Pros: Everything! But especially the hospitality & the amazing breakfast, and location & our accommodations!
Cons: Nothing, it was fabulous.
Excellent 10,0

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Excellent hosts, very nice location, very close to most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Strongly recommend.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Amazing breakfast Friendly host Lovely area and scenery
Cons: Nothing all perfect
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Rachel and John were extremely friendly and more than happy to help with anything. We liked just chatting with them. Also, their breakfast was amazing! It was part breakfast bar and part menu. I had cereal from the breakfast bar but then was able to order a cheese and chive omelette (an excellent one at that). They also provided coffee service, toast, jam, and butter. It was excellent! The views are amazing and I wish we would have been able to stay longer.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the faucet in our bathroom had one stream hot water and one stream cold water, thereby making it uncomfortable for hand-washing.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything about it ! Hosts excellent, couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast superb !
Cons: Nothing !
Excellent 10,0
Pros: John and Rachel were excellent hosts, friendly and willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast selections were numerous and very good. Room was outstanding, especially the king size bed.
Cons: Don't change a thing.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This was our favorite B&B while we were in Scotland. The location is perfect - close to town center and directly across from the beach. John and Rachel made us feel very welcome, and everything was perfect! The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was large with many shelves to store toiletries and things.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. Quality of the rooms and food were excellent. Would have liked to have been able to stay longer. The views were stunning too.
Cons: Can’t fault anything.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The owners and staff were exceptional. Breakfast great.
Cons: All perfect.

Pros: A charming hotel in a breathtaking setting with really cool and quirky decor and fittings. The bar was so cool, really retro. It is self service, so please be honest! They serve a fabulous breakfast in a beautiful, really homely dining room. Our room and en-suite were lovely, and immaculately clean. Camilla and Ryan are simply gorgeous, and made us feel welcome and at home. Thank you both so much x

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very clean quirky
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Unbelievably good eggs! Obviously only the best ingredients used.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Welcoming environment, breakfast of an exceptionally high standard, fresh fruit selection available that provided more choice than 4 star hotels I have stayed in. The dining area is very quirky and interesting, particularly liked the way that it was not identical standard seating with each table/chair demonstrating different examples of high quality furniture production. The china used was again selected from a range of styles but each table had its own set. Clearly the hosts have put a lot of thought into the planning of the home. Staff interactions were very positive, and I would highly recommend.
Cons: There were no aspects of the stay we didn't like.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful! The garden is a great place to sit and relax. The place was very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Walls were a bit thin (you can hear the next room's bathroom fan and shower) but it didn't stop us from sleeping anyway.

Pros: Liz and her staff were fantastic. The street is quiet and close to the beach. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean with a firm bed.

Cons: Very limited parking on the street.
Excellent 8,3

Cons: Nothing, it was great
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Friendly hosts. Warm clean and comfortable .Jane and Ian gave excellent advice about eating and local things to do.

Excellent 9,6
Pros: great breakfast, very friendly owners, short walk to the sea….
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very warm friendly welcome, neat clean and tidy accommodation and ample good quality breakfast selection.
Cons: Nothing springs to mind people can be far too picky these days.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Jane and Ian were lovely and very helpful. We felt like we are at our grandparents' house. The room was very clean, so was the bathroom. The location was excellent and the car parking was free (what a relief after Glasgow and Aberdeen). The breakfast was plenty and gorgeous. We can only highly recommend the place. A place to go back.
Cons: What could have been better? Our stay's length. Next time we'd stay longer.

