10,0 Excellent
Pros: This boutique hotel is well located just a 5 minute walk from the cathedral and about 7-8 minutes from the Bayeux tapestry. It's a very old house that was converted into a hotel. Our room was very large with high ceilings and a nice view to the backyard. Continental breakfast was in the dining room where you sit with others - a nice way to meet people and also to enjoy the informality and homey feel of the hotel. There was only one other couple in the hotel when we were there. The owner was wonderful in orienting us to the hotel, the town and the region. Parking was in the street (and free) but it wasn't difficult to find a spot and we didn't feel insecure about leaving it there. Bayeux is a beautiful town and well worth visiting - lots of character, great restaurants, and a perfect location for jumping off into Normandy and the region.
Cons: Couldn't think of anything. Our room was by the street on the second floor but it was a quiet street so noise wasn't an issue.

Pros: Pascal was a wonderful host! He kept in touch before we arrived and was more than accommodating during our stay. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was so special with home made additions each day. Pascal provides travel ideas and helped us determine what to see and where to eat in the area. The location was perfect allowing us to walk to sites and dinners. We loved everything about our experience at Le Petit Matin.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Pascal is a most welcoming host who was keen to make sure we made the most of our stay and enjoyed our holiday. We stayed 4 nights and he prepared something new for us every day for breakfast, including quiche and cakes. Location is perfect for Bayeux, a short 10 minute walk to the cathedral and town centre whilst being in a quiet square, in front of a pretty tree lined park .
Cons: The bathroom was on an outside wall with limited heating, so was cold at this time of year. And the shower was a dribble over the bath. (Hasten to add that the friends we travelled with enjoyed much warmer bathrooms and separate showers in their rooms).
7,9 Good
Pros: The owner was very nice. Property is very charming and lovely. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful.
Cons: Our room has thin walls. You can hear the phone ringing from next door late at night and people upstairs talking, walking and moving about. Probably will choose an upstairs room if we stay there again. Our room I would not recommend for light sleepers.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Guest house was clean and beautifully decorated. Pascal was extremely pleasant and attentive to anything we needed! Definitely recommend to anyone in Bayeux.
Cons: My boyfriend wished there was a tv but that wasn’t important to me.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious, many options and a different home made item each day. We enjoyed visiting with Pascal and the other guests. Our room was comfortable and quiet. We didn’t expect the modern and large bathroom with a great shower! Pascal helped us with sightseeing and dinner arrangements.
Cons: No complaints!

9,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely home, delicious breakfast and very helpful host.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom was just perfect. I don’t know why, only that I must have said that to my wife on more than one occasion. The guest lounge, which we never really had time to take advantage of, provided everything to make you feel homely. The location was perfect for walking to all the sites of interest, and for driving further afield. Carol was the perfect host managing to be both friendly and professional and totally eager to help. Breakfast was magnificent but required someone four times my size or a two hour sitting to do it justice. We loved this place and only wish we had stayed longer.
Cons: We tried, in the spirit of balance, to think of something. We honestly couldn’t think of anything.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed very much staying in Carole's beautiful home. She is a thoughtful and charming hostess.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely large old stone house with parking enclosed in it's own gardens by a high stone wall. Spacious room with immaculate ensuite bath. Owner hostess ready to help with travel suggestions. Gorgeously presented breakfasts of local special cheeses, meats, fresh fruits, rolls and home baked goods- some with apples from her own trees.
Cons: N/a

