Pros:Drop off was easy and quick. We had a bit of a wait to get our vehicle due to language barriers.Cons:We received a car with a crack across the entire windshield - we were nervous the entire time that it was going to increase or cause us problems. Dont bother, Rented from Alamo at the end! What a world of difference!Pros:The pick up from the airport was done by the only polite and friendly person representing the companyCons:Poor service by front desk staff, no eye contact, welcome or smile. Took over 1.5 hrs to give us car, when it arrived the tyre had a nail on it, the inside was old and dirty. We demanded the tyre was fixed and this took over 30 minutes. By the. We had lost all patience and decided that the overall service did not deserve our money of a week’s rental! Went to Alamo and was in and out like a flash with no hidden insurance fees and a massive smile and excellent service. We knew that the insurance cost in ACE would be a surprise as it was not listed in the KAYAK site but did not expected to be doble the price of the rental.Reviewed Aug 17 2018

A little bit of the Mexican ShufflePros:Easy pick up close-by nice new carsCons:I call it the Mexico Shuffle because it always seems It's a bait and switch I am now a custom too this business practice Obviously when I rented the car through kayak it was $5 per day not even a Mexico can you get a car for $5 a day I knew that they were going to sell me a damage waiver the know where on the website could I find that information I actually called the location and got the exact price per day which was $35 plus the $5 as advertised so is about $40 per day for a midsize SUV which are required for off road dirt road travel Just to be fair all the car companies seem to do that even if I tell him I did not want to damage waiver that American Express credit card covers me and my automobile insurance covers rental cars and in fact my homeowner's policy has a line item in it for Rental Car Coverage which is rather minimal but it is thereReviewed Apr 29 2018

Cons:They don’t tell you when you book your rental that you have to take out Mexican insurance. Which makes the total fee three times the amount you paid for the car. Big bummer.Reviewed Mar 17 2021

Nothing was what I expectedCons:It's took over an hour for them to bring the car around. The cost was over 50% what was quoted to me originally. The conversion rate given at the counter was awful. The car was supposed to have an automatic transmission and air-conditioning which it did not. They told me to return the car to Fox Rent-A-Car since they wouldn't be open early in the morning and when I return the car there was nobody there. Lo and behold, they charged me extra even though there was no damage and I returned it with a full tank of gas. Not to mention they put an $800 hold on your credit card. Insane insurance costPros:Car was fine and cleanCons:Week rental was posted for very cheap, like $7 for the entire week but then you have to get their insurance and there is really only one option and it was over $300. There is no way really to know what it will be ahead of time. They also have a confusing partnership with another rental company called Fox. So technically I rented from Ace but they weren't open when I went to return it at 7:30am so I had to call and figure out that I had to return it at a different location run by a different company called Fox which is actually the same company in MexicoReviewed May 14 2017

Pros:The car was in reasonably good condition and they did a thorough job of marking all the dings, dents, and scratches so we wouldn't be held responsible for them. The drop-off was quick and relatively painlessCons:I reserved a minivan for the 7 of us traveling to Cabo. It was also supposed to be an automatic transmission. When we arrived, they didn't have the car we reserved (not that surprising), all they had was a 15-passenger van which was absurdly big. And it was manual, along with the rest of the cars they had there. Luckily, one of us on the trip was able to drive manual otherwise we wouldn't have been able to drive anywhere. On top of all this, it took us an hour to complete the reservation once we were there. The workers there are extremely unsympathetic to our predicament and didn't offer any help other than "well, you can cancel and go somewhere else and maybe you'll get lucky there"Reviewed Nov 9 2018

Not very professionalPros:They waited for us to take us to their location. The car was clean and good.Cons:They initially charged the taxes twice. They sold me insurance and said that it included the Fuel, but they had it separated which made me believe that it's not true. On the last day a call was made to see about any grace period, they replied 1 hour. I looked a the CC charge and it said Hora 14:36. The car was returned at 3:05 PM, which was within the 2:36 + 1 hr. time frame. They told me that the clock for the CC was based on Mexico City time (not Cabo time), but the real time was in the paperwork at 13:15. Therefore I'm 1:50 minutes which meant that I had to pay another full day. I told them that I'm willing to pay a partial payment of 1 hour but they insisted on a full day and wouldn't take any responsibility for their error on the CC receipt. Even then they charged me again for a full tank.The agent Viridiana Pino and the Manager were not professional, courteous or fair. Misrepresentation of Rental Costs; Vehicle Not as RepresentedPros:Not much. Starting with the (initial) airport shuttle ("Ace badged"), which delivered me to a 35 minute wait, at the (wrong) office. Once we took (other) shuttle, I was offered a Kia "Forte"(instead of the VW Jetta-Full Size or "similar"). My reservation stated Then, instead of the $30.69USD, that my reservation stated, I was given a choice of $180.69USD (with a $2500.00USD "Hold", and final charge on my credit card), or $215.51USD, for an $800.00 "Hold", and final charge on my credit card.Cons:I did not appreciate the disorganization, the need to go to (2) different office locations, the waiting in line (at each of those offices), for a total of 50 minutes, the type of car that I was rented, (i.e.smaller than the car class that I reserved), or the ("Surprise!!!") additional charges that were somehow acceptable, and explained by, the "Terms and Conditions". While "Additional Charges may apply for required insurance, when the "required insurance" is 6 times the cost of the rental, something is wrong.Reviewed Jul 24 2017

MehPros:The car was fine, started when I turned the key and the tire were in good shape. Shuttle guys were very professional.Cons:Too forever to pick up the car despite there being plenty of staff on hand and few customers, arrival at our destination was delayed by at least 30 min. At drop off I was charged $100 for a very superficial scratch on the door which i feel was there when I picked up. Reservation was misleading, price more than tripled with taxes, fees and required?
