10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay here has absolutely exceeded our expectations. The staff here went above and beyond. First off, the location is perfect, especially if you are coming or going with a Supratours bus. The breakfast was great and they offered us a tea when we got there and when we were leaving. They had no problem holding our bags for us and even printing out our boarding passes. Currently, we are writing this review from a "resort" in Marrakech, & just wishing we spent another night there instead. Wifi worked great in all parts of the riad, security cameras are outside of the riad in the alleyway and they'll even meet you at the door at night. It is completely safe walking to and from the riad at night. The bed was comfortable as well. We had trouble contacting our next accommodation due to unanswered emails and they even called them for us. This riad is a 10+.
7,0 Good
Pros: Helpful staff and free laundry) also nice breakfast. Good value for its price.
Cons: Location near gulls nests - they are Very noisy all day and all night. And very low height ceilings and doors. Its okay if you are kid, but I always had to walk bended in the room and bathroom to avoid crushing head.

Cons: No problems at all.

Pros: This hotel was absolutely amazing, the facilities very clean and the massage at the spa was phenomenal. We felt very relaxed and were looked after excellently. On the last day we were getting a transfer at 6pm and were allowed complimentary late checkout. Thank you for a fantastic stay
Cons: It took about 15mins each way to and from the centre of town, which was an extra cost, but not a big problem
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The location is very beautiful with palms, trees, bougainvillea and flowers. There are two heated swimming pools, one adult only. The staff is very friendly. The food in the hotel is delicious and fresh. It is so good that you always want to stay there. Our room was upgraded by the hotel which was a positive surprise. The view from our beautiful room was amazing and you could enjoy the hills with argan trees and a unique sunset.
Cons: All was excellent. My only suggestion is to add a fridge in the room.
7,5 Good
Pros: The pool area was in a lovely garden setting with beautiful flowers and plants. The sounds of the bull frogs st night and the clarity of the night skies were fabulous.
Cons: The property could do with a refurb in places. Our bathroom while clean enough was tired. The room was quite small so as the door opened the bed was right there! Also, there was no chair in the room, although we did have a small balcony with chairs and table.

Pros: The room and courtyard were beautiful, especially the shower/bathtub. The staff were also friendly, welcoming, and helpful.
Cons: The location was a bit out of the way on a dark street. But in such a small town, it was not a major issue.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was beautiful especially the bathroom with the sunken bath.
Cons: Nothing
7,0 Good
Pros: Great staff.
Cons: Was there during ramadan so restaurant facilities weren't fully functioning. Very limited menu. Wanted to order a light dinner in the room and wasn't able to. I was told I had to go to the restaurant to order anything other than a snack, however, when I got to the restaurant, there was pretty much nothing on the menu that I could order so settled for a snack that I could have had in my room. I daresay that outside of ramadan the hotel restaurant has more to offer.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful riad, very friendly staff
Cons: A bit pricey for a riad...

Pros: We LOVED the riad and our experience there. The room was incredibly beautiful, charming, and unique; and overall the riad was a great place to hang around. Special mention goes to one staff member — Gregi (likely we’re misspelling his name). He gave us a passionate introduction to the city that allowed us to discover every corner of it, and he had a contagious joie de vivre. He accommodated all of our requests, and set up an amazing dinner for us in the last second (best food we had in morocco). In short, great hotel and even better staff!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Best ever - thank U so much

Pros: What a beautiful place to stay when discovering Essaouira- nicely decorated and comfortable Riad. Breakfast at the rooftop is astonishing- Both the view and the food !! Right in the Médina - quiet oasis. Very nice people & owners assisting us with everything- thank you so much. From the Riad it is easy access to the beaches - walk or petit taxi...surfing, kitesurfing and many other beach activities. Nice cafe’s and restaurants at the beach. And around the harbor great marine food- fresh and delicious. Very nice medina. Thank you for the great time in Essouira!
Cons: Could have stayed much longer

Pros: Great, central location with an enthusiastic team eager to ensure you have a comfortable stay

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was perfect!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The location is right in the middle of Medina. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Rooftop terrace is also a plus.
Cons: Flies
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast on the roof each morning was really nice. Location is brill - in the middle of the Medina.
Cons: There's loads of noise coming from the side street in the night. Sometimes it was ridiculous - groups of youths walking round and shouting at like 3am, which was strange because the hotel is down a dead-end alley :/. We know this is part of being in a Medina, but just be aware that lack of aircon means you'll need the window open, and nobody goes out to ask the people shouting to be quiet.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, very accommodating, we needed to stick around after check out time and they were more than willing to let us hang out in the lobby or on the rooftop. They allowed us to have a late breakfast, which was appropriated. The room was beautifully decorated and beds were comfortable. Located right in the medina, everything was in close walking distance. The rooftop was very relaxing.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit musty and had mold in the shower. I know it's common in the area, but it made the bathroom feel grimmy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, great location!
Cons: The alleyway, should have kept it cleaner, but I think that's a general problem in the city.
Dar Latigeo - Essaouira - Bedroom

