Pros: Very friendly greeting, well organised welcome. Clean
Cons: Breakfast cereals would be helpful if labelled( are they cornflakes (Nice!) or ‘crunchy nut flakes’ ( Yuk!).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was clean and comfortable with a decent sized bathroom. The tea and coffee making in the room included chocolate biscuits which we loved. Breakfast was optional and although we didn't take part in this, the set up in the dining room looked good. The host was very helpful in showing us where we could go to find places to eat. There was on site parking and quick wifi. This hotel was great value for money.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: A hand grip for the WC would be helpful. Just to rise when needed
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, pretty arts and crafts building, attractive garden, pet friendly, helped with luggage
Cons: Tea and coffee making was basic, bed too soft, too warm in room

7,5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok, maybe being a bit picky, but not a branded cereal (cornflakes), also butter would have been nice, they were swirls of marge on the plate which looked really nice. Huge bed, nearly 2 doubles together. Plenty of wardrobe and draw space. Very quiet at night. The Spanish receptionist was extremamente útil, as was the lady on with her at departure, she offered to make us a packed lunch, which we thought was very nice.
Cons: We found that the room (No 1) could maybe have been done with a little renovation, there was a problem with the shower, (which they were aware of), also found it a little cool, but some people may prefer this. Other than this we couldn't complain.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist was so helpful and friendly and always smiling
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, would highly recommend, lovely and friendly staff, very helpful. Will definitely be staying again
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was amazing! It was a very quirky hotel which we loved, the facilities was amazing and if we needed anything the 2 lovely hosts couldn’t of helped us more and made us feel right at home. Also the breakfast was gorgeous! I am also gluten free and they catered for this perfectly! The rooms were nice and the beds were so comfy. We were near the city centre and the taxi was just £6. We could of walked but £6 between 7 of us was to good to turn down haha! We were all gutted that we had to leave. It was a brilliant hotel.
Cons: Nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service from the staff was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble
Cons: The fan in the bathroom stayed on too long
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! Location is ideal. Far enough from the town centre noise but close enough to walk there and to most venues
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very obliging. Nothing is penny pinching. The breakfasts are delicious. The countryside is very close - 5 minutes by car and yet the city centre is also only 5 minutes away.
Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Claudia was fabulous .... And whatever she is paid needs to be doubled!! Nothing was too much trouble and she made our stay (at a very stressful time) just perfect.
Cons: The place was faultless!
5,0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Noisy room cold and breakfast very poor
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Had Continental breakfast-absolutely excellent. Beautiful Dining Room. Excellent Service. Couldn't Fault it.
Cons: No plug for the bath and inadequate shower. Poor toiletries. Such a shame, spoilt an o/wise excellent stay.
6,3 Good
Pros: Room was exceptionally spacious and well equipped, as was the bathroom. Both looked recently refurbished and the heating worked excellently! Breakfast was good quality (didn't eat evening meal in as there is an excellent Italian just up the orad and I love Italian food).
Cons: Corridors etc were narrow and a bit tired. Couldn't make outgoing calls from extremely sophisticated phone in room. I had to go to bar to access free Wi-Fi as my room was out of range. Had full breakfast, but would have had to pay extra £6.50 to add half a grapefruit to this, which I thought a bit steep.
6,4 Good
Pros: Room quiet. Staff friendly and attentive. No problem for late arrivals. standard hygene very good.
Cons: No tea-making facilities in room. Pillows hard.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The price!
Cons: It was freezing and there was no central heating on and it was below zero outside, I had to sleep with my clothes on! It had forecast cold temperatures but the hotel was left with no heating on!