Good 7,5
Pros: Location and charming surroundings - a real immersion into Scottish history !
Cons: We had same dinner menu for 2 nights with no specials for either evening
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Beautiful historic country house in lovely grounds. The walled garden is beautiful. We had a lovely big spacious room overlooking the front lawn. Beautiful common rooms for tea/drinks. Welcoming staff.
Cons: Nothing - loved it all !
Good 7,1
Pros: Needs updating. Staff is great. Facilities a little dated. Didn't feel like it lived up to the value I found throughout the rest of Scotland, staying exclusively at luxury properties
Cons: The room. High in an attic on a hot day. Had to put a fan in the window to sleep.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We enjoyed the eloquence of the property and the pampering by the staff. The grounds were exceptional and the location so near the Culloden Battlefield was a plus. We enjoy staying in a country atmosphere rather than in a city. The staff was what made the hotel great; they were always looking to fulfill your needs before a request was made. We were upgraded to a large suite which enhanced our stay.
Cons: The some of the breakfast wait staff was under training which caused a somewhat less than enjoyable experience. I am sure this has already been addressed and the wait staff at breakfast will be at the same high Culloden House standards.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The location is superb if you have a historical interest in the Culloden battlefield and historic Fort George which are extremely convenient. Loch Ness and Inverness are also relatively near, and the Inverness Airport is only a 10 minute drive.
Cons: The property advertised "suites" and that was what I specifically reserved. I even confirmed with a call that "suites" meant partitioned rooms with a door closure. Upon arrival, and we did arrive somewhat late, we ere shown to a very spacious and well-decorated room - but not a suite. It was explained that they did have true 2 room suites but considered our accommodation a suite simply because of its square footage. In our view there is simply no such thin as a one room "suite." I was disappointed that their site did not make that clear and they ere unable to put us into a true suite because of our arrival time. The staff was apologetic but could do nothing. They need to clean up their booking advertisement and segregate by a different description the room we were given to make clear it is large, with a generous siting area -but not a suite. Other properties commonly do this.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Historic building. Comfortable , good service and good location to relax and enjoy the hotel. The restaurant is perfect, the food and flavors.
Cons: Nothing.
Good 6,3
Pros: First off the home is one of the most important in all of Scotland when it comes to history. The house itself is beautiful and lovely grounds. But the rooms are in need of updating badly. In my bathroom there was a lot of mold on the bathroom tiles next to the bath. My room was dark with a very uncomfortable bed and pillows. I realize this house is hundreds of years old but the rooms need to be better maintained. The breakfast was wonderful and so was the staff. I am glad I stayed to get the Culloden experience. But if your looking for top notch accommodations at the steep price, then this is not for everyone.
Cons: Room
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Incredible location next to the Culloden Battlefield and near the Clava Cairns. Magnificent walled garden, with a piper playing to call us to dinner. Beautiful dining room, and a staff focused on satisfying every dining requirement.
Cons: Stairs going to/from the room - on the same floor, made handling one's own luggage difficult. Also, the room was very warm at night.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Unrivalled heritage; lovely staff, fine dining, excellent wine list, piper before dinner, beautiful walled garden, very nice breakfast.
Cons: Nothing, honestly.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Historical location. Very good dinner and outstanding whisky trolley with very helpful staff to guide. Huge rooms. Lovely garden to walk in.
Cons: Shower in our room was in need of some service. Lack of coffee making facilities in the room. In some places would benefit from a bit of modernisation.