Cons: You have to go some stairs down if you want go to toilet.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The price that I booked is really good deal and the room I stay is really good room and the boy I meet in the hotel is really provided good service! I love the location and very easy to find !
Cons: Toilet have not shampoo and shower Gel
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite easy to find, the staff is friendly and the rooms are really clean and nicely decorated. It has a shared bathroom on each floor but we didn't mind as it was well located and didn't bother any other tourists. The brakfast was really tasty and nicely served. We were very satisfied with this place. Greetings!
6,8 Good
Pros: Clean, nice rooms
Cons: Was not greeted on arrival by mateo who was fully aware that we had just arrived, however he felt that a white Person behind us in the queue was more important than us. We did however not take it to heart but in the morning we requested a coffee and was told that they would bring it to our room. This simply did not happen and they acted like we were invisible. Overall we were made to feel totally unwelcome. We were again ignored by mateo when checking out. The Moroccan guy working there was polite. Mateo is the owner and host but felt that other people were more first class citizens and we were just second class. It’s a shame because when people are travelling they go to enjoy themselves and not be surrounded by such negative energy. Will not stay here again!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Really clean and beautifully decorated rooms with nutritious and tasty breakfast for a decent price. Located in the centre of essaouira, just 5 minutes from bus station.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice building, comfortable rooms, excellent location. Good value for money :)
8,5 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean and serviced double bedroom. Good size. Clean towels provided. Bedroom had large window for ventilation making it airy and nice to hear the seagulls. Handy little wardrobe and space for bags and things.
Cons: Good location, but the alley ouside the hotel does smell really bad and lots of rubbish. Luckily we stayed in a double bedroom on the 3rd floor. The hotel should remove the door in the hallway to make the shared bathroom feel more accessible to both rooms. Should put shower head up on bracket as it is currently hand held. On the plus side the bathroom was clean and only shared with one other bedroom.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful french bed and romantic room, ideal for couples. We were really satisfied with everything.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Only there for the night. The city was amazing(dont understand why game of thrones isnt mentioned anywhere) the host was friendly, beds were comfortable. Breakfast incredible. It says somewhere there isnt a sign due to getting permission. There is now. Look out for Bob's music that's your turning. Thanks.
Cons: Little tricky to find if you a dumba$$ like me
6,7 Good
Pros: A little gem. Excellent location, right in the heart of the medina but on a quiet cul-de-sac. Perfect base for exploring beautiful Essaouira. Rooms are large and comfortable with lovely oriental touches. The landlady is lovely and helpful. No hesitation booking it again when I go back.
Cons: No problems. It is not a luxurious hotel with all the services, but one comes to Essaouira for the city not for all-in-package sea side resort. My bathroom was outside the room.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: we had an amazing stay in dar latigeo. adeline was extremely friendly and was very helpfull with any questions we had. the rooms are nice and the (shared) bathroom is very clean. beisdes that, essaouira is a lovely city and dar latigeo is right in the middle of it.
7,0 Good
Pros: The french lady whom i can´t remember the name is such a good hostess!! Really cool ambient , even that by the door you can´t have the real idea of the neat ambient you are gonna find inside. Usual in marroquian lodgements.Really worthless!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful bedroom.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, friendly welcome to a fine, small, boutique hotel by new owner Adeline - nothing was too much trouble. Hotel very central, so better than two other hotels I have stayed in in Essaouira before and extremely good value indeed. Copious, varied breakfast - open to suggestions/ requests. Own keys so free to come and go. Could not fault the hotel or any aspect of its running at all and I shall certainly come agazin whenever I come here again, and, as it is a favopurite spot, that may be in a couple of months. Highly recommended. Thanks to Booking.com for finding it for me.
Cons: Everything was absolutely fine. No possible reason to dislike anything, let alone complain.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: very nice, fresh, clean.. feels like home.. very friendly and helpful staff.. excellent location..
Cons:
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The owners couldn't have been more helpful and kind. The room was gorgeous, quiet, airy, the breakfast delicious and we really were made to feel welcome. They made our stay special.
Cons: They could have given us a key for the outside door so that they didn't have to open it for us each time we returned to the hotel.

Cons: Nothing :)
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed orange juice and omelette very much. The staff was very friendly for us. When I lost way to riad, on of them helped to return. The riad itself is authentic.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Definitely the best place we booked on our trip in Morocco. We got the room we reserved and it was perfect. Monumental roof top view, excellent position and really friendly and helpfull staff. And clean room and good wifi too. We prolonged our stay for one night.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Central location, nice fresh continental breakfast, pleasant staff, cleanliness, typical Moroccan setting, great value for money
Cons: Light in room could of been a little brighter. No fault of Riad but kids played football in streets until gone 10pm - noisy
10,0 Excellent
Pros: All in all, this place has been our best in Morocco in these two weeks. We were on the.top.room, with loads of light, next to a.really nice.common room where we had breakfast. The rooftop terrace is amazing, with the best views of all Eassaouira. It is perfectly located. The value for money is superb. Staff are so nice and.fri3ndly. Cannot recommend more!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The Riad is excellent located and the room was oriental, redish with good wifi, good water pressure but the brilliance of the Riad is its terrace with a view of the ocean and flying and roaring sea gulfs. It was clean and quiet. Breakfast was good portion and fresh each morning with coffee and orange juice but each day the same. Considering the available dairy products and variety of fruits in Morocco I would have liked having more variety of breakfast.
Cons: I wanted to have tea and breakfast on the terrace which I each time I asked I had an awkward feeling that the staff was not happy with that even though I was ready to take breakfast myself upstairs and to pay for additional tea.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great! Lovely, calm and perfect located to explore the city. Great breakfast and very nice personal! Also a great roof terrace with a stunning view.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The riad is very beautiful and perfectly located !
Cons: Our room was on the street and we couldn't sleep until 4 am because of the loudness of the neighbours
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff in a quiet part of town. Very close to a nice small square with great food.
Cons: Quite a loud Riad with being woken up a few times in the night.

