Pros: Perfect location to walk around the city. The staff was friendly, and very helpful with recommendations.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Parking. Quiet. Staff was very helpful.
Cons: Small compared to photos online. Coffee was a great idea but did not care for it.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lots of nice amenities, and location was great. We went to the Seacoast Rep last night and it was right next door! A great breakfast place was just down the street.
Cons: Only complaint was that the room was too warm for sleeping under a warm comforter — but I was glad that the window could be opened....
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location - it was walking distance to everywhere, The room - with ipad, super clean, excellent wifi, Josiah at the front desk - who not only provided information for Portsmouth, but even gave me a list of places to see and do for a city i was visiting next, truly exceptional. And the free nitro cold/hot brew coffee and snacks at the lounge, impressive.
Cons: There was nothing that i didn't like
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent! Our host was super friendly ! Will definitely be back!
Cons: The only thing I would say is our tv was out dated
2,0 Mediocre
Cons: After having booked our trip in early September we arrived to check in on November 2nd to be told they had booked our room with some one else for the weekend. Even though they could see that we had booked the room and they received the confirmation number in September. They neglected to ever enter into their system and booked the room for another customer. We were offered nothing even though we had done everything right on our end and had traveled over 3 hours to spend our 10th anniversary at their establishment. We were simply told sorry and left to find a hotel room somewhere else last minute.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good climate controls, iPad in room preloaded with local restaurant info, very friendly staff.

Pros: Breakfast was good. Front desk staff very friendly, heedful.
Cons: Did not like that I attempted to book online but because I was booking two rooms for two different people staying different lengths of time I was forced to call customer service and charged a fee of $12.99 even though it was not disclosed on the call.
4,2 Okay
Cons: We were given a corner room which we were very happy with as it is usually a more quiet location building wise. Couldn't have been more wrong... Either an HVAC or some type of fan was located in the wall, behind a locked door, at the foot of our bed. It was EXTREMELY noisy. After several hours of trying to sleep, I called the front desk to request a room change. Yes, it was that noisy. No one answered at the desk after two attempts. I got dressed and went down to the lobby. No one could be found ! (It was 1am at that point). We ended up turning the heat down to its lowest setting and although we were freezing, it was somewhat more quiet. Not pleased at all.
6,0 Good
Pros: There was a good functional kitchenette and water pressure and temperature in the shower was very good. Good available breakfasts. Location was very good. Staff was friendly. WIFI connection worked well. TV placement mid-room on a swivel was good.
Cons: HVAC ducts and vents needed cleaning, they produced a musty smell and looked dirty. Ventilation overall did not seem to be effective. Bed was very hard. Room was quite worn and in need of refreshing. I I told management who said they'd take action.

Pros: The bed was comfortable and it had a large tv.
Cons: It is an older hotel appearing to look updated with nice furnishing of fair quality. Cons: Rooms are very tiny, was able to hear neighbors walking - talking. Not worth for the money spent.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I checked in for one night, but I was so impressed with my room and the location to downtown that I extended my stay an additional two nights. I am looking forward to coming back!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful place.
Cons: The breakfast. Could offer gluten free options. Like bread or a muffin.

Cons: rooms were outdated, bathroom VERY small
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast. Solid, comfortable hotel with nice staff in a convenient location. Definitely worthwhile.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location very much and the staff was extremely competent and helpful. The room was comfortable, bathroom was very nice and the common rooms were comfy and inviting. Lots of free parking!
Cons: I was pretty disappointed with the unvarying breakfast choices. The same thing every day which wouldn't be a bad thing if the choices were more interesting. i don't know who came up with the 3 featured items they offer but they are each of them quite weird and not very impressive. And, if you are staying multiple nights, they get very old very fast. It was a serious weak component in the hotel's presentation, in my opinion.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fabulous, walkable but quiet. The hotel itself is beautiful. The original building was a grand house, and the woodwork and architecture were reflective of that, quality and elegance.
Cons: Nope.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The queen bed was comfortable. Everything was in order. No surprises. We were greeted warmly and addressed with kindness throughout our stay by all employees we encountered.
Cons: We've stayed here plenty of times (please see my other reviews of Hotel Portsmouth). Room 310 was comfortable, though the bathroom door was odd -- a 3/4-length folding frame with slats -- and could upset someone who requires privacy, even within your room. It wasn't an issue for us.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Place is perfect!!! Great staff. Location is key. Easy walk to all of portsmouth. Yet a bit of rural feel to it. I will 110% stay again.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful restoration of historic building converted with fully modern conveniences. Comfortably furnished and located within walking distance of downtown Portsmouth. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Cons: The public bathrooms need better signage.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: It was adorable and within walking distance to everything downtown!!
Cons: The only thing I could complain about what the noise. Not the facilities fault. It was guests with loud music and a barking dog.

