The room we stayed in was upgraded for our stay. We had a four poster bed which was lovely
Drinks are quite expensive
was given a room a loud noise for heating sytem. Really loud! room key was given in a wrapped cheap thin paper, was I in a 5 star? Later when we got changed to a room with normal heating, the key was given in a normal hotel key holder. What a sarcasm
The bathroom was unfortunately dirty on our arrival so we had to ask for it to be cleaned while we went to the spa. As part of our stay we were allowed to use the spa for an hour or two before we checked out. We did this and after being in the pool for no more than a few minutes we were asked rather abruptly to leave the pool as there was a fitnedd class taking place for the amount of time we were able to still use the pool. The attitude wasn't great from the lady concerned.
Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable and windows opened.
It cost £45 for 4 prawn sandwiches in the bar, there were around 3-4 small prawns in each sandwich (seriously). They were changed but then the prawns were obviously blasted under a hot tap to defrost. The sandwich was drenched in a thin mediocre marie rose sauce. Came with a small pot of cheap coleslaw (no cutlery). Staff were indifferent, however full refund was given which we had to queue up for at reception. Breakfast was ok. Car park cost extra. Spa was full, no where to sit. I asked staff if they had any other chairs we could sit on and he didn't really know. Might be an idea for hotel to invest in their staff and offer some decent training.
Spa & Hydro Pool was amazing! Bedroom and bathroom fantastic size