Pros: Location- close to the beach , pool, view from the roof, view from the restaurant.
Cons: We extended our stay, but had to change rooms, unfortunately Television didn’t work in the second room. The restaurant at the top was very good, but a bit expensive
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice Ryad with beautiful pool and nice rooms.
Cons: The WiFi was a little spotty but still manageable.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: This place was service plus. Staff excellent, food was the best in 2 weeks so delicious. I would recommend you eat at restaurants even if not staying at hotel, it was really good food and service. Yum yum yum.
Cons: Couldn't fault it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building, great pool, helpful staff and excellent room.
Cons: It's about a 20 minute walk from the medina, this might bug some people.
7,0 Good
Pros: It is kond of a big french hotel. Not very friendly and a bit poch. It misses the typical marrocan warmth and friendlyness. But good swimming pool and clean. Just if you look for a friendly cost and family like plase ot os not it. Also not that calm.
Cons: Not so calm Not so friendly and warm. Bit commercial and poch.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: It was our first experience in a Riad and it was worthy. Nice, clean and a quite big room with ensuite bathroom, which has got a huge shower. Even if the hotel were almost full there was no rush or noise. Breakfast was good in a French style. I would like to highlight their pool which is a decent size and super clean, around the pool there is a lot of loungers. Definitely, recommend.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Originally we had booked a standard and a premium room. We were a little disappointed with the premium room as it seemed the same as the standard room, but with an extra bed. We upgraded to a mini suite which was much much better. Two separate showers, and two distinct areas, sleeping and lounge. I would recommend you do the same for the little extra. The Riad itself is charming and beautiful. We previously stayed at Villa Quieta around the corner, which is probably a little more grand, but Riad Zahra is much better value for what you get and I personally loved the feel of it. The pool is fabulous. Very large, and plently of room around it, and with a veranda overlooking it. There is also an undercover area with chairs/sofas if you don't want to be in the sun. There is parking in the shade outside. Best of all are the owners and the staff. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly and even helped us out with all the paperwork when we had a little motoring "issue". Out breakfast waiter was also very helpful and genial.
Cons: As said, we didn't think the premium rooms were that premium, but for a little extra, the suites are well worth it. No cereals provided for breakfast, and could have done with some ham or cheese, but other than that, there was plenty of choice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing! Xavier and his wife make us feel like dear guests at their home. Also the restaurants were the best we had in Marocco!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, good breakfast, a large selection of dishes, qualified service, very nice owners.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place! Run by a lovely family who are ever present ensuring guests are catered for. Spacious and clean with a great pool/poolside facilities. Great food/selection 'downstairs' bar and pool area with roof restaurant also. Easy walk or just a short taxi (10 MAD) ride to Medina and just minutes from ocean, beach and whatever you want to do. http://www.riadzahra.com/
Cons: Having to leave ;)

Pros: Absolutely wonderful place. The room, the Riad itself, the staff and the food. 10 out of 10 all over. We did not use the hammam or massage, we save that for our next stay with Casa Lila & spa. We will be back for sure!
Cons: There was nothing we did not like.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality, room size, decor, heating, location, food
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The spa treatment was an absolutely great experience!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were charm personified and such a pleasure to be around with their warm welcomes and their ready smiles. The hotel itself was very comfortable and if there was anything we needed, we had only to ask and it was provided. The location was also perfect for our purposes as we wanted to take our time strolling around the Medina without having to think about transport and other logistics. Being right in the heart of the Medina, all we wanted was right on our doorstep .. literally! A great bonus was the atmosphere created by being in the town with just the hum of people going about their lives down on the street ..and the crowing of cockerels in the distance: very peaceful and SO much nicer than the sound of cars or other engines! We also loved listening to the calls to prayer as they drifted across the house tops.
Cons: Nothing!
4,5 Okay
Pros: It was in the Medina
Cons: They charged us twice... they said: you have to pay your stay cash not via booking and we did. Now after the vacation booking.com charged us again and suddenly they didn’t remember. Disgusting. And: they gave us wrong bill what we realised at home... So 1000 Diham for nothing. NEVER EVER AGAİN
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Our trip here was wonderful. It felt so personal and friendly, as it's a boutique hotel you really felt cared for. The room was huge and beautiful (we had a suite) just could of done with a few paint touch ups here and there. We had two treatments and each was fabulous, I would recommend the full body (and I mean full body, face, hands and feet included) casa Lila massage which was so relaxing!!! Breakfast was served on the terrace and was delightful and that sums up our experience really. We also had dinner one night and the chicken tagine was amazing! Best food in Essaouira by far. The meal was only €15 each for three courses and was delicious with good service. I couldn't recommend a stay here enough, you won't regret it!
Cons: We were woken in the morning by the breakfast prep if we hadnt fully closed all windows and the decor just needs a bit of work, but really they were tiny minor things.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The whole atmosphere.
7,5 Good
Pros: Clean, nice rooms, friendly staff.
Cons: Lobby smelled like sewage.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this Riad! Ancient building restored lovingly with antiques and hand painters accents. Beautiful soothing rooms in the heart of the Médina. Excellent recommendations for restaurants, shops and sights!
Cons: No one could possibly complain about this place!
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Essouira medina is quite small, the riad is in the middle, in a very good location. The staff was friendly and spoke in English as well. Provide help to print boarding pass for upcoming flight. It was clean, and there was cleaning every day. The breakfast was fine, 3 jams, some butter, pancake, pita bread, a few scrambled eggs (made on the spot), yogurt or fruits, coffee and tea.
Cons: The room rates are okay, worth the money, but the dinner and the spa seemed a little expensive.

Pros: Hosts were absolutely terrific and helpful. Location was great, staff was terrific, room was nice. Room was dusty and had not been fully cleaned. If you have allergies, I'd consider going elsewhere.
Cons: Room was dusty and had not been fully cleaned. If you have allergies, I'd consider going elsewhere.