Cons: Room could have ben cleaner More tea bags in room(only 2!!)
2,4 Mediocre
Pros: The staff did try to provide service
Cons: The room was shabby and extremely dark and cleanliness was poor. The shower didn't work. The heating only comes on for a set period in the evening so it was freezing at night.
7,6 Good
Pros: Facilities appeared very good although only slept there and did not eat or drink there due to commitments elsewhere.Security was very good particularly with the car park having gates which were closed at midnight, very comforting considering we were on the ground floor facing the car park. Also very helpful that the hotel accepts Maestro cards as well as credit cards.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding breakfast. A++++ Staff was very helpful. I felt like I was staying at a bed and breakfast because they were so attentive to my needs. Very nice hotel. I would stay there again. The chef at the hotel is amazing. Great food at the restaurant downstairs. No need to go out.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome from staff. Lovely comfortable room overlooking the park, good for walking after busy day. Hamiltons restaurant had good selection of freshly prepared food in evening. Breakfast in bar area, lots of choice.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast with a wide choice of food. Beautiful bedrooms and amazing showers. I booked a meal for 5 in the evening and the were able to accommodate us at short notice. Excellent food.
Cons: The staff muddled the cocktail order and gave the 2 cocktails we originally considered but changed for the 2 for 1 deal. We had the wrong cocktails and were told we would only be charged for the 2 for 1 deal. We alerted the staff we had cocktails, preventing them from making the 2 for 1 deal. Unfortunately, we were charged for the two cocktails. My guest paid for the wine including a bottle of wine £20 + two cocktails. When I left on Sunday I was also charged for a bottle of wine £20. I queried the bill and was given a £20 refund.
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Very comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Cons: It was unfortunate that the stay coincided with the local marathon runs.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. The room is very well decorated, All the bedding, curtains are co-ordinated.... very stylish. A lot of thought has been put into it. Every attention to detail was thought of. The bathroom is spotlessly clean. The owners and staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We would recommend eating at Hamilton's restaurant, the food is excellent.
Cons: nothing!!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and friendly staff excellent facilities.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the lighting was excellent. I especially liked the shower and the heated mirror in the bathroom which prevented it from getting all steamed up after showering. We were only there for one night for a stopover after a funeral, the celebration was also held here, the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for the bereaved family.
Cons: The only fault in an otherwise perfect room was the noise from the toilet cistern, which trickled for about half an hour after being flushed. Nothing major it just sounded like a tap had been left running.

Pros: Lovely building (dining room is a gem!). Our room was clean and comfortable, well appointed up on the second floor. Overall a very nice experience and one we'd repeat without hesitation.
Cons: Being Saturday night there was a wedding party, and we could hear the disco until midnight, even from where we were. Just a small thing is the staff like to call you by first name. I prefer 'Mr', but I may just be getting old!
10,0 Excellent

Pros: Room was clean and spacious. The setting is beautiful. Parking good.

7,5 Good
Pros: Pleasant Hotel, nice helpful staff. Would stay again.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Room ok
Cons: Took £50 from my account at check-in, saying it was company policy. When queried I was told it was if I used the bar. I explained that we did not going to use the bar. Other hotels let you pay cash at the bar or swipe your card but don’t take any money at check-in. I was then told it was because of security(?), even though I had paid in full before arriving. Then to cap it all, when checking out they said that the £50 would be refunded in two days, not when we were checking out.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic building, immaculate rooms, very quiet, beautiful and well kept gardens, friendly staff, great food.
Cons: Nothing

1,0 Poor
Pros: Staff were very helpful
Cons: There had been no hoovering in the room for months, the carpet had food left on it from the previous people and the bathroom had hair on the floor and worse, hair in the sink.
7,1 Good
Cons: Although the room was comfortable and great, and non smoking room, the room is on the ground floor at the entrance and smelled like smoke, as the window is kept open and the people some at the entrance next to the room window. I asked housekeeping not to open the window during my stay, which they did not, but the room still smelled like smoke. I did not complain, and did not asked to be moved to another room, as it would have been extremely inconvenient for myself to pack up and move, after my long travels. Prevent bottom room next to entrance. Otherwise great stay!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: I could not fault this hotel at all. The staff were outstanding, they did everything they could to accommodate us, nothing was a problem. We asked for a very early check in, they sorted it no bother, we asked for extra milk and tea bags, they have us so much we could have several extra drinks in our room. The staff were always smiling, the rooms were of good size and spacious and very clean. Breakfast was excellent, great choice and everything was hot, the plates may be a bit too hot lol. Perfect location, fantastic for the races, would definitely stay here again HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
3,3 Mediocre
Pros: Convenience of location for racecourse
Cons: Everything - room had dirty wet carpet, Windows were filthy so couldn't watch parade ring pre race, glasses had lipstick on, remote control for tv didn't work and was woken at 7.30 by banging hotel room doors. Ate in restaurant and food was burnt. Breakfast staff were abrupt and a lot of menu items had run out. They were replenished eventually but had to wait. All in all a complete waste of money and spoiled an anniversary weekend.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, great breakfast, great location
Cons: Staff could’ve been friendlier in the restaurant at breakfast

Pros: Lovely location, quaint establishment.
Cons: Breakfast the second morning the bacon must have been done hours before and kept warm, dried out. Our bed was very creaky and the noise from people moving around upstairs was very loud, most annoying.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel fantastic hosts great food. Nothing you could complain about 5 star service.
Cons: Nothing
7,0 Good
Pros: Pleasant & helpful proprietor, adequate breakfast, Outdoor area was lovely, sadly not ideal for us due the time of year

9,2 Excellent
Pros: This is a quiet hotel exactly where we needed to stay. Our room was a good size and so was the bathroom. We also had a great view over fields.
Cons: The standard towel allocation per double room is; one large, one medium and one small. We asked for a second large towel and were given it straight away, it just seemed a bit strange.

