Pros: The place is terrific. We rented a whole apartment(bedroom, living room, kitchen, small bedroom, bathroom). Everything is sparkling clean, fully equipped kitchen, big TV in living room, comfy bed. Quiet and good soundproofing. Excellent bathroom and towels. I could go on forever about this place, it is the first property I rented in my travels though Europe that truly exceeded my expectations. You are treated as a true guest, the staff is ultra professional. The parking lot is behind the building(hard to find upon arrival but you will be guided there), we were offered a free complementary drink. 10 min walk to center. Very good value for money.

Cons: The HVAC system is rather basic. Although the rooms have individual thermostats, the system as a whole will only cool if the outside air temp is above 20°C. That's rare in Aberdeen. The rooms can get too warm at much lower outside temps. Maybe the switchover temp could be set lower to allow for the overall INTERNAL temp.

Cons: Poor communications spoilt my stay. I did not expect to be told that there was no record of my booking when I experienced a serious delay and rang to advise them. Nor to be ill informed about the choice of rooms. Reception were more concerned with offering a free tasteless biscuit than ensuring that I had the room I expected. There was no room service menu. The room was gloomy with a tiny window. The porridge was poor and the 'rowies' which are a local pastry appalling. I did not feel the breakfast was value for money.

The seal of the window was broken so could hear the traffic outside, the rooms were far too hot that we couldn’t sleep great. The bathroom shower was terrible you couldn’t move the shower to be higher as it’s just stuck to the wall and the water came out like a hose pipe and not like a normal shower.

We were travelling up from Glasgow on the Saturday morning for a wedding and we were worried as we were very early for check-in and still had to change. Luckily for us we encountered Sara at the front desk, when we told her our situation she was incredibly helpful and was able to get us checked into our room instantly. We had mentioned that we weren’t sure about plans for breakfast and Sara highly recommended the Eggs Benedict in Chez Mal. I can confirm this recommendation was spot on as we had breakfast on the Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t fault the hotel for even one little thing during our stay and we will book here first any time we are back in Aberdeen.

Pros: Loved the front garden area and the option to have a drink outside at the tables and chairs. Lovely decor although maybe could highlight the whiskey cabinet from the hallway with lighting to showcase it and would also add a little better light to that area as it was rather dark for walking, ( Wife was on crutches) Huge room, but that was due to the upgrade as i requested a ground room for easiness due to wife being on crutches. Snazzy bathroom, loved the red, and fabulous shower. Delicious food and great menu to choose from for both evening meal and breakfast.
Cons: The room was a little dark with no option to put on a main room light. The raised voice from one of the chefs when another chef almost set the place on fire!!! His remarks to our server who commented to him on his vocal was not appreciated. (Although we know it was due to the 'heat of the moment'!)

I waited for over 30 mins for breakfast and had to repeatedly ask for a cup of tea. I gave up in the end and left to get a Greggs! The room was very nice, but it was quite noisy outside as the hotel is very near the bars etc.. - I slept well though! If they can sort out the staff and provide a breakfast I would stay again

Cons: Not impressed with delux double bedroom....was tiny. Less than half meter around 2 sides of the bed! Bed in the corner, TV on side wall so you would need to lie on side to watch TV. In booking photo of room looks spacious and has 3 arm chairs and a small table. There was no arm chairs or table in room, no space for them. Photo also showed nice red throw over bed and cushions in bed etc, there was none of this in room. Tissue box in bathroom only had 1 tissue in the top which had been pulled out to make it look fancy- nothing underneath. Was very disappointed with this room, wouldn’t waste your money upgrading to the delux!

Cons: Our windows looked directly into another room and there were no net curtains, so we had to choose between privacy and light. Additionally, the electric lighting in the room was barely adequate. There were very few power sockets - I couldn't charge my mobile device while having it near the bed as an alarm. Signage was poor - we got lost when we tried to take the stairs to breakfast instead of the lift.

Cons: The old part of the building needs a bit of TLC, very battered looking. I think it is being renovated but I hope they do not destroy the old character of the building (lovely staircase). Noisy - needs double glazing but ear plugs were provided. I think there were hot meal options but no member of staff came to advise, I was just told to sit wherever I liked and help myself.

The bathroom had no towel rails or shelves - not even a hook on the back of the door. There was no facility to hang clothes so the suitcase became the closet.