Pros: The staff were amazing, the dining experience was awesome, the little nooks and cranies were gorgeous.
Cons: We booked a superior seaview room, had to put our head outside the window to see a glimpse of the ocean. The shower dribbled, just dribbled with hot and cold water intermittently. No pressure. The hammam was a waste of money and time. Paid for a couple oriental hammam, one girl did the two of us. One waited while the other was left wet and getting cold. She then left us not knowing when they were coming back, it was 10 minutes. Our daughter had the same treatment after us and said it hadnt been cleaned and with no heat and had been left waiting for 10 minutes also, wet and cold. The massage was conducted with noisy shoes during the therapy and felt like cats paws on my back, no pressure. No fridges or coffee making facilities.

Pros: The location, within the medina, was superb. Very short walk to the beach. Hotel felt like an old-fashioned hotel in terms of its warmth and a family run atmosphere. We came across 3 female staff members who had worked there between 22- 29 years and all seemed happy employees. Their bouyant energy rubbed off nicely. The interior of the hotel was lovely with lots of fascinating nooks and crannies. The evening meal had a wonderful ambience: Unique private rooms with romantic decor, candle light, and excellent world music playing. You're waited upon by a special host who was charming. The two rooms we experienced both enjoyed lots of natural light and I think they get the interior decor right. Breakfast was very pleasant in the morning sunlight. Every part of the breakfast was well prepared and with good quality ingredients. One of the managers, Mehdi, deserves special mention. He was a warm and courteous man who made the effort to connect with all of his guests. We had two special requests which he had postively responded to. His efforts to accommodate us were genuinely appreciated.
Cons: Although the rooms were excellent, it was a bit odd that (i) the room contains no phone and (ii) there was no basic information in a folder that guides one as to how the place works (ie. logistics).

Pros: Breakfast on the roof was amazing. The entire ambiance of the hotel was wonderful. I loved it and think of it fondly.

Pros: The staff at Villa Maroc were friendly, kind, respectful and helpful. The place is minimal, unassuming, comfortable, charming elegance at its finest. Be sure to have dinner at the hotel also! It was wonderful!

Pros: Excellent service, fantastic location. This is an iconic establishment that has a landmark for the past 20 years. We returned 14 years later and the experience was as good as it was in 2005!

Pros: The breakfast was authentic and delicious .... and Fatima an absolute pleasure !!
Cons: Cant think of anything i did not like
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, superb food and overall very charming. Each room is unique and there is a lot of attention to detail. Excellent location as well. Fatima has been there for 25 years, she’s outstanding and did a great job of making us feel at home
Cons: Black out curtains on the terrace level would be appreciated. Also if there is a way to better insulate the rooms from the loud morning prayers at 6am, that would great!

Pros: Loved everything about my stay
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Thirty-something here. Very "upscale moroccan cottage chic". Very spacious, bright room. Good location in the medina, AND to the beach. Upstairs terrace was nice for an evening drink, or morning coffee.
Cons: Breakfast is typical of all breakfast we had in morocco- lovely. It was not any more special than any other breakfasts elsewhere. Servers were courteous. Limited English for the staff.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully located just inside the medina though a little tricky to find initially after negotiating the parking hucksters. Rooms laid out well and the restoration is sympathetic without being too fussy. Drinks at the bar are refreshingly moderately priced compared to other places pitched at a comparable level though food seemed pricey (we went out in search of grilled seafood). Staff are generally pleasant and helpful though not empowered with too much initiative.
Cons: Breakfast was nice but seemed limited. We eventually discovered why. For some reason, we were not offered the eggs and cheese, olives and tomato plate that other tables received, which were the main event. Staff were not around to ask and by the time we realised, we had filled up on bread and were ready to go. Not a big deal but annoying at the price especially as the front desk just shrugged it off when reported later. The bathroom was small but nicely designed except for a protruding shelf with a sharp corner which was a real hazard - it could easily be repositioned or modified and this was sympathetically noted by the front desk.

Pros: Hospitality! Restaurant downstairs was great. Our room had a private balcony - not all do - get that one!
Cons: Parking info could have be better explained since it's in the medina so parking is tricky.

Pros: The breakfasts were excellent. The bed linens were excellent. There are many lovely qualities about this Riad
Cons: Taking into account the location of the Riad and the location of your room, it can be quite noisy at night. The restaurant is right below. Unfortunately, I had a substantial amount of cash stolen from a staff member while I was on the rooftop enjoying my breakfast. I did lock my room. It really took me by surprise. The Riad I stayed in in Marrakesh didn't even have locks on the doors because you were part of family and all things were protected and safe! So...if you decide to stay here, keep your valuables and money very secured!

Pros: The staff are so nice. They are musicians and friendly every evening they play African nicer music. It is pretty cool! The vibes from the guys who work there are the best! Of the hostel!!
Cons: The beds have old sheets and mostly all of them are broken. So it seemed a bit wet and uncomfortable to sleep over the old mattress.

Pros: The staffs are fantastic, they will welcome you, too. The Rooftop space is also fantastic, and the atmosphere of this hostel is unique. You can be free and be satisfied with this hostel.
Cons: Nothing to be unsatisfied with. Until about 11pm, there was a music. I enjoyed but I recommend you take earplugs.

Pros: The best stay I had when visiting Morocco was at the Atlantic Hostel. It's not just a business, it feels like a family. Everybody is super helpful and inviting, the restaurant is amazing (thank you Couscous!) and you're in the middle of the medina. Chilling out on the rooftop terrace in the afternoon sun is a must. Thanks again to all the nice people I've met there!

Cons: our room smelt damp
7,5 Good
Pros: Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Pool area amazing, good lunch too. Live music each night was a great treat.
Cons: In the land of a million lovely carpets, not one in our room, which made it feel a bit cold. Also, wifi was slow and would disconnected frequently. TV only had a handful of channels ( no cable or satellite.) No fridge in room. Also, they charged for mint tea (4$).... Out of the 10 hotels we stayed in Morroco, no one charged for mint tea...