6,7 Good
Pros: Excellent view
Cons: Our room wasn’t clean , it’s was dusty , and wasn’t hoovered no bags in bins and water still in kettle
6,7 Good
Pros: The staff at breakfast were very helpful although there was a lack of fruit at breakfast (they have 6 chefs - but no one know who should order!) We were moved to another room for the second night - but this was also in need of redecoration. Excellent views of the lake from the dining room. The website was excellent but did not truly reflect the hotel.
Cons: We were allocated a room with marks on the ceiling, in desperate need of redecoration and very dark. The toilet flushed poorly, the shower was too low so that a 6 foot person could not easily shower! The rooms on the website looked much better. We waited a while to be seated at dinner and then sat down ourselves, collecting our own menus! We ordered wine that was just put on our table with "here you are then" rather than poured etc and things we asked for did not come (like water or a knife). However the food was very tasty.
7,5 Good
Pros: Food in the restaurant was good. Staff were very pleasant.
Cons: Public areas and the rooms are a bit dated and tired
7,5 Good
Pros: Location Staff v pleasant
Cons: Tired. Poor food
7,1 Good
Pros: Fabulous location .
Cons: The hotel was ok but very tired , had a problem with cleanliness in our bathroom- staff sorted it . Had we known there was a function on that night I would have stayed elsewhere as we were kept awake by the disco . And then the guests !! Hotel very unsympathetic about it when I write to them Breakfast was good Wouldn’t stay again Swimming pool was very child oriented which was disappointing
5,4 Okay
Cons: Service for breakfast was poor. I waited 20 minutes to order and was ignored and then staff disappeared Had cup of tea and an orange and left withot cooked breakfast as paid for. Drove to a cafe in Shifnal and had breakfast there instead
7,9 Good
Pros: Staff were all charming, friendly and helpful. Best aspect of the hotel. We were offered an upgraded room but turned it down as we wanted an extra-wide bed, not a double and a single.
Cons: Was a little down-at-heel. Rooms could do with refurbishment. Entrance road very rough.
6,7 Good
Pros: The mattress and pillows were comfortable; whilst a basic requirement in accommodation, this is not always the case.
Cons: The room was very warm with no air con but also not even a fan and with a very small window, sleeping was difficult given there was no means of reducing the temperature. Decor was somewhat dated but the room and bathroom were clean Chose not to dine at hotel as it looked somewhat institutional
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is quite remote and is a great location to get away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. The staff were welcoming and helpful, coping very well with a power cut over breakfast.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting overlooking the lakes in beautiful countryside. Friendly staff, nice pool, room had everything we needed, although I would book a double bed next time rather than have 2 singles pushed together. Good selection at breakfast and nice outlook from the restaurant. Good value for money.
Cons: Road up to Hotel/Clubhouse - needs resurfacing and speed bumps are not good when you suffer with back pain! Also, the path leading to hotel reception needs levelling. My husband tripped on one of the raised slabs - not good when you've had spine fused and are awaiting another back op!!!! Decor/furnishings are a little dated but all clean.

Cons: It stated room service was 24 hours yet when we tried to order the staff were rude and they said we couldn't. Pros: Location was perfect, as were the facilities - very clean, and friendly staff. We had a lovely stay, and were made to feel very welcome.
Cons: Complimentary water in your rooms would be nice, and a room service menu for the Indian restaurant. When you have events happening simultaneously, perhaps just make sure you tell guests upon check-in. Noise levels were suitably controlled though!

