Very well located nearby all touristic sites.
My room was clean, and the bed comfortable, The shower was hot, and the room was more than adequate in size for me as a single person travelling alone - but there were bed spaces for 2 adults and a child - It may have been pretty snug for more than just me. The staff were very friendly, super super nice and the breakfast simple, but good and ample. The breakfast room is nice, and there are big doors for outside picnic tables when the weather is nice. The hotel is in a very good location for easy access to the centre by foot - a huge bonus as parking is at a premium in the centre. it's in a quiet location too - I passed a very quiet night. Many people have commented that they disliked the bathroom cubicals. I liked them! They reminded me of being in Japan. These aren't rooms - they are small, contained, plastic, all-in-one ablution pods. a toilet, sink, mirrors and shower stall in a small 'pod' type fixture. No, they aren't big - if you are big you may struggle. And if there are several of you in a room you may struggle for privacy. But really.. how much room do you need ? The downstairs microwave oven was very convenient for heating up my supper!
The room keys are finicky. While my room keys worked fine for my room - they did NOT reliably open the outside door after hours. I was stuck outside for nearly 20 minutes with no phone, wallet or jacket while I shouted for help and a kind upstairs customer heard my plea and came downstairs and opened the door. Neither of my 2 keys would open the outside door - as I'd just popped out to the car for a second, I didn't have anything else with me, I couldn't even phone for help. Kind of scary. Both keys opened my bedroom door just fine, and once I was let in the front door, I was able to get into my bedroom without difficulty. I'm told that just about ANYTHING will demagnetize the keys (other credit cards, phones, key fobs) - but this doesn't seem to have been the problem - rather it was the outside door key reader I think. This brings me to my other slight problem. This hotel is completely devoid of any staff whatsoever after 9PM. Nobody to field problems or troubles (such as the one I had). Is there an emergency number to call? I didn't see it - and nobody brought my attention to it. It's only about 6 euros cheaper than the IBIS - which is staffed. I would have loved to have had access to a kettle to boil water.
The bed was comfortable. The heating efficient. There was a lift to the upper floors. Car park secure. Very close walking distance to the town centre.
The cleanliness in general was a bit hit and miss, for example, the TV and window was very clean, but the bathroom and toilet area was terrible. The photos I have attached show the toilet which had not been cleaned under the rim. The sink had some kind of glue stuck inside the bowl. The bathroom is far too small. There is little room to manoeuvre, and I managed to bash myself several times. The shower pan is thin and water from the shower ended up on the bathroom floor. The bed cover had seen better days, and appeared to have several marks where it had clearly not had a wash, although the sheet and pillow slips were clean. There is only one small mirror which is in the tiny bathroom.
Everything was Ok. Bathroom small, but not problem with that.
Clean room. Good breakfast. Near city centre.
Room very hot. Zircon would not turn down.