Pros: Beautiful Relais chateaux, the staff were superb, the room was perfect. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was excellent, with apero in the bar beforehand. Lovely breakfast.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The staff, we had left our passports in the room safe and they were able to contact us shortly after our departure to inform us. They quickly organized delivery of our passports at our next location.
Cons: We thought the hotel was in need of updating its style, needs a bit more modern style.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fab location just on the edge of the medina. Superb service, the staff couldn’t do enough to help. Food was beautiful, all tastes catered for. Great recommendations for restaurants etc
Cons: Very windy, take warm clothes for evening
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is one of those rare hotels with a soul, a place where you instantly feel good and at home. There is a definite relaxing, colonial feel to the hotel and a great attention for detail: We loved the decoration, the patio, the club style bar, the rooms, the rooftop terrace, it was all truely outstanding and only surpassed by the friendliness of the staff, from the reception to housekeeping, the restaurant, the pool and even the manager who takes the time to talk to all the guests. Last special mention for the breakfast buffet that was lovely. We had planned to only stay for one night but could not leave and stayed another. The location was great, right inside the medina. Thank you for a great stay...
Cons: You need a lot of imagination to find things not to like. Maybe that it's a bit difficult to find but well worth looking for.

Pros: Host was very good, informative and pleasant. Meals were of good quality. Rooms were clean
Cons: We would have preferred to eat Marocan food more often. We had this only once in 6 evenings. The approach road to the Villa is a dirt road of about two miles; It is atrociously bumpy, dusty, and full of stones- NOT the fault of Hotel, but not mentioned by them anywhere. Although it is indicated on the Booking.com website, that crédit cards were accepted, the hotel wanted cash payment in Euros!! Luckily I had euros in cash.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most beautiful stay at Villa Daba in April. The owner, Mr. Didier was incredibly helpful, very attentive, and welcoming. He answered all of my questions and more, always willing to help solve any issue and make you feel at home. The house was absolutely gorgeous, isolated, a real paradise. The pool is heated year long and very enjoyable, there is also a ping pong table. This would be great for couples or for families. There is a cute dog and friendly donkeys to pet. There is a Hamman in the backyard, free to use and you can buy a massage/mani-pedi. The food was to die for, all home-cooked by Mrs. Didier and also very affordable. Alcohol was available, which is not very common in Morocco. The room was very comfortable and quiet at night time even with other guests in the house. I stayed here with my husband and we did not have a car so we walked the 2km to the main road to grab a taxi for 10 dirhams and headed into town (10 mins car ride). It is a nice and peaceful walk but would not be easy to do with large bags, etc. You can also call a taxi to pick you up at the house itself but this costs more 100 dirhams. The owner is happy to drive you for free if he is headed into town at the same time as you which is very nice too. We wish we could've stayed longer!
9,5 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful peaceful stay at the Villa Daba. The owners are lovely, and really helpful. They suggested places for us to go, and on one day even recommended and booked a lovely restaurant for lunch for us. And the villa quiet with a beautifully clean and warm swimming pool. We visited in October and we had the pool to ourselves. Every morning we had a continental breakfast round the swimming pool as the sun rose. Every bedroom is unique, and different, and ours was full of character and comfortable. On some evenings we had dinner at the villa, and the cooking was superb. We were asked what we would like in advance for a main, and the fish was fantastic. But so was the chicken tagine.
Cons: The only disadvantage of the villa is that it is a mile or two down a dirt road, and you need a car to get there. But we soon got used to this, and we look forward to returning!
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely. Beautiful pool and we had a 2 bedded room
Cons: Be aware that the hotel only takes cash
9,3 Excellent
Pros: We have been accomodated very well by hosts Didier and Momo, and have exchanged many interesting stories despite our French being a bit rusty. Dinner and breakfast were really excellent, and pool, rooms and general spaces were of high quality. Computer was available for arranging payments via internet banking, and for printing of boarding passes. Everything we hoped for during a nice 3-night stay at the end of our Moroccan road trip!
Cons: The immediate surroundings are quiet but not very exciting environmentally, and are slowly getting built up. However, various interesting areas are in a short distance by car. Regarding the delicious evening meals, we would also have liked to enjoy Didier's cooking skills at the evening of our arrival. Unfortunately, we had not realized that it was necessary to arrange this beforehand, to enable his preparations....

Pros: Great view from the rooftop, sweet and kind staff. Nice rooms

Pros: Everything was perfect at Dar Assalama! Easy to find and really close to the main souks of Essaouira, the port and beach. Staff was very helpful and provided us with everything necessary. Rooms are very spacious, also the roof-terrace is amazing. Really nice. Breakfast was large, almost too much, and is served on the terrace. Payment also was easy, we stored our luggage in the dar since we left Essaouira only in the evening, which was no problem. Would totally recommend this gorgeous place! <3
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Near the Medina, great staff and comfortable setting.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel (riad) with good location and very friendly and helpful staff. Our room had enough space (2 adults, 1 small child) and was lovely decorated. There were no issues with electricity or hot water (as it often happens in Morocco). Breakfast is served at the roof-top terrace, which is a great experience (but consider to take a blanket with you ;-) Recommendation to the hotel: offer some fresh fruits for breakfast as well.
Cons: Poor sound insulation - can be annoying if your neighbours are loud (which was not the case during our stay :-) ). The bed (in particular the pillow) was very uncomfortable for me. I suggest to offer an alternative pillow in the room. Once, late night, there was a cockroach in the bathroom. What we really did not like was the parking situation: the parking lot is pretty close to the hotel, but the parking attendants are gangsters. They will try to rip you off, and you really have to fight not to pay more than the official price. At the hotel, they told us we should ask them for a discount because we parked our car for 3 days, but at the end we were happy not to pay more than the announced fee.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Good location - near to the coach stop and inside the old walls. Nice rooftop to laze about on. Good breakfasts.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very close walk into the medina from the large car park (Bab Marrakech), while still being very close to the heart of the medina. The Essaouira medina is a manageable size, so nothing is too far. Dar Assalama is an oasis of calm and hospitality as you step out of the slightly run-down streets of the medina into a beautifully curated accommodation. Hamza and the rest of the hosts were helpful and easy to engage in conversation. Breakfasts were lovely on their roof-top.
Cons: I had done some research so found the accommodation easily, but there isn't much signage until you get to the location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Feels like home, warm staff always available, responsive, professional and friendly. The rooms are designed in traditional moroccan fashion and the riad experience with Dar Assalama is perfect.