Pros: My stay was very comfortable and staff very pleasant
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was very good
Cons: The staff lacked professionalism from the arrival to the end of our stay. Especially the bar staff and waiting on staff. We observed a bar person serve a 10 year old alcoholic shots while using his parents credit card to purchase them. We reserved a table for 5 people in the restaurant and when we queried how cold it was and asked if the air con could be turned down we were informed by the waitress that she didn’t have time to feel the cold as she was too busy, she then proceeded to reel off a list of foods that were not available. As we had booked the table early morning, and as it was only 7:30pm we enquired why so many dishes were unavailable only to be told by the waitress that she didn’t know, she then stated “perhaps the kitchen is having a bad day”. The room although clean and comfortable had a very noisy air con unit, that even when switched completely off still made a lot of noise. Outside the door the hall light constantly flickered and also made a loud noise, this was reported to reception who stated they would make a note of this!! This hotel is exceptionally good for large groups and the location is very good and easy to travel too. We have stayed here a number of times on our visits to the Midlands as we have friends and family nearby, normally it is well run with staff who are professional and care. On this occasion the hotel appeared shabby and run by staff who really did not know what they were doing and were prepared to risk the alcohol laws and the hotels license to boot.

And after they finished started rowing for the next 2 hours just fighting and arguing loudly and smashing up the room told the night porter again and he went up again I thought the police would need to be called it was that bad!!!! So no sleep for me or my girlfriend and we both had to leave for work with no sleep and feeling so tired. Absolutely horrible place will be wanting a refund!!!!!!

Cons: Very small room. Hotel in need of some TLC. Very noisey bathroom fan. Noisey generator or cooling unit starting up at intervals during the night. Pros: nice steak Monday night.
Cons: On first arrival in the room it smelt off damp I opened the window and informed staff of the problem they brought up a can of air freshener. only one set of towels in the room had to ask for 2nd set. no glass/container in bathroom for washing out mouth after cleaning teeth. no toilet brush in bathroom. hairdryer not working. unclean sheets on bed. shower/bath partition has black slime under and around the fitting, so disgusting that neither my wife or I had a bath or shower the 4 days we were there. thought the cleaning staff might have pick-up on the dirty toilet paper we used to partly remove the black slime. no where to sit in room, no wardrobe to hang clothes we were up for a funeral so had 3 changes of clothes with us. no drawers for socks ect. television remote was disgustingly dirty we put it in a plastic bag to use it. we paid over £50.00 per night for a really bad room the they say you must pay £5.95 each for breakfast a bit of a rip of. if it was not for the fact we had a funeral to go to we would have walked away from this 1 star hotel. and worst of all when we got there they informed us there might be a little noise in to the late hours as they had booked in a wedding party from about 5o/clock until late

Pros: The only thing thatI can be positive about is the location being right in the centre of the city.
Cons: the whole place seems run down and in need of renovation. The problems with noise was awful, you could hear all the doors banging in the corridors and the double glazing failed to stop any street noise. The mattress was soft with no support and the lights on either side of the headboard so loose they would not shine on the bed just flopped down. The shower was dirty with black hairs in to and I was not given a remote control for the TV. When I got in the room the TV came on and was very loud and I had not been given a remote, why not?

Pros: Dirty room, unfriendly staff, room only partially made up, toiletries not replaced. All in all a tip, albeit they are doing it up. Building work not being carried out in a tidy manner.
Cons: The attitude of the younger receptionist, very rude.

Pros: Location was good and parking easy.
Cons: Late at night the other residents were drunk and aggressive almost to a point where police would have to be called. It seems to be a hotel for workmen.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room comfortable
7,5 Good
Pros: This is a budget price hotel, so was therefore acceptable. If you want quality find a more expensive hotel. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff.
Cons: Bedroom carpet quite stained with coffee-type spills. Toilet flusher broke on first morning - Had to make do by removing cistern lid as it wasn't repaired while I was there. Key card failed once and had to be re-calibrated after trekking upstairs and back down again! One guest smoking outside front door in morning - wind blew smoke smell all the way up the stairs.
4,2 Okay
Pros: Free parking, that’s all.
Cons: Free WiFi wasn’t working, this normally wouldn’t be an issue but the location of the hotel had no signal. Room was poor, carpets heavily stained, walls stained, many cobwebs, even in the shower! Ceiling half plastered. Bought a beer at the bar, it was flatter than the horizon.
4,0 Okay
Pros: The staff are friendly
Cons: The room wasn’t very clean
7,9 Good
Pros: The price, the location, the staff and the food. The room was huge. The Hotel is obviously being updated by the new owners so I could excuse the dodgy curtain rail and shower door. I wanted a cheap hotel a short distance from where I was playing golf the next day and the hotel provided that. It also provided an evening meal that was both satisfying and reasonably priced. To be honest, at the price they charged I cannot understand some of the comments made by other people. If you want 5 star facilities you have to pay for them and not the £35 that it cost me.
Cons: The only thing that I would have liked is a dinning table to eat off rather than a coffee table