Pros: The breakfast was exceptional. The rooms were spacious but the breakfast was not to be missed. Out host, Vincent, was also extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable trip.
Cons: I like a firm bed so I would have voted for something a bit firmer although my husband was content. Also, cause its an older house the floors are kind of squeeky but a couple of ear plugs helped that out.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: If there was a way to rate Château de Damigny higher I absolutely would. I had high expectations going into our stay and they were all blown out of the water. From the moment we arrived Victor was there to greet us with a smile and enthusiasm to help. He brought us to our room which was spacious and spotless. The Chateau itself is absolutely beautiful and tucked in its own private little entrance. As much as we loved the room and location I have to say that our favorite part of our stay was the amazing breakfast. Each morning we were treated to a massive spread of crepes, pastries, fruit, cake...you name it, they had it. I can't say enough about how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We highly recommend the Château de Damigny to anyone looking for a special vacation in Normandy.
7,9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great and owner very attentive. Great hot coffee and juices. Just a short drive to town but u need a gps. Hot water galore. Shower was good. Old.house ambiance, rate was fair. Owner was like energizer bunny in the am!
Cons: Owner seemed baffled when we arrived Bed was hard and room dimmly lit. Towels and toiletries were subpar. Website indicated that owner might cook evening meal with notice but he nixed that idea. Carry ur luggage upstairs
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This property dates to 1150. The current owners did a fantastic job of renovating. They incorporated new amenities like modern bathrooms in this fabulous chateau. Vincent welcomed us warmly & prepared amazing breakfasts. He offered his local knowledge of the area including tips on touring & restaurants. Highly recommend.
Cons: It was rainy & the grounds soft. The parking area was muddy.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our two night stay at this chateau was everything we hoped it would be. It was a short drive from all of the important D-Day sites we wanted to visit and near the quaint village of Bayeux. The owners, Vincent and Corinne, were incredibly gracious and we were treated to an exceptional breakfast, complete with crepes and omelettes and fresh squeezed orange juice. Our room was quite spacious with a separate glass enclosed sitting area overlooking the grounds, which are beautifully manicured with a fountain and large fish pond. Loved everything about our stay!

Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Different from other places

Pros: The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished. It was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean throughout, including the bathroom and shower. The location is quiet though superbly placed for the centre of the town.
Cons: The only very minor issue was it would be nice to be able to make a cup of tea/coffee in the room, which isn't currently catered for. This didn't really detract from the pleasure of our stay though.

Pros: Located just a few steps from the magnificent cathedral and all the shops, tours and restaurants.

Pros: We received a warm welcome by our host. An unusual property of character and historical interest. Close to cathedral, and just a short distance from the main streets, Tourist Information and attractions. Owners were also producers of apple juice and conserves (served for breakfast), and Calvados brandy. Optional continental breakfast was available at extra cost.
Cons: No kettle in the room, but our host filled our flask for bedtime drinks. We supplied our own tea. It was not possible to login to the free WiFi, we had to visit the TIC for train/ bus times.

Pros: Beautiful setting.
Cons: We liked everything!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This was a wonderful experience. We were only staying one night in Bayeaux, and we booked the reservation on the way there, so they had very short notice of our arrival. When we arrived it was dark and rainy and windy, and it took a minute to find the red doors to enter the property, but once we did, the hostess opened the doors and we could drive right in and park. It was like entering an oasis. Even in the dark and rain I could tell the gardens were just gorgeous. The hostess was amazing, and upon check in she supplied us with brochures about attractions in the area and a list of restaurant recommendations, which were spot on. The room was just beautiful-think shabby chic (which is in keeping with the historical buildings) rather than sleek and modern, although the bathroom was very modern and comfortable. Waiting for us in the breakfast room in the morning was a veritable banquet of a breakfast with everything you could think of. If you come, make sure to leave time at breakfast to chat with the hostess. She speaks English very well, and is very knowledgeable about the area and told us all about the restorations going on on the property, which was fascinating. I couldn't give it a higher review!
Cons: Honestly, I have nothing at all negative to report!