Pros: Very nice and friendly staff. Good location. Nice roof terrace where you could catch the sun and view the ocean. Inisde the old part but within close walking distance from the ocean.

Pros: First of all the staff was fantastic-they did their upmost best to accomondate our every need(welcomed us with some mint tea, explaind where everything was and told us to feel like at home)-very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The location was a spot on as everything was easily accesible by foot.
Cons: The breakfast could improve a bit but great other than that.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff and lovely clean, big rooms. Highly recommend.
7,2 Good
Pros: The staff at Dar Assalama are amazing! Omar and the other 3 staff couldn't be friendlier, warmer or more accommodating. They really made our stay something special and nothing was too much trouble. They were always offering to make us mint tea, how we were that day, what we had done or if there was anything they could do to help us. The room was spacious, simple and nicely decorated. The lounge and central patio are very attractively decorated and comfortable to sit, relax and just enjoy a cup of tea. A French style breakfast (with Moroccan influence) on the roof terrace was a lovely way to start each day. The Riad is very well located as well. I highly recommend this Riad and doubt you could get better value for money in Essaouira

7,4 Good
Pros: The owners were very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was great, the room was very nice!
Cons: The bed was a bit uncomfortable (pilows not soft enough)
8,0 Excellent
Pros: A taxi transfer was arranged for me and I was met at the entrance to the medina at a very early hour which was very kind. Lovely breakfast and decor. Medina map and information also provided.
Cons:
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Principally, the staff- comprising the manager and his assistant- were excellent throughout. They were attentive, went well out of there way to help in any matter. e.g., they kept in contact with us prior to our arrival and met us from the bus we arrived on; when I got a stomach bug on the day we left they were happy top let us stay late in the room and even provided special food for a sore belly. They could not have done more.
Cons: Very new, nicely designed interior, and extremely clean. Excellent terrace. The kitchen is open use so you can shop and cook yourself, which is an excellent touch- especially for those with kids or on a budget. I would recommend that the hotel gets one or two desktop computers for guest use- saves the effort of sitting in a generally unpleasant room in an internet cafe up the street.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Staff wonderfully helpful Location great Lovely rustic decor
Cons: Cleanliness could be better Too much bread at breakfast
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were gorgeous and opulent. Very tastefully decorated with a mix of modern and traditional Moroccan decor. The breakfast was very generous and kept you going for the morning. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful giving great information of the city, and great spots to check out.
Cons: Our room had black mold on the walls and a very musty smell. It was hard to get fresh air circulating in the room as it wasn’t open to any external windows. We had to leave the door and window open throughout the night to attempt to keep some ventilation. Some people may not find that secure since the doors and windows only opened into common areas.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Sun lounger
Cons: The hotel is very basic and felt ‘soul-less’. Rooms are old and in need of renovation. Disappointed I chose this hotel
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The property was the nicest in the area. The staff were so helpful and the service was great especially at the front desk from Kanima and Nezha. The private beach was beautiful and also had great staff.
7,5 Good
Pros: The place was very safe, conveniently located adjacent to the beach and the medina. Rooms are very comfortable and well maintained
Cons: Check in was terribly slow. Front desk staff not the most friendly. Breakfast buffet could be amazing, however the staff at breakfast is extremely inefficient and ensuring the items are properly maintained, or even serving customers (we had no coffee cups, napkins or silverware for about 20 min, even if we asked multiple times). The staff around the pool area is also very inefficient and the pool is typically left without pool towels for hours. On 2 occasions we asked for pool towels and never got them. Rooms are well serviced, however we had an instance where the maid just simply barged in the room without knocking, and it happened to be a time we were changing into dinner and were not yet appropriately dressed. Overall for the supposed level of this property we were disappointed with the service we got.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Staff were slow in restaurants - otherwise efficient and pleasant.
7,5 Good
Pros: The property is definitely passable - but tired. If you are willing to have an OK resort for a discount price - this is for you. The staff is as helpful as can be, and this counts for sure. Also, location cannot be better.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect staff , very helpful
Cons: Nothing , the pool was a bit cold due to weather and the access to the heated pool is very limited
7,0 Good
Pros: Thé size of the room Thé big terrasse Very close to the center Bed are very confortable Breakfast was good and was served close to the swimming pool
Cons: The heated swimming pool Hotel is a little bit old No real place to have a proper drink
7,0 Good
Pros: The personnel is very friendly and they welcome you with a big smile. The pool area is nice although they put a lot of chemicals in the water. Rooms are big and comfortable. Breakfast is really elaborate.
Cons: The rooms are a bit outdated as many other guests already mentioned. Prices of the restaurant are high. As well charging 30 dirham for Nescafé instant coffee and tea is just too much in the room is not very 5 star hotelish. Coffee and tea should be included in the room. In the end it’s a nice hotel for a few days but it doesn’t have the quality of a 5 star hotel.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Probably the best in Essaouira! The staff tried to meet us with roses on the bed. Also the private beach is great!
Cons: The fact that is not renovated (the furniture is old) but most important is that it was not so clean. Also the breakfast was poor and did not worth 15 euro\person.
4,5 Okay
Cons: Air conditioning in the room did not work, nor did the computer at check out. Also we were never greeted in the restaurant

