Cons: The checkin: instead of filling in complete forms make them in advance so the customer only needs to check and sign (you allready have our names and adress etc via booking). To avoid long waiting at the reception (my experience at other hotels, even less expensive).

Pros: It was our 5th stay at the hotel, this time in the Deluxe room. Everything was excellent - the bed, pillows, breakfast, service. When in Dresden, we only stay in this hotel. It is always a pleasure and worth the expense. Highly recommended!

Pros: Everything was marvelous at our one of the absolute favorite hotels in Europe and the favorite in Germany. The deluxe room on the second floor was superb - the ambiance, the bed, pillows, bathroom, huge wardrobe for all our luggage as we traveled for the many operas and performances in Europe this season. The breakfast was also excellent. Luckily the hotel upholds the same standard for years without deteriorating or cutting corners. Excellent management transpires through the very polite staff. Thanks everyone there for our excellent stay, we have the best memories and will certainly stay only there when in Dresden.

Cons: The light in the room was too dim, it is sometimes necessary to brightly light the room. Many electrical outlets did not work. The wifi was a bit slow.

Pros: The hotel is luxurious and well located. I have stayed there on my most recent visits to Dresden. Unfortunately the positive points of the hotel, which I have stayed in previously and been pleased with, become insignificant when there is an issue of trust.
Cons: I booked a superior room, and was accommodated in an attic room on the fourth floor, with small windows, and which was patently very different to the class of room advertised and which I was moved into after the first night. I can infer what happened, which is that the hotel was full on the first night and the category I'd booked was overbooked. I checked in late in the afternoon, and was traveling alone, and so I was an obvious candidate to be placed in a more modest room, without being told. I am very sorry to have been treated this way in a hotel that I has enjoyed previously, and I would never have expected this to happen in a hotel of this class. One of the selling points of higher end hotels is that guests should have have peace of mind about their reservations.

Cons: Poor locations of outlets in rooms. For older people difficult light switch system/technology. Expensive breakfast buffet. Front desk staff could be more helpful with explaining things, e.g. complicated German parking garage system, to foreign guests. Expected more from a luxury hotel.

Pros: The hotel was very nice. The location is amazing, just a few steps from the Frauenkirche. Everything is within walking distance! For parking you leave your keys there and they park your car at a private parking space. We had breakfast one day on our room and it was ok. The rooms were big and very pretty. There is a souvenir shop right outside the hotel, it has lots of great products!

Cons: Whilst there were no issues, we felt that we did not receive a 5 star service, but also appreciate that we didn't pay 5 star prices. Also understand the challenges with the Covid situation.

Cons: The staff were very nice, but they weren’t wearing face masks. I know it must be tiring to wear face masks all day, but it is still mandatory for hotel staff to do so and it would have made us feel much safer.

Cons: Breakfast a bit expensive. Sometimes there are demonstrations in the old City and a bit uncomfortable because the square is plenty of Police when they happen. Not interesting to go there with the own car, it is zone only for pedestrians. much better to use the tram number 2 from the airport. There is a tram stop in the other side of the square.

Wifi connection wasn't great quality. Wouldn't stay again.

Cons: The bed was on the firm side but that’s not uncommon for Germany. There was quite a bit of construction underway so we were awoken pretty early by loud noises.

Cons: Was a bit far from the train station (when you have luggage and are walking). The "table" was very small and despite not travelling for work I did have to work on my laptop and didn't have much space. Also, the table was on the other side of the sink which is a bit dangerous for laptops...

Cons: When we arrived we were given keys to a room that wasn't cleaned, the second room we were given didn't have enough towels, and there were no apologies from the staff. It all seemed a bit disorganised and in general, the standard of cleanliness was low.

Cons: So I would never stay here again because of the really really nasty behaviour of the girl working there when I booked in, firstly having to pay for the linen on top of your booking fee well thats just silly. My card stopped working for room went back to reception and the rude girl ignored me when I said I have a problem and beckoned a staff member to sort it out, when I explained it to the staff member she grabbed the card and sorted out her own mistake, she never said a word the whole time, in her mind I was just a nuisance who did not deserve any respect and her position of authority meant somehow I was not worth any basic manners. Felt hugely humiliated and could tell her colleague empathized with me. That kind of awful afwul behaviour is the reason I stopped staying in hostels but made mistake of hoping these hostel employees nowadays would have more respect. Lesson here for me was if you want to be made feel worthless and like you are unwelcome book the a&o group of hostels. To be fair when I checked out next morning the guy working was really nice and took the time to answer a question.