Pros: Sandrine was a fantastic host! We stayed in a room with a large bed and an attached room with a single bed. The place was immaculately clean, rooms were good size, and the decor was stylish. Breakfast was delicious and the company of the fellow guests and Sandrine added to our enjoyment. The location couldn't be better in the heart of Bayeux and proximity for visiting the historic D-Day sites. Highly recommend!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Staying at La Tour Louise is like visiting a friend. Sandrine is the perfect host. Her breakfast, all homemade, is superb. She provided wonderful dining recommendations and made the reservations for us. If you are looking tor a fancy hotel, this is not the place. But if you are looking for an authentic French experience in a home within walking distance of most everything in Bayeux, this is the place.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: This is beautiful old property in a perfect location in the centre of Bayeux. Bathroom is nice & modern. Delicious French breakfast. Internet worked well. Above all, Sandrine is a very friendly host/owner who was extremely interesting to talk to & who couldn’t do enough for us with tips on places to visit & eat. We had to make an extremely early departure & she was kind enough to prepare for us a breakfast picnic which was a lovely surprise & much appreciated.
Cons: Nothing.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, with a different hot dish every day.
Cons: Would have liked a private car park rather than street parking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: La Tour Louise is beautifully situated in the heart of Bayeux, close to the cathedral, restaurants, museums, and shops. The town has many ancient buildings and is very representative of Normandy. The hotel is in a traditional mid-nineteenth century building and fits into the theme of Bayeux and its history. Sandrine is a fantastic host, concierge, chef and conversationalist. Her English is good and she is very outgoing. Breakfast, served in the hotel, is homemade and delicious and we looked forward to the conversations around the breakfast table with Sandrine and other guests. Sandrine has great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. I highly recommend La Tour Louise as a hotel to stay in while in Normandy.
Cons: I have nothing negative to say about La Tour Louise.

Pros: Sandrine was a wonderful host and welcomed us into her beautiful bed and breakfast. She was especially accommodating of our 8 month old baby (who was the biggest fan of her homemade yogurt). We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend La Tour Louise!

Pros: Owner very friendly and accommodating, we actually misbooked date but they worked around it. Provided us with accurate information for the area. Having access to an adjoining kitchen was a great idea. Would definitely go back again.
Cons: Could have done with an extra chair in the room.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: We got up late but were still given attentive service.
Cons: Narrow stairs to room and low ceiling in bathroom.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Our room in a separate building to the main house had its own patio and the kitchenette shared with other guests adjoined it. It was tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and so relaxing. We couldn't wait to come back to it. Breakfast served in the main house was fabulous and Nathalie the hostess could not have been more welcoming. We enjoyed talking with her in a mixture of English and French.
Cons: WiFi didn't work from our room outside - it didn't bother us but might other people. It worked fine from the house itself.

Pros: The property itself was beautiful especially the downstairs reception and breakfast rooms. Doggy Gloria was a highlight. We stayed on a Sunday/Monday which was unfortunate as most shops/restaurants were closed (bearing in mind the time of year we were travelling also). Found it very hard to get a drink at the end of day after a full day of travel. We accidentially took the room keys with us after checking out. Posted it back from London. Hope it arrived safely!!

Pros: Breakfast could have used a couple eggs. The bread was great, they baked some items on site.
Cons: The mattress was crushed down. The glorious old windows let in all the street noise, perhaps some discrete weatherstripping might help with that.

Cons: Nothing to really dislike
10,0 Excellent

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful castle, perfect location, excellent breakfast, friendly helpful staff and owners, and Bimbo
9,2 Excellent
Pros: This iconic 1933 building within 200 yards of the Cathedral and 10 minutes walk from the Tapestry, and a short walk to the town centre, offers an "at home" option. Our first ever venture into B&B as opposed to the full hotel service we normally choose, proved to be a winner. The amazing house offers a selection of rooms and suites and our large room at the top of the house met all of our needs admirably. A large room comfortable bed and a nice bathroom ( shower only) with a fabulous, partial, view of the nearby Cathedral As is appropriate with B&B, the breakfast included in the price is a "family" or communal affair with a good selection of breads, cereals, cheeses, pastries etc., and good conversation with other guests. This was a very different experience for us and one we would be happy to repeat. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing to complain about as all requests were promptly dealt with by staff and management.

Cons: No complaints.

Pros: It's ok, nothing special. The house is really nice, but they make you use a side door, and except for breakfast, make it clear you are not welcome in the area.
5,3 Okay
Pros: Location is great. Close to city center and we could see the beautiful chapel from our room. Price was pretty good and the continental breakfast was surprisingly good.

Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities in room.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: Location, accommodation.
Cons: The information pack should in include the code to enter the main building and should also inform guests on how to open the gates after 7.30pm as they are closed after this time. If you arrive back at the accommodation late, there is no one on the front desk (even if you can gain access, no code), we had to wait around until someone exited the property to allow us access through the main gates!!!!!

Pros: Big Le Clerc is next to it. Staff and elderly residents all charming. You can have meals there. Very close UK Cemetery and Normandy battle museum. Bayeux centre and Tapestry etc not far. Secure night time parking. Whole site secure behind gates. Nice pool.
Cons: Kitchen utensils and food cooking equipment poor. No oven!

Cons: It was more like an old people's home and wasn't very social for younger visitors. Should be advertised better.

Pros: Very friendly staff, easy access, secure, and plenty of parking. We only stayed one night. Nice roomy apartment, very well equipped, and enjoyed the swimming pool. Didn't eat there as prepared our own in the flat, so can't comment on the food.

Pros: Nice hotel close to town (comfortable walking distance) with a good breakfast and helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are small but adequate and the double bed in my case was very comfortable.
Cons: Parking outside in the lane way was 15Euros, which is a bit steep when you can park on the street (5 metres away) for nothing overnight. And get toilet paper instead of those little serviettes....

8,2 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't very good in terms of quality, quantity, or value. The room rate at 250+ Euros/night was overpriced for a typical 3-star hotel. WiFi was spotty.
7,1 Good
Pros: The hotel is located in the heart of the city and is close to everything. The first room we had was perfect, comfortable and quite. The hotel is decorated with WWII memorabilia, I found it terrific. The staff was friendly and very attentive until you had a problem.
Cons: To make it short and sweet, the first three nights were great, the forth not so much, the hotel made a mistake and gave our room away for the fourth night. After a lot of back and forth they managed to find another room in the hotel for us. The room was much smaller, louder and not near as comfortable but we dealt with it. The morning of the fourth day we woke up early to check out and make our way to Paris, there was no hot water available (possibly because everyone in the hotel was taking showers). We informed the front desk that we had no hot water and they told us there is nothing wrong with the water and obviously we were mistaken. Also no compensation was offered for the booking screw up. After expressing our displeasure they offered us a free breakfast, which was too little too late. I will not stay at this hotel again, calling your customer a liar is not a good way to create repeat business.
7,5 Good
Pros: Proximity to local sites, property full of WWII history.
Cons: Room was not very clean. Also pretty cold. They were closing for season after we left. Eric was a great host and helpful. Breakfast a bit overpriced.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: I was in one of the newer rooms. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly

Pros: The hotel's location is perfect -- right in the heart of the city's attractions! Breakfast was delicious and varied. We especially loved the hot tub and heated pool -- after a day of walking and November cold, they were a real treat!
Cons: While we loved the hot tub, there was no staff attention to make sure that the temperature was warm, as promised. On two of our four nights, the water was actually cold. The breakfast buffet would really benefit from just one hot item.

Cons: Can't think of anything except no coffee

Pros: Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff, within a two minute walk to the old downtown area of Bayreux, Frsnce. The breakfast was great, the room quite comfortable, and the next time I stay here I'll make sure to have a swimming suit to take full advantage of the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. The hotel does have a small, private parking lot which was nice. Bayreux is within close proximity of the "D-Day" sites, including the U.S. Cemetary, Omaha and Utah beaches.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great Staff could not have been more helpful , Private Parking was super and for only 12.00 Euro , very good breakfast , an a nice bar ,

5,3 Okay
Pros: Location was convenient to everything we wanted to see and do in Bayeux. Unfortunately, Hertz rental car at Total gas station required a cab ride to get to. Might be worth the effort to find another car rental place closer in town.
Cons: Restaurant was o.k., nothing special and pricey. We were able to get the same continental breakfast down by the cathedral for less than half the cost. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Bathroom, although spacious, didn't work well. There was no place to put personal items.