8,3 Excellent
Pros: Good buffet breakfast spread, comfortable bed. The pool is large and has nice sun loungers and beds to relax on.
Cons: Because of the high winds in the summer, it is very difficult to sit and enjoy being by the pool, which is why we chose this hotel, and then it is located quite far from anything going on in the town and restaurants. If travelling in July and August, I would recommend staying in Essaouira town instead in a riad. The level of service was not five star, as the rating suggests - staff were pleasant but not particularly accommodating, and our room keys lost their charge every day which was very annoying as we kept being locked out of our room.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very good quality hotel, very clean and well-kept. Good facilities at the hotel. Right on the beach front, fantastic views. Had everything we needed including towels at the pool! Very handy!
Cons: Air-con could have been better but wasn't an issue really, it worked enough for the temperatures here.

Pros: Thé room wasn’t really clean and we find hair all over the flour plus the worst thing is at night was lot off bags and mosquitos who bites us and my 1 year boy and was upset that’s a 5 stars hotel with that price will be like this
Cons: Food wasn’t that good and room and spa was pricy without any value I spend around 300$ a night and they didn’t even offer you o bottle of water or even a smile or thanks could stay 5 days same price even In Vegas or Tokyo

Cons: Poor service, the upgrade only white european people for the sea view rooms! A big scandal in an Arabic/African country like Morocco!

Pros: The only good memory I left with this hotel was the tall dark guy at the gate with a red hat. Really friendly and service minded. The cleaning was great. The city is absolutely worth visiting.
Cons: I actually gave this hotel a great review 2 years ago but something really changed for the worse since then. The room had a broken AC and we told the reception about it from day one. The room was really hot and after 4 nights at the hotel it was still not fixed which was REALLY annoying. The staff did not follow up on the AC until we checked out. The dinner buffe cost around 25€ per person and had ONE dish. You arrive at the gate and there is no one helping you with your bags, opening the door or offering you a welcome drink. It felt like entering a cheap motel. The breakfast is really basic for a five star hotel.

Pros: Hotel was absolutly beautiful and clean. Bedrooms were completely serviced everyday. Reception staff were extremely helpful in arranging our day trips and drivers. Excellent location on the beach with the water sports, horses and camels being a 5 min walk in one direction and the main medina 5 mins walk in the other direction. Would defiantly recommend.
Cons: One of the two hotel restaurants was not open during our stay but staff gave us some amazing recommendations of superb places to eat in the medina. Also coffee was not great.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, clean and luxurious. The room was spacious. Situated slightly out of town but taxis to/from cost 70 dirhams or you could walk long the beach into town.
Cons: Fridge in room wasn’t cold. Key card stopped working twice.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: - Nice, clean and big room/hotel - Friendly staff - Very well located (near the beach and medina) - Lots of facilities (nice pool, spa, restaurants, etc)
Cons: - Gym times very limited as you have to enter through the spa - Had ordered room service on last day and it never came and they wouldn’t pick up our calls after. Told the reception at check out and their response was : “sorry we had lots of guests this morning” - which is an unacceptable excuse, made us skipped breakfast before a 3 hour bus ride. Furthermore, reception showed no intention of following up on the incident.

Pros: The Front desk people recommended Imad (MOGAQUAD) for a Quad and Camel tour, it was AMAZING. Imad and his small team were nice, professional and we had a great time. So thank you Atlass for the recommendation.
Cons: Once we got there, front desk people were good. But once in the room no towels, we had to call and ask for it. They brought towels some of them were so old.... and the cleaning stuff never replenished towels they just took the used ones without putting back clean ones. It was so annoying especially coming back to your room late at night after a long day.... I'm a person who doesn't like to keep calling or asking for something that supposed to be there..... And the thing who pissed me out the most is the day of checkout trying to get to my car it was another one blocking my way, I asked to move the car blocking me I was choked by their answer, we don't have the key and the owner still in Bed.... and that wasn't them it's the night shift personal who let the car there.... they asked me to drive over the sidewalk to get out .... this was unacceptable. They need to work on their communication and I think hire more employees....

Pros: Proximity to the beach. Okay cleanesse
Cons: Dear Hotel Director : While having my Lunch before my departure on 25/04/2018, I came down to reception and I told them that I would ordered my lunch at the bar, went to room grab my stuff which all was ready and come down to check out. As soon as I set down at a table at the bar a female who checked me out later called the bar to make sure i am at the bar and probably she thought I lied to her ( what an irresponsible disgusting business behavior of hers, shame on her, she made me and other things to never come back to Atlas and i will try Sofitel next time). I heard the female bartender telling her out loud and i quote her: “yes he is here and he requested lunch”. I stood up and told the bartender a man that I will leave to check out and come back to eat while my food is being prepared. I checked out immediately in 5 Mins and came back to the bar. While I was at my table I hear all kinds of rumors, mocking and loud noises from the piano area every now and then, complete disturbance of my lunch by the Le Seven manager and the bar staff. I ate so fast just to leave that bar. I demanded my check from a server who seemed just got in to the bar and he was quick to bring my check and i signed it with my credit card and i put cash tip on the table and left running away from a savage bar environment (sorry that was the feeling that bar gave me by its staff and manager). I am not going to tolerate this and i will not recommencer your hotel if asked only, because of the horrific experience I had at your hotel . It was not the first time I came to your hotel and I had good impression before I came this time. The facts I indicated above made a complete disappointment from some of your staff not all. As we say you have not only one bad apple there but couple. Thank you for your time, A.B

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, great spacious and comfortable rooms, huge beds with very good air con. I liked the pool, perfect place to enjoy the morning. Short enough walk to the Médina, about 20 mins
Cons: I would definitely avoid the room service food, much better and fresher food in many of the restaurants close by.

