Excellent 9,0
Pros: A lovely B&B with an amazing location on the east coast of Lewis. The breakfast was superb, and the staff was amicable.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The fresh & cleanliness of the premises and the beautiful panoramic view of the sea.
Cons: No evening meals on Thursdays. Was such a pity as we went to stay for a special 30th anniversary
Good 6,0
Pros: Broad Bay House is in a lovely location overlooking the sea about 15 minutes from Stornaway. We had a dog so didn't have a choice on which room to stay in. The room was big and spacious but located at the back of the hotel overlooking the carpark. I believe only one room has a sea view. The dining area/lounge is at the front of the property with lovely views over the ocean. As we were catching the ferry to the mainland early the next morning we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but they did very kindly pack us a breakfast to go which was much appreciated.
Cons: Whilst we couldn't fault the service, we felt that compared to some of other the places we had stayed in during our stay in the Outer Hebrides that the property and food was overpriced. Unfortunately, the people in the adjacent room had their tv on until the early hours of the morning and then again at 4.30 am which we could hear through the wall so didn't get a great night's sleep. As the rooms are adjacent it might be useful to have a no noise policy after a certain time.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Tom and Sue could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and spotless and all the essentials and luxury items were there. An extremely comfortable bed. The dinner platter was absolutely delicious it must be ordered in advance. A beautiful seaside location.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Broad Bay House is the most beautifully appointed BnB we have ever stayed in. Tom and Sue were perfect hosts. Breakfast was delicious. And it’s located next to a great beach.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: View from the lounge / dining area- stunning. Room was spotlessly clean with lots of little extras - speakers / nibbles / white company pillow spray etc. One extra which was a nice surprise was the laundry room- free to use and stocked with detergent etc (we had been travelling about so was super handy to be able to wash a few things!). Stayed in for ultimate sharing platter which was also fab.
Cons: No decaf nespresso pods- they had all the rest though!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Everything great
Cons: nothing so far
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Very comfortable hotel, immaculately clean. Nice breakfast and we had a sharing platter one evening which was excellent. Great location overlooking beach and bay.

Excellent 9,0
Pros: Louis was a lovely host. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The room has fantastic views over the town and outer harbour, and is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Louie was an excellent host and nothing was too much trouble. He also gave great advice on where to eat.
Cons: Nothing - the room was superb
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Good communication, before arrival and during. Always on hand if needed
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The breakfasts were awesome, we chose full Scottish but there were alternatives. Louie the host is a great guy and very helpful, he knows everything about the area and locals who can help with almost anything - even someone who could do some fencing for us when we move up there. The Dragonfly is a 3 storey town house right near the centre of Stornoway and with street parking, though we used the free parking by the harbour; 5 minutes walk away. It has been redecorated recently and was the most comfortable B&B we have ever stayed in - in the UK or the States, also good WiFi.
Cons: One very very minor thing that is an easy 10 minute fix. There is an excellent TV but it was to the side of the bed rather than on the cabinet. But we didn’t go to the Outer Hebrides to watch TV, so hardly a negative.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The place is near the ferry terminal, very accessible, loads of street parking and lots of nearby facilities. The rooms themselves were very spacious and clean. Louie was very courteous and made sure we had everything during our stay. He took particular care to keep everything sterlie and clean in these unprecedented times. The highlight was the amazing view of the sea and lighthouse from the room.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very friendly host Wine on arrival. Lovely toiletries. Great view from window with warm indoor seating. Good parking Warm
Cons: No shower. Lovely bath but Staircase with no lift. May be a problem. No fridge
Good 6,0
Pros: Room was modern and comfortable
Cons: No breakfast served, I was told breakfast couldn't be served because of covid and I hadn't booked it. I had booked breakfast and was served breakfast at a different b&b the previous week. No discount offered. No shower only bath attachment. TV way too small for the room
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The bed was so comfy.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: A well presented property, fully renovated. Friendly host. Well located, could walk to restaurants and the castle. Would recommend
Good 7,5
Pros: The room was airy
Cons: En suite next door No shower Lots of stairs in fairness the owner carried our case upstairs

Cons: No

Excellent 10,0
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Excellent 10,0
Pros: great breakfast Linda was very helpful in letting us wait for the ferry in the lounge
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Excellent hospitality, great location, clean room and a brilliant breakfast.
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Just about everything
Cons: Would have liked a bigger bed
Excellent 9,4
Pros: I stayed at the Guesthouse for 5 days. It is quite pleasant and very centrally located; very easy walking to anything in Stornoway and the HebCelt Festival entrance was only 2 1/2 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was good and included the famous Stornoway Black Pudding by Charles Macleod
Cons: Some might find the rooms a little small. For me, they were fine, as my plan was to be out-and-about most of the time.

Excellent 9,0
Pros: Great location, just a short walk from the centre of town. Excellent food in the restaurant. Very well presented. . All Covid procedures well adhered to. Friendly staff.
Cons: As the Hotel had only just reopened, and very few people there, our room could have had a nicer outlook. It overlooked the service area at the side of the hotel.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Breakfast was good although unusual because of Covid we had to order the night before and you are just guessing how hungry you will be.
Cons: The pre ordered breakfast the night before is a bit of a farce as the bacon, sausage etc is kept in a bain marie for a few hours
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Friendly staff comfortable room good quality food and service
Cons: A little pricey
Excellent 10,0

Pros: Room was good, nice toiletries and good shower. Good breakfast.

Cons: I just got the feeling that the staff did just enough

Good 7,0
Pros: Friendly staff & breakfasts
Cons: No view from room
Excellent 8,0
Pros: We booked dinner every night of our stay, which was worthwhile because many restaurants were not fully open at the time. The hotel has ample free parking. It is convenient for the ferry terminal (to Ullapool), shops etc.
Cons: Minor lack of attention to detail, eg only 1 towel and 1 mug provided for 2 people on arrival (promptly resolved however).
Okay 5,0
Cons: Quality of food
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Facilities, food and staff were all excellent, lifts to all floors and wide level corridors.
Cons: Mattress springs worn and noisy skylight
Good 6,0
Pros: Hotel is only a very short walk into the town centre and in a quiet neighbourhood. Parking was good. We had a lunch and our breakfast at the hotel and the food is very good and comes to the table piping hot. Staff are very friendly.
Cons: The windows are not double glazed and so on the windy night that we stayed, there was a constant whistling from the windows. Room was quite small and needs in need of some TLC.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Good breakfast and clean room
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Location and food