6,3 Good
Pros: The location is great in the heart of Downtown Portsmouth.
Cons: The bed and bedding were a little dated and not super comfortable. I had an allergic reaction to the towels, whatever chemicals they use to clean then. I requested a room with a tub and that was not fulfilled.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I loved how clean everything was. I enjoyed their hot tub. The location was absolutely perfect -- right downtown, with access to practically everything Portsmouth has to offer within walking distance.
Cons: The price to store our vehicle (valet price) was outrageously high. We did use the service, I just didn't realize (or wasn't informed) the price was going to be $28 for a 24 hour period! We drank two bottled waters stored in the room was $6 total for the two.

7,0 Good
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Room was clean. Breakfast was good
Cons: The pool was closed. No indication of such prior to arrival. Kids were extremely deflated. Managent took care of it for us fairly quickly though so that was nice.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The Espresso coffee!
Cons: They need to tell guests ahead of time that there is a $20 parking fee to park in the lot across the street and $25 for valet. We complained that this was not right to throw that on guests when they arrive. They did give us an upgrade.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location and staffs helpfulness I also liked the fact that it was a pet friendly hotel.
Cons: The cost of parking was a surprise but apparently the norm for that area.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Terrific Hotel. Great room.
Cons: Parking was either across the street for $20 or $25 for valet Parking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Close to historic area, upscale.
Cons: For the very low price, dealt with two queens vs King bed
7,0 Good
Pros: Wonderful people and very nice facilities. The area is beautiful.
Cons: The only negative thing I could say was that the website did not indicate that the pool wouldn’t be working. We booked this place in part for the pool because my nephew was traveling with us.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, nice restaurant.
Cons: The location was in an area where everything had pay parking including the hotel.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location grants easy access to the downtown area of Portsmouth. Several restaurants are less than 5 minute walk. The beds where super comfortable and the TV was huge.
Cons: The listing said heated pool (which is specifically why we chose this spot) and as we walked down to it in the basement (a dark and claustrophobic location) guests leaving warned us of the cold water. I went in with my 2 year old son. While it wasn't freezing (by norther New Englander beach standards) it WAS colder than the room temperature and took a LOT of movement in the water for us to acclimate. After about 15 minutes my son was shivering so we just left. The room we stayed in was also incredibly loud with CLEAR voices coming in from the room next store (i could make out individual voices and clear words) as well as from the hall way. Lastly, considering the size of the city i was surprised to pay $25 for self parking across the street.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: No coffee bar
4,5 Okay
Pros: Staff promised a 50% refund for room inadequacies .
Cons: No climate control panel in my room, which was cold. Fourth floor room required climbing full flight of stairs with baggage, INSIDE the room. Never saw that before. The room I purchased in advance was not ready for check-in when I arrived at 7pm; I was given a lesser room, plus a coupon for a free drink.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast. Needs meat (sausage, hash, ham), or potatoes
Cons: Shower water spread over the bathroom floor.

Cons: Our neighbors did get rather loud one night starting around 11pm while my children were sleeping. But the noise did calm down after contacting front desk.

Cons: Location near the duck tours, subway and walking distance to Quincy Market.plus free parking.o
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, close to downtown Portsmouth (less than one mile) but secluded location surrounded by trees. You can choose to use the shuttle into town or drive. Complimentary hot breakfast, nice pool, clean and spacious room. We will stay here again!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Just a very nice layout. The bed was comfortable, the people were pleasant and helpful. Also, the breakfast was very good too!
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. We got the queen with extra room-nice.
Cons: Notified the day we arrived that the next day @10 am they had to change light in bathroom-they were all working. hmmm? We left before they came.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: New, clean and tidy.
Cons: Room coffee was a disaster. Get rid of it. Food is just OK.
7,5 Good
Pros: King bedroom suite was very comfortable. And looked well kept.
Cons: Indoor pool wasn't heated and was small. Posted sign said 15 people max. No hot tub at the facility. Outdoor fire pits, two of them, were "out of order".
4,8 Okay
Cons: Bed was uncomfortable, pet rates were absolutely unreasonable. We will avoid staying at Hilton
6,0 Good
Pros: The hotel offered a free bus transit into the town center. It arrived on time and the drivers were courteous.
Cons: Our room was in the family pet wing. I suffered from allergies our entire stay. The room had a stale pet odor. Unfortunately, the entire hotel was booked and we couldn’t switch rooms. It would be helpful for the site to offer a choice of pet/dander free options. Now I know to request such a room. The hotel was understaffed. Upon our return at 4:00 the room had not been cleaned or bed made. We had to find an attendant and ask her to make up our room. The front desk told me that some rooms weren’t done until 6:00. That seems unreasonable for a Hilton hotel at the rates we paid. Breakfast although abundant was powdered eggs, mushy corned beef hash, and rubbery hard boiled eggs. Yuk!
4,6 Okay
Pros: The staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable.
Cons: We were so disappointed in this hotel. Our room was filthy. So expensive and not worth the money
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Full kitchen (oven, range, full fridge, dishwasher) - located near everything but in a quiet location - shuttle bus rides (mall, grocery store, C&J Trailways Bus Terminal) - allows large dogs - separate bedroom/living room - more spacious than expected
Cons: Would suggest checking dishes before use and bringing dish soap/sponge as any dishwasher will not scrape off burnt on food. Not many low sodium breakfast options except oatmeal or fruit. Scrambled eggs way too salty. Family enjoyed everything else.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Location close to downtown Portsmouth.
Cons: The bathroom had an unpleasant odor. The shower controls were broken, leading to very poor water pressure.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The king bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good
Cons: We specifically booked a suite with a pullout couch for our son. We were there for a wedding and got back to the room late and just wanted to go to sleep. We pulled out the bed from the couch and there was no bedding on it. And none to be found in the room. We also found beer bottle caps in the master bedroom near the nightstand. Definitely not what I would expect after spending $315 for the night!