Pros: Staff try their best - friendly & very helpful with local info. Always helpful to find suitable restaurants for lunch & dinner short walking distance to the Medina
Cons: Hotel facilities are tired. (Walls are damaged, poo edgesl broken, Entrance area looks sad, rooms smell a bit musty) Located at one of the main streets of Essaouria, traffic noise at pool and rooms towards street all day & night.

Pros: Appeared much better in the photographs
Cons: The facilities for getting soft drinks could be better. They had to go out to get a coke.

Pros: Mostly the staff especially at the reception.
Cons: The breakfast and the main entrance

Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms looked nice. The property was more of a large villa or a boutique hotel, small and intimate. However, our vacation was pretty much ruined due to lack of sleep. The property is infested with all kinds of bugs, ants, roaches in all sizes, flies, mosquitoes... The receptionist leaves at 7 pm, so there is no one to help overnight. We spent our first night fighting off mosquitoes that feasted on our skin, waking up with red marks and swollen faces. The second day, a little fly repellent was installed in our room, which did nothing. We had to keep our windows open since the air conditioning system was not functioning in the entire facility. Second day we discovered an ant colony behind our curtains and hundreds of fruit flies, so we were moved to two other rooms, which looked beautiful, but we came across large and small roaches all over the rooms and bathrooms, in the middle of the night. We had kids with us, which made the experience much more difficult, since they are afraid of bugs. We left Essaouira with swollen faces and limbs due the merciless mosquitoes. The most front desk could offer was an apology and a late checkout saying they would pass along our displeasure to the home office. We didn’t get to enjoy our vacation or relax the entire time we were there. I wouldn’t stay here again. If only the air conditioning was functioning, I would have been able to tolerate my stay better. We felt like we were trapped in a horror movie where we had to keep the windows open to breathe, and fight off night creatures all night. Not my idea of a relaxing stay.
Cons: Air conditioning was chut down in the entire facility. Bug infestation

Cons: No room service

Pros: Location is great, the staff were great. breakfast was good. We had to come up with quick alternative transportation and the night clerk stayed late to make sure we got a fair, dependable driver.
Cons: The place is in need of a makeover. The building is nice, but it's time to refresh the rooms.

Pros: Great location, excellent/friendly staff... they went out of their way to accommodate us (we had to leave very early in the morning and the front desk person very kindly offered that she will have some food excellent ready for us to take on the bus next morning. The gentleman (front desk on the morning duty) said that he will walk with us to the bus station and helped with our luggage. That made us feel very safe. I highly recommend this place....

Pros: The receptionist was great, garden is nice, waiters is kind also.
Cons: Cockroach in bathroom, rust on shower, bad smell in room, system of booking out of service so the room wasn't ready on arrival... Pool damaged, no buffet for breakfast...

Pros: Staff helpful and very friendly; almost ott I think to make up for the horrible state of this property. Breakfast good.
Cons: Where do I start - it is horribly run down ; door onto our balcony was hanging out of hinges and couldn’t be locked or closed.People could get onto balcony by climbing from either side easily as abutted each other. Curtains hanging off hooks and faded. No towels when asked they were being washed and dried from previous day. When delivered the most disgraceful towels I have seen.No lift though they helped us with luggage up steep steps. Air conditioning didn’t work was told to leave windows open : we were 2 females who are security conscious . As it turned out we couldn’t close door onto balcony anyway. Great location but dog barking all night ; cars tooting no sound proofing. This place is like faulty towers it needs a complete makeover or pulling down. This was an expensive hotel for this area( Essouira is fabulous) when we walked down sea front promanade and saw what we could have been in for the same price we nearly cried. If we had been staying another night we would have moved.

Pros: The building has a lot of potential but for us it seems like the management and the sense for proper service has left the building. For this price we expected a lot more. The towels and sheets are old and have permanent stains. At breakfast, the plates were chipped and not washed properly, and the tablecloths were dirty. The location is also very noisy and the windows doesn’t shut properly. However, the staff were kind enough to let us change rooms to one with a bit less noise.

Pros: This institution has taken some age. Still it is a milestone in this magic town. The rooms are simple but carry a great character. The rooms facing the port and the island are very inspiring. The staff is very friendly. Hassan will make sure you get the easiest check in. Abdellah will insist on delivering your pm coffee right to your room.

Pros: The hotel was very spacious with a large outdoor area at the back with a large (currently empty) swimming pool. The hotel overlooks the beach and bay which is beautiful. The staff were very friendly and it was not a problem to get free parking. The room was also very spacious with a view over the ocean.
Cons: The only problem was that the pool was being renovated as I like to swim every day. Otherwise everything was excellent.

Cons: The first room the water was leaking the second room to hot shower not working
6,3 Good
Pros: The location was great. Very central. The bed was clean.
Cons: We booked a banglow but we were given a room because they claimed that there was some work in there. However, the following day we saw some guests staying in the banglow section. There was a rude porter and a parking attendant who refused to open gate for us and keep questioning us if we are staying in the hotel. The food was extremely expensive which didn't encourage me to order it. It was an empty hotel, a bit creepy at times. TV not working. It is not value for money.

Pros: Breakfast was good. Especially the pancakes with chocolate and the omelette made by a very friendly man. View and location are great. Essaouira is nice and relaxed. The room was big... We had an inner door to the room of our 2 daughters which was great.
Cons: Our bathroom smelled, that was a bit disappointing. A lot of food for lunch was not available. They made an effort to get it out of the hotel though, which was nice.
