Staff was friendly

Cons:

The car had a very noticible dent on the right side above the front right tire. Also the cost of insurance was ridiculously expensive.

Standard SUV

Probably the worst customer service. Booked at a certain rate for an SUV. Got there, no SUV available, only a small sedan. Guess what? That's going to cost you more than the price you booked at for a lower quality car. Wait 10 minutes to be picked up and driven to the other side of the airport for the inspection. Car is given to us on flat Empty. "you need to fill it up right away". So not only did they charge us more than I booked for, they also scammed us into buying them gas!

Economy

Beware, this company has illegal practices where they try to force you into taking an additional insurance worth 3x the price of the car rental. I had to negotiate for 30 minutes for the lady to finally give up and let me drive without purchasing this useless additional insurance. Also, they advertise themselves as being located on the airport compound but this is not the case, you have to take a shuttle to go pick up the car, they only have a counter in the airport with a guy telling you which shuttle to take. Not a big deal but something to know compares to other companies that are more convenient.

The car was great.

Cons:

The price was too high. They should stipulate that México won’t let you rent a car if you don’t purchase insurance with them. So I ended up paying more for the insurance for what I payed for the car.

The shuttle from the airport was convenient and fast. The check in went well and it seemed like a lot of paperwork to do, but they helped us out and explained everything.

They were fast and efficient, I arrived 20 minutes before my flight they worked fast for my check out and had a taxi ready for me to be dropped off just in time.

I had booked a car and they did not have when I arrived. They also did not offer any solution as they did not have any other cars so I had to take a taxi to the hotel and then go to another agency in town to obtain a car. Worst costumer experience ever

I booked a car for a about 1800 pesos per day ended up paying double. Never gonna use kayak again. First of all thrifty doesn’t exist anymore, it belongs to Hertz. I booked a compact car and got an economy car in very poor and unsafe condition. I had to go to 3 counters at the airport before I got someone to talk to. I felt robbed. Had no value added from using kayak. , go and book directly with the already known companies, there are also plenty of local businesses these days you can also reach out to, they are reliable, give them a chance.

Ace is handled by MEX rental car in LaPaz. The price they quoted was half of what I ended up paying. They don’t include th drop charge when returning to another location. I would not use ace or Priceline again