Pros: Almost everything except noise at night.
Cons: Noisy ceilidh or dance going on below my room- I was there to sleep but struggled to get much.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The property was clean and spacious
Cons: The location was little bit away from the town. But we were ok with it.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Over all a lovely experience, however I left my specs and kindle, despite telephoning several times they were un able to find them, nor did they return my calls.
Cons: See above
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Excellent staff, superb accommodation and fantastic food.
Cons: Its a little bit less central.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: WE HAD A BIG ROOM WITH VIEWS OVER THE GARDEN, LOVELY MODERN BATHROOM GREAT COOKED BREAKFAST WITH PORRIDGE, ALL VERY PROMPTLY SERVED - NOT A BUFFET AS AT SOME MACDONALD HOTELS I LEFT MY ANCIENT WATERPROOF HAD IN THE ROOM ON LEAVING (EARLY FLIGHT) ON 25 SEPT. I MESSAGED THE HOTEL VIA MACDONALDS SITE AND RECEIVE A RAPID RESPONSE FROM FIONA SAYING IT WOULD BE PUT IN FIRST CLASS POST. IT WAS AND I GOT IT ON 28 SEPT WHAT A SUPER CARING RESPONSE
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Hotel was warm and comfortable with period decor and furniture. Our room was lovely and spacious, clean and tidy Dinner at the restaurant was fabulous
Cons: Staff very helpful and went out their way to sort things and sorted out travel to and from The Loch ness cruise
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Spacious room, amazingly comfortable bed, quiet room, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, ticks all the boxes!
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The room was very spacious and the restaurant food was first class
Cons: I would prefer a dedicated bar area
Okay 5,8
Pros: Our rate included dinner on the first night. We were told they could only seat us for dinner at 9pm. There was a wedding and a conference this weekend and the dinner restaurant didn't even open until
Good 7,5
Pros: The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: It was cold when we arrived in the room.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Breakfast was always excellent; staff was congenial, helpful, informative and honestly interested in assisting us in all of our needs. Location was very central to many attractions and natural beauty. Incredible views.
Cons: Really nothing - the staff and facility are excellent.
Good 7,9
Pros: Splendid location and bedroom, although rather expensive. Food on the whole quite good although we did have one poor evening meal due to poor staff organisation with concentration a on a golfers dinner in the hotel. After complaing the Hotel did refund us the cost of the meal. With one exception the staff were helpful and pleasant and very friendly. We would like to commend Amanda, Carl, Peter and Mohamed.
Cons: This Hotel must rely very heavily on golfers but on one evening the ordinary guests seem to have been virtually ignored due to the golfers dinner with 35-40 min wait for the main course. The staffing levels and the kitchen were obviousl inadequate and there was no evidence of the General Manager or senior management on site on such a busy evening. Although the hotel can do little about this, there was a large and what appears to have been a Corpoate Golfing Party in the Hotel some of whom displayed very loutish behaviour, we assumed these individuals were not paying for themselves.
Good 7,9
Pros: The hotel is lovely and the location is perfect. Our room was stunning. Overall the staff were lovely - just a bit of organisation would go a long way!
Cons: Pool/spa area is in desperate need of a re-furb - especially the changing area! Concerned about the hot tub by the pool. Seemed to take a long time to cool down in the morning. Permanent cleaning in progress sign next to it to stop people going into it as it was boiling. Breakfast - staff all really nice and friendly but breakfast always seemed a bit chaotic and unorganised. Tables not set properly - asked for a side plate - was pointed in the direction of the buffet to go and get one myself. Constantly having to ask them for tea, coffe, toast, even to take our order when we waited for ages.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: This is the first time I have stayed since the renovations and it wont be the last time, the hotel is looking fantastic again. The rooms are delectably decorated with great touches such as old fashioned radios and telephones, Scottish biscuits in the room to go with quality tea infusions.. The breakfast is freshly cooked and the buffet selection has fantastic choices.
Cons: I only have two observations to work on, as a businessman breakfast at 7.30AM is half an hour at least a tad late, whilst the majority of staff are smiley and helpful just a couple of them on this stay could have been a bit more friendly when smiled and greeted this morning.

Excellent 10,0
Pros: The location was superb, right by the beach. The food , breakfast and dinner, was of the highest standard. The staff at the hotel were all very friendly, polite and accommodating. The facilities ( pool, sauna, hot tub, jacuzzi , spa) were all fabulous; all very clean and everything needed was provided.
Cons: I would have like to have had a log fire place in the reading/ living room; there was an artificial fire instead.

Pros: Staff were excellent and very friendly. The room was clean.

Cons: I didn’t find anything I didn’t like
Excellent 9,0

Excellent 9,4
Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Roomy rooms. Located not too far from a bus stop, so easy to get places. We stayed here 4 years ago, and liked it.
Cons: Would be nice if they had transportation to/from train/bus stations, but getting there via the city bus is not too difficult (as long as a bus driver doesn't mislead you as to when your next bus really is). It was our most expensive room on the trip.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Breakfast good. Staff very friendly/helpful Hotel very clean
Cons: Very disappointed there was no bath. Bed too small, prefer kingsize
Good 7,0
Pros: Everything normal
Cons: No room clean for one morning.Cleaner changed towels took off. Snacks from kitchen when ordered were sub standard, my daughters 1/4 pounder bacon beef burger was a tiny brioche roll with a tiny meat patty and that was it! realised next night when we saw guests with same dishes a lot better, there were no staff in kitchen when we dined.. guy at reception was left to cook..
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Comfy bed. Good selection at breakfast. Very friendly staff. Clean and tidy room.

Excellent 10,0

Cons: My stay was too short....
Excellent 9,2
Pros: An extremely comfortable hotel. Very efficient staff - calm, helpful and friendly. Restaurant food was very good. The is a very comfortable feel about the hotel, from walking in, then during the stay. A good example of a very helpful member of staff is the cleaner finishing outside our room as we arrived and who quickly removed a spider on the ceiling after my wife saw it. No fuss, good humour and wishing us a good stay.
Cons: Nothing.
Mediocre 3,8
Pros: quite good breakfast
Cons: very old style, renovation needed, overpriced, hole in window

