Pros: We enjoyed the bar & many sitting rooms, and the beautiful copper bath.
Cons: There seemed to be a lot of flies, in the corridors and around the breakfast buffet. Some food covers might have helped
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Dog friendly and the staff were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble
Cons: If there was a negative..which I’m struggling to find...and this is purely personal..the mattress was too soft!
10,0 Excellent

Cons: Breakfast was 8:30 Saturday. Bit late so we missed it. Worth the wait if you can because it was very good on the friday (7:30)
4,5 Okay
Pros: Location was good
Cons: I had arranged to take my elderly parents and my daughter on a trip to frome and came across the website which looked lovely. We were very disappointed when we arrived and were shown to our rooms. They were basically in the pub garden and felt like we were staying in a shed. The windows in my parents room didn’t open, they had no fan and were swelteringly hot all night and dingey. Our room was equally as claustrophobic and swelteringly hot! When I phoned reception to complain they basically said that they didn’t have any fans left. When we eventually got to sleep. - the noise of the pub garden kept us up past 10.30. It was hot and I uncomfortable. In the morning we were woken at 6.30 am by the sound of the Iceland truck delivery. I can safely say that the stay at this hotel was one of the worst I have ever had. And I was very upset that a treat for my parents was such a disaster. If it had clearly said on the website that the rooms are like sheds and you will be woken up at 6.30 am by the delivery lorry. We would not have chosen to stay with you. I emailed the management to express my disappointment - but no response. Just interested in the room rate I think.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decoration and great breakfast included.
Cons: I'd anything the mattress was too soft heh. Good for feeling luxurious.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Me and my other half loved it!! Surrounded by a few pubs and lovely little shops! We stayed in the top of the hotel- had a luxury room no 5.. was very clean and peaceful!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The style, decor of The Archangel is lovely. The staff are very helpful, the food is good and the drinks are very reasonably priced.
Cons: Unfortunately simple things weren’t done which was a bit frustrating - things you wouldn’t expect e.g a change of towel. Saying that, the manager (I think that’s who he was) rectified them very quickly.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had rose petals on our bed after getting married
Overview Reviews

5,0 Okay
Pros: The restaurant and the friendly helpful staff. Plus the excellent location for touring the area
Cons: The accommodation was a disgrace: a tiny grubby room with an even tinier, grubbier "bathroom" crammed into what appeared to be a cupboard.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good and well prepared. the weather was very warm so the duvet wasn't needed and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very cheerful and tried to provide assistance when asked.
Cons: The bathroom felt a little cramped but was well equipped. The location was good but a little noisy as local farm traffic started early as the harvest was starting and, with a road junction outside, adding to the noise late rising was not encouraged. For some strange reason the floorboards would creak in the middle of the night as if we had a nocturnal visitor -but it is, after all, an old building. If I was to be honest a modernisation is close to being necessary.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The room was so lovely. Really good value for money. Meals we had were delicious. Great breakfast in the morning.
Cons: Our shower didn't work. Was way to hot. Couldn't adjust the temperature.
6,3 Good
Pros: The staff were excellent, attentive and very pleasant. The food was good.
Cons: The cleanliness in the room. Dust laying in the light fittings in the bathroom and elsewhere, just a little grubby. Hadn’t been vacuumed with a decent cleaner before our visit. The room was boiling hot all night, no air-con and the window wouldn’t remain open to get some air circulating either. No fresh fruit in the gin cocktails, sadly the usual pub pre-prepared fruit that looked a few days old. Generally, could have been better! Which would have made an okay stay amazing! Everything seemed okay, but no more.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoyed our stay and will return. The restaurant and pub areas were frequented by many locals, always a good sign. Staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was a very good size and well appointed. Great outdoor patio.
Cons: Some of the fittings need to be updated, my wife found the mattress a little dated or too soft.
8,0 Excellent
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Good Quality Sunday roast and Breakfast. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Quiet at night.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and tidy, food was good. They accommodated for my son, who has a gluten allergy, very well. Very good value for money
Cons: Location. If you don’t have sat nav, it’s a pig to find
5,8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was great. The girl who checked us in was awesome.
Cons: Parking was terrible as was the access to the top floor. One of the beds in Room #7 has a huge hole in the mattress that was awful. The bathroom was slightly moldy but the bathroom in Room #8 was really bad. Ventilation was a little bit of a problem but we were provided with a great oscillating fan in Room 7. Room #8 had a very small fan that did not oscillate. Sheets were nice and clean though.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff
Cons: Nothing
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The room was absolutely beautiful. Window to the inside terrace meant it was very quiet. The bed was mega comfy! The staff was so friendly. Breakfast was scrumptious.
Cons: I don't think there was anything I did not like. :-)

Pros: Very clean and bright room with very comfy bed and smart, modern bathroom. Good food.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: very pretty 'old' building with attractive interior and nice outside area. plenty of dining room. good food and good staff. V quiet location (about 1 mile off main A361) set in a gem of a small English village which seemed like 'old England'. Small ruined castle more or less across the road.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good, location lovely
5,0 Okay
Pros: The property had places to sit outside and the staff were very helpful
Cons: Poor rooms, poor fixtures & fittings. No aircon, (we were dying in the heat, could not sleep), poor food, (simple steak.... inedible), we were put in the attic, most people would find it impossible to get up to it. The whole place smelled of dogs, which are apparently very welcome. Not bad for over £100 for the night.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful Great breakfast Rooms clean and well equipped Friendly staff
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location, quiet and tranquil.
Cons: Hight of shower in bathroom was very low, but understood it was an old building with low ceilings and shower probably couldn’t have been placed any where else!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location in a stunning village. Rooms were comfortable clean and tidy. Ensuite was great. Hotel has lots of space for both bar and restaurant. Food was well cooked, presented nicely and very tasty. Lovely garden and also quiet seating next to the stream. Beautiful views of the castle and church. Truly stunning location.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