Pros: A great choice if you want to stay close to Portsmouth. It was close to gas stations, restaurants, and some stores. The hotel was good, but a little nit old. The room was reasonably clean. The breakfast was nothing fancy.
Cons: If you don't have a car, it would be hard to visit Portsmouth downtown or Newcastle.
7,0 Good
Cons: Pool staff was rude and didnt let the kids swim .
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed 3 nights. I was skeptical when I first booked it. It does need upgrades but overall was very neat and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The location to everything was great. Free breakfast was good.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Room was not totally clean. Dusty, garbage behind stands, and hair on floor.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: A very reasonable price for a very acceptable accommodation- why shell out for a fancy place that you spend little time in? The staff here are EXCEPTIONAL- cheerful and upbeat, remembered us from the day before and small details we had shared- we would return based on this, in a day and age when few take even a passing interest in their individual guests.
Cons: Your muffins- please spring for better quality. These were as far as home-made in flavor as you can get- just a tad more chemical/ artificial tasting than acceptable. The rest of the food options were fine! Nice fruit, too.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Didn't have to travel far, large bed very comfortable, had fridge and microwave, very quiet slept good.
Cons: There is always a very strong perfumey smell in the rooms. Not sure if it's the room spray or cleaners but very strong and irritating.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and well kept. Great staff . Would definitely stay here again!
7,0 Good
Pros: Excellent breakfast Nice pool Clean room
Cons: Pillows are uncomfortable
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and I loved that we had a fridge! The pool was also very clean and warm. Breakfast was great -- excellent choices and wonderful staff. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly. We had an excellent stay. Thank you!
9,0 Excellent
Pros: the room looked updated and was very nice
Cons: The toilet was very low to the floor. It looked liked it might be a toilet for a little person. I found a black spot on the sheet, the front desk person brought us clean sheets. The toilet handle chain broke.Maintenance fixed that problem.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect! I really appreciated the friendliness of most of the staff. I didn't need much accommodations as I was only there to sleep for the work trip I'm on, but the overall hotel appeared great and the amenities looked good, although I did not use them.
Cons: My heat seemed to be a little off. I called the front desk to let the guy working know about it. He told me there were no issues with the room or the heat on the side of the hotel I was on, but he would come look. When he came he cranked the heat to over 80 and a little warm air started coming out, but it still felt cold. I honestly didn't like his approach, so I turned it back down and just dealt with it.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good location near everything
Cons: Room seemed damp
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. The decor was very nice, lots of lighting options, and looks like the pictures online. The refrigerator and microwave were important to us. Table and chairs to eat in the room, plus a desk with outlets for laptops. The free breakfast had good choices, and was provided in a room with plenty of comfortable seating. We missed getting free warm cookies one day, and when I mentioned it to the staff they offered to leave some in our room. The chocolate chip cookies were good. Good casual restaurant directly across the street where we ate twice during our 3-day stay.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that our window looked out at a fence and buildings next door. We were on the first floor, but I don't think the second floor view would be much better since there are buildings close on each side. The central location to shopping and restaurants was our priority, not the view, so we just kept the sheer curtains closed and had plenty of daylight. Lots of places to visit nearby to enjoy the landscape.
7,5 Good
Pros: The staff was very helpful. It was nice to have water and coffee in steady supply. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The bathroom was small and could have been cleaner. Carpet needs updating and breakfast was underwhelming.
6,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was convenient and reasonable selection of breakfast foods. WiFi was easy and TV was new and in good working order. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Needs a general upgrade. New bathroom tub/shower but very small and cramped space. The smell of disinfectant was overwhelming. The door to our room had a huge gap when closed-pretty funny but not really. Carpets and handrails were sticky.