Pros: Friendly staff lovely bedrooms
Cons: Breakfast was busy and a bit disorganised - fried eggs over cooked and congealed. Sausages could be local quality and longer queues for coffee machine
Excellent 9,6
Pros: We always stay there on our way to our own property in the far north it’s clean comfortable staff are always lovely & very polite
Cons: There was nothing I don’t like we Sv used the bar for meals . But as I only take a very light breakfast of porridge I think the £11 is too much on top of the room price .
Good 7,0
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, well cooked breakfast, esp the mushrooms and bacon! Good to have almond milk offered. Short walk to city centre and I liked the gym and pool. I would return.
Cons: The hairdryer exploded but was immediately replaced by staff. The soap dispenser by the washbasin didn't work.
Good 7,1
Pros: Clean, relatively comfortable, reasonable breakfast. Do NOT pay for superior room. See comments below.
Cons: I'd specifically booked a superior room as I wanted a little more space and comfort than just a standard room. There was a little bit of a charade played about it being a superior room and I was given an envelope with a token for 10% off in the restaurant and a free costa coffee. When I got to the room it was very small and looked the same as the standard room pics so I went back to reception and asked if they were sure they put me in the correct room. It was then they accepted that it was a standard room. They don't in fact have superior rooms. As I had no plans to eat in the restaurant I was about to be charged a LOT extra for a cup of coffee. The manager refunded the money when I complained but the following morning reception told me I had been undercharged by that amount and they needed to take more as they had only taken enough for a standard room rather than a superior room (which by then I knew did not exist). If it was not for this lack of integrity I would have been reasonably happy with my stay but I'm afraid this is simply not acceptable behaviour.
Good 7,1
Pros: Nice comfy rooms
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The beds were so comfy ... great!
Cons: Room and bathroom need a revamp
Good 6,7
Pros: Lovely and clean. Nice room bit small for 3 people but acceptable. Gluten free area at breakfast. Comfy beds, good shower and big enough bath, plenty of hot water and good tea making face
Cons: Staff were not welcoming and it was the marathon weekend but there was no info regarding early breakfast and no real celebration of the event. Having recently had the best reception for the Great North Run in Newcastle jurys inn Quayside with water, bananas and sweets available to take on the morning and a really supportive atmosphere we were very disappointed. Bar was very expensive. Availability of food was limited and I ordered mash but was served Chips.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: The ease of access from A9 for our travel purposes. The comfort of the room.
Cons: Staff were very over worked but then we arrived when it was especially busy with the next day Marathon.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: very good location and breakfast had lots of choice
Cons: Lifts were very busy - waited a while in the morning.
Good 6,3
Pros: The breakfast set up was ideal and, in general, the staff were very pleasant and helpful - especially staff dealing with breakfast.
Cons: Grossly overpriced for what it was, noisy, cigarette smoke coming in the window from people standing near the entrance, bath plug didn't work - water drained constantly, cracked tiles in the bathroom. We paid for a superior room to get a later checkout (2pm) but someone tried to get in to the room just after midday, despite a do not disturb sign on the door.

Pros: The property is lovely, clean and modern decoration. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The bar is well stocked with loads of variety and there’s plenty of choice for meals. The food is superb and we had the best breakfast ever! We loved our stay and will definitely be back again next year - thank you.
Okay 5,4
Pros: staff very kind and good food
Cons: the worst bed were i have ever sleep, after 2 nights both me and my girlfriend have pain everywhere. bathroom too small and windows impossible to open
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Great food
Cons: No real ale
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The bedroom was very comfortable towels lovely and fluffy, tea and coffee making facilities good. Paid more for less in the past
Cons: The stair to the rooms was a bit narrow and the corridor very warm.
Okay 5,8
Pros: Bar was good, Food was very good and inexpensive. All Person were friendly.
Cons: The room was not so comfortable and it was not so clean
Good 7,5
Pros: The food was excellent, so was the service
Cons: The building was dated, the Shower room needs to be refreshed and the fan was out of order
Good 7,5
Pros: great
Cons: I have mobility issues and although it was only two short flights I would have problem but the receptionist took my bag up and I took my time getting up the stairs.
Okay 5,4
Pros: Breakfast was adequate but served in a small, stuffy room. Great location with good walks at night
Cons: Bathrooms were too small. We are not big people but it was hard to sit on the loo with the door closed. There was no room in the shower recess, kept banging our elbows on cubicle walls. Drying oneself was a feat of not breaking an elbow on the surrounding sink and walls. Generally, the hotel is too dated and certainly not worth the tariff we paid. Staff friendly and welcoming.
Good 7,5
Cons: Bar too crowded and stiffled
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Room spotless, bed comfy, staff friendly all ticks from us :)
