good
Pros: The new room We had a spacious new renovated room
Cons: The construction work. The room is not mouse cancellen
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in one of the renovated rooms. Wow soooo nice and cozy. Beautiful design and very comfortable bed. Coffee machine, beautiful shower and we loved the colors chosen.
Cons: Hotel is still being renovated..... but they work a quiet as they can.
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff
Cons: The food was not good as usual for dinner and because it was during the week, breakfast ends at 11:00. But the staff already start to clean and take the food around 10:15.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Swift check-in, check-out process, fast WiFi, good location (if travelling by car) with close connection to the highway - a bit out of Antwerp, clean and well-maintained given the rather old rooms, very nice bar/terrasse for having a drink or an after work meeting, bar prices are fair, excellent breakfast choice, spaceous ground floor/lobby, sufficient parking spaces (for free for hotel guests)
Cons: Old rooms and particularly the aircondition was not acceptable - ok to accept the old rooms (they inform that they are renovating and the rooms are clean and well maintained), but the aircondition was unacceptable - very noisy!! And given the heat wave in June in Europe, certainly not an option to switch it off
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Van der Valk is always super. Antwerp isn’t their nicest location (they are renovating), but Van der Valk has a super friendly pro staff, always, whereever you go. And that makes the difference. On top of that, some hotels may have older rooms, but their restaurant is always top class !
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, close to highways
Cons: Renovations ( much needed) going on; all for the better and only intrusive during the day

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7,5 Good
Pros: The hotel is a 3-minute-walk away from the train stations - which is just perfect. We had a big room which was relatively clean (okay, a bit of dust, but still clean) looking out onto the atrium. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as a few coffee shops are in the surrounding area and we did not use the swimming pool. A central bus station and the main shopping street is just around the corner, restaurants and Chinatown, the zoo and main attractions are in walking distance from Hyllit Hotel.
Cons: The reception area an the atmosphere is very impersonal. Lighting in the rooms could be much better.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff at the frontdesk.. we could check in early so we dont need to stocked our language in the stock room place.. room is spacious. Its worth the price. Surely we come back
Cons: Most of the hotel is room with breakfast. ..but hyllit is you can have breakfast only when u pay and its quit expensive for the price per person (20€) while u can have breakfast outside.. Starbucks is just around the corner.. and some bakerry.. etc.. but its a choice..
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything’s especially the staff and their assistance with our issue of missing luggage.
7,5 Good
Cons: Internet was too slow
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Good choice of food. Clean hotel.
Cons: Warm room and air con was noisy
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was fantastic and easy to get to. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. It was a short walk to the main station and was easy to walk too.
Cons: The time frame of the pool hours. Only open from mon- fri 06:00 - 10:00 am and 05:00 - 09:00 pm Sat 08:00 - 11:00 am and 03:00 - 08:00 pm and Sun 08:00 - 11:00 am and 03:00 - 08:00 pm. It would be nice if it was open for longer hours. eg. 06:00am to 10pm .
6,3 Good
Pros: Location good. Parking very convenient.
Cons: Room was average.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, nice room very confortable and quiet. I particularly enjoy their big swimming pool.
Cons: the breakfast could be better for such a hotel (no fresh orange juice, scrambled eggs not really tasty)
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, both for the station (we were travelling by train) and for getting to restaurants, bars and the tourist sites. Beds were comfortable, and the room a good size.
Cons: It was not possible to open any of the bedroom windows.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and definitely try and get a room with a unique view of the cathedral!
Cons: It can get noisy but that’s expected staying in the centre with bars and restaurants around you...
6,3 Good
Pros: Very nice street-level café with an excellent breakfast - though you had to pay about €17 extra for it ... My room was on the top floor and was quite large.
Cons: I am never a fan of the baththub-in-middle-of-the-room design. Difficult to get fresh air in the room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very nice room! The room is a bit small but as you can see from the pictures they use a "glass wall" to separate the bathroom from the rest so the room has a really great atmosphere to it. There is also a curtain you can use if you need the privacy.
Cons: Everything was good.

Pros: Location was excellent, close to Grote Markt and car parking. Would stay here again but make a point about wanting a proper double bed.
Cons: The bed was actually two singles together so an uncomfortable dip in the middle. Location was also a slight negative as you hear all the noise from people out all hours.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, big bathroom, hard to fault.
Cons: Room was hot at night but had big windows to open
6,8 Good
Pros: Bed comfortable. Unbearably hot in room with just a fan. Air conditioning would have been welcome.
Cons: Just air con and room decor was a bit dark but lovely staff and possibly bathroom floor needed a better clean.

Pros: Very helpful staff, complimentary coffee/tea and fruit; good wi-fi; terrific location.
Cons: Steep stairs to our room on level 2.
6,8 Good
Cons: Room was lovely, we had a jnr suite and it was massive. Bathroom was amazing with huge bath but toilet didn't have a door on it. So although it was hidden it wasnt very private. Room was nicely decorated and had a lovely old fashioned beam on view but needed a proper dusting, lots of cobwebs high up and in the corner near the toilet. Breakfast wasnt worth €12, no hot options, just cereal, bread, ham and cheese. Staff were friendly and location to shops, bars etc was perfect
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, great comfortable bed, staff were lovely made our stay very comfortable.
Cons: Can't complain about anything, one of the cheapest hotels we have stayed in on this visit to Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp and i would have to say its the best.

Cons: The shower

Pros: Quiet stay in the center of Antwerp. Loved the double shower. Big room. Friendly, helpfull staff
Cons: It's a pitty there is no elevator. Could have cleaned better.

Pros: Nothing!
Cons: 24/7 means open all times not the case here they shut the front door around 8:30pm and it’s a nightmare to check in after! Not all the rooms have air conditioning that’s a bit of a joke. No celling light in the bedroom leaves the rooms pretty dark. Breakfast a rip off. Best avoid
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and the style of the hotel.
Cons: Only 1 pillow, prefer 2 pillows. The floor in the shower room doesn’t have a ledge to keep the water in the shower area. Would be better to put a little ledge so the water doesn’t go all over the floor.
