Booked an EV for my 7 day rental, showed up to begin rental and was told they don't have any ev's for me. I pointed out there were over 10 ev's in the lot of only 25 cars total but was told none were available. They offered a 2 door mustang ICE for my family of 4. I informed that would not work, and was told I could pay another $40 day to "upgrade" to a mid size SUV. Sensing bait and switch I took the mustang which was dirty and had obvious mechanical issues if it had been inspected between rentals. This was not anything like a normal Hertz rental, more like a sketchy discount rental company. Staff were kind people and clearly working hard so have to give them credit for their struggle. Rental was a dishonest system that didn't provide my family with the needs we had booked. Won't rent again from here.Reviewed Feb 21 2024

Honestly one of the worst pickup experiences I’ve ever had. I got to my pickup location and the sales team told me the rental team went home! So I had to pay to go back to the airport where the line took an hour and then getting me in the car took another hour. The amount of time wasted was bad business. I then got the Tesla with under 50% charge so I had to charge it before I reached my destination 100 miles away. Absolutely appalled overallReviewed Nov 8 2023

Hertz pick up store was 32 miles away from PHX airport. Had to Uber to that location before it closed at 5:30 PM. When we arrived at the pick up location, the counter agent said that we had arranged for the pick up time hours earlier and they had rented our reserved car to someone else. In addition, they had no other cars to rent at that location. All they said was "sorry" and instructed us to explain that no other vehicles were available. Kayak should refund our money. We then had to again UBER back to PHX Car Rental Center to get another vehicle. Two UBER trips totaling over $100.00 just to move to the pickup sight and return to the PHX Car Rental Center. We expect to be issued a refund for our car rental price at the least. This was a nightmare.Reviewed Oct 5 2023

Terrible! The location of pick up changed so I had wasted 2 hours finding a ride to pick up car and spending $38 to get to that location. It was a horrible pick up at that location as they would not release my car as I did not have the original credit card I reserved it with. More time wasted. The rental was supposed to be at Phoenix Sky Harbor but instead was 8 miles away and they have no shuttle service. Cost over $60 w/ Uber on getting us to the rental and back to the airport. Major inconvenience!Reviewed Nov 15 2022
