Carcassonne hotels near Hat Museum

Pros: Excellent location. Bed comfy. Lovely pool area. Loads of free parking.

Cons: Air con wouldn’t go colder than 19*C and no coffee/tea facilities in the room.

Pros: Sebastien and his team were excellent. Extremely helpful and efficient. The hotel and room was decorated in keeping with the medieval theme of Carcassone only, of course, immaculately clean! We had a good breakfast and a pleasant evening meal. No hesitation in recommending

Cons: Rooms were a bit style over substance, for a family of 4 staying in 1 room we had very little storage for our bags/clothes.

Pros: We loved our stay here! The hotel is one of two in the castle walls and is lovely. We parked at the welcome center and they brought us to the hotel (an unforgettable ride!) and carried our bags up to our room. The staff is helpful and friendly. The air conditioned rooms felt perfect on a very hot day. We slept very well!

Cons: Kettle for tea was tiny. Only enough for two people. We were four in one large room.

Pros: Pleasantly surprised with this hotel, it was very clean and a great location inside the old city walls. Staff were very good despite my poor French they had perfect English. Our room had a small garden/ seating area.

Pros: A lovely warm welcome at the reception desk. We had issues with the cleanliness of our apartment which the manager resolved efficiently and kindly. The head cleaner resolved our cleaning issues to a high standard. All staff were very helpful when we needed anything for our apartment. This apartment hotel is in an ideal location to visit the old and new parts of the city. Parking on site and secured. Very nice reception area. Beds very comfortable.

Cons: Unfortunately, our apartment was not clean when we arrived. We had a put all kitchen equipment in the dishwasher to clean and the manager asked for our apartment to be cleaned twice as the first attempt was the same as when we arrived. The cleaning lady (perhaps the head cleaner) who arrived on our second request was excellent and cleaned our apartment herself to a very high standard. However, the apartment was tired, there was a nail sticking out of a bedside cabinet, the bed legs were held together by silver tape, the furniture was chipped and in need of freshening up. The second bedroom had no cupboard or wardrobe or drawer space so we had to live out of our cases (no hooks even to hang anything up). The main bedroom has a wardrobe but it had a boiler, a broken clothes drier (which was replaced), a mop and a bucket in it and full of dust (which was cleaned at our request). This was a shame as we were staying 4 days to celebrate a special birthday. We left our apartment in a much better state than we found it.

Pros: Excellent location just 10 minutes walk from the Citadel. The staff were very friendly and helpful even before we arrived by providing access, check-in and other details by email. We were allowed to use the pool and car park on our day of departure. The complex has secure entry for cars and pedestrians. Comfortable beds, good size rooms and large terrace. Room was clean and the kitchen was small but well-equipped. Clean and tidy. Good value for money. Indoor pool is a bonus.

Cons: There was s definite smell of sewage in and around our block during our stay. The kitchen had a cook top but no oven or grill thought the small microwave had a grill function. The toilet had no basin and access to the bathroom was through the main bedroom. The toilet and kitchen shared air extract vents. Indoor pool is small. Breakfast is £12, which is a bit steep.

Pros: Excellent staff. Clean apartment. Good base for exploring old city.My seven year old son liked the swimming pool. We arrived earlier than expected and the staff were very helpful in finding us an apartment straight away.

Cons: Good enough. I found the picture on the website to be somewhat deceiving,in my mind it invokes a nice french country setting,while this building does exist, it forms the main reception area. The accomodation area is drab and the outside carpark needs weeding.

Pros: It was great as a group of three adults who came to sightsee for a few days. It was a large airy room with great air conditioning! We had a double bed which one friend slept in and a sofa bed which had a pull out bed so one person slept on the sofa part and another on the pull out. The use of a fridge was excellent for storing beers after a long hot day and all the facilities were as needed. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful also.

Cons: It’s not so much about the property but heads up for anyone who wants to use the pool, it is very small and inside so very warm as a result! We went to the lake to swim instead as the pool seemed more suited for guests with children.

Pros: The receptionist was very nice, there were loads of parking spaces and it was 5 minutes walk to the old town and 15 minutes walk to the new town. Ideal location!

Cons: Breakfast was pricey but it was not an issue as we had an apartment and made our own.

Pros: Carcassonne cerise apartment is located few hundred meters from Carcassonne castle. Therefore it is simple to reach the amazing city without car. There is a large and free parking right inside the residence. The apartment was not perfectly cleaned but large and with a large window on the lawn. Ours had one room with a double bed and others two, but it was perfect for three people. There is no wash machine but a big clothes lines. There is also a covered swimming pool, but we didn't use.

Pros: Good spot for an overnight stop. Only 5 minutes from the citadel. Safe parking

Pros: Location - great for city area and castle, 20 minute walk to either. Car park great, good value and secure.

Cons: Looking tired, stayed previously but now needs refurbed. Reminds me of student accommodation. Some cutlery missing based on room checklist. No coffee machine as per website description.

Pros: Great location and helpful staff. Huge room with 2 levels.

Cons: No wifi at all (even though it says there is) and the toilet is downstairs and the bathroom is upstairs. No options to wash your hands downstairs (just meant climbing up and down the staircase a lot of times)

Pros: It was very close to the castle and in the low season was 38€ a night. That is exactly how much it's worth. Happy

Pros: Located close to the castle, a 15 mins walk, not a very steep one, takes you within the castle walls. It is possible to leave your car on the guarded parking lot, also after the check-out.

Cons: Rooms look very modest, like a student dormitory. I found it strange the floor is covered with ceramic tiles, not a carpet. It is very close to the castle, but you will not see one from the street level - the view is barred by houses.

Cons: We could not find our way back from the old city to the hotel. We tried to phone the recepton twice but got no answer (before 21:00). The address that google gave us was incorrect! The day after we were told that was an emergency, but nobody gave it to us when we arrived. The place looks like students dormatories and not hoter/residence

Pros: Great localisation near the city walls, quiet place.

Cons: We had some problems with checking in.. we arrived late, so we had to check in by ourselves. When we came into our room, which was assigned us, it figured out that someone is already in the room :O finally we got room assigned someone else (???), but in the morning staff didn't say anything about this situation..that was really confusing.. :/

Pros: Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet

Cons: Minimum dishes and cutlery, two mismatched old spoons etc . No extra plates or spoons for side dishes. No cleaning items for dishes etc, had to be purchased if required so self catering was not really easy. Only 4 coat hangers. Room is very dark. Cobwebs on ceiling beam. Smell from the toilet, drainage perhaps needed attention.

Pros: It's a convenient and functional property that's great value for money - air con, comfortable, underground parking available.

Cons: Reception is closed between 12&3 (although this is pretty usual for around France)

Pros: Staff were very helpful at check in, especially with my limited french

Cons: Unable to source bottled water or drink after 9pm
