I am a tall passenger and this caused much discomfort on the flight, I had to keep getting up to walk around. Cons: "I've flown Turkish a few times before, and they're generally pretty good for the price. This trip was different. Despite Turkish Airlines policies outlined in their "Customer Rights," I received no notification that the flight was delayed 3 hours, and there was no notification at the JoBurg airport until you go to the counter to check in. JoBurg staff - which are Menzies third-party contractors, not Turkish staff - were disorganized, uncommunicative, and unhelpful. Only one person at the check in desk seemed to have authorization to make any changes, so all other agents were running back and forth to speak with him, and not communicating with passengers. It took over an hour to get clarity on the situation and rebook my connecting flight to Washington for a different flight 8 hours later. The only compensation offered was one meal voucher worth R100 (roughly $7). They would not even look at other Star Alliance flights for early arrival in Washington, and said they were not authorized to consider upgrading my ticket. When I called the Turkish customer service, they essentially said "What do you want us to do about it? You have to submit a formal complaint." Boarding was totally disorganized. In theory there are boarding groups, but after business class and all the high-ranking loyalty members, it's pretty much a mad rush. This seems to be the common practice for Turkish now. In general, Turkish has a great entertainment system on all their long-haul flights, with tons of movies - including very new releases - music, games, etc. They also provide complimentary kits with socks, slippers, eye mask, earplugs and dental kit, even for economy passengers. The meals are fairly good for airlines. However, legroom in economy isn't great. I'm 6'1", and had difficulty getting comfortable with my knees jammed into the back of the seat in front of me. On this particular flight, I was in row 18. The cabin crew were frantic, disorganized, and shouting to each other across passengers. One half of our row was served the meal, and the other half had to wait over 30 minutes to be served for some reason. By that time the vegetarian option was no longer available. Crew also had to run back and forth between service carts because they were frequently out of very common beverages (like sparkling water. And ice.), and on two occasions crew left a drawer from a cart full of trash sitting in the aisle. There were several times that crew ran carts into passengers - including once into my knee that was not in the aisle - and didn't even acknowledge doing so. They also stopped the carts in front of occupied lavatories, temporarily trapping passengers. So not terribly professional. While not specifically on this flight, the experience in Istanbul airport with Turkish Airlines' staff was awful. Zero interest in helping, rude and dismissive, and overall terrible."

Adults also received a goody bag with grippy socks, slippers, eye mask, lip balm, toothbrush with toothpaste, and ear plugs. It was a pleasant surprise."
Cons: "Someone was escorted off our plane when our flight landed for unknown reasons. This was the day after the terrorist attacks in Belgium at the airport and metro, and the crew asked the person being escorted off the plane if he had taken all of his bags. If this person was a terrorist, do you really think he would just tell you if he left a bag of explosives on board?"

Cons: "Once we landed at Istanbul the wheelchair service was very poor. The person in-charge was rude,did not care to provide ride to bathroom or to buy water, There was no water or bathroom nearby. The flight to Amman was cancelled/delayed. First we were told it was cancelled and would be put up in a hotel, but on the way the wheelchair driver was asked to return to office and drop us at a gate. At this gate the departure time kept changing every hour or so without any plane at the gate, or staff. This lasted till next day about 3 PM. For this long period There was no water. The was no assistance to bathroom or food or water. All the passangers were upset. They organized and went to talk to the Airline personnel. They returned frustrated since none of the Airline staff knew anything."

I selected vegetarian but on the way back there wasn't a vegetarian meal for me so they said they would put something together... when they came around with drinks I asked for water and they were 'out' then they forgot I still didn't have anything to eat or drink so after an hour I went to ask if I could have something. 20 minutes later she finally came with food and I, again, asked for water and she pointed to the tiny cup on the tray (which contains like 3oz)."

I was forced to pay a $417 penalty for a ticket which original y cost $590. Had to pay another $30 Visa fee, just to go to the counter to deal with the problem and lost $ 100 hotel reservation in Madrid."

Cons: "This has been the worst flight I have experienced in many years. I flew with Turkish Airline for the first time back in 2010. I have a very good experience. Since then I have flown at least once a year sometimes twice.It gets worse each time I fly.The airplane is not clean. The seats are worn out. The blankets are not washed. There is very little leg room. I am not a tall person so I cannot imagine how others manage. The bathrooms leave much to be desired. And finally the food-what a disappointment! You would think at least the food would be better. The only saving grace is the crew. They seem nice but they cannot do much. Apparently this is a management issue. I have started to consider other options to fly to Europe."

It was boarded and ready to go around 7:00. Then....we taxied down the runway only to stop because of a situation on THIS plane (a light that did not go off). It was fixed pretty quickly and meanwhile a rep. from Delta boarded the plane, apologizing for our inconvenience and handed out Jolly Ranchers. REALLY? After that, she and the flight attendants did give us a free drink/headset coupon. That would have been nice but it expires Dec. 2017 and the flight attendant stopped serving drinks about half way down the aisle because the flight was so short. The coupon will be of no use to me. I finally got to Raleigh about 9:30...I booked the flight so I wouldn't have to drive at night.. Sigh....Delta used to be my favorite airline."

It was lucky that she found Chinese speaking customers to help her."

Ground assistance (wheel chair) left me with a badly bruised left big toe and I didn't think we'd ever get through the TSA. The pat-down I received was more like a sexual assault and I didn't even get a happy ending. We made it to RDU, so the exercise was a success, but it was a huge hassle."

I was stuck in the last row, back of the plane & had seen other people with coffee. The flight attendant told me no, I would have to wait for 3 more hours for coffee at breakfast. A smiling face showed up within minutes & asked if I wanted coffee. She told me that when she hears someone else say "no" that she thinks it should always be "yes". She was the African American flight attendant (wish I would have got her name). She brought me coffee, offered tylenol & checked in on me again later."

Poor selections on the movies. No charging stations in the seat. This plane was very noisy so I was really glad to have noise cancelling headphones. Very expensive to select seats as it was bought through a non-Delta site to get the desired connections."

Cons: "I was seated next to an extremely obese man. He was so large his body spilled over not only into my seat but rested on my body if I did not plaster myself against the window. This was very disturbing on many levels. First of all, I paid for a seat on the flight but only was able to utilize half of it for the man next to me took up not only his seat but half of mine. Secondly, we were seated in an exit row. There was no way this man could fit through the emergency exit. This aroused a sense of panic and an overall feeling of unsafety for me because in the event of an emergency no one would be able to escape in our area because this man would clog up our exit. This could prove fatal for many people. Thirdly, his body kept touching mine since he was overflowing into my seat. During takeoff and turbulence especially, his excessive fat would rest on my legs, arms, and torso and bounce around. There was no escaping it. It was not only disgusting and disturbing to be unwillfully touched by this stranger, but it also caused me to feel extremely claustrophobic. I feel as though regulations need to change regarding excessively obese people flying on commercial airliners. It is unfair for passengers like me to pay an equal amount and be cheated by passengers like him and only receive half of what I paid for mixed with undesired human contact and is also a serious safety hazard. Thank you for your time and I hope you take my complaint seriously and consider reviewing your regulations."

Seating was not very comfortable as there was a box attached to the leg of the seat in front of me, making it necessary to keep my feet at an uncomfortable angle through the long flight. I did not enjoy the food."
